Google
Hands down the best tacos 🌮 I've had since visiting Mexico and it's not even close! The way they have you order is unique and efficient. Best Al pastor I've ever had. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Google
Tacos were delicious and juicy, no doubt. Very authentic tacos. However, the waiting time is ridiculous. We waited more than an hour to be assisted. The service is very slow.

Daniel G.

Google
Best tacos in Las Vegas, we are from Tijuana and this is the closest you can get, compared to the best spots in tijuana i give this a 8.6 out of 10. Highly recommended tye Trompo tacos obviously thats the staple dish! Good luck finding parking and a spot to sit. Come with a plan one orders and others go find seating. Lol.

Google
Disgusting place!!! While at the restaurant a customer found worms in their tacos!!! The employees laughed it off as if nothing had happened and brushed off the customer. However, the manager or who I believe to be the manager came to the customer and admitted it was worms and blamed it on the cilantro. They payed for the customers food and called it a day. What they should have done was close down the restaurant and thrown away all the food who know how many customers unknowingly ate contaminated food.

Google
I couldn’t believe how delicious the tacos were. I’ve eaten a lot of tacos in my life, and already am a huge fan of tacos and Mexican food in general. However, from the first bite of their pastor (adobada pork tacos), my mind was blown. Easily the best I’ve ever had in my life. Pastor was already my favorite choice of taco filling, but Tacos el Gordo’s especially blew the rest out of the waters. Thank you so much for this experience! Muchas Gracias!!!

Google
The old cashier lady on Jan 2nd needs a attitude check. She was rude to every single person she encountered. She didnt respond to any questions just points and had a smug attitude while doing it. Other than her, food was great.

Google
Did a drive through. Ordered tacos and vampiros. Carne asada did not disappoint. Service was moderately quick considering the amount of customers. Affordable price. Always my go-to in Las Vegas.

Google
First time customer. I was passing by on my way back from the Valley of Fire State Park. For noon on a Monday, the place was very busy. I ordered 3 Asada Tacos with guacamole. the tacos were tasty and made to order. It took less than 3 minutes. Some previous reviews complained about the prices, but it is expensive to run a facility these days. Some previous reviews complained about the ordering process, but there are signs everywhere to tell customers how it works. Maybe I missed it, but they should offer fresh chips and salsa. They do offer French fries. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant.

Yelp
SO GOOD. The pork with pineapple taco blows my mind. It's so good and please ask for the pineapple, they won't give u unless u ask ! The tripa was fried and imo was too fried, my partner got head and lengua, both were very delicious. We got this back in San Diego, and this is equally good Service can be slow depends on time of the day

Yelp
I've been going to Tacos El Gordo ever since they only had one location on Charleston and now there's like 4 or 5 locations in Vegas. It's still my go-to spot when I'm craving adobada fries and tacos. The quality and flavor have always stayed consistent-- that smoky, juicy adobada with the pineapple hits every single time! Huge shoutout to the guy in the adobada line-- his customer service is always excellent! No matter how busy it gets, he's always friendly, quick and makes sure everything's done right. You can tell he takes pride in what he does! My usual order : adobada fries, adobada tacos (don't forget the pineapple!) plus lengua and cabeza tacos with grilled onions and jalapeños on the side. Everything's made fresh and the flavors never miss! If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out on one of Vegas' best taco spots. There's a reason the line is always worth it!
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
Waste of time, just skip this place and find a taco truck nearby No direction for the lines even tho they are marked with arrows waited over 30 mins in line at the line MARKED ASADA to be told by the guy that this is the adobada line... yet 2 girls before were served asada and he wanted to argue with my husband about it. You have the lines marked out by type of meat but don't go by that... make it make sense Walked out without food Wont be returning ever
google avatar

Yelp
Yeah, my favorite tacos in the whole world. I said what I said! Tacos El Gordo is always packed for a reason, it's THAT good. I highly recommend this location as opposed to the one on the strip because it'll likely be less busy, but it can still get packed late at night or after a concert/game. I always order cabeza and lengua tacos. If you can get past what part of the cow that is, order these tacos and you won't regret it. It's so flavorful, slightly fatty, and definitely the best tacos I've ever had in my life. Don't forget to ask for a side of the grilled onions! Tacos El Gordo is always a must get every time I visit Vegas. I'm already looking forward to my next visit :)

Yelp
I had not been to a tacos el Gordo in a long long time! It's one of my favorite taco chain restaurants. Strictly tacos and soooooo delicious! I love that they have so many different meat types that you don't find in many other taco restaurants. They also have "mulas" which is 2 corn tortillas on top of each other filled with meat of choice and cheese. Their ordering system is very different. They have multiple lines, each line is a different set of meats for you to order from and a separate counter to pay. Prices aren't too bad. They have a separate little cart area with self serve radish and lime wedges. I will confess and say that I judge a taco place if they don't have radish. I grew up eating tacos with radish on the side so I am always sad if/when a taco place doesn't have radish lol. Glad this place has radish! 5 stars for that! Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for authentic and delicious tacos! They're not frugal with their portions either. We actually stopped by to get our fix twice during this trip because there is no tacos el gordo in SATX (sadly) :(. This location used to be a gas station and is now all the taco shop and parking spaces + drive-thru. It is always so crowded and such good energy/ambiance.
google avatar

Sydney Y.

Yelp
There is no way this taco shop should have less than 4.5 stars on Yelp. These are hands down the best tacos I have had in my entire life. I have had tacos in different parts of Mexico, Europe, and all over the United States and nothing compares. I ordered four to start which were tripa, lengua, cabeza, and adobada and every single one was incredible. The meats were moist, tender, and full of flavor. I loved them so much that I went back for seconds on the tripa and lengua. The toppings make them even better so be sure to add avocado crema, cilantro, and onions. Make sure to bring cash because they do not accept tips on cards. Truly unforgettable tacos and this place is a must visit.

Yelp
I don't know what all the hype of about. I guess coming from LA we have so many great taco places. I really didn't like the set up. One line if you want asada, another if you want al pastor, etc.. then you got to carry your tray and get in another line to pay and get your cup to go get a drink. Who came up with this idea and why? The tacos were pricey but decent size. The asada tacos used freshly made corn tortillas. I heard the food was better at the Tacos El Gordo on the strip. So if you don't mind the long line and want to try it for yourself, I would try that one. Happy eating!
google avatar

Chelsea H.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT FALL FOR THE HYPE OF THIS PLACE. Tacos El Gordo? Nah, more like Tacos El Garbage. Who is Gordo? Because I need to speak with him. When you first arrive, theres multiple lines, you stand in line at whichever meat you want, but nowhere did it state that you had to do that. Everyone was standing at line number 1, line went out the door. If the establishment knew that people were mistaken about where to stand in line, they should make an announcement, or put up signs. But noooo, they just stared at everyone stupidly. Moving forward, you ask for your tacos, which takes an eternity for them to make for some reason and then you carry your tray with you until you're done collecting your tacos like pokeballs and head over to the register to pay. But due to them not telling everyone that they don't have to all stand at line 1, the register line ran perpendicular to that line causing a huge jam. We were in line for Al pastor tacos but they took way too long so we ended up just getting 10 asada tacos. They kept pushing out togo orders and ignoring in store orders. The tacos had an outrageous about on guac on it, probably used to hide how dry their meat was. Meat was over cooked and had a lingering wet rag taste. Fyi quesadillas are double the price of tacos, but they're the same size. Make that make sense. After all that, you can finally sit down to eat your dry ass tacos. At which point we've been in the establishment for about an hour. The salsa bar does not have salsa. And the employees seem to hate their jobs. Everyone was very rude. We took 1 bite and decided to wrap it up and take it Togo because we were so upset. Honestly, if you live in California and have had tacos in LA or OC area, you've had soooo much better. Our taco stands on every corner are guaranteed 100% better than Tacos El Garbage. Save your money and go elsewhere. That is all. Bye.
google avatar

Oscar C.

Yelp
I'm not gonna wait a half an hour to get a taco forget all that they're not that good
google avatar

Amelia C.

Yelp
I liked the chorizo taco the most. I've tried the beef head and tongue at this location, but it wasn't as good as the one in San Diego. Ordering is a bit confusing/chaotic when busy bec you stand in different lines for the different meats you want.
google avatar

Randy P.

Yelp
This is a must stop! We tried several tacos and vampiro's soo good. Food is fast and so delicious, it simple but still great flavor and seasoning. We have eaten there twice in our short stay Definitely recommend this place
google avatar

Annika G.

Yelp
Absolutely disgusted! I had 2 orders of tostadas, and my tostada shells were burnt. Not to mention that the tostadas are already a little pricey, but regardless of that, I was hungry, so I ate the non-burnt part which was a waste of money. Truly disappointed.
google avatar

Annie H.

Yelp
Love that they have a drive thru. Tacos are amazing, a bit pricey but worth it. I love tripas tacos and they make it crispy and very flavorful. One of my favorite taco spots in Vegas. The drive thru is a huge plus since I have two toddlers so it's very convenient to get.
google avatar

Patti P.

Yelp
This is most flavorful and authentic carne asada in Las Vegas. It is very hard to find San Diego style Mexican food outside of San Diego, so I am glad that Tacos el Gordo is here. This is not a fancy eatery, but the tables are kept clean. You line up according to the type of meat you want, and they carve it as you order. Sometimes the lines are long, but they move quickly. The food is always hot and fresh, and the portions are very generous. The green and red salsas (available at the cash register) are very good and have a nice level of spiciness. This is one of our go-to spots.
google avatar

Se L.

Yelp
Makes no sense to have to wait in 2-4 different lines to order different tacos. When each line takes an average of 15 minutes at the least. I don't suggest this place unless you have like a 2 hour lunch break. 1 hour will likely not cut it here.

Maria G.

Yelp
After an hour in the drive thru line what is this??!!! The colombian lady taking the orders is so rude and rolls her eyes for everything. I payed for a carne asada quesadilla not a burn tortilla
google avatar

Raymond M.

Yelp
Went through the drive-thru and it ended up taking around 20 minutes, which felt pretty long for just a few tacos. I ordered the lengua, carne asada, cabeza, and suadero tacos. The carne asada and suadero were definitely the best -- really tasty.
google avatar

Jenn S.

Yelp
Don't just go here just for their traditional albeit amazing adobada, similar to al pastor, tacos, but rather go here if you like the ugly bits from a cow or pig! Their cabeza (head meat), lengua (tongue), buche (pig stomach), and tripa (tripe/intestine) tacos are some of the BEST! All succulent and braised/boiled/simmered to flavorful perfection. What's even better is if you get these on their french fries with the works! This is always my go to when I'm in Vegas either for a snack or first meal and of course as a night cap even after a full on Michelin restaurant meal. I like to go to the other locations that are not on the strip because the lines aren't as crazy and the seating is plentiful! Oh and must wash everything down with their fountain served Horchata! It's a must!
google avatar

Anthony B.

Yelp
The food is good but this is literally the third time that I've been here in the last two weeks I've come at 12 o'clock or 1130 or 1230 and they don't have pork they only have chorizo or Asada so I'm just not sure. I don't understand why you guys have that on your menu if you're not gonna serve it while you're open it's ridiculous. I used to come here a lot more, but I'm not I'm just gonna find somewhere else to go.
google avatar

Sean D.

Yelp
These tacos are phenomenal, it's the perfect street taco! Cilantro and onion and the meat that's all you need. I had the pastor and buche.....delicious and perfectly cooked. The corn tortillas used are just how I like it and I seriously couldn't ask for a better taco. The staff and service are quick and friendly. I was in the wrong line for pastor but the chef on my line hooked it up. There's plenty of seating and the lines move quick. I think there are 2 locations but this one has the better parking because the other location is on the strip. The ambiance is very fascinating because it's a gas station that screams taco shop and what a great taco shop it is. Can't come to Vegas without getting some of these tacos, they're open till 4 am.
google avatar

Michael N.

Yelp
My first time going to Tacos El Gordo was amazing. The last two times I've gone, it's so mid. Even though the Aldobada line was "not that long", we still waited a good 1.5 hrs since everyone ordered 10+ tacos. Unfortunately, we had the end bits, and it was very dry and flavorless. I wouldn't recommend this place anymore given the long wait. The only thing we had that was good, was the Guac, but everything else was quite dry.
google avatar

Matthew C.

Yelp
As usual, the tacos here were delicious and the orange bang satisfied like no other. I constantly wish I could drink it every day but alas, I don't live nearby. I got lucky this time around and came between meal rushes, so I didnt have to wait long at all to order. To this day, adobada tacos were the ones to get. The flavors of the sauce and meat just work so well it's still in my book the #1 choice of meat. Stellar meal as expected and I can't wait to come again.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
Good as usual. It's all about the pastor. But I didn't taste pineapple as much today I forgot to ask for some pieces so my fault. Flour tortilla for me because allergic to corn. Yummy sauce and salsa. Lot of room And wow no wait today no like walked right up! Hit it at the best time!
google avatar

Thomas D.

Yelp
TEG is probably the best fast food taco chain around. The food is very delicious and satisfying. Although decent prices, the soft drink markup must be amazing because it's about $4 for a medium cup. Quick ordering when you know how it works. Paying is easy too. This place is better than Roberto's, Habanero Grill and so many more...
google avatar

Denysia Y.

Yelp
Bruh the food here was so freaking good! And you gotta understand that we had just finished driving to Vegas and after 5 hours of me not eating anything except chips and getting there and being super hungry you bet your bottom that I was ready to grub! I got one of their el pastro (pork) tacos, and also three of their asada (beef) tacos and everything was so very good! I also got one of the drinks from there too and omg, they had a lot of options for their soft drinks. I tried out their horchata and that stuff was so good and quite refreshing on a hot day! I would recommend if you are in Vegas to go check out any of the taco el gordo places! I'm not sure if the other locations take card but this one does!
google avatar

Mario T.

Yelp
We've been coming to this location for a long time, and it's always been one of our go-to spots. The food has consistently been great, and until today, we've never had a bad experience -- which makes writing this review disappointing. Tonight, we came with a group of 11, including family visiting from out of town. Unfortunately, the server who started his shift around 6pm changed the entire vibe of the evening. His customer service was shockingly poor. From the moment we placed our order, it felt like we were bothering him. His communication was short, dismissive, and frankly rude. It got to the point where we didn't even feel comfortable ordering everything we originally wanted -- which says a lot given the size of our party. We ended up ordering anyway, mainly because our guests were excited to try the food we've always spoken so highly of. Thankfully, the food was still great -- just as we remembered -- but the service cast a shadow over the entire experience. We truly hope this was a one-off issue and not a sign of declining service. We'd love to keep coming back, but the way we were treated tonight was unacceptable and needs to be addressed.
google avatar

Grecia P.

Yelp
At first I thought I was tripping, but no they really served me adobada from the Mexican store, not the one prepared at tacos el gordo that comes out bright red & nicely sliced. This is the 3rd time tacos el gordo has done this. When you order adobada, you expect to get the adobada sliced from the adobada trompo. It's pretty disappointing they serve a different adobada than the one they advertise. It only happens in the drive thru as you cannot see them slice off the meat. I should've just got off.
google avatar

Caroline S.

Yelp
Without a doubt, the best tacos, best service, clean facility, amazing staff, I can say enough.
google avatar

Dawn S.

Yelp
My family was driving thru Las Vegas and realized Tacos El Gordo is here. We lived in San Diego next to the original location. This place is the BEST! We ordered Adobada Tacos, Cabesa Tacos, Adobada Fries, Mulas and loved it all. If you want the best food around just go... Tacos El Gordo is it!

Samantha M.

Yelp
I'm so sad!! I really had high hopes because everytime I drive by here it's packed!! It was festive inside and looked clean, they are actively cooking infront of you making you think your food will be hot. I got 3 nopal and 3 asada tacos. The nopal was slimy and the asada was not great. The salsa, guacamole and tortillas tasted good, I just wish my food was hot. I'm so disappointed. It was so packed inside and the lines are confusing. I spent 45 minutes waiting to pay 26$ for the most mid tacos.

Aaron E.

Yelp
Came here for the Pastor tacos which they are famous for and waited in the drive thru line just to find out they ran out? How are you going to be known for something and not have it. Poor management and very disappointed
google avatar

Makalia M.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and ordered 8 asada street tacos with cilantro& onions, two with guacamole and 4 with red salsa. It wasn't too busy and service was quick. You have to stand in line ,under the meat of your choice. They had a self service station to get your Lyman other condiments. Then you go across to the drink counter where you can purchase your drinks and buy your food. They make their tortillas fresh and the asada was delicious it has so much flavor. But everything else was lacking in flavor the guise had no flavor taste like watery avocado. Red salsa had no flavor as well. And tortilla even though fresh had no flavor . It was decent but it definitely not up to the hype . And i probably won't be back. And there late much butter tacos place in Las Vegas.
google avatar

Gilbert S.

Yelp
This place has progressively gotten worse when it comes to the quality of the food and customer service. No matter how many times you repeat an order back to them, they somehow seem to fk it up . In both English and Spanish. Food is overpriced as it is. Just to get all the way home and see your order has items they are not in there but also to find out they put a cheaper replacement. I ask for green salsa and all I get is a handful of salt and 3 napkins. The girls hands me a drink that I had to order at the window because she wasn't paying attention even tho she repeated the order back to me. Then she proceeds to hand it to me with the lid half on so it then spills. $60 for what? Bad service, salty/burned food. Y'all can have that garbage. Too many better taco shops in town and yes I'll take my business elsewhere.
google avatar

Tera G.

Yelp
This place is the real deal! Cooks are making the food right in front of you, including fresh tortillas. Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Quick service. Clean, cool eating area.
google avatar

Crystal R.

Yelp
Family and I ordered our late lunch to go as we were in the area. First time at this location and luckily we ordered before it got busy. The complex is clean and condiments were well organized. We enjoyed all of their tacos. I loved the Lengua Quesadilla the most! The employees here are welcoming, attentive and helpful throughout the ordering process and at the cashier stand. I suggest this location to everyone. I've honestly always supported Tacos El Gordo ever since I've visited their original taco shop location in San Diego California back in 2014. Till this day their quantity and quality of their tacos and quesadillas has been consistent!
google avatar

Eddie C.

Yelp
Tacos El Gordo is a Vegas Mexican food staple. The wait was the worst part. But it wasn't for bad service or workers, it was because lots of people were there. The food was really good. I ordered 1 lengua (tongue) taco, and 4 pastor (spicy pork) tacos. The size wasn't the biggest I've ever had, but they also weren't the smallest. They were the right size for street style tacos. The meat tasted really good, and the tacos were covered with some really good creamy green sauce. I got a side of grilled onions and a jalapeño to eat with them. The price point was also pretty average. Coming in a little over $4 a taco, they were just slightly above average for price. But they were worth it. It was a good experience! Only knocking one star off because it took a long time to order and get my food.
google avatar

Roxane S.

Yelp
The $7 quesadilla is not a quesadilla it's the size of a taco with just cheese and meat and $4 dollars for a taco that had nothing but fatty meat never again disgusting
google avatar

Mic G.

Yelp
Very nicely done while in Vegas did place gets packed coz food is delicious and the vibe is perfect
google avatar

Laura A.

Yelp
Tacos El Gordo is a very casual restaurant that serves Tijuana Style tacos. All the tacos are some sort of beef (eye balls, guts, brains, tongue, head meat, etc.) or pork on what seems like hand made tortillas. They have four locations in Las Vegas. Ordering is very confusing at the North Las Vegas location. Depending on what kind of taco you are getting you have to ask for it at FOUR different windows. Then you pay and get your beverage at another window. Then you seat yourself. We tried a variety of tacos. Between us we tried the asada, cabeza, chorizo tacos and got the complimentary fried onions and jalapeno. Today we thought some tacos were better than other tacos. The best two might have been the chorizo and the cabeza. The chorizo had the most flavor and the cabeza had a tasty sauce on it. We BOTH thought the worst one was the asada. Today the asada had very little flavor and was chewy and had hard gristle in it making it very unpleasant to eat. Prices are low and the tacos get packed with lots of meat.
google avatar

Diana A.

Yelp
Always five stars for Tacos El Gordo! We stopped in from Arizona headed to Sacramento. They had to be some of the best tacos ever. Every time we stop in San Diego or Las Vegas we are sure to stop at Tacos El Gordo. There was plenty of room for inside seating as well. The cooks were super friendly, and the service overall were fast.

La M.

Yelp
I come here thought the drive thru all the time. Probably 3 or 4 times a week. Lady taking my order is extremely rude. I've never Had a problem with anyone but here but with her. She was extremely rude. Kept making sighing noises and even yelled "Oh my god " while taking my order because she could not hear me. Honestly it's probably the last time I come here. If you don't wanna take my order and be rude about it, then fine I'll just stop coming here. Such a shame, because there was another lady who used to do the drive-through, and she was super nice. Don't think she works here anymore though. Lost a customer.
google avatar

Fred T.

Yelp
Have seen Tacos El Gordo many times while heading to North Las Vegas. I'm one and done. Living in Los Angeles quality authentic Mexican food, especially tacos is a standard. The menu is strictly taco based and that is not bad but the variety is the type of tacos (various meats) offered. I opted for a tostada - not what I expected. Anyway, even in Las Vegas there are tons of Mexican style restaurants offering tacos and the normal assortment. The tacos are $4 plus and a 12 oz can of Coca-Cola or similar beverage is $3 plus.

Yamilee C.

Yelp
these have to be the best tacos I love places that use yellow/corn tortilla the carne with everything on it MMM and the horchata on a side. I been there after concerts be hitting different at night
google avatar

Jose G.

Yelp
It's chaotic because of the amount of people but worth navigating when you are patient and hungry. Don't show up hangry because you will be disappointed. All of the tacos are delicious
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Best Tacos in town, bar none. However their prices have gone wild. I started eating here at $2.10 a taco and it has now surpassed double that amount. I used to eat here every month or more, now... Maybe twice a year.
google avatar

Vanessa T.

Yelp
First thing that sticks out is the line is a little erratic. There are different lines for different orders of meat. It would go faster if there was an online option to order and they just call out a name/number. Got the adobada tacos. Sauce bar has cut lime and whole and sliced radishes. Didn't have pineapple on the tacos but I suppose it was used to marinate the meat. It was very soft and tender. It's very crowded, busy, and hot. There are fans that run and ice cubes mixed in the sauce bar to keep everything cool. I hate to say this but I have had better taco experiences in other places. It may have been overhyped for me which is what led me to my disappointment. Sweaty, long lines and no places to sit isn't fun. I found a wet towel to clean an empty table. Decent experience nonetheless and glad to have tried it out.

Yelp
google avatar

Austin L.

Yelp
I got 2 tacos and a quesadilla. They were ready in about 30 seconds. The quesadilla was not like I expected but a pile of meat with cheese and a flour tortilla on the bottom. The top had a corn tortilla and guacamole that could not have been better. I wish I had less salsa on my tacos, they were spicy but I ate every last bite. You order in a line based off the meat you would like, it's easy to understand with how they have it set up.
