There’s a massive difference between having a meal, and having a meaningful culinary experience. Walking into Tacos el Metro on Walnut Hill immediately makes you feel right at home. The theme is México City subway, and a huge map is the first thing you see; I could actually show my wife my old subway stop and then memories just hit you squarely. With great expectations, we ordered the barbacoa tacos with consomé; the flavor intense, the rich sauce, embracing, and the blue corn tortillas wrapping the soft, flavorful barbacoa meat, 10/10 so far. Then we just had a tour of tacos, including suadero, rib eye carne asada, pastor and even a tostada de tinga. One after another our taste was inundated with complex, yet delicate textures from the different tacos, like flowing down a trajinera in Texcoco on a bright Sunday afternoon. We are true converts to this place now and promise to come back many a time in the future!
