Street tacos are generally like snowflakes: no two are alike. There are good tacos, great tacos, and buckle-your-knees tacos and one can usually tell which is which.
Taco Naco tends to be on the knee-buckling end. For starters, it's in the stinkin' name, ya know, TACO Naco, so they must know what they're doing. And oh boy, do they ever. Whether you want something simple and quick or something more, well, artisanal and fancy, this is your jam.
My suggestion: get what's seasonal/special. The quesabirria tacos were featured this last time and those three tacos were absolutely a smash. Yeah, it gets messy, but these are *tacos*, not some finger food at a black tie gala. Get involved with your food and thank yourself later. Not to be outdone, my lovely wife had the pork al pastor taco alongside a brisket taco and wowza, are those sensational! The pork al pastor has pineapple sidled up alongside and those two flavors are just besties. I absolutely recommend at least one of those. Pro tip: the Mexican corn salad/salsa is a must-try, if even to share.
But a taco needs a flavor profile on top and Taco Naco is bringing seven different levels of flavor and heat in their salsa lineup. You could go mild (very fresh, very flavorful) or heat it up (oh, but that creamy jalapeño) or just get flat on chili head with some habanero salsa. You do you, though, and treat your taco right, because I guarantee that will happen in return.
Seating is somewhat limited in colder weather, but when the patio is open, your taco game can be spot on. Order at the counter and the servers and super helpful in helping you identify what you like, or just get some to go and crush your tacos at home. Browse the 'store' as well for Mexican specialty foods, some of Taco Naco's salsas to go, or their meats by the pound. Whatever choice you make, just know these are some of the best taco experiences you can have in the KC Metro and absolutely in the JoCo area.
