Ranking The Absurd Amount Of Taquerias In Wynwood - Miami - The Infatuation

"Tacology squeezes its tacos into shot glasses, for reasons we’ll never quite understand. Surprisingly, the shot glass taco is the one we like most. The steak asada arrives presoaked in salsa verde, which sogs up the tortilla, but it’s still more enjoyable than the al pastor that has an overbearing amount of sweet pineapple. There’s really no reason to come here unless you need tacos and do not want to talk to a human (you order off a giant tablet)." - mariana trabanino

Miami’s New Restaurant Openings

"Tacology in Wynwood marks the restaurant’s third location in Miami, not that the neighborhood needed another overstimulating taqueria serving $13 tacos." - mariana trabanino

Lovely experience - I’d say this is a gastropub level sophistication brought to tacos. Yes, portion sizes are on the smaller side, but are they delicious or what! Every one was prepared to perfection - and we tasted a good portion of the menu. The Wagyu won the table though. The Mexican nachos were a close second. The entire set of our orders was so delicious it’s tough to rank. Only caveat - drinks were mostly sugar water, go for a beer instead.

"I was reading the reviews here, and perhaps I just had a bad day and a truly terrible experience. While the ambiance is nice, the food quality, pricing, and service were severely disappointing. I ordered the Guacamole appetizer, which I found to be very bland—it was completely unseasoned and too acidic. I also ordered three tacos, which cost between $8 and $12 dollars each for what were essentially mini tacos, a high price point for the portion size. All items arrived except for one Steak taco, which took more than 30 minutes to be prepared. I requested to speak with the server ZULUAGA whose attitude was extremely unprofessional. She went to the kitchen to inquire, returned 10 minutes later, and claimed the taco would be ready in 5 minutes. Since the kitchen is open, I saw her go back again, yet my order still did not arrive. Finally, I called the manager and asked him to cancel the order. His only response was 'ok'. The most astonishing part was what followed: I then witnessed him go into the kitchen and eat the taco that I had been waiting for for over 40 minutes. I saw the entire thing. At no point did anyone apologize for the extended wait or the entire ordeal. I was highly dissatisfied with the attitude and posture of both the server and the manager. Furthermore, the food is overpriced for the quality and portion size they serve.

Birria is ON POINT! Shell could have been a touch crunchier, but the flavor and lots of meat made it fantastic! The Al Pastor was a touch dry, but still delicious. At the time I went, it wasn't too busy, so the service was great and the staff was very friendly. I'll be back!

First time. Sebastian was so helpful in making sure we ordered amazing items. It was so flavorful. Fresh. Loved the smoky hot sauce. Meat was so tender. Give them a try.

Ended up at Tacology after a day exploring Wynwood and I’m happy we did! Started off with the Spicy Margarita which was perfectly spicy and delicious. I had two asada chicken tacos which were a bit dry but the amazing sauces made up for it so all good. I probably wouldn’t order them again. But then we shared the gringa with the same asada chicken and the cheese complimented it much better than in the taco. We ordered another one bc it was so good. Our server Linda was super sweet! Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area.

Kira was absolutely fantastic - great with recommendations. Which tasted fantastic, will definitely be back next time I’m town. Cocktails were so good as well

Unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations. The server, though polite, seemed completely unfamiliar with the protein portions of the dishes. He kindly went to check with the kitchen, but even after that, I was still left searching for the promised 200 grams of meat in the “Mexican Nachos.” What arrived at the table was essentially a cheese-and-bean soup scattered over limp tortilla chips, hardly resembling a proper nacho dish. As the photo shows, protein was almost nonexistent—certainly nowhere near what was advertised. To be honest, a simple visit to Chipotle would have been a thousand times better. At least there, you get what you pay for. The only redeeming qualities at Tacology were the stylish décor and the good music, but beyond that, there’s nothing to envy.

The location, atmosphere, and design are absolutely stunning. The service is average. I think the price is a bit steep. There are more ambitious taco shops in the area with better service for the same price. Overall, it was good. Thanx
