First off, this isn’t your standard Mexican spot that has free chips & salsa (you can order these). However, they do provide chicharonnes (very similar to pork rinds) to snack on while waiting on your meal. Soooo yummy and so satisfying to crunch crunch crunch. 😊 Don’t expect to find a numbered menu here either because this isn’t that kinda place. Again, it’s authentic.
What did I get? I got an asada (steak) huarache. If you notice, it’s shaped similar to a sandal hence the name. It’s made out of masa dough and topped with beans, onion, cilantro, cotija cheese, and whatever meat you choose. I love that they actually seasoned the steak and tasted so fresh. It was gone before I knew it…
My friend got their Tex Mex that has grilled chicken, steak, and shrimp on top of rice and covered in cheese. She used the tortillas (they make those themselves) that came with this dish and made tacos out of it.
Such a charming little spot! I felt really comfortable here with the chill atmosphere. Super friendly staff too!
