Tacos and Tequila

I recently visited Tacos and Tequila, and while there were some good aspects, the experience was pretty mediocre overall. To start on a positive note, the food did come out hot and fresh, which is always appreciated. The menu items are priced reasonably at first glance, but be prepared for extra charges for almost everything--whether it's meat, sour cream, green chile, or other toppings, there's an extra fee. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, which had a decent flavor, but the dish overall tasted pretty plain. My boyfriend got a burrito, which he said was okay, but nothing special. He also ordered a birria taco, which looked amazing but was ultimately disappointing. The meat was dry, and even with the consomé, the taco lacked flavor. Given that the taco cost $16 and was pretty small, it felt overpriced. On the plus side, the vibe inside is cute, with a nice atmosphere that opens up to a cozy outdoor dining area. Our server was friendly and provided good service, which made the experience a bit better. However, the food quality didn't live up to the atmosphere, and the added costs for every little thing made the meal feel less like a good deal.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Colorado. Everything on their menu is amazing but the carnitas tacos are my favorite. Awesome green chili, excellent queso, and the churro ice cream, OMG! Really though, this review is about one of our favorite people in our lives, Shauna. Shauna is more than just a great server/bartender. Her radiant energy brightens even the most gloomy days. She always makes sure we leave with full bellies and smiling faces. This restaurant would not be the same without her.

Was really excited to try this place. The service was slow to take an order, but the kitchen super fast. Both my wife and I enjoyed our drinks, and the bar aspect was the best part. The food was pretty meh and bland on flavor and my beef meat tough. Thankfully the chips and salsa were fantastic. Over all, kind of disappointed, but not the worse restaurant in the area.

Their food and drinks were tasty. However the bartender was not welcoming. He wasn't rude just didn't bother to engage. Another customer walked in an hour before closing. They asked if they are still opened.. the bartender said well with a pause then said you have an hour. Would I go back maybe?! Hospitality was not there.

This was a very good experience. They still have their doors open, and there were still some customers inside that were finishing their meals. We arrived five minutes before they close. They still served us like they had just opened. They took care of us and did not just bring us our food, but made sure that I drinks were still filled or food extremely fast. I know that it is hard to serve customers that come in that last five minute window. If I would’ve noticed most likely, I would not have come in, but this was definitely a great experience because of the service and because of the preparation that they put into the food that they brought to us I will definitely be going back again.

Shauna is an amazing human and always makes every person who comes through feel like family. She spoils us each time we come in on Tuesday’s. My partner and I come to tacos and tequila not only for the amazing food but mainly to see our lovely lady Shauna. She has lifted us up after a rough day at work countless times. I’ve never been to an establishment with this kind of energy and atmosphere that Shauna has cultivated. Shauna I love you so much and am so grateful to have met you❤️ Lauren was our server tonight and she is amazing too! Thank you Shauna, Lauren, and the whole tacos and tequila team for everything that you do for the community❤️❤️❤️

This place has consistently very delicious, flavorful tacos. While they are on the expensive end for tacos at about $6 each, they are using high quality ingredients and filling them generously. The birria and shrimp tacos are my favorite. Be warned, many of them pack some heat (carne asada, chipotle crema, etc)! Happy hour details aren't posted online, but it is $5 margs, $1 off drafts, $2 off wine, and $5 chili rellenos & chili cheese fries. The other thing to note is they are extremely understaffed - both times I was there the bartender was responsible for the entire restaurant (orders and making drinks), a food runner, and someone in the kitchen. Oh and if it's important to you - bathrooms are single-person and wheelchair accessible.

We are super delighted to see his businesses expand and do absolutely amazing! I must say that Tacos and tequila is one of my new favorite spots to hang out at and Mercedes is absolutely amazing she runs the entire facility and knows exactly what she's doing she's great nothing but good to say about her and then entire staff here

Cute little taco spot! It wasn't busy for lunch but we did go over the thanksgiving holiday- looked like that had a good happy hour menu. Drinks were great, they do have some other spirits but specialize in tequila - obviously! The Biria Quesadilla was INCREDIBLE IM STILL THINKING ABOUT IT

Start off right with their chips and salsa - a rich, crisp, flavorful duo that sets the stage for what's to come. The chips are thin and crispy with the right dash of salt. Every taco - is a flavor bomb. Whether it's juicy and savory, you won't find a dud here. Standouts: The margaritas will be the best you've had. Birria: Deep, savory, and smoky--each bite feels just right. Quesadilla: Cheese perfectly melted, slightly crisp tortilla, and packed with just the right amount of filling. Truly awesome. All for a great price as well. We've returned multiple times and each visit reminds us how much we wish this place was in our neighborhood - you'd bet we'd be regulars. The ambiance blends a lively, welcoming vibe with refreshingly hospitable staff who clearly know what they're doing.

Came here for a solo lunch on a Friday. The ambience is chill, good music and the decor is fun. I was immediately greeted by the bartender/ server and elected to sit at the bar. She was very tentative and kindly offered recommendations. I followed her lead and went with the street tacos-- Carne Asada & Birria. Both FANTASTIC, lots of flavor and good size. I will definitely be back and highly recommended.

This place is a hidden gem! The vibe is so fun! The food is amazing!! The service was very fast and our waiter was attentive and came back multiple times to check on us. I had the Birria tacos and delicious!!! Everything tasted so fresh.

Tonight was not a good night for this bartender guy was very rude to me and I understand he's the only one there, and one young sweet busser and I could tell if she was embarrassed besides it was a few customer at the bar. But that doesn't mean he had the right to talk to me in front of the costumer that's dinning in, and I came in to order to Go at the bar and gave him the business and he had the attitude. When I finally got my two orders to go, I asked can I get some salsas...this one shocking.! he said for what? He said that I need tell him ahead of time and it an extra charge( so I don't mind paying -in my own head thinking) ... but don't we supposed to get salsa within the meals ? Then I decide to walk away it's not worth it, FYI what is going on with business these days hiring people that is not educate and train with manners etiquette with background! This one is very different

Crazy that we came in for the cocktails only. The tacos that we saw being delivered looked yummy, so we will be adding this to our "gotta go back" list. I'm a spice fan and loved their spicy jalapeño marg along with their house marg. Both were great.

We love this place! It's become sort of a go-to whenever we're in the area. We wish there was one closer to us! We always get the house Margaritas, and for only $7 you can't beat them. Chips and salsa are a must. Their menu is pretty simple, so they really do stick to the basics. But, we've had several of their tacos. The only one I wouldn't recommend is the chicken with the mushrooms. The mushrooms make it really dry. But everything else is top notch. I love birria, and I think they do a solid job of it, as well. Service is always great! We will continue to come back time and again!

The food is top notch Mexican fare. The service provided by Mercedes who was our server. She was very attentive and patient with my questions as well. Great ambiance and vibe.

First time here and was pleasantly surprised by the food and cocktails; flavors were great and the Spicy Strawberry Margarita was delicious. The place is small though and we had to sit outside even going early - or so we thought - at 5:30. What I was not impressed with was the bill. The tipping options are the 'normal' percentages but in dollar amounts and if you pay with a credit card there is a fee. My friend couldn't get the Scan to Pay to work and they insisted on charging her despite their system being down.

we really enjoyed the ambience and atmosphere. despite the location - it's not where you'd expect to find anything near authentic mexican fare - we were pleasantly surprised and impressed with the flavor of our food. the birria bowl was so good and the tacos de lengua, al pastor, & birria tacos were bombastic. the tortilla and melted cheese on the birria taco made it that much more scrumdiddleeumpshuss! although it was five o'clock somewhere when we visited, i wasn't in the mood for a cocktail, but the paloma was so scandalously tempting. i shall have that next time! the service was fast and friendly, btw.

Very good food. Had the nachos with ground beef. Service was outstanding. Very attentive and consistent.

The grilled tilapia was flavorless and it was drenched in a creamy sauce that is not mentioned on the menu. The service was lack luster and I found myself trying to engage the bartender to make my quick lunch more pleasant. There was nothing that will inspire me to go back for a second visit.

We love to come in and see Shauna at the Southglen location. she always has a great attitude and happy to see us kind of smile. she is fast and happy to serve. Her funny humor keeps us coming back. Not to mention those spicy margaritas and amazing rellenos! The ambiance is good too. lol

We've visited twice now and I am always wishing for something more. It's a small menu, which is ok if everything is tasty, but it's just ok. Shrimp taco is probably the favorite of all I've tried. I found the birria lacking as well as the pastor. The relleno is all breading with just a tiny chile. The nachos are pretty good. But if you add meat it's going to set you back $20 and they're not that special. I wanted to love this place because it's so close and I'm desperate for great Mexican nearby. But- it's just ok. House marg is serviceable.

Tacos are delicious. Birria Taco was amazing. Drinks could use more alcohol though. Felt like homemade. Very cool environment.

THE BEST MARGARITAS IVE EVER HAD. Can't name a restaurant or bar that does them better. Happy hour is too hard to resist there. The service is amazing, I love seeing their same staff members. If you're in the SouthGlenn mall area, you must check out this new hot spot from the owners of The Castle! This is a perfect little quaint spot to just chill w friends, watch games, and enjoy some good tequila & mezcal. As soon as you walk in, you can see there are plenty of seating areas from the plush soft comfy are booths to the high tops in the middle. Even better, you can chill at the bar or sit on the patio & people watch. The staff here are freaking amazing and just a thrill to be around because you can tell they love what they do. Shit I thought they were serving shots of permagrin the way the servers & bartenders walk around around so dam happy. But once you sit down, you can see why they have permagrins; ambiance is amazing! You're greeted with a beautiful smile & menu saying how may I help you or is this your first time joining us. (WOW customer service isn't dead post covid-19) As always, I start w/ a beautiful mezcal, then look over the menu like my selection will change......no it didn't. I got the Flip Flamingo special; Shrimp, Lengua, Birra tacos (Yes, I did just invent a special named after me!!!) Don't forget to add mezcal & side splash of gingerale/ginger beer. These tacos are fantastic. Hands down THE BEST LENGUA TACOS IN COLORADO I have had ever!!! The Lengua tacos are accompanied by thin habanero slices and red onion and just melt in ya mouth on contact. My mouth couldn't stop dancing. The shrimp is just as good. Then you hit up the butter soft queso birra tacos w/ consommè . I have sat in all their seating locations to see if the tacos would change, but no its fantastic no matter where you sit. I would warn you if you sit & orange booths & have the lengua & birra tacos you're going night night because you're in heaven. The cherry on top was the great service by our smiling & attentive server, Courtney; she was on it! I can absolutely say I'm a regular now & it's only been like 2 weeks. This will definitely be the hottest spot this summer in SouthGlenn hands down, the only thing that will be able to cool them down a bit is getting ice cream next door, bc they are on fire here!!! Otherwise, stop in for some great tacos & tequila (no pun intended). They have other drinks also, margaritas, beer, martinis, bears, oh my! My go-to Allstars so far are Sweet EJs Honey, Spicy Pina Mezcaland Mezcal Mule.

Quick service and bar tender was fast with the drinks!!! Food was great! You really couldn't ask for anything more. Great selection for a kids menu as well.

My go to drink spot in centennial especially for margs! They're well priced especially during happy hour and always delicious. The restaurant has a fun ambience and the servers are amazing!

Monday has all day $5 margarita specials. Bartender served most of the restaurant. Happy hour specials everyday. Solid spot.

Server's attitude was so bad that the bartender bought me a drink, food was cold, margarita was good, happy hour seemed decent

Shauna did an excellent job taking care of our party of 5 and our food was crazy delicious! Two of us ordered the birria quesadilla- maybe the best thing I've ever eaten! Enchiladas's were awesome, as was the mega-cheesy burrito. We will definitely be back!

I have been to tacos and tequila three times now. All three times the food has been amazing, margaritas, phenomenal, and service by Shauna has been exceptional all 3 visit. thank you, Shana for making our friends birthday so special. We love supporting a local restaurant and guess what? We will be back tomorrow for taco Tuesday.

We tried Tacos and Tequila based on reviews others had left, raving about the Chile Rellano's and we also tried the Quesadilla. I can not rate either dish as tasty, or anything close to what the taste should be. This is the worse than bar food, b/c it doesn't identify as anything else! I should have sent it back. And the tables were sticky, had to move twice. Ewwwe

All I can say is WOW!!!! I love coming in to Tacos and Tequila. The service is EXCEPTIONAL and especially Shauna. She knows my order by heart and is always so welcoming and helpful. The spicy Jalapeño margarita is my go to drink and you must try their chicken nachos. So so so good. Keep rocking Tacos and Tequila.

Best corn dawg quesadilla on this side of the Mississippi. Service was sublime (with Rome).

Excellent fresh food and wonderful tequila selection and cocktails. We had the nachos and carne asada tacos and I had a hibiscus margarita. Nice end to Mothers Day. Want to come back for happy hour! Highly recommend.

My husband and I just enjoyed a fantastic lunch here. We were excited to see a new place open in Southglenn so had to pop in. Great ambiance and music, delicious food. The Birria (basically Mexican pot roast if you haven't had it before) was our favorite by far. We'll definitely be back. The owner also owns The Castle and Rusty Tapp so they know what they're doing.

That was a waist of my time and money , I went off the reviews of this place being the best in town it's obvious one of the owners wrote that . No flavor over priced no type of deals chipotle is better than this place literally wish I went there black beans were nasty and the rice was hard and had line as the flavor it was better off just being plain white rice I don't recommend this place at all

Love this place! Last time we were there, there was a drunk lady who yelled at me. But that happens I guess. Not the restaurants fault. One minute you are having a taco and the next you are being harassed. I never said one thing to her. It is a bar I guess. Tequila is in the name haha...

This might be the best food I've ever had in my life. I just came into pick up my take out and I was greeted by their lovely staff. Next time, I'm going to dine in. 10/10

The tacos were pretty bomb. Honestly I would have given this place a better rating if I didn't try their elotes, which, I don't even know why they would offer them (the elotes were terrible). starting off with the elotes made us a little skeptical about how the tacos would taste, but they were all pretty good! It was honestly nice finding some good birria tacos close by

This place is an ABSOLUTE rip off. $86 for three double don Julio reposados and soda??? That's more expensive than Aspen. That's ridiculous!!! No wonder places are closing left and right down here. Jesus

Excellent food, drinks and service. My house margarita was really good - not cloyingly sweet like in some places - and my carnitas burrito was huge, flavorful and tender. Service was great and the space is nice and comfortable.

The shrimp tacos are absolutely deliciou, but the real highlight of our visit was the top notch service! Shauna is attentive, quick and had great suggestion!

The birria was a great warm meal on a cold day. Service was friendly and very attentive. The decor is very cute and adds to a fun girls lunch.

House Margarita is super disappointing. Served in a stemless wine glass, 3/4 ice and super sweet.
