Chicago Restaurants to Give Away Free Meals Before Thanksgiving | Eater Chicago

"I write that TaKorea Cocina owner Robert Magiet planned to give away hundreds of Thanksgiving meals, motivated by his work with mutual aid project the Love Fridge and supported by nearby restaurant owners and a small army of volunteers." - Naomi Waxman

We came in and sat down for a total for 20 mins. Three parties came in AFTER us and they all got their order in. No one checked in on us, not for drinks, not for our order. From the very beginning when we asked to be seated, we were looked at very weirdly. We were a party of 6 with much of our party being older folks. I honestly can’t grasp why we were so blatantly ignored. I want to even say that we were discriminated against. We were so excited to try this place but our experience left such a bad taste in our mouths.

Service is very good, the atmosphere is alright, the lighting is very warm as well as the inside of the building, but if you can get a window seat or even theyre ONLY table outside, you'll be in heaven. the food is really good, it was my first time eating korean food and i was very pleasantly surprised (im a picky eater). i ordered the sampler with teriyaki and the spicy ramyen (forgot the name) and it was soooo good. definitely recommend this spot, and its not too expensive but its not street food cheap.

Quite place to have some Korean food. Went there on a Friday evening and we got the table as soon as we entered. The we ordered was tasty. The star of the evening was the service and our server. Very polite and helpful.

Very tasty food and friendly service. We had a chicken teriyaki bowl and a fried chicken bowl; both were great. The service was fantastic - we struggled a bit with the menu (our Spanish is not good) and the waitress helped us to translate the menu and explained the dishes to us. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Always love coming to this spot. Not authentic Koran food but still tastes good and has large portions .

This is a wonderful hole in the wall type place. The food here is very tasty, I tried the kimchi fries, bulgogi, ramen, fried rice and tacos. Everything was delicious, the fried rice had just the right amount of moistness to it. The ramen was legit spicy and good flavor. Even the drinks, using fruits mixed with sparkling water was refreshing. Highly recommended!

This was an amazing meal. The service was fast and the owner was super friendly. The chicken was super crunchy and the upgrade to fried rice was a good decision. The teppoki with mandu was awesome. I'd definitely go back. It was really well priced and huge portions. A hidden gem!

We had a very sad experience here. We came in and we were completely ignored by the staff. We had been sitting for a long time and several other parties came in after us. Then staff took their orders but no one ever came in to even ask us what we wanted to drink.
