Taco Pete Bistro

Never been to this spot as its kinda hidden behind an IHOP just off the highway. Not a big taco fan but their tacos all the way are very flavorful and the added sauce makes them dance. If you don't like hot taste the sauce first before putting in your taco. Fast service and friendly staff makes for a great lunchtime spot. I got the hard tacos great prices too for lunch.

This little spot is great for inexpensive tacos. The staff is friendly. They charge .25 cents for a cup of water. The wings were good and their hot sauce is flavorful! You have to order before you sit down. So , the lunch date total was $37 for five tacos, two drinks and a ten piece wing and that price didn’t include a tip. I gave them four stars because they nickel and dime you but the food is good!

My first time here and there was a woman giving out the orders that was very rude and ignored me when I wanted to ask if she called no. 96. my receipt no. I listened to her call no. 95 and then 97. I went ti the window and tried to get her attention as I seen a bag sitting a small bag that looked like a single taco. She looked right at me 3 times and ignored me. I went back to the order window and asked a lady there if 96 was called. She walked right over to the bag that was sitting right by the woman working the pick up window that looked me in my face and ignored me. I said all of that to say… Colored women in Atlanta need to do better assisting another colored woman. If you don’t want to be helpful to customers and ignore them you should not work a public window. Work in the back where you don’t have to be asked a question from a customer. Good customer service in certain areas of GA sucks. This is why it’s difficult to patronize our own kind and we women of color can’t unite. Food for thought… I don’t care how good the food is if you have bad attitudes running your business especially the window. Customer will not return. Respectfully.

I'm all about a vibe. The food is great but the people... The Greatest. I've been adopted. Try the house wings. You won't be disappointed.

This was our first time having Taco Pete so I wasn’t sure what to expect. First off, the service was so great! The person on the phone was so nice and easy to order with. When I arrived they were very friendly and pick up was smooth. Now the food… it was good!! We got 3 crispy chicken tacos, 1 soft chicken taco, and 1 shrimp burrito. We LOVED the crispy tacos and would definitely order those again. The shrimp burrito was just ok, but not bad. The soft taco tasted great but was messy and mushy so recommend eating those very quickly if you do order them. We spent about $27 total which we thought was good deal. I would probably order more food next time. We were satisfied but not super full. Overall, the crispy tacos and the customer service alone are worth trying this spot. We will be back!

Best kept secret in Happeville! Great food, friendly staff and good bar atmosphere.

The customer service was amazing. My hubby and I ordered a lot of food and the young lady was exceptionally patient and understanding with us. She even tried to help us save a couple of dollars on our order 😊. This was my first time eating their food and I must say, those steak tacos & regular fries are my favorite. I will go again. We took our food to go.

Sooo these were by far the best tacos I’ve had. The hot sauce just takes the taco to the next level oh my Gawd 😳the chili cheese fries are so good…I didn’t get to eat them when they were hot so I went home and put them in the oven… put some ketchup and mustard on them with some Pete’s sauce good Lawd🙌🏾Soooo good only thing I was missing was they lemonade…next time though…y’all go get ya sum lol 😂I had two hard and 3 soft.

Small out of the way spot in Hapeville. Was visiting a friend in town who was staying at a hotel close to Taco Pete. We got there around 5, sat at the bar, and was promptly greeted by Chris. We ordered a round of drinks and asked about food. Chris gave us his top suggestions, so we tried the cheeseburger w/fries, wings, and a quesadilla. We ordered the quesadilla half chicken, half steak. They use burrito tortillas to make the quesadilla, because it was huge! Cut into 4 pieces-2 chicken, 2 steak, the chicken was better seasoned than the steak. Chris had told us they make their burger blend in house, so I ordered mine medium. It came out a tad more done than I ordered, but still juicy. The fries were seasoned, hot, and crispy. We spit the 10pc wings with 2 flavors, medium lemon/pepper and their House sauce. The wings were seasoned well and hot. Obviously, Taco Pete is well known in the area, because they had a busy takeout clientele coming through whole time we were there. Go see Chris. He kept the drinks flowing with excellent service. Reasonable prices too!

I was staying at a local hotel and this place was recommended to me so I rushed over (walking) because they were about to close. I was pleasantly greeted when I walked in and I asked if I need to take my order for a to go order because they were closing. I was told that was not necessary, please seat anywhere you want and we will bring you your order. This is a very big exception as most places when I have come in close to closing I would not even be able to place an order. Thank you!!! My burrito and tacos were great. The cook brought them to my table and I began to "chow down." The staff was cleaning up doing what they do at closing and never once made me feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. So out of my curiosity I asked one of them if the owner was in...He sure was, as he WAS the owner. What a pleasant conversation we had! The food, service, atmosphere, and staff were top notch and even now after 3 hours no heartburn as can happen with spicy homemade sauce. Just a wonderful business night meal on the road! I will be back at the same hotel in the future just to return and have another wonderful meal. If you are reading this as a potential customer please by all means go and enjoy a "not-so-fast food meal" (meaning this is genuine homemade food) it really is a good eating experience, Thank you Reo!

This place continues to be delicious!!! Sooo thankful they answer and let you pick it up so I can get my taco and wing fix without waiting. The inside is back open now, but a sign asks you to limit your time to 1 hour seated. The bar is open as well.

Stopped for a quick lunch. I ordered their stuffed chicken quesadillas and within five minutes my order was ready. The food was really good. I'll definitely return.

My daughter and I visited Taco Pete yesterday for the first time. I really wasn't expecting much. However we were pleasantly pleased. The food was delicious. We ordered shrimp tacos,steak tacos and a cheeseburger. Everything was hot and fresh. Oh I forgot we also purchased the sweet potato pie.... DELICIOUS!!!! Everything was soooo good. I will definitely be back soon!!!

As a southern Californian there is a distinct taste that excellent black owned taco spots must provide and this place did not disappoint. It's tucked behind iHop and the bar is basic but it will be a regular in my future. Service was fast.

Great food from an awesome family run business. I was in the area for a work trip and got recommended here by a local. I couldn't tell from the reviews but they have a small bar too! The menu is limited but everything I tried was really good. Make sure you order tacos so you can try their home made hot sauce. It's amazing! I came at a weird time so sat at the bar but it was nothing but laughs, good food and a great experience. Will def come back when in the area.

I did a pickup order for a birthday party a month ago and the customer service is amazing + they made it super easy. These are also our fav tacos - shrimp and steak are our favs!

What a great set up! These folks have partnered with Beer Girl in Hapeville and it works out great. Me and some of the guys went to Beer Girl after work last night to have a couple beers. On the table is the QR code for Taco Pete. We scanned, ordered, and about 30-40 minutes later they delivered to our table! Talk about convenience! On top of that, the food was really good. I had their chili cheese nachos and a steak quesadilla and both were great. Everything came still hot and fresh, and the taste was excellent. Their sauce does have a little kick to it, I loved it. Prices are on par with or maybe even a little less than most food trucks I've eaten from. Stop in and see'em, or order while you are having a beer, you won't regret it.

Arrived at the location at 6:40 pm to be told they were closed. I started calling at 6:00 pm to order ahead and they never answered any of the calls. Thanks for wasting my time and gas. Sad part about this is when you try to support businesses of color this is how you are treated. If I were at Longhorn they wouldn't push you away until after closing time, not 20 minutes before. So its 6:54 pm and Im still here typing this review. A caucasian couple walked up and their order was taken AFTER the man told me they were closed. Lol O I get it now. This place is awesome. They have a variety of food and great service. Whenever I go I am seated right away. This has become my new go to for Taco Tuesday. Update: I ordered the nachos and I was so disappointed. I received a bag of chips and container of cheese, like the basic concession stand or movie theater nachos.

First off let's give a round of applause for Yelp's outstanding commitment to making sure this food traveled to me safely. Let's get to the good stuff! The food is, and always will be, DAMN good! And that's on period! I ordered 6wings which were generous coated with honey bbq and mild sauce. And no, they weren't struggling wings either, they seemed to have had a good life because they were juicy. The tacos were delicious! I didn't expect anything less from good ol' taco Pete anyways. The nachos were delicious! Swapping out those chips with fresh ones will absolutely change the game though. The service was quick, and seemed like whoever made my food genuinely cared that it came to me looking and tasting good. I appreciate that

If I tell you that I had some of the best chicken wings I have ever had add a taco place, you will probably not believe me. But you better, because this is exactly what the place is about. I really enjoyed the chicken wings, two flavors of the lemon pepper and hot wings and both were equally amazing. Their turkey cheeseburger is also good actually so good that I ate two of them and was absolutely stuffed. The staff is nice and very friendly. If you are Nice to them they will really take care of you like family. Great place to come out, chill and spend some good time with family and friends.

After trying the food at Taco Pete, I really felt some type of way that no one told me how good the food was previously. It's not close to where I live, but I was in the area after a hair appointment and decided to stop by. At the time I went, only takeout was available. They have a few combos, but I decided to order a la carte. I ordered hard shell ground beef taco, a soft shell shrimp taco and 5 lemon pepper wings. The shrimp taco was my favorite. Although it's simple, all the ingredients were fresh and the lightly cooked shell really made a difference. The wings were delicious and could rival any well known Atlanta staple. Their homemade lemonade is delicious as well. The prices were extremely reasonable and the food was delicious. Needless to say, I will be a returning customer.

I've loved Taco Pete ever since the first time I had it. I typically go to the Main Street location, but they're closed due to COVID. However, the Bistro is up and running for takeout and delivery via GrubHub. I'd been craving Taco Pete for weeks, so on Friday, I finally decided to drive down and get some. I called in my order before I left home. I ordered three soft shell tacos (2 beef, 1 shrimp) and an order of French fries. I wanted one of their mini sweet potato fries, but they were sold out. I was told it would be 10-15 minutes, so I hopped in the car and headed there. When I was almost there, I got a call saying my food was ready. When I arrived, I went inside to pay and pickup my food promptly, and I actually wound up eating in my car because I didn't wanna wait and I didn't want my food to get cold on the 20 minute drive home. I haven't had Taco Pete in about a year or two and boyyy, how I've missed it! The tacos had a nice crisp to the outside from being heated on the griddle. There were so many juicy toppings inside that they almost fall out the taco and the juice runs down your arm lol. Just goodness! The fries weren't as crispy as I would've liked, but they were still good and seasoned with some type of dry taco seasoning. When I tell y'all I tore that food UP! Lol I was left feeling super and almost euphoric. I'd forgotten how much I missed this place! Keep doing your thing, Taco Pete!

Food always simply AMAZING, however there customer service lacks terribly, I placed a pickup order over the phone my order was taken completely wrong I can't even eat the meat they claimed I ordered so I KNOW I didn't say anything like that . Once I arrive I notice my order is wrong after paying , so once I notified the employees I was told I had to pay the difference which was .36 cent .. obviously .36 cent isn't much AT ALL , however I ordered over the phone because I was in a rush not only was I unconvinced and had to wait for my whole order to be prepared but I FELT like good customer service wouldn't have mad such a big deal about .36 cent tax , that small interaction let's me know my business isn't appreciated so I won't be returning .

I had an amazing time here tonight. And I will definitely be back. Upon walking in we were greeted by a smiling face. The inside is very clean and there is ample space to be comfortable. The menu offers a variety of items and has something for everyone. I ordered some wings and 2 tacos. The wings were very good. Well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The tacos were very fresh with fresh fixings and a homemade sauce that pairs well with the flavors. The waitress was very tentative to my table and engaged in conversation with us as it was our first time. To end the meal, I ordered the chocolate cake and OMG. All I can say is Ahhhhhhhhh-Mazing. I think I have found my new Taco getaway.

I had a 14-hour layover and stayed in a nearby hotel. It was attached to Taco Pete's, so that's where we went for food and beverages. Would I go back? Sure! The staff was really friendly. There were only a couple beers on tap, but they were good. One was local from Hapeville and actually was a Mexican dark lager style. It was done well. My buddy ordered the fajitas, and he enjoyed them. I gorged myself on chips, salsa, guacamole, and beans. They make the guacamole to order, so it might take a few minutes, but it's worth the wait. Beer prices were a little high, but it was vacation. Check 'em out.

It's was pretty good for quick Mexican food we both got steak burritos. The steak was really good it's shredded so that was a nice surprise. The meals come with like 5 chips so if you want chips definitely order nachos. We ordered the cheese nachos as well it just comes with queso, sour cream, pickled jalapeños but they were very good. Only down side is I'm a soda drinker And they charge $1 for refills. It was filling and I definitely recommend it.

My goodness friends I am at a loss for words here. As a California native it is hard to find Mexican street style food that meets the mark of home. This place makes me genuinely consider relocating here. WOW ! Food was hot, fresh and absolutely delicious. We split the chilli cheese fries for an appetizer and those alone were worth the trip. For mains my wife had a steak quesadilla and a steak taco. I had a shrimp quasadilla loaded (peppers,tomato & onion) and a couple steak tacos. Every single thing was amazing. The house made hot sauce was so good I have a case on preorder for when they market it (later in the year according to the owners daughter). Listen do not miss this place. Directly across from the entrance to the Best Western on N. Central Ave. Anyone staying here owes it to themselves to experience this place. And locals are you kidding me?? There should be a line out the door at this spot, get your grub game right ATL. I will be eating here and only here for the remainder of my stay here in Atlanta. Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Price 10/10 Quality 10/10 No joke best food I've eaten in this area. Look at the photo that ain't staged, that ain't photo shop, that's real and it was even better than it looks.

Being from Cali I trying to find places that reminds me of home any chance I get. This is one of those places. The first bite had me like "Yup new favorite spot" The place is tucked in between McDonald and the entrance of the hotel. It has seating outside and plenty of space inside too. The bar will always be filled with guest blowing off stream and the staff is friendly. I got the chicken burrito add sour cream. Getting it again!

Perfect end to our 5 day vacation!! There are a few things that are different on this menu compared to the original location. The food was on point & so was our bar tender Elizabeth! The food is always consistently good at the original location & this location appears to be no different. I had 6 wings, fries & a house salad. All were excellent!! They don't open until 5 so you can't do lunch here!

This spot came to Hapeville when Joffrey's Cafe left. It's convenient for thos lodging at the Best Western hotel. Elizabeth was very warm & welcoming as were all the staff. The food was just ok. I got the two chicken tacos with rice & beans. The tacos were basic. The rice & beans had a different taste that wasn't of my liking. My friend liked his shrimp taco salad. It's a nice addition to the neighborhood. The prices are reasonable. I'll return for a second try & try another food selection. I applaud this restaurant for effort. However I liked Joffrey's more & they offered a different type of food to the neighborhood (e.g. samosas, fresh baked cakes, etc.). There's free parking spaces surrounding the building.

Best unknown place for lunch. Great tacos and hot wings. Fries are great too. Give this place a try you won't be disappointed. Ask for the Reo special on the tacos one of each with fries. Soft shell. Nobody competes with Pete's. Hard to find. The location is in the hotel parking lot behind IHOP same building.

Y'all do NOT understand!!!! When I say this was a touch of home and kissed my soul!!! I never thought I'd eat Taco Pete's again since I moved to Atlanta, but to find out this was them melted my soul. I literally ordered everything my memory used to let me get when I was younger!!! The consistency is STILL the same!!! I had to FaceTime my mom and she was in disbelief and on her way lol! Thank you and blessings over both locations!! I will forever come back!!!

So the fact that this place is inside a hotel is not the reason for the one star. Just wanted to make that clear. We try restaurants in many places around and on the outskirts of Atlanta. We arrived here a little before 10 as we'd just left the corner tavern and wanted something to eat. Upon walking in, the hostess greeted us very nicely and we asked to sit at the bar. (Hence the reason this place didn't get 0stars) After sitting at the bar, the bartender was rushing us to take an order. We had never been there before, so I'm guessing that annoyed her... idk. Anyways, I ordered a chili-cheese dog and my girlfriend ordered chili-cheese fries. After placing the order, I noticed one of the cooks kept walking past the door staring at my girlfriend. She's beautiful, so I can see someone looking or doing a double take. But FIVE TIMES?!?! That's super creepy man lol When the food got out, we were excited! However, my chili-cheese dog was super burnt and A.G.'s fries were hard. Two of the easiest things and somehow they were too lazy to make them correctly? Adding chili and cheese doesn't cover up the fact that the hotdog is burnt. Smh. When we were ready to check out, I asked the lady to do it when she was finished sweeping the bar area. I didn't want to be inconvenient regardless of how horrible our visit was going. She unfortunately took 15 minutes to close out my order because my "do it when you're done" obviously meant "Do it once you stop gossiping with your co-worker". Smh never going here again.

This Pla e is a RIP OFF!!!! I will never go to this location ever again...why? Because I placed a phone order & on the phone the young girl who was suppose to take my order "did not"...when I arrived she said she canceled my order cause my phone hung up while I was asking her questions. This mad absolutely no since, why did t she call me back to confirm if she had concerns about the order I placed. Not only was the customer service on the phone was bad but. she needs to take some training from Chic Filet employees due to the non-customer service I received. Secondly, I only ordered a beef burrito nothing special JUST a simply burrito and she rung me up for $10.72. I asked what all you charging me for...? She said a burrito which is $9.??...tax added it's $10.72. So I then asked...it that for a combo? She said no, I only charged you for a burrito. I said $11 for a burrito, I said, I never got charged that much in Cali not in E.Point location! I turned around and proceeded to walk off. So finally...guess where I am as I type the Taco Pete in Main Street & guess who much was tea burrito here $6.35 (which appear to of went up by estimate of a $1.00) which is perfectly fine. And I just purchased a beef combo burrito added potatoes, rice received fries & a drink all fir $13.00. Do not go to Main Street location their prices are kicked up by 50 %!!!! Not cool at all.

I love it!!! Food always fresh and flavorful! The food was hot. The sauce was just right to compliment the seasoning of the chicken and the flavor from the fresh cilantro. I will be coming back soon.

I've been enjoying Taco Pete since I moved to Atlanta and was super excited to find out they were opening an actually sit down restaurant close by! To start, I had family in town and I wanted to grab some food on our way home from the airport, it was roughly 10:35pm when we arrived to Taco Pete's and after we sat down, the waitress came and informed us that the kitchen had closed but she would see what they could do. Needless to say, we were not disappointed! The cook gladly accepted our late arrival and prepared our food promptly. Everything came out amazing! I ordered my usual, chicken tacos and chili cheese fries, my family ordered a variety of tacos including shrimp, chicken and beef, soft and hard shell. Everyone enjoyed their meal and there wasn't a crumb left behind! Besides being affordable, and delicious, this place has amazing customer service! Check them out if you're in Atlanta! I am not sure why this place has high reviews. This was a waste of my time and money. First issue was it took 30 minutes for four tacos and rice. I asked when I ordered, I asked how long it would take and the lady told me 15 minutes. At 30 minutes, I politely asked how much longer and immediately gave me a nasty attitude and said they had a lot of orders. I love mexican food and have gone to a lot of takeout mexican places and it didn't take 30 minutes. The worst part of waiting 30 minutes is when someone is extremely rude to you when you didn't give them the same energy. Secondly, the food is just blah. Food was not seasoned well at all. There is a Taco Bell next door and flavor is about on the same level. You would be better off just making the food at home than going to Taco Pete.

Was staying at the Best Western for an early flight the next day. The atmosphere is a little sterile but the hamburger was great! Soft bun and the burger was very moist. The margarita was just right after a long week.

Just as good as the original. Amazing wings, the best lemon pepper in Atlanta. They have the perfect size and crunch, very few places I've had wings at hit those points so well simultaneously. The tacos are excellent, the best crunchy beef taco I've ever had. The soft shells are excellent too as they grill them a little to give it some crispness. They're taking covid seriously with a good pickup system. Taco Pete is always on point.

It was an extremely long tough day with a layover in Atlanta. Getting to the hotel at 11:15, food options were extremely limited, so my wife and I walked around a bit. Taco Pete's google review said it was closed but when we tried the door we were greeted right away and welcomed to come sit at the bar. We were given menus and told not to worry about the time. Their goal was to "make us happy". We ordered wings in the house sauce and they were fantastic. Have to try the house sauce!!! We were also given chips and cheese as a free starter. They were in no rush after their closed time and made us feel so welcomed. This place was such a great find I dare say a layover in Atlanta could even be welcomed again.

The wings!!!!!! I know this is a Taco place but the wings were a hit! I was mad I didn't get more because it was our last day at the nearby hotel. Tacos were delicious too. We ordered from a few restaurants from doordash but had we known about this place - we would have stuck with them the entire stay. Very good and friendly staff!

The tacos are good, some of the best in the area. As a foodie blogger, I've suggested them to LOTS of ppl. But they definitely need to get better with their level of service. Especially considering they're solely take out. I was on a lunch break (2:15pm) when I called in to order my food (3 tacos) & was told it was gonna take 20 min. When I got there in 20 min there was a line to get in cause they only allow 1 person in at a time. After waiting 15 additional minutes in the line, another lady comes back cause they messed up or order cause they were out of chicken. Then another lady came in to get her order. By 2:45 pm my food was not ready. Then when she brought the order up twice ... it was the wrong order. This will probably be my last time here cause their hours only accommodate me during the lunch hour. But I can't spend majority of my lunch break waiting for food, especially if I called in ahead of time.

Always amazing tacos. I try to make this my "Taco Tuesday" designated restaurant. The shrimp are grilled to perfection and the chicken tacos are marinated well. Love this spot. I'm there often and I love the service. Always full of smiles, good energy and a loving vibe. If you're in the mood for tacos, check this spot out asap!

Not Great but Not Bad. Service was good, a little slow with preparing the food, the server was nice. I don't think I would make this my "go to" spot but if I am staying at the local hotel I would visit again.

The reviews weren't wrong! The tacos were delicious, as were the chili cheese fries, but I definitely wish I'd skipped them and gotten more tacos! It's a shame we leave so early tomorrow or I'd definitely pick up an order of beef tacos to go. Extra bonus: the gal who took our order was really hospitable and friendly. We are all smiles and full bellies!

It's late at night. Downtown Atlanta is 10 miles away from the airport Best Western I'm staying at for the night. I'm hungry. What do I do? Well, Taco Pete is right outside the hotel and it's open till 11pm. Not much choice. Beggars can't be choosy, so my expectations aren't very high. You know what? I like this strategy because I am pleasantly surprised! Mostly, their staff is very friendly and attentive. I came in at 10:15pm and they close at 11pm. They let me know that the restaurant would be closing soon, which usually would irritate me, but something about the way she said it wasn't off putting and she and her and co-worker didn't give me any attitude. Food? I have a quesadilla and it's hot, the ground beef is tasty and not salty, the tortilla has just the right amount of crisp and it even comes with a little side of lettuce, tomatoes, and cilantro. Cilantro! Really? That's cool! I also have a glass of pinot noir. Decent selection of drinks to go along with such simple food. I ask if they have sweet potato pie. "Noooo," the server says apologetically, "But we have chocolate cake with ice cream. It's reeallly gooood especially cause we warm it up." How can I say no? She's right. It's comforting and the ice cream is of Haagen-Dasz quality. I'll sleep good tonight before my 11 hour flight back to Hawaii tomorrow morning.

This place is one of a kind! We just tumbled in to ATL. Via Montego Bay, after a super long week of not so great food! Our flight was delayed before we even left MBJ missed our connection, ended up at the BW, an then stumbling, bumbling fell into Taco Pete! The host, bartender and the entire staff are hands down the best! Drinks were so damm good! The food was just shy of flavor town, but oh so damm good! It was very comfortable and relaxing just to be able an take a load off! This fine group of humans made us so glad to be back in the USA! You will not be disappointed! 1st time going to Taco Pete I can guarantee the next one I get to go better measures up this one!
