Portland restaurants with locations in other cities | Eater Portland

"While Taco Bell or even Del Taco get all the attention, the Northwest does have its own homegrown taco chain, love it or hate it. Famous for Mexi-Fries and deep-fried Crisp Burritos, Taco Time, started in Eugene 59 years ago, has been getting harder to find. There are only three locations left in Portland proper, though the chain, marked by a bright green cactus sign, is scattered throughout Oregon and Washington, with franchises even in Canada, Kuwait, and Curaçao."

Twice ordered and received wrong items. Can't even give the right sauce. Never again. And you're telling me there is cheese jalapeño sauce in this?

Absolutely delicious! We ordered a fairly large order for our office lunch, 4 platters, extra tacos and the stuffed mexi-fries (which are amazingly delicious) the people that work are always super efficient and friendly! Our order was perfect! It was nicely and neatly bagged as well! 10/10… And just fyi the platters meals are by far the best value, and they are super tasty!

This is the BEST Taco Time I’ve ever been to. They seem to keep using fresher ingredients than the other ones I’ve been to. It tastes more like the Taco Times of when I was younger. The employees there are also great. Love this Taco Time!

The food at this TacoTime is Fing phenomenal! I don't know how they do it, but it has a gourmet taste that you wouldn't expect from fast food. Also, they roll perfect burritos, they're nice and tight, where you can bite into the. Without making a mess. I was so impressed I wanted to share my experience. I hope they remain in business forever 😃

This little Taco Time is such a wonderful little stop. The women who mostly work in there are fantastic, so helpful and sweet. They are really doing a fantastic job right now in dealing with the pandemic. So clean inside the restaurant and the employees are very respectful full and the food is simple and delicious for a fast food meal. One employee in particular was just amazing she went above and beyond and she was so delightful to be around with a big warm smile and a genuinely beautiful disposition. I believe her name was Monique. She spoke English perfectly as some of the employees did not. However she made our trip there memorable and we walked away in a great mood. So I would give them five stars for everything I just mentioned but I really do think the prices could come down a bit. At least try to compete with McDonald's on drink prices...

I can remember 20 years ago. when you could get the best Mexican food you ever ate. at Taco Time. now it's all changed. I don't know how they're staying in business! my meal was lukewarm. the beans and the rice skimpy. I'm just amazed at the price you pay for the bad quantity and quality.

I hadn't been to TT since the 80s and remember really enjoying it. I was disappointed in my experience. The food was just alright, the problem was that it seemed really expensive for what we got. We both got a burrito - $6.99 each. My burrito - the Big Juan - wasn't cohesive. The little meat it had in it was in a small lump near one end. Both ends were nothing but sour cream. Near the other end was rice. I didn't get a bite that had everything in it because nothing was really together. Although we ordered "stuffed Mexi-fries" we got a small order of tater tots for $3.99 instead. The 16 tater tots we got were tasty but not worth $4 and, anyway, not what we wanted. The location has no drive thru and is a bit run down. The staff were fairly friendly.

Yelp
Nothing to write home about, but it's fine. Some of the names of the menu options are a little silly, like the "Mexi-fries" that are just tater tots, or the "Cinnamon Crustos". Definitely a step above Taco Bell, but that's a pretty low bar either way. The inside was pretty plain, there's plenty of room to eat but I imagine we'll mostly be getting food to-go.

Yelp
I honestly really like this taco time. The ingredients taste fresh and they are pretty fast and it's inexpensive. I have no real complaints.

Yelp
I've been feeding the fast food side of my personality of late, and I ate at Taco Time today. I had a crunchy chicken burrito and mexi-fries today. So bad, yet so good; oy vey. The restaurant was very clean, and there was plenty of parking. The staff was very pleasant and efficient. I did not use the restroom. Pricing is very reasonable. I do like Taco Time better than Taco Bell. Now, all I have to do is conquer my very bad fast food eating habit

Yelp
Taco Time has very good "fast food". This location is clean and they are very fast at preparing the food. I recommend it highly.

Yelp
Love the crisp bean burritos! Fast service and always fresh. Taco salad also one of my favorite things to grab for a quick dinner bite.

Yelp
Can you say "1 step up from Taco Bell?". Seriously folks this reminded me of Taco Bell except bigger portions. I was expecting real authentic Mexican tacos and burritos but this is just Americanized ground beef tacos and burritos. On the plus side I would rather eat here than Taco Bell.

Michelle M.

Yelp
This Taco Time is the best one around! The staff is wonderful and the food is also hot and fresh. Taco's are crispy and full of meat, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. I won't go to any other one!!!

Yelp
They do not accept service dogs and got in a yelling match accusing us of lying about our service animals

Yelp
I haven't been to Taco Time in years, last time I wasn't impressed with the food. I work next door, so I decided to give them another try andddd now I'm here all the time lol the staff is always friendly, the food isn't greasy and always tastes good.

Yelp
Everyone who ate the crisp meats 12 days ago got sick in our family. Was the only food in common that the sick ate, other items were okay. Started puking a few hours after eating and lasted for about 24 hours, next day the puking came out the other end. The Crisp Meats were on sale for $1 that day. Reached out to the owner and got this message back: "We did have a large event that we ended up having a large portion of crisp burritos left over which is why we had a sale on them immediately after at all 3 of our locations. We have yet to receive any other feedback regarding employees or other customers being sick after eating the burritos." Not sure if the crisp meats were handled all that well after the event. Won't be going back to this place.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Horrible experience. We purchased $50.00 worth of dinner, and was denied more hot sauce when asked. We got home, which is 12 blocks away and the 3 hard tacos we purchased were extremely soggy. Couldn't eat them. Ran out of hot sauce as well. BAD BAD customer service.

Yelp
The only authentic about this place are the Mexican employees. Nothing taste like a taco shop it's just another Taco Bell but worse. One bad example.....the quesadilla is finished off in the Microwave oven. A 4 year old can do that at home, that is if anyone like their quesadilla done in a Microwave.

Chelsea K.

Yelp
Everytime I go to this location the food is always so good! I feel like the store is clean, the service is fast, and I always leave feeling glad. I would definitely recommend this location.

Yelp
Had great food and service here today

Yelp
My first and LAST time there. Taste: yeah sure didn't taste like any other taco of burrito I have ever had. Not a plus. Shells on all the tacos were cracked upon opening. Cost... was a bit much for what you got. You got more off a Del Taco .99 menu that what you paid 3 and 4 bucks for. What they call "Crisp Burritos" are called Flautas. Eh at best but a negative with the meat tasting weird and at 4 and change. I just finished 5 minutes ago and am feeling sick already....big mistake. Using a cash card they do ask for a tip, and the staff at the counter is hovering over your saying, "It has you answer a question." Nothing like pressure before you even get your food...don't tip and they skimp on your order or worse? They screwed up the order, no sodas with the 2 combos and they left out 1 burrito.... Save your money and your stomach, go elsewhere. Burger King is across the parking lot, much better food and a better value! Last but not least, the tater tops were well made! Then I saw them drop them from the frozen bag into the fryer so they got that going for them!

Yelp
The food wasn't terrible, but over priced. $8 for a small burrito and a drink? Stupid. I would have gone else where but I was stuck doing laundry

Valarie R.

Yelp
Fast friendly service and food is always good and fresh! Great easy parking. Tables are bussed fast.

Yelp
Haven't had Taco Time in years and decided on a snowy day to have my Husband venture out to check the roads. He made it worth while by stopping at Taco Time and all I can say is, the crisp meat burritos never disappoint. They tasted just as I remember and they were delicious. Hot and fresh!

Janice H.

Yelp
I think they have replaced all the beef with cornmeal or some other filler. The food was tasteless.
google avatar

Johnna F.

Yelp
The portions are not bad, but they ask for tips now on credit cards, before you pay and get your food. I'm not too sure if I may return there.

Yelp
Just sad. I've always thought of Taco Bell as the best of the best taco chain fast foods. This location proved me wrong. The service was seriously different from other Taco Time locations I've been to, I had the Casa Burrito which was filled with beans proportionately more beans than meat it was sad. Oh and by the way it was dirty. There is never an excuse for a dirty restaurant. I won't go back.

Yelp
Fast delivery, fresh food, and great prices. They got everything right in our long complicated order, and I am saving the other half for dinner. Great job!

Terri W.

Yelp
NOT VEGAN FRIENDLY. Just ordered two Veggie burritos to go. Went straight home and they where both very cold. Also asked for no cheese and no sour cream, they both had cheese and sour cream. The store was not even busy and had asked them twice no dairy.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly enough service, but the lobby was filthy and the 'crisp' bean burritos were gummy.

K P.

Yelp
I love taco time. The staff here was friendly, kinda hard to communicate with them when I don't know Spanish. None the less we got what we ordered, The food did not taste very good. My bro afterwords said to me. "I probably shouldn't have eaten that" chances are we are never going to this Taco time again.

Angie G.

Yelp
They need to learn to speak and understand English! They screwed up our order and could understand what we were saying! We won't be back!

Yelp
lobby was filthy, bathroom was so dirty i went to the store next door to wash my hands, the food was ok should have went to the taco bell down the street

Billy B.

Yelp
the cashier Noah was a delight made the trip worth while never been to a fast food restaurant with that good of service. Noah definately deserves a raise and the manager position

Yelp
1 star yo! This crap be hella wack. I didn't want to make a scene but when I ordered 3 tacos for 1.50 a piece I was charged $8.00. I rechecked the menu and it states that a taco is $1.50 (Only Taco). What the hell is "only taco" like I'm getting anymore? Asking for a tip after that is wack. Plus microwaving the chicken in a plastic bag in front of me is just bad etiquette. I'd recommend any taco bell over Tacotime. Peace
