Best Restaurant Near CSN | Eater Vegas

"Inside a casual restaurant adorned with Catholic imagery and a candle-laden altar, this taco shop scoops spiced and marinaded meat into hot grilled tortillas with diced onions and cilantro. Popular choices include the quesabirria tacos in a crispy shell with consomme and carne asada and al pastor tacos." - Janna Karel

Google
Food was excellent. Price is OK (not cheap cheap). Definitely will come back to try more tacos. Interior: Lots of tables and seats. Someone was playing music when we were there for a Friday lunch, we didn't expect that but definitely enjoyed some Mexican live music.

Jimmy B

Google
Really good Mexican food and good service. Tacos were great and the burrito was very tasty. Everything was seasoned to perfection. The line was long during rush hour but moved along fairly well. I definitely would recommend this restaurant, as it is very authentic! Looking forward to returning again soon.

Google
The best quesabirra tacos in all of Las Vegas. Hands down. Usually pretty crowded no matter what time you go, if that’s any indication of the accuracy of my statement. Pricing isn’t too terrible, if you’re only getting the quesabirra tacos, it will probably require 3-4 for you to feel full, as they are a little small, which can start to add up price wise. Still the best of the best when it comes to taste.

Google
Delicious and excellent service specially the cashier, no waitress serves your self, for me better

Brian Marks

Google
I ordered 5 asada tacos and I got an unwanted bonus tripe added. I'm not into eating intestines so I threw it away after taking some pics and dry heaved outside.

Google
Just went there for to go and it was very good customer service very happy people there and kind i will go there again to go lol!!!!🫶🏻🙏🏻

Google
Just a hole in the wall type of place BUT the food is some of the best in Vegas! My fav is their big Carne Asada Burritos & there red sauce! & the staff is always cool people. I like to call my order in by phn 10 mins before I arrive so I can get in line, pay for it & receive our food without waiting. My only negative is they close kinda early like at 8 or 9pm.

Google
Heard this place was fire, even the reviews hype up the food. We were looking forward to trying it but I’m sorry it was garbage. I’ve never had Mexican food disappoint me but this food was so disappointing, especially for the price we paid. 2 burritos , 5 carne asada tacos & a horchata $37. I would NOT recommend this place. Tacos came plain with no toppings and beans in the burritos were cold. Should’ve went to farm basket across the street.

Yelp
Very tasty food and friendly customer service! A few hours after, I ate at a nearby restaurant and paid $70 for a wagyu beef dish that I didn't even enjoy or finish. Meanwhile, the $3 taco here was incredibly flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend! The place is unorganized tho, bathroom not clean. Will definitely visit again regardless.

Yelp
I always call ahead to pick up my to go order. Carne asada burrito and pozole are flavorful. Price is great considering the amount they give. The place could be a smell a little better and a lil cleaner but other than that i don't mind.

Yelp
After a long day, we were eager for a decent meal, but this place was a complete disaster. The area reeks of sewage, and the inside is filthy and outdated. It's hard to believe a restaurant in this condition is still open. The service was even worse. The cashier was rude and dismissive. When my husband asked for details about the menu items, she simply tapped on a picture, refusing to explain further. I asked what was in a torta, and instead of answering clearly, she gave a vague response and repeated condescendingly, "It's whatever comes in a regular torta." Each place makes them differently, so her answer was useless. We walked out without ordering. I would never come back here, and I strongly urge you to avoid this place. Don't waste your time or money.

Yelp
When I walked in, it reeked of cleaning solutions. It was the middle of the day so there's really no excuse as to why bleach orders were permeating through the air. The restaurant was crowded, humid, and the service was slow. I should've not stopped here because I could've gone to any taco truck for better food and faster service. Won't be coming back or refereeing anyone here.

Yelp
Heard that the chicken Mole here was exceptionally good on other reviews. It was busy when we got there, but it was my first time trying chicken mole, and it was good. Place is definitely a hole in the wall. But the staff were great at taking the order and making the food.

Yelp
Came for the first time and was craving quesabirria, loved it! Wasn't overly greasy and had great flavor
google avatar

Jovy S.

Yelp
Hidden gem that was recommended by a friend of mine. She raved about the tacos. Especially the quesabirria. So that's what I got. Let me say it ain't the best Birria in town BUT they are really Good!! Very meaty and cheesy. The consome was flavorful. I also got a large drink mixing pineapple and mango and happy to say they have Fresca (refills when dine in) on tap! Very refreshing! Service was fast. The vibe for me wasn't it so I took it to go. But otherwise I would come back to try other things on the menu and that's saying a lot for a picky eater like my self.

Yelp
I had to type another review of Tacos El Compita. I just had the Chicken Mole again for like the 8th time and OMG we were all mind blown all over again. This is hands down the best Mole I've ever had. Their Mole is better than the restaurant inside the Durango Hotel, and better than the Gorditas place on Decatur which is also really good but this is the BEST as of now! If you think you don't like Mole, but want to give it another try. Tacos El Compita is the place to go!!

Yelp
Caldo de res is delicious, as well as the birria and the menudo that my hubbi loved very much!!! Such a hidden gem, if you love as authentic Mexican food as it gets this is it!!
google avatar

Miguel S.

Yelp
Food is delicious and great quality! Love the sauce options as well as the pickled onions

Yelp
Stopped in here after having it on my radar for a few months. It's more of a fast dining/self service experience. Line up to order, stand/sit to wait for the food until it is called and then walk up to pick it up. Self service drinks, throw away your own trash, etc. so if you want service, this isn't for you. They are efficient and the line to order moves fast. The food took about 8-10 minutes to be prepared. They have 15'ish tables inside to eat at. Entrees are served on single use plates. However, the food was good and the prices are fair. The inside is relatively clean. The place was fairly busy when we got there but we did find a table.

Yelp
Very flavorful Mexican food from the tacos to the burritos Amazing salsa (red) the food juicy on its own a go to for a quick run

Edgar P.

Yelp
Very good quesabirria. Authentic mexican food. Delicious . Good service. Very fast . Very clean

Yelp
I have been ordering the same thing for years here at least 3 times a month and they NEVER get my order right. Carne asada burrito with Shrimp NO BEANS Extra Crema I usually order to go, but will have to cut the burrito open in the store just to make sure it's the correct order, the first order is usually always wrong. I will say this though, they do have the best burritos in town and that's why I keep coming back.
google avatar

Brianna P.

Yelp
The best mexican spot hands downnnnnn!! ugh my mouth waters thinking about this place. Hole in the wall but the service and food is sooooo worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
This place reminds me a lot of street tacos in LA. Came here last night for Taco Tuesday, we had carne asada, al pastor and cabeza tacos. The al pastor was good but what I really liked was yhe catne asada, it had so much flavor and the char on the meat made it even better. The cabeza was also good and had a good flavor. Will definitely comeback to try more from the menu, I saw they have pozole and saw some people eating and seem to really enjoy it.
google avatar

C P.

Yelp
Stopped here from out of town. Variety of meats. Son like the ramen birria. My tacos had everything on them. I should have said no salsa. It was too spicy for me. But will try again without salsa
google avatar

Malik R.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST birria I've had in Vegas. You can get three of them at a good price. I ordered mine to go and it came out within 7mins.
google avatar

Amber Z.

Yelp
Wow, what great authentic Mexican food. Staff professionally and quickly prepared the food so it was served hot. The decor was traditional. The food options were also standard, along with conventional Mexican beverage choices. Located within the strip mall off of Charleston is busy as Charleston is. It was pretty simple to get in and out of the parking lot, with plenty of parking available. I arrived a little 1, and while ordering, so many people came in that there was a line outside the door.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food no doubt, tripa, asada, al pastor are my favorites, crew is awesome also don't forget to tip

Yelp
* Food is delicious. If you're in the crave of some AUTHENTIC MEXICAN MENU food. THIS is my place I highly recommend. Not HIGHLY priced like others. * Service is prompt. They will bring your ordered soups to your table... * Ambiance is very casual, walk-in, eat in or take out. I give this place the highest rating.

Yelp
Now that I have moved (again), time to find a good local bowl of menudo. Alas, to be disappointed again, tried the one closest to my new digs. Was definitely a hole in the wall, with the TV tuned to a futbol game. Menudo was reasonably priced, but one has to walk across parking lot for gas station COF2E2! Menudo was somewhat tasty, but no oregano, and hastily prepared. Tripe not cut to bite-sized pieces, and a huge glob of fat sitting on bottom. Cooks should pay more attention to their craft than to who almost scored a goal. D+

Eddie F.

Yelp
This is my go to location for authentic Mexican tacos and burritos. Lots of flavor, hot sauces are great, and the food is so good. Burritos are delicious and big.
google avatar

Moni M.

Yelp
I have been coming to this establishment for several years and the food is truly authentic and delicious. I go to the east Tropicana location. It's the only place that I will go eat Menudo, it's so good!. The employees have been there a long time and recognize me when I go in. They already know how I like my Menudo when I order it. No pata/bone and they add hominy for me. I truly appreciate the awesome customer service that they give me. The food is fresh and delicious. I am a loyal customer. The inside could be upgraded a little but I don't really care about that. It's clean and simple.
google avatar

Yvette H.

Yelp
Went to W.Charleston location and the food was good although the workers passing through never said excuse me or anything and in the parking lot it was a guy hanging in the parking lot messing with customers through the window and at one point he urinated right in the parking lot by the window .I know you can't control what people do but it could be a deterrent for some. Will try the last location on the same side of town to see what this on brings.
google avatar

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Menudo was good but didn't like that fact they served it in a cheap plastic small bowl. also ordered beans, they were nasty
google avatar

S. L.

Yelp
Great food and family atmosphere.. I love how they make authentic carne asada the best in Vegas !
google avatar

Richard W.

Yelp
Fire Best place to go eat. Oh, and they are not stingy with over filling ur taco with meat.... Closest meat taste to California

Deannya T.

Yelp
The food is hands down some of the best tacos I've ever ate in Las Vegas but the customer service is a 0. I have never had a good conversation with them and have been hung up on numerous times because I don't speak Spanish. The say if I don't speak Spanish they cannot help me. The place doesn't look that great either and it's always crowded. I would say go and get some tacos but if you don't speak Spanish they probably will be rude asf to you and treat you like trash. If you're ok with that to get a good meal then by all means go there, the food is delicious.
google avatar

Lin G.

Yelp
This place is LEGIT! My first time getting goat tacos and it will not be my last. They have all the good meats, like lengua and cabeza, though when I went they were out of lengua. I got two cabeza tacos and a birria taco. All were good and the birria taco was to die for good. It was my first time eating a real taco in hard shell with cheese and wow, let's just say, they do it right. Get the three taco combo so you can get the broth too. Not the best place to come if you need to go to the bathroom probably. There was some homeless guy sitting out front too. I washed my hands by the front cash register. Pay in cash to avoid 50 cent charge for using credit card, which they don't tell you about either. It's the authentic joints that hate credit cards. Whenever a place prefers cash, you know the food is legit and the owners are straight from some developing country where they don't trust credit cards. I feel you I feel you. The back completes the authentic appeal with a stuffed animal machine that looks like it hasn't been used in decades and a table dedicated to the Virgin Mary with tons of dusty candles with the Virgin Mary photo printed on the side and some sad fake flower. A single one. Can't get any better than that.
google avatar

Luis P.

Yelp
Still good as ever! Came in for a quick phone order pickup of their delicious quesabirria and the 5-taco plate (buche, cabeza, tripas, al pastor) for lunch and wasn't disappointed. Forget all these other "trending" taquerias, Tacos El Compita is where it's at, serving you freshly made and authentic-tasting tacos at a price that won't make you sweat!
google avatar

Camila S.

Yelp
My friends & I went to dine in . Food was okay for them . Just I went to bathroom. Was not up to standards .bathroom Was dirty looked like wasn't clean for days . stuff need to improved their cleaning habits system. The lobby needs to clean more often during business hours. Over all the maintenance and cleaning needs to improve. And the lady cashier . Who was on the afternoon shift needs to have more friendly costumer service. I even just ordered to go food but never had ate inside .
google avatar

Yelp
I finally found the best burrito in Las Vegas. Hands down the Carne asada no bean. My brain automatically tells me that every 8 days or so, I need this burrito. I rotate, too, between the red and green salsa. Don't get the Pozole.
google avatar

Yelp
Passing through back home to Cali, I wanted menudo in this crazy heat! Thanks to many recommendations from fellow Californians, we came here and wasn't disappointed with their menudo. Very tasty! Hubby had the carne asada burrito and gave it a thumbs up Note: menudo did not have maíz. I'm not sure if you can request some. I know some people like maíz in their menudo. It's busy but line moves.
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
Very friendly staff and the food was amazing they are always busy but fast . Will go back and try other items on the menu prices are reasonable. The red salsa is very delicious
google avatar

Ronda J.

Yelp
Went here for the menudo!! Let me tell you.. BEST MENUDO IVE HAD IN A LONG TIME!!! I will be back!!! Super busy but worth the wait!!!!
google avatar

Ania K.

Yelp
Quesabirria tacos for the win! Sometimes I wake up in the morning craving some birria. You know what I mean? Stewed and super tender meat, glorious cheese, a sprinkle of onion that softens from all that hot and juicy meat, and then it all comes together in a tortilla that's crisped up. And let's not forget the flavorful consommé that you get to dip these babies into! Don't forget to squirt some lime on every inch of these and into the consommé! Sooooooooo damn good! Everything just melts in your mouth. I close my eyes and pretend I'm in Tijuana for a few seconds. :)
google avatar

Bethany V.

Yelp
Amazing asada street tacos! Loved the green sauce at the toppings bar. Husband got the birria tacos and they were great too! Highly recommend going a bit out of the way for this tasty place!

Lorenzo E.

Yelp
The most greasy tacos I ever had, every time I took a bite grease came out! Carne asada fries weren't good at all, made me sick!!! Avoid coming here unless you want to get sick! Had to make a yelp account to warn others

Taylor D.

Yelp
Beware of inconsistent prices & upcharging!!!! Purchases 2 quesabirria tonight (2/24) around 6:30pm, priced at less than $10 on the menu, with rice and beans for each, adding $4 total. It was pretty busy but seemed decently staffed. The food should have been $24 MAX. Unless SOMEWHERE there's a 30% tax on food, our total should not have been the $35 that it was. There's no real register either so you can't tell what is being rang up, and you don't get an itemized receipt. The cashier also ripped off my itemized receipt as soon as it printed. Absolutely insane. If this business is struggling and if it needs to raise the prices, then RAISE THE PRICES. I feel completely taken advantage of. The food is good but not worth that price. I'm not sure if it's specifically when certain people are taking the order, or when certain people are ordering, but definitely beware. If this happens to you, please question the prices. Wont be back and will be warning others.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Great quality for price. The employees were such sweethearts. Great little place. It may not look like much from the outside. But the food is worth a 2nd and 3rd round. Or More

Yelp
I was confused when it was packed at 10am on a weekday but after I got my food I understood. Very tasty and worth the wait

Yelp
https://photos.app.goo.gl/vtx7NqJKX83iq1AN6 Tacos El Compita #3 is my favorite restaurant! The Lenqua Torta are absolutely delicious and the service is fast and friendly. This place is always busy! People know where to find good food.

Yelp
When I'm on the West side of town, this is my go to place for Quesabirria tacos!!! They make the BEST & CHEAPEST 3 tacos combo plate in Las Vegas! They come out hot and freshly made, yummy!! Lots of stewed beef (which I prefer), melted cheese placed inside a crispy fried taco shell! Includes pickled red onions and a small consume', they also have the usual side of condiments, sliced radish & limes, sliced carrots and whole jalapeños, along with chopped onions & cilantro. Think of them as another version of Roberto's but the specialize in Birrias! Braddah Fred gives them 5 Shaka signs, ... one of Da Best! Give it a try and it'll broke ya mouth! LOL...
google avatar

Edward A.

Yelp
Don't let the location fool you, good service and bomb food. Menudo with or without grano. Tacos are legit carne asada is done over flames and you can taste the difference love this spot.

Richard G.

Yelp
Great food all the way !!! I had the Birria Nachos, Queso Birria tacos and some Asada street tacos to boot . The food was amazingly delicious and cooked to order. They speak both English and Spanish and accept all most methods of payment. I highly recommend this place of your looking for some authentic food.
google avatar

Jess R.

Yelp
I eat tacos from here every Saturday, I literally will cry if I don't get them- I look forward to them every weekend. The staff is always so warm and welcoming, please give their food a try!!!!!!!!!

Jose G.

Yelp
cashier is rude . and they never answer the phone. I've been here a couple times . the food is actually super good . to bad that I have to dock it it rating cause of the rude cashier.

Yelp
Quesabirria tacos here are super legit! It was crunchy, flavorful, cheesy and packed with beef. It also comes with the delicious dip on the side. This place is just a simple hole in the wall with great friendly staff. It has a good amount of tables and seats if you decide to dine in. It was busy when I arrive around lunch time, so I recommend calling in for your order to avoid long waits.
