10 Places for Rainy Day Dining in Miami - Eater Miami

"Taco Rico has seven locations throughout Miami, meaning there’s a large likelihood that there’s one on the route home. The Tex-Mex joint has all the south of the border staples. Share a platter of nachos or go handheld with the burrito and supersize it for guaranteed leftovers. Take advantage of the lunch platters being served until 4 p.m. that include rice, beans, chip and salsa for under 8 bucks." - Amber Love Bond

Google
Cheat Day, and was craving a Beef stuffed Wet Burrito 🌯. I felt they could have added more ground beef but the Burrito was packed with rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. to make up for it. In other words, VERY filling for a regular size or go even larger with their "Ultra Burrito," which All meals come with their signature tortilla chips and a Great variety of sauces you fill yourself, to your liking. This is a Great dive situated for MANY, MANY years right off of US1 and that should tell you something. Parking is limited, especially at lunch time, so get there before or after the rush. Food is tasty and prices are Very reasonable. Stop in and ENJOY a taste of Mexico! 🇲🇽

I have been coming to Taco Rico since I was a kid in the 90s. It's always been a favorite for my dad, brother, and me! The Coral Gables location has barely changed since then and is so nostalgic to walk into. The food is absolutely fantastic and I am never disappointed with anything I try. I love the salsa bar so we can get a little of each salsa that a family member likes and mix and match. It's got to be one of my favorite restaurants in Miami!

Google
my go-to lunch spot for fantastic tacos at unbeatable prices. Their Tacos Al Pastor are a standout, perfectly balancing savory marinated pork with the sweet tang of pineapple. Each bite is bursting with flavor, and the generous portion sizes ensure you leave satisfied. The casual atmosphere and friendly staff only add to the experience. If you’re in the mood for authentic and affordable Mexican cuisine this is the place to go!

The food was hot & EXCELLENT! The staff was amazing. I'm from out of town and was staying nearby. I walked about .60 of a mile to get there. Once i returned to my room with my food in tow, it was still hot. They did an amazing job of packing it up. Below is the picture b4 eating and afterward. I'm craving for the food right now.

Google
Although I enjoy this place consistency seems to be an issue. Over the week end I went and picked up a Taco platter consisting of 3 tacos. Only 2 were semi filled one had less ingredients than taco bell. The tortillas were doughy and soggy in liquid of some sort. I get the same platter everytime. Sometimes it'sperfect. Going to lay off for awile after this. .

Google
ONE STAR - DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!! Yesterday, my coworker and I both ordered from Taco Rico. We each got the chicken fajitas. That same night, we both started feeling horrible—severe stomach aches and diarrhea that kept us up all night. Now it’s the next day, and we’re both still sick. It’s obvious the food made us ill. This is serious—DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT A STOMACH BUG. We’re extremely disappointed and honestly disgusted. Please be careful.

Ordered online Months ago and decided the next time I visit Miami that I would go to actual location. Food was so good and fabulous 👌🏾 service. It did not disappoint. Thanks Again.

Google
I came here for lunch. I ordered the loaded fish tacos and the carne asada plate. The food looks good. Medium rare looks to be medium rare. The inside could use some touch ups, but that could be due to covid19. Anyway the food looks good and the price wasn't bad. I do recommend

Yelp
Great food! I've bought only for pick up and everything is fresh the sauces are good the guacamole was a little maybe older (been sitting and starts to get dark) other then that the service is great

Yelp
Good (but not great) Mexican option when you're driving home on US1 and need a fast meal that's not fast food. Taco Rico is a staple in this little strip of still-standing shops in Coral Gables, and while I don't come often, I appreciate having a budget-friendly option for when I do. I usually get a burrito (very filling), quesadillas (great for sharing), or a taco salad (when I want to pretend I'm being healthy). Sometimes, I crave the soup of the day, but it's not the best bang for your buck at $7 a small bowl. The guac, salsas, and chips are fresh, and I think their frescas are refreshing. Sometimes, they over-season the proteins and my friend's steak fajitas were a little charred last we went, but it's quick, cheap, and the service is friendly. Parking is a little tricky during busy times - there isn't an alternative lot, and since the spaces are shared with other businesses, it can be a little bit of a double-parked hassle. We opt to sit outside since the inside gets super busy and loud, but that also means we get some exhaust from cars idling in the parking lot.

Yelp
$10.50 lunch special was too big for me to finish! Burrito, taco, and a side plate of rice and refried beans with cheese. Delicious. The servers there really make the place special. They know the menu, give great recommendations, and keep it clean. When you order you also get chips and salsa as well that you can take to your seat.

Yelp
okay so let's start with the good: the food was really good and the flavor was traditional and fresh. For my shrimp quesadilla they were very generous with the shrimp which is something I thought was nice. The tacos also looked good but the beans looked sus so I didn't try that. I also really liked how they had the sauces as a serve yourself station since that makes things easier for everyone. I will say I would not get food there again due to the state of the restaurant alone. The place was dirty and clearly so outdated, the decor was so cheap and everywhere you looked was dirty; the crazy thing is that with a small place like that wouldn't cost nearly as much as other places to make it look brand new. I might maybe order takeout but until they change the place it's going to be hard to keep customers.

Yelp
Some people would call this a Hole in the Wall but it's on US1 in Coral Gables and it's fantastic. The food quality is always great and the service is impeccable.

Yelp
Called about catering for 120 ppl. before i could finish my sentence they told me they were busy and hung up on my face. i will literally never ever support this resturant again. There's ways to speak to people. you lost $1000.00 + over a 10$ lunch!?!?!? talk about stupidity!!! i'm literally in shock.. business owners, don't let ppl answer your phones if you aren't confident they can handle customer service. They will cost you more than they are worth. i'm one person worth thousands a year in dining and catering. imagine 10 of me or more. it's crazy!

Yelp
Service was overall good but that's as good as it gets for this place. Coming from CA and trying the food here it was bland and lacked seasoning. I got the burrito which is nothing to brag about. The meat lacked flavor and salt. I got the quesadilla for my kid and he was not impressed. It doesn't get better from there we got a side of beans and they had no flavor hospital food has more seasoning than those beans did. One of the hot sauces did have a kick to it which was nice since I like spicy. Overall I would not return to this establishment.

Yelp
There are very few mexican style restaurants that know how to serve quality food with good service. This is one of them. Not only is the ambiance nice and welcoming, the food is amazing! Try the Loaded Tacos w/ Chicken & soft shell tacos, it's literally out of this world! Shout out to their queso dip as well!

Yelp
Expensive and small portions. The carnitas burrito was small and the taste was subpar

Yelp
Taco Rico is still a 4! I have been ordering here as an alternate to Taco Bell Bc my husband has been getting annoyed at my taco addiction. I usually order loaded hard shell bean tacos with Rico hot sauce- this is delicious, crispy and filling Rice can sometimes be a little dry Refried beans in the winner I've since my last review gone plant forward. I have enjoyed the Refried bean taco salad Queso is always awesome and I do love their new potato dippers. It's reminiscent of potato skins. If you want an alternate for fast food, go or order from here!

Yelp
This is dependable, no frills establishment. I used to work across the street and we would come to this location for the lunch special. Even though I no longer work nearby, it is a go-to spot when we want some basic Tex mex, free chips and cheap drinks. Staff is always serving with a smile, even at their busiest.
google avatar

Christopher V.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, but the food is mediocre. Nothing will blow you away, honestly I'm shocked at all the five star reviews this place has. I get dragged here by my colleagues so I've tried a sizable portion of the menu, I can honestly say there isn't a single menu item that I love. Very average.

Yelp
This location is by far the best one in Miami! I ordered the vegetarian fajita salad, and was so happy with my meal. Unlike other places that try to add "protein" with poorly cooked tofu or others that just give you a fajita salad sans meat, this chef actually added broccoli, cauliflower, and zucchini to the salad. These veggies also were deliciously seasoned with mexican spices. Overall, great lunch! Fresh, plentiful, tasty vegetarian salad with chips, salsa, and an iced tea for a very affordable price. Will be back!

Yelp
They have take outs for the whole family Wish the amount of beans and sour cream be less A whole tray is too much The food is good tasting but need to lower the amount of beans and sour cream a real waste Increase some other ingredients Good service G

Yelp
SOLID lunch spot. I have been coming here since I went to college in UM. I don't want to date myself but lets just say its been a long time. They have amazing specials and their food is always good. I do not and I repeat do not recommend eating at Taco Rico. I have since the beginning of me eating here have never actually EATEN HERE. I have always ordered pick up or to go. This location is tiny. The parking is limited and very tight if you do find some. They do provide outside seating due to covid but not much. Employees are wearing masks and they also require customers to wear masks. Mondays are their taco days NOT tuesday so do not get confused. They have $1 tacos which are pretty good. I always get their queso which is super addicting with ground beef. Last time I got their soft tacos and it was good. I repeat this is a place for straight lunch and thats it. This is no fine dining establishment. You want a lunch option once a week delivered to you with an app this place is great. I recommend it once a week and I can honestly say I probably eat this every two weeks. Beats taco bell and all the other nearby taco spots.

Kenneth F.

Yelp
I am using the app for the first time and order some food. When I call to ask if they have delivery, they told me that they need to cancel my order and use the Uber Eat app. I don't want to cancel my order bc I can pick it up but the manager cancel it and then he told me that he's too busy and hung out the call on my face. Now I going to receive my money back in five days. I don't recommend this restaurant because of the manager. It's a shame because the food is good.

Yelp
It's hard to find hard tacos with mexican rice and refried beans like this in Miami so I'm super happy I found this place. The food was great, I especially love their salsa verde
google avatar

Mel E.

Yelp
I love it! Yummy quesadillas, chips and guacamole. We loved it and now have a great Mexican spot to introduce others to.
google avatar

Charles J.

Yelp
I got the $6.99 Lunch Special "B" which is a taco, small burrito, yellow rice and a side of refried beans. It was pretty good. I liked how the chicken was seasoned. I just wish there was a truly legit sauce to go along with this meal... something like a creamy chipotle sauce or something reminiscent of a spicy may but for a Mex place. I must say, the prices are very reasonable, which favors me coming back to try more menu items. I am definitely trying out the enchilada Lunch Combo "C" on my next visit which I'm planning on that for next Monday. The parking is a bit tight but it works!

Ryan S.

Yelp
Taco Rico has been here forever. I want to say even since the 80s, but I was just a kid back then. Needless to say, they make great Mexican food and I always get the beef burrito with their complement of sauces on the side. A staple go-to place which hopefully will be here even in 2080.

Yelp
Best fajitas I have ever had -- and i have had many in both Dallas and Miami. Amazing service and great customers. A hidden gem.

Yelp
Let's taco 'bout Taco Rico: where you can dine on a budget and all your taco dreams can come true! I've been hitting up this spot for years and it remains on point every visit. Perk No. 1 - You can order via Yelp Food Delivery for pickup or delivery. Tacos without moving from your couch, sign me up! Perk No. 2 - who needs taco Tuesday when you can celebrate tacos errrr damn day!? Monday's are their taco specials, where you can enjoy them for $1 a pop. Perk No. 3 - sour cream. Ok, I know that's not earth shattering but I loooove that Taco Rico uses the good stuff. And by good I mean you know this condiment is nowhere near fat free. They have plenty of lunch platters offered daily here which will give you huge portions under $12! I love their Baja Chicken bowl, their burritos and their quesadillas. My go to filling for such things is always the steak. Last but not least their catering is phenomenal. They have a separate menu for party platters and it is realllly affordable. For my brother's graduation party (Taco 'Bout A Future) we ordered tacos, steak + chicken burritos, and some sides. The tacos come pre-prepared which is awesome so people don't over serve themselves. We requested the burritos be cut in half, and a half portion is huuuuge! The platters come in portions of 20 or 40, and for a party of about 40 people total I believe the catering bill was under $250 (with plenty of leftovers because we over-ordered)! Icing on the cake - it was delivered by a friendly face who helped us set up all the trays! Overall, Taco Rico is a solid spot for authentic Mexican fare that will not break the bank - but may do some work on that waistline.

Yelp
There's a first time for everything and today I ordered online through Yelp for the first time ever! *Throws confetti* I had been meaning to do it for ages, but one thing or another would pop up. That was no longer the case for lunch this Friday afternoon as I forgot to pack some lunch. Taco Rico to the rescue. The ordering process was easy smeasy. It took me all of five minutes to order and less than an hour's wait. The wait surprised me because it's Friday and I was told an estimated 60-75 minutes, but hey, I'm not complaining. Rock on, you, rock on. When lunch arrived, I was as happy as a clam. Chow time! I had my usual chicken fajitas with everything but sour cream. I hate sour cream. The chicken fajitas brought four tortillas, chicken with onions and peppers, yellow rice, refried beans, cheese, and guacamole. Oh, and add a side of chips and pico de gallo to all that. Delivery was $2.50, and with tip added, the total came close to $17. Definitely a lot more than I typically spend when I go to this fast food joint, but desperate times call for desperate measures and I was starving. I regret nothing. Well, except for the fact that I think it's better to eat at the restaurant. It's cheaper and the presentation is prettier.

Yelp
They have awesome lunch specials! Had the fajita, taco and chimichanga lunch special and it was delicious! Freshly made and it wasn't greasy at all! I also recommend the pork tacos and you can definitely venture out with the different options for tacos. Love the chips and salsa side dish that comes with it and every time I've gone, I've had a phenomenal experience! The staff is great and the food comes out right away.

Christine C.

Yelp
Got a delivery.. I definitely think they need to define homemade Tex mex. The burrito I received was room temperature and looked and smelled disgusting. It was supposedly a beef burrito with rice and beans. Everything in it tasted fake, and was all mashed together so it actually looked like dog food. The chips were also disgusting. No taste. The French fries were big in size but only a small amount in the portion. Again, lacked crispness and flavor. No flavor in the rice and beans. Granted, I'm a connoisseur of Mexican food; but this place should never have the word " homemade " or " Mexican " in their description. A taco place should serve homemade soft corn tacos. 2 stars because the delivery didn't take long. Lessoned learned.
google avatar

Lee E.

Yelp
Horrible. I got delivery through grub hub in this Yelp app. I ordered the fish tacos, a Perrier water, and a mango juice. When my food finally arrived, it was extremely cold. I'm only a mile away. There's no reason why this food should be so cold. When I finally opened the bag with the beverages, I found an Aquafina and an orange juice. Seriously? And I paid $3 for a Perrier and $3.50 for the mango juice?? That coupled with the cold, bland tacos makes this a one star place for me. The only thing ok about this order was the free chips. Wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Jaime K.

Yelp
Great lunch/dinner spot!! Service was fast and the workers were very nice. Complimentary chips and salsa was very good, and included a large selection of salsas to sample and choose from!! Grilled chicken tacos were good and did not fall apart. Beef hard tacos were perfect consistency and texture. Food was very fairly priced (under 15 dollars for 2)!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the area!!

Yelp
Wow- I almost want to order here again tonight before I head back home because it was THAT good! Super good deal for a LOT of realllllly good food. I ordered the fish taco platter. The fish (not sure what kind) was seasoned very well & cooked perfectly. They didn't cheat on toppings- filled with lettuce, cheese, tomato, onion, guacamole & sour cream. Your choice of hard or soft- I had the soft (as fish tacos should be) and they were excellent. The platter comes with 3, and 2 was more than filling! A side of rice & beans is included. The sides weren't anything special, but still good. What was impressive: ordering fried ice cream to-go for delivery. That's a total risk, but... It held up AMAZING! And omg, it was a HUGE dish!! Literally filled the entire container. Probably one of the best I have ever had. And because I am a foodie from the Phoenix area, I had to order the flan & see how it compares. ...can't say I was disappointed! The flan here was also outstanding. What put the cherry on top (besides the one literally included on top of the fried ice cream) was the delivery including 2 sides of tortilla chips & plenty of fresh salsa (a variety of mild & spicy) to accompany the order... and they remembered eating utensils/napkins! All the way around, this was great! The food was delicious, plentiful & more than affordable. Presentation was amazing for a delivery order- great experience. And I most likely will be ordering again this evening as I want to try more off their menu before leaving town tomorrow. Totally recommend this place & I look forward to coming back in the future next time I'm in Miami. The ONE thing that blows my mind when i read the menu, though... how does a cheese quesadilla cost $8?! That, in my opinion, is a little steep for a tortilla & cheese when the entire fish taco platter was only $10!

Yelp
What is Taco RICO? This is not an existential question. It strives to be an authentic DF Mexican taco joint that is unpretentious. Yet, if you have ever been to one of those you know the flavors in one of them explodes in your mouth and the ingredients are farm fresh. Alas, Taco RICO is not that. The best I can describe it is that it is a mid point between a Taco Bell and a sit down Mexican restaurant like Jaguar and or Rosa Mexicana. This time around I opted for the fish tacos and sat outside. The Taco was served with the standard red cabbage, cilantro, sauce on a soft tortilla Taco. The Taco was old and massed produced; definitely not home made. It tasted like it was straight out of a Publix taco kit. And that's my main critique of Taco RICO the food tastes as if it comes straight from a prepackaged source and merely reheated or nuked. The presentation has gotten better as the picture can attest too. However, I think the chain can use some home made items. That being said, it's a good cheap lunch alternative. Parking: tough, but manageable. Service: Luke warm. Seating: outside and inside. However ambiance in both are sorely lacking. Your view is US1.

Yelp
My husband was hungry and decided to grab takeout for us. I chose this place and got a Mexican corn and 3 el pastor tacos plate. My husband got the steak fajitas. It also came with chips, salsa, sour cream, and guac. Lots of options. It wasn't the best Mexican food I have ever had but it was fast and a great just fill me up food since we were both hungry. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but if we wanted something fast and quick and Mexican by the house we would probably grab food here again.

Chris C.

Yelp
I expected much more considering this is located in coral gables. The quality of the food is trash , the quesadilla was greasy and the steak inside was completely burnt and it was weak , barely anything inside. It cost me $30 for 2 plates of low quality foods. Let's not even talk about the burrito , you can let the picture speak for itself. The beef inside looked like dog food , the refried beans looked old and weak too. In all , you have the location and the traffic but you lack quality foods and ingredients. I do NOT recommend this place , your better off going to Taco Bell for half the price and better food than this nonsense.
google avatar

Samantha N.

Yelp
If I can give this joint no stars I would've in a micro second. Both woman at the register were not having a great day and it showed , not only with my group and I but anyone that walked in after us. We were very uncomfortable. I ordered a wet burrito. I could of sworn the menus says salsa roja not spaghetti marinera sauce . My poor vegetarian friend ordered and never got her food (they must of forgot to put the order in) when she finally received her meal they must of rushed it and accidentally put chicken in it‍ Let's just say she was not feeling good after Our visit.

Stephanie Michelle P.

Yelp
This place never disappoints! The food is always delicious and fresh! You can never go wrong with their classic chicken fajitas. I recently went for lunch and tried their lunch special "H" - it was a cheese quesadilla Hey chimichanga. I thought the quesadilla had chicken - I guess I read the menu wrong. The quesadilla wasn't anything special, but that chimiiiii thooooo - amazing! Why did I knock a star you ask? It took 45 minutes to get our lunch. There was a line, but it seemed like they stopped making the in house orders to make 30+ to go orders instead. No bueno. Delivery also takes minimum an hour.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here to Taco RICO in Coral Gable for the $.99 tacos. We ordered 33 Tacos, the total was $44.55. When we questioned the "le gal" inside she said that's because of tax. I looked online and it clearly said $.99 thru November 9,2019. When we went back in to ask for a Itemized bill, we were told the price is now $1.25 since the cost of tomatoes went up and everything went up. It is your job to change the price and honor your own price. It would of all been ok if the girl didn't say "first of all". FYI they sell tacos everywhere. Bad business practice to be rude to a customer who just asked a question. On calle Ocho they sell great tacos and no attitude. I'm just saying! PART 2 Ok so the owner Leland was quick to respond but missed the entire point. Whether it as fake news, or a fake post as you would call it, when a customer asks a simple question you do not get upset and start having an attitude. What happened to being polite and nice? I mean if you can't ask a question then why would you go eat there and deal with the tomfoolery? Again. YOU MISSED THE POINT. I ASKED A QUESTION IF YOU CANT JUST ANSWER WITHOUT ALL THE EXTRA AND TELLING ME THE PRICE OF TOMATOES WENT UP AND ALL THE OTHER SH** I will never eat there again. I am surprised you didn't try to explain rather talk about all the other stuff and not what I addressed.

Yelp
This is one of many reviews normally outstanding at the local taco Rico on S. Dixie Highway I guess people say everybody has a bad day today was extremely bad and disappointing first of all the cashier order taker couldn't have better social skills no fountain drinks that's OK will get a bottle of Pepsi no ice that's OK the Pepsi is warm soft taco certainly ask for hard shell set outside thank God went to Subway to get a large Coke with ice OK the enchiladas were outstanding we will return but just not the best experience catch me next time

Yelp
Very good Mexican fast food style excellent sauces made freshly in-house....Also very good soup...
google avatar

Yelp
They messed our order up and expected 5 people to eat one platter. Incompetent order taker. The food honestly tasted terrible. It had a fishy after taste, I'm assuming from cooking the food in the same place they cook their fish. I would not recommend.

Yelp
Ordered thru Eat24. We were hungry and decided rather than go get something close and faster, we would starve ourselves some more and order delivery from Taco Rico. It took over an hour for the food to be delivered at 3 on a Saturday afternoon. Next time, I will walk my hungry hiney someplace else. I ordered taco de la casa, which was supposed to be three CORN tortillas with my choice of pork, beef and chicken. What I got was three FLOUR tortillas, which I cannot eat. I had to scrape the filling out and eat. The pork was ok, the chicken was like eating a paper towel it was so bland and the beef was funky tasting, I am not even sure what spice blend they put on it. The rice was ok, but it was just rice, nothing Earth shattering. The refried beans were ok, too. My GF got the fish tacos and she liked her meal well enough, but said they could've used some more flavor. Overall, wouldn't bother ordering from here again. If your taste buds don't want flavor, then go ahead and go here, otherwise, I'd stay away.

Yelp
Carne Asada was burned and too salty. The only dish that was good was the fried ice cream.

Annika H.

Yelp
The service here is unmatched. The employees go above and beyond to ensure you are having a good experience. The food is great too (especially the Birria tacos) but the service really elevated this experience for me. Will be back! Love the outdoor and indoor seating
google avatar

Carlos R.

Yelp
A favorite spot for so many years now. I love the food, specially their hard shell tacos! The service is super fast and your order is always right. Stop in and try them out, if for whatever crazy reason you have not already.
google avatar

Zach S.

Yelp
A gem hidden on the US1. while this isnt typical traditional Tex - Mex from California, this hidden gem boasts a great lunch special with a water for easily under $10 bucks that is solid. You will even take home food from this lunch as well. Great hidden lunch spot for a change of pace from all the other central american foods here. I recommend the chimichanga, taco, and fajita combo lunch special.
google avatar

Zhen C.

Yelp
TLDR - If Tex-Mex were ice cream flavors, this would be vanilla. Maybe watered done with some 2% milk vanilla... From the outside, this place is very unassuming. A place that you'd think doesn't put too much into the decor, but will probably get you some Home-cooked authentic flavors. Turns out, the food is pretty unassuming too. As it should be. Cuz there's not really anything spectacular about it. I had a burrito, which had a great portion size, but I probably would go to Chipotle or even Moe's next time (I'm not a big Moe's fan btw). It's a good spot for a quick fix and if you're hungry for a large meal. I'm also not saying it's bad food either, it's just right in the middle sort of.

Gabriela B.

Yelp
Taco Rico was awesome! They have a full on vegan menu! For starters I had the guacamole with chips which was very fresh and delicious. I had a veggie quesadilla with mushrooms, spinach and cheese. It's was so good. Very flavorful. All the food was great. The wait was short and the customer service was on point. Parking can be a pain, but that won't stop me from returning. There's plenty of seating and it's very casual.

Yelp
Within walking distance from my apartment. I'm a big fan of Enchiladas and theirs are amazing. The staff is very friendly and efficient.

Yelp
I love this place. I come here at least once a week whenever on duty at the fire house! I luckily have the opportunity to walk to this location and pick up my meal . They usually are fast to make your order and you always get your meal hot! You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Burritos and tacos are amazing. Monday's are their taco special = $1 tacos beef , chicken, beans. Everyone who works here are nice and attentive to your needs. Place is always clean and a friendly atmosphere. If ever in coral gables and on US1 with an appetite for Mexican style food. Come here and you'll get a bang for your buck .!

Yelp
Tonight, ordered on Postmates.. Tacos loaded.. Arrived, cold and tasted just horrible... Worst tacos ever and they served it soft tacos. Chips and Salsa spilled in the bag and that was not edible either. Forgot my Pepsi as well. Tacos pastor was just tasteless pork chunks.. Luckily my dog ate them. Save your money and go elsewhere for Mexican.. This is Basuda.

Yelp
I've been going to this place for years. It's definately one of the better values for food, quality, and price in Miami and especially for the gables area. This is a true Tex-Mex place, lots of fried stuff! The lunch specials are a bargain, almost too much food for lunch sometimes! I usually come here for dinner and order the Fajitas (portion size does vary sometimes) which i always enjoy, sometimes they have their daily special pork tacos (forgot name) which are more like authentic Mexican food and are very tasty. Be careful, it's very easy to load up on the free chips and salsa and then get stunned by the gigantic portions of food. No big deal, just pack it up and eat it for lunch tomorrow!

Yelp
Omg!!! Cochinita Pibil!!! My husband and I went to this cafe after my doctor's appointment, and I saw the menu "cochinita Pibil", and this is a very typical Mexican dish that is not that easy to make and accomplish. The funny thing is that I have been craving this dish for days and I actually looked the recipe so I could make it, so of course that's what I ordered. At first I was skeptical, but of course I was gonna give it a chance, I wasn't expecting a lot, so in the mid time I ate the very crunchy and nice corn chips they give you with the amazing pico de gallo salsa that they have. And when I got my sizzling platter with my dish, I almost cried, but when I tried it I literally felt in Mexico, it was so juicy, so delicious and so authentic that I I had to give them the 5 stars they deserve. The place looks neat and clean, prices are not bad at all and the portions are enough, just love the place and dish so much. Very recommended and I'm looking forward on coming back
