I want to share a very, very, frustrating experience that I know Tacos Fuegos knows about, but doesn't really care about. Nor does it try to prevent it from happening. I feel confident in writing this because I've had the chance to share my experience with friends, family and co-workers and all of them know a friend or family member that have suffered through the same experience.
My boss introduced me to Tacos Fuego a few months ago, and I enjoyed their food enough to start taking my friends there to catch up with each other's lives and enjoy a nice lunch.
Today, after I finished lunch with my friend, I walked into the parking lot and immediately realized that my car was stolen. I was pretty flustered. I caught my friend before he left the parking lot and he gave me a ride to the police station.
After the police assigned me a case number and wished me luck, we decided to drive back to Tacos Fuego to see if they had cameras in the parking lot. They did, so I went into the restaurant and ran into Jeniffer, the lady that served us during our lunch session. I told her that my car was stolen from the parking lot and asked if they could look at their cameras to see who took it. She looked me straight in the eye and said matter of factly, "It wasn't stolen, it was towed. Follow me." I followed her to the front of the restaurant and she introduced me to the manager who was being screamed at by a couple that had their car towed too! I remember the couple because they were parked right next to me. When I realized that my car was gone and went to the police station, their car was still there. I guess it was towed in the time that it took me to file a police report and return to Tacos Fuego.
Apparently, this happens all the time. I take the blame for not seeing the sign. The No Parking sign wasn't marked well, but I should've known better. I'm sure that the Old Bag that owns Pink Flamingo Hair Salon - and the parking lot that my car was towed from - stares out the crack of her partially open back door daily looking for her next victims.
If I owned Tacos Fuegos, I would go to extreme measures to ensure that future patrons know about the towing scam that is being run by Pink Flamingo Hair Salon. Honestly, if people saw CLEARLY marked no parking signs, they WOULDN'T park there.
Thankfully, I'm blessed to be able to afford lunch, and the $398 towing fee that RMA Towing charged me for legally stealing my car. My heart goes out to the folks that can't afford it. Single mothers catching up with their friends, old couples on fixed pensions, etc.
I think what really has me shaking my head about Tacos Fuegos is that they know that this happens and don't really go to any measure to warn their patrons.
I've already shared this message with friends, family, and co-workers. I've whole heartedly recommended that they forego lunch plans at Tacos Fuego.
