One of my favorite places to go get a mexican torta (sandwich).. they have one called "torta cubana" which has milanesa (breaded beef), breaded chicken, and ham along with refried beans, cheese, pickled jalapenos, tomato, lettuce, and avocado (though they are kinda spotty on their avocado usage). Still the best torta.. I've compared them to the tortas at "Taqueria Tres Reyes" and must say the ones at Taqueria Tres Reyes are oily, bland, and overall lacking in the flavor department compared to the ones at Taco Rico. Taco Rico also uses fresh baked bolillo bread which they pick up at the Flor de Puebla Bakery right down the street.
Other mentionables are the delicious "quesadillas de huitlacoche" and "flor de calabaza".. yum! Their tacos are decent and tasty.... unfortunately I have yet to find some out of this world tacos in the area and that includes the ones from Taqueria Tres Reyes which taste bland to me.
Also I prefer to get my food to go from this place because although they do have a large seating area the jukebox is always blasting so loud you can't hear yourself think!! Otherwise I wouldn't mind eating there since the ambience is more family like (they don't serve alcohol) and therefore you get many families with children eating here not the same ambience as La Sirenita which if you're female makes you feel like you walked into a trap and the lions are ready to devour you...
