Netflix’s ‘Wild Wild Country’ Depicts an Outrageous Food Poisoning Spree | Eater

"A regional fast-food chain whose outlets were among roughly ten restaurants whose salad bars were deliberately contaminated with salmonella in 1984; the attack sickened an estimated 750 people and ultimately backfired politically on the perpetrators." - Greg Morabito

Google
Snappy rude service from older woman who works there alone. Very unwelcoming towards anyone not white. Tried to give this place a second chance but I just don't like her attitude. And $4.99 for a crisp bean burrito. Love Taco Time but this place is not worth it.

Google
Taco time means you better make time to find a Toliet. So grose. The steak in the steak burrito was chewy, the rice was crunchy, the churro was like chewing paste and the chicken crisp burrito was so blan! I should've saved my money and got a hot dog at the gas station

Google
Well, this is the only Taco Time for hundreds of miles.. being from the Pacific Northwest originally I’ll sometimes get the craving.. the food is good, however the service is absolutely horrible.. I’d say about half the time I come here there’s no employee found anywhere.. you ask the Burger King people next-door..crickets usually…I’m actually waiting right now sitting down. I haven’t yet ordered because there’s no one here. A Burger King employee just told me “she’s in the shitter” I’ve been waiting almost 10 minutes. I’ll give it another couple minutes and then leave. Maybe I’ll have better luck next time. 🤞

I was excited to eat there... been a awhile. Tacoburger was lukewarm.. I seen her zap the bun. Bun was hard from over micro. Meat wasn't even hot. Very disappointed...

Google
Look at these photos. We are human beings not rats. This is disgusting. The blobs of flesh posing as human beings at this place HAVE to be removed. Every single one. Including the Burger King next door. The culture is rotten to the core. Replacing one at a time will just ensure that, one replaced employee becomes infected with the sub-human standards that the core group currently possess. This is not meant to be funny. It’s a wake up call to the owners. Zoom in on these photos and really look at what they are doing to people.

After leaving a scathing review (and 1 ⭐) of a previous visit to a Taco Time, we are thrilled to review that not all Taco Time's serve nasty food! The Taco Time in the TA in Vegas gets 5⭐'s! Dominique took our order and prepared our meals. Friendly, knowledge and quick! 2 burritos, a side of rice, a quesadilla, and large fries. All well prepared and served hot! Thank you Dominique for restoring our faith in Taco Time! Great customer service! 👏🏆🥇

Rude front counter help. Food was okay but I've had much better.

Google
We eat Taco time a couple times a month. They are the only location in las Vegas so you'd think their standards would be up to par. The only good worker they have is the Hispanic lady who is there 90% of the time. When she isn't there they borrow the lazy kids from burger king next door who could care less if my order is correct, if they made it right, or whether they were even trained to work at Taco time. Who knows?! I can tell you that their menu items are not cheap either. That said- if I'm spending almost $5 for one taco & I get at least 3tacos for 4people the cost is over $50.00! That's not including sides or drinks.....I don't mind paying for quality tacos, whatever the price is, no problem. I dunno when the last time you changed the oil in your fryers, but the oil is bad! Last but NOT least-- you need to lower your prices or fire those lazy kids that gave me tacos that look like this !!! Wow, right?!

Yelp
A friend of mine and i are both from Seattle, we were in Vegas and had heard there was a taco time, obvious stop. We were at the counter, a young guy was at the register with an older guy watching him. I asked " do you use sour cream or ranch in the soft taco?" The young guy said, sour cream- the older guy says, you lookin for that Seattle style mix right? I said yes you get it. He made it for us, it was awesome!!! This guy behind the counter was so cool to us. The food was great, but that customer service was the best, i wish i knew his name. He made all the losses in vegas not song so bad. If your reading this , you were awesome, and very very appreciated. Customer service seems to be but a memory, you restored it in 1 day, i have told everyone i know about this experience. You Sir are exceptional
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible customer "service". I told the lady that I wanted sour cream on ALL my things, which was one burrito and two tacos. I didn't receive it on the two tacos and so I go back to the counter to tell her and she gives me attitude like "you didn't order it". I told her to put some in a cup and she proceeded to go back to cooking and then took care of another customer and then went to the back to cook again. I'm standing there literally right in front of her the whole time and finally I said "take your time but hurry up". We'll needless to say they refused to give me sour cream so whether I ordered it or not is irrelevant at this point. Just do the right thing for your customer and give me the damn sour cream. It's called doing the right thing it's called customer service but they haven't figured out any of that they just wanted to be lower class. Well enjoy your one star Yelp review. I just put both tacos on the counter and left. No wonder there is only ONE location in all of Vegas. Do better!

Yelp
The food here it good! It's like Del Taco but more expensive. I got a crisp meat burrito ($5.39) and my husband got a crisp bean burrito ($4.79). These are thin fried burritos, like a chimichanga and a flauta had a baby. They are tasty but the price seems a bit high for what you get. We like to stop here when we visit Vegas. The problem is the service; people feel like they don't want to be here. They are always running a skeleton crew, which isn't too surprising. We asked for the 2 crisp burritos and didn't realize we were charged for a soft bean and cheese burrito. Husband went to let them know and the manager or lady in charge was telling the other employee as if my husband had changed his mind after we got our food. This wasn't the customer's fault, it was just a mistake at the register. Next time maybe don't blame the customer but just fix the mistake. Solid 3 stars because the food is good. Service needs improvement though. Oh, and the green salsa is delicious!

Chrissy C.

Yelp
Stood there for 7 minutes was not acknowledged in any way. Gal was just messing around with the oil. No one else was in there and I just walked out. Sad because this was my go to living in the Northwest and this is the Only one here. In some crappy truck stop; shoulda been my first clue
google avatar

Yelp
Fast food. Service was good, eating area clean. Not a bad thing, but there isn't much else to talk about.

Yelp
We were visiting from out of state in Sept of 2024. Husband drove to this location to get me tacos because my favorite fast food tacos are from Taco Time. (Grew up in Utah and had Taco Time all the time.) It was nearing dinner time. When he got to this location, he had to walk next door (it's in a truck stop) and ask if anyone was working at the Taco Time. They had to go find the person. Then the person was rude. Kept saying they were out of everything. My husband finally settled for2 chicken tacos because apparently that was all they had. No crisp burritos of any kind. No beef, period. No crustos. Strike one. My son stopped by there today to get food for us (we just moved back here). The order is correct on the receipt, but not in the bag. They were not busy, even though it was during the "lunch hour". He said they had a new person taking the order, but that's fine. This location doesn't have a drive up - strictly walk up. We shouldn't have to check our bags, but we should have. Missing a Soft Meat Burrito - the first item on the receipt. Strike two. You know what? I'm not waiting for a strike three. If I am really in need of a Taco Time fix, I will make the 2 hour drive to St. George and give that location a try. Gave it a 3 star because the food was still delicious and tasted just like I remembered it. It's just the lack of food and lack of customer service for our last two orders that made me rate it low. I don't expect 5 star service from this place, but just because it's in a truck stop doesn't mean you have to be a terrible place to eat. Truck drivers deserve to have good food at a good price with as much accuracy as possible. Everyone does. It's not that hard to make sure the order is complete and accurate. I know. I've worked fast food. Both of my kids work in fast food management. I'm not looking for free food - I'm hoping for improvement at this location. If I had the health / capability to apply and work there, I would. I can't promise I would make it better, but I can promise that I would work my best. Unfortunately, I am currently unable to work outside of the home. Step it up, Taco Time. Take pride in your work and workplace or don't work there.

Yelp
The young girl working this morning was horrible. Today is Saturday 10/26/24. She was in the back, we waited a few minutes for her to come to the front. She did not say hello, good morning, nod or smile. I ordered and she walked away without saying anything. She went to check if they had their crisp meat burritos and said they were out.
google avatar

Yelp
$4.49 for a soft taco with ground meat, lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes? Then there's a veggie taco for $5.39. Way overpriced! I was so shocked at how high these tacos are priced with minimal filling. The ingredients were not high quality to charge these kinds of prices. We asked the cashier how they could charge so high. He indicated since they are not a franchise, they increase their prices to align with inflation. We were on our way to Vegas and wanted to stop for something quick and easy. Tacos is always a good choice for this but when he rung up 3 tacos for $15.57, we were shocked. We were hoping they would at least be worth it but nope. Definitely not coming back for low grade tacos for these kinds of prices.

Amy K.

Yelp
Yes, it's in a really crummy truck stop, but the food was great! Taco Time in Oregon was my first job as a kid in the 80s and it's been that long since I've had it ....but man it brought back great memories! The man working the counter also works the Burger King counter, and was so nice! We drive to Vegas twice a year and this is going to be a regular stop

Kevin F.

Yelp
The service here stinks. I really enjoy the food here. The crispy tacos are always delicious , and the fried burritos are good too. It's too bad you can't get any one here to wait on you. I've had to leave without eating on my last two trips here. They clearly have zero supervision.

Lily R.

Yelp
the worst taco time. It's upsetting this is the only location in the area. I was stoked to go after not having taco time in a few years. I went on a SATURDAY and a lady was in there working but refused service / said she was closed. It was definitely disappointing.

Rosie Hong N.

Yelp
Love this place and their tacos and taco sauce every since I was a kid in Salt Lake City Utah

Jason C.

Yelp
I just love this place. The crispy meat burritos and the soft shell tacos have been a delight for so many decades. It's just money every time.
google avatar

Bryan B.

Yelp
Kind of on the expensive side for a burrito nothing out of this world was located at the TA truck stop sorry for short review was a grab and go meal

Richard H.

Yelp
I live across street for thirty years the worst help I've seen ! Burger King is bad but I'm afraid to even try taco time! Workers are the worst .I watch others try ; get decent help ill buy two times a week
google avatar

Yelp
Growing up in the PNW, Taco Time was practically a staple! There was one down in Santa Ana for a while but it closed leaving this Taco Time in Vegas the only one in the Southwest. It's basically a truck stop with a Burger King and Taco Time in a small room with combined seating. The place is clean, albite a little outdated and well used. Swing around back to find parking as the front is all semi-trucks. The food is exactly how I remembered it though. Can't get enough of their Mexi Fries and Deep Fried Beef Burritos. In a way, it's probably good I have to drive 150 miles from SoCo to get there or I'd be there more often. For those in SoCal, the best comparison is Green Burrito. Taco Time blows Taco Bell and Del Taco out of the game.
google avatar

Ann M.

Yelp
I grew up eating at Taco Time in Seattle and they were very popular when I was a kid. Wish they pop up in LA but I guess this will do and will be my Go To on my way back home. Still taste the same but price went up! The girl that rang me up was super nice and friendly!
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
This place is horrible. The staff is nice but they just can't execute to save their lives. Obviously it is probably as they aren't being set up for success as there's usually just one or two people working there and usually the person that takes your order has to make your food. I went here the other day and got four tacos and some Mexi fries and it was $18. Look at how small the taco was and the lettuce had old wilted pieces on it that look like it had been sitting on a cutting board for 3 hours. Gross!
google avatar

Pat M.

Yelp
Damn tasty tacos and quick staff. Love this place! Definitely stop if you're in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Yelp
I haven't eaten my food yet but I have 5 stars on customer service alone. Rhonda was the only person working and she was by far so nice and sweet and very helpful. It's hard to find wonderful customer service with a smile and I would definitely go back just to see her again! I hope she is being treated well because it would be a shame to lose a valuable employee like her. Thank you Rhonda for being amazing!!
google avatar

Yelp
Mood- dinner It is in a travel plaza, so when you walk in, you have options of where to eat. The customer service was wonderful. The guy that took the order was the cashier, the cook, and the presenter. I honestly felt bad for him. For me this is Seattle food. When I saw that cactus logo, I knew it was def a must try. So that being said Yes opted for the crispy beef burrito and tots. Of course it reminded me of home. No other place I've been to has been able to duplicate that rolled deep fried burrito. Interior is tables with chairs in a community area serving the other eateries. Everything while we were there was clean. Would recommend- to say you've had this at least once. Pricing is typical for Vegas. Location is Blue Diamond/ Valley View-- ample parking
google avatar

Bobbie J.

Yelp
This location is better than me driving to the Foster la action in Portland, OR from PHX Airport. The prices have changed a lot for the food. The. Risky meat during went from &3.50 to $4.99. On the daily special Mondays it's now $3.50ea. Guess I'll learn to make my own now.
google avatar

Marco T.

Yelp
Price are out of control. A crisp bean burrito for $5.19 each! What a rip off. All other items are just as pricey. Rude staff and only one person working doing everything (cashier and cook). She would take an order, leave to prepare the food, return in about 15-20 minutes, then take the next order. Head to Del Taco or Taco Bell for better food and prices. This place is a joke.

Yelp
"I'm so bad, punish me, make me feel you from the inside out", my internal monologue as I stare down the 8" cylinder. Yes fellow yelper foodies, don't lie to me. Be it McD, Jack, the King, you've all eaten it and you all secretly crave it. You know, "food" manufactured from 20 different chemicals, called natural because human hands made them in a lab. Genetically modified animal and plant life perfectly altered to meet formulation requirements. Some, "deep fried" in a chemically modified oil, others subjected to radiation. YUM! "It's a difference you can taste" (their slogan, not mine). So true! Crisp MEAT Burrito - I promise that's what it's called. One bite of the crispy, preservative laden flour-ish tortilla sends molten cheeze and taste bud altering, texturally appealing protein amalgam oozing into your mouth! Be sure to add the "fresh" original salsa to every bite. Straight from the little packet. Heaven! Don't forget the side of Mexi-Fries [tm], AKA tater tots. Crispy on the outside, oily on the inside, outstanding lubrication for later. Want a good laugh, check out their website while consuming. You thought BK was bad. So remember, "any time is Taco Time"! Note: This location is at a truck stop with other similar alternatives for your serious foodie friends.

Yelp
Great food. Horrible customer service. I'd have more to say, if I had the chance to order. Waiting 10 minutes, being the only one in line.

Jenny L.

Yelp
The worst customer service I have ever had Never going to waste my money there again. Why do I have e to choose even one star when I want to put 0
google avatar

D K.

Yelp
If you are from the PNW and are wondering if this is the same Taco Time that you remember, well wonder no more! I drove from LA just to purchase two dozen frozen crisp meat burritos and guess what??? I'm already planning my next trip! The crisp meat burritos and the original sauce are must haves!!!!! Don't pass this place by. Stop in, you won't regret it!
google avatar

Joe J.

Yelp
3 stars because of the location and the service other then that the crisp meat burrito brings back memories of my time in the PNW specifically Clarkston Washington where Taco time is a staple to that town. I was first introduced to this place back in 1988 and this burrito was a favorite since the first time I tried it. Definitely gotta dip it in some ranch dressing. I try to hit taco time when I'm in Vegas to satisfy my craving and bring back some nostalgia.

Yelp
"GAME OVER" this is where Taco Time came to die. I stopped at the TA travel center on the way out of Las Vegas, as my vehicle was fueling i went inside to get some food for the drive back to California. Inside I came across a Taco Time and Burger King, the Burger King had a small line of customers while the Taco Time had a single employee leaning on the cash register waiting for the sweet relief of shift end (lol). I ordered two burritos ala carte 1st one was the veggie burrito and the 2nd wS the Casita burrito. Although I was the only customer it was taking such a long time , finally she started bagging up my two burritos and placed the completed order in front of me , I said thank you for the veggie burrito but whats with the Casita? She asked me what do I mean I said well to start it is missing A tortilla and its on a plate with chips. See Photo. Obviously corporate has given up on Taco Time this is a dingy sad location where the nostalgic franchise has come to die.

Ryan W.

Yelp
I've been eating Taco Time in the Pacific Northwest for decades for its constancy, extreme freshness of ingredients, and service. This location is none of these things. If you are expecting Taco Time as you know and love, this location is not it.

Delyne K.

Yelp
First of all, the pros. 1. The customer service by the lone person working there on 1/17/2023 was excellent. 2. The food was very good. 3. It was packaged well and managed the 45 minute trip to the final location perfectly. 4. The restaurant was clean and the order was finished in a reasonable amount of time. Now the cons that reflect my 2 stars (I would give one if it hadn't been for the great employee). 1. The menu prices are very misleading. Contacted the manager for the pricing errors (that feels illegal, to advertise something at one price and then charge another). The meal itself was $3.80 more than advertised on the hard menu board in the restaurant. Left a message, gave them a day, and the manager never responded. 2. The prices themselves are higher than most. For those on a budget this might matter. I am on a budget. Small crisp chicken burritos for 6.19 each. One is certainly not filling, so for a meal you would need to order at least 2, and even that was not really enough. 3. Good service matters to me and Taco Time Las Vegas excelled with the employee. The manager, or a representative at the phone number on the receipt, hard fail for no response at all. Felt like they don't care about advertising false prices. 4. I would definitely pass on this restaurant. The food is certainly not worth the prices, even if they had been charged at the cost of the false advertising.

Yelp
It's Taco Time. Yeah, right!. Just letting you know right now, not my idea to come here. But it was a co-workers time to pick lunch and he swears by this place. Why you ask? I even wanted to know. Well, this is the only Taco Time in Las Vegas and he grew up on this stuff back in Utah. Big deal...now let me eat. Nothing on the menu was appealing to me, both taste wise and calorie wise. I ended up pulling up the myfitnesspal app and found something decent. I ended up getting their Crisp Chicken Burrito. I know, their known for their burritos. I just didn't want to indulge knowing that a big dinner was within a few hours. Their Crisp Chicken Burrito is basically a large deep fried taquito in my opinion. Tasted okay, but that's about it. As for the ambiance...yeah right. This Taco Time is located at a truck stop off Blue Diamond across from from the Silverton Casino/Hotel. When you're in here, you almost forget you're in Las Vegas. For a minute, I thought I was in Barstow or even Baker. Service wasn't the best and they didn't even have forks. Good gravy...I doubt I will stumble back in here.

Julie D.

Yelp
This location thinks sweeping the floor is a priority. After 12+ minutes, i left. Not coming back

Yelp
As a kid, Taco Time was the place I got to go if I had a good report card or did well on test. I LOVED the crispy bean burrito. When my family moved out to Arizona and away from Taco Time, I cried. Real tears. It took me years, but I eventually got over my grief and tried to console myself with lesser quality burritos, none of which lived up to the crunchy goodness of a Crispy Bean Burrito. Imagine my shock when The Hubs told me that there was a Taco Time in Las Vegas. I cried. Real tears. But this time of joy. Yes, it's in a truck stop. Yes, there might have been a legit drug deal going on the parking lot. Yes, the service is slow. But it has crispy burritos. And Mexi Fries. Life is complete.

Carrie R.

Yelp
Crisp meat burritos....perfect. Had an issue yesterday, which things happen but it was made right and perfect today! Received awesome service both yesterday and today, I will definitely be back more often because service is everything!!!
google avatar

Terry M.

Yelp
Taco time is usually one of my favorite places to go, I remember when I was a kid and my mom would work there and Id go and watch her cook and get little snacks from behind the counter, you know, those cinnamon crustos or whatever they are called. Despite transitioning to Veganism, there are still quite a few things you can get here that ARE vegan such as plain mexi fries and the bean burritos (No cheese) which is what I ordered today, 2 bean burritos, 1 mexi fries. I get home and take a bite out the burrito which comes in a green package indicating that its bean and not meat and NOPE, its meat...Now I am still transitioning to Veganism and this wasnt super traumatizing as it might be to someone who is totally vegan but still....Im not happy!

Yelp
Manager from Burger king went to the prep area start talking to the girls without wearing mask we asked to the cashier why his not wearing mask she said its ok she's the one making my food so we ask for my money back

Yelp
A-ok crispy burritos and stuffed tots This taco time is situated inside of a TA truck stop that is a casino/layndrymat gas station and combination Taco Bell/Burger King I had low hopes since Burger King is my last choice. I ordered some crispy beef burritos and stuffed tots. The cashier said "they are the jalapeño flavor. I said ok. The food was pretty good. Perhaps it wasn't as epic as I remember in my youth but nothing is ever as good as the memories.

Yelp
We make sure to swing by here at least once (usually twice) whenever we're in Las Vegas. It's located inside a Travel America truck stop, so don't expect swanky digs. However, the food always good. The magic Taco Gnomes never disappoint. There's usually only one person working the counter/kitchen, so avoid rush times. All the workers, I've encountered have always been pleasant. Yelp
Great service. Specifically hunted down Taco Time since there is not one in Texas...use to be our favorite taco place in Idaho and Washington can't beat the deep fried burrito taste

Yelp
A good place to stop and eat the food is good. You must try the hot sauce it's not that spicy but it is delicious. The staff is really nice and accommodating and they have really fast service.

Yelp
It's amazing to me that any website I look up the closing time for this location says 10pm but when I physically go to the location prior to 10 pm it's always closed. Twice this week this has happened. The first time it was like 9:42 so I assumed it was a young employee trying to get out early. Today I went in at 9, which apparently is the new closing time (which isn't posted anywhere) and still couldn't get served. Update the closing times on the web sites or at the physical location so I can stop wasting my time.
google avatar

Shannon G.

Yelp
I love taco time! Everytime I come here to Vegas I have to get it at least once! It's a little pricier than normal but get it is Vegas. Crisp pinto burritos with sour cream is the ONLY way to go!!! Construction in the place now was the only reason for the 4 stars. It was hard to order and hard to really the good with all the noise
google avatar

Yelp
This location is in a truck stop, yes! Tackie?! You say... please remember those 18 wheeler trucks keep the working world a float. From the stinky live stock, to scent of freshly cut wood and flurries, grindings flying through the air. This isn't the place to bash us truckers. Stick to the resturant review. Personally, I used to run 10 miles daily, and getting into this line of work isn't easy. From the horrible bumper huggers, yeah! You! PASsenger vehicles that think 4 foot travelling distance is logical or even advised in your drivers manual. Anyway! The tater tots are awesome; better then any other resterant out there. Yeah I said it! I had a veggie burrito, Delicious! To bad this place isn't at every truck stop.

Yelp
Growing up in Seattle, Taco Time was a normal stop for me and my family. Since moving to LA, and now living in Vegas, I was only too happy to discover this childhood favorite right here in sin city. Now whether you are a first timer or a regular here, there are things that you need to know. First of all, there are two different versions of Taco Time. This one here in this review and the original that is abundant in Washington (also known as Taco Time Pacific Northwest). I call any Taco Time outside of the Pacific Northwest an "Express Taco Time" because they don't have the complete menu and most importantly, the hot sauce is in packets! In Washington, they make the hot sauce made fresh from scratch! The good thing is that the main items that they are known for are readily available. My most favorite item is their crisp burritos which come in chicken, pinto bean, and the best of them all, beef. Allow me to describe it. Seasoned ground beef rolled up in a flower tortilla and deep fried to a golden brown. Kinda looks like a large taquito only way better! Damn, my mouth is watering right now just typing this! Get that in a combo with mexi-fries (basically tater tots) and a drink, you're all set! Dipping these items in their hot salsa is the cherry on top! Occasionally I have one of their tacos, soft burritos and taco salads, which is not bad either. Those choices are up to you. To me, the crisp beef burritos have no equal. I gave them 3 stars because of their location and not so good service. It's in a food court in between Burger King and Subway. The food court itself is smack dab in the middle of a truck stop, which doesn't make it any more appealing. The service is below mediocre because you have one employee that handles everything from taking your order, to cooking, to calling you when it's done. So if you ever go to Seattle, make Taco Time as a part of your itinerary. For more info, go to their website: www.tacotime.com

Yelp
This place is a bit higher priced than taco Bell or del taco, but it's always so good. The atmosphere isn't the greatest, being inside the Travel America truck stop on the south Las Vegas Blvd, but we like the food so much that it's easy to overlook that one detail in order to enjoy a trip to the one location still in this city. Sharing the love!

Yelp
I'm not a fan of truck stop tacos, but being from the Pacific Northwest, I had to visit. The crisp bean burrito and "mexi fries" took me back home. I hope to see more Taco Time in the future. Maybe SoCal?

Yelp
This is one of the worst places I've ever eaten at. I went based on the recommendation from a co worker. Not knowing that it was just an over price Del Taco. I ordered a #2 which is a soft taco, tots, and drink. That came up to $10.00. When I got the food the tortilla was cold. They warmed up the food in a microwave. And just overall a disgusting meal. I will never come back.
