Loved it! If a place has been in business for 27 years (as of the date of this review), they are doing something right. 😉 A hole in the wall appearance from outside but inside, the atmosphere is great. Friendly staff and vivid colorful interiors welcome you. You have to pre-order. I was there for lunch with a friend and we tried out Barbacoa Quesadilla and Chicken Tacos. The restaurant was kind enough to give us chips and salsa on the house. Much appreciated. Seems to be a popular spot. Quite a lot of people came in once we were seated. It's easy to miss if you are driving by, so you just have to keep an eye out.

Google
Tacos were great!! The rice & beans were nothing to write home about, but the chips & salsa were great too.

Google
Love this place! The breakfast burritos are huge and so freaking amazing! I usually get mine stuffed with everything (eggs, bacon, pico, potato, beans) just mouthwatering good every bite. Chris got the Menudo and absolutely fell in love with how authentic it is! We will for sure be back 10/10

Google
A staple of Beaumont. The best place in town for street taco truck style tacos 🌮 in my opinion. The best prices and basically a much cooler version of chipotle with way more flavor lower prices and better service. Will be back for more 🌮 and to try the breakfast. Thanks yall ‼️

Google
Don't make a taco run anywhere else until you have tried the barbacoa tacos here. Unbelievably flavorful and perfect with the salsa verde and a fresh squeeze of lime. Pair it with an ice cold horchata and you won't want to go anywhere else for tacos ever again.

Google
Great place, delicious food, customer service 10/10, I recommend you guys get the tacos they are my favorite!!, Tacos la bamba has been here for almost 28 years I’m in love with this place besides each day they have a very great deal with specials

Google
My family and I ate here and it was AMAZING! HIGHLY recommended if you want authentic tacos! I had tacos al pastor and they were absolutely awesome!

Google
Love the art throughout. You order at the counter. Chips are homemade, salsa is ok. The enchiladas were good, different than any other I've tried. They are only filled with cheese, folded in half. Meat is on the side. It comes with beans. All priced reasonably. Parking in front and on the side.

Yelp
Tacos La Bamba is straight fire! Came here on a nice Saturday afternoon because I had work in the area. Coming from Houston, my expectations were kind of high, but Tacos La Bamba greatly exceeded expectations! 10/10 would recommend! I don't come to Beaumont often so I knew I wanted to support a local spot for lunch. Tacos were on my mind so this was an easy choice based on other's reviews. I ended up trying all 5 of their meats on tacos. They had beef asada, pork carnitas, al pastor, barbacoa, and chicken. Corn tortillas are a must for me and cilantro/onions are a necessity. What was surprising was also their red/green salsas. Both made in house, the green was a little spicy and fresh, while the red was smoky and complex. Then to wash it all down, I had their refreshing horchata as well. Tacos La Bamba seems like a Beaumont staple. They had a good lunch crowd with quick service. The interior is very colorful with a beautifully painted "Dia de los Muertos" animal theme. I will 100% come back whenever I'm in Beaumont again, cheers! PS. They have a little outdoor patio area too if the weather is nice.

Yelp
Horrible service, lied and said they were closed after we came back in to get our order correct.

Yelp
Authentic homemade Mexican food like my grandma is in their kitchen cooking. Greeted with a smile when you come in the door. Great service and my food came out quick. Great salsa. If the beans are good, you're in the right place for some legitimate Mexican food. The beans were perfect! Come check them out if you're in the area

Yelp
Low quality photo, high quality food! We love this place great tacos, great staff! This is our favorite place for good tacos!

Yelp
Why aren't you already eating here!?! They have the best tacos in town. The restaurant is colorful and the staff very nice. It's not fancy but it's great food. Just go, You won't regret it.

Yelp
Worst Mexican food restaurant in Beaumont. Store bought dry tortillas instead of handmade is an absolute crime. The asada steak was dry and unseasoned. Also one of the employees was eating at the front, lucking her fingers and bagging peoples food. There are a ton of Mexican food places and I'll never go back here again. I gave a tip and shouldn't have. The beans and rice were good. The sauces are awful.

Yelp
This restaurant is clean and is counter-service style. The tacos are small/street taco style and pretty reasonably priced at $2.50 for meat tacos and $2.99 for shrimp tacos. I got Al pastor, shrimp , and carnitas. My favorite was the shrimp tacos because it had the best flavor. The meat ones surprisingly lacked flavor even though they looked very flavorful. I also got a horchata which was tasty. Staff was friendly as well. I would come again for the shrimp tacos.

Yelp
This is one of the best taco places in Beaumont!! Every first Thursday they have 1 dollar street tacos!

Yelp
I heard from a fellow Yelper about this place and I was in town running errands so I dropped in and ordered 6 Barbacoa Tacos to go. The people were very friendly and helpful. It's not much to look at on the outside although it's painted brightly so you won't miss it!! The inside is very plain, but the food make up for it! The Barbacoa Tacos we're really good and my wife and I loved them!

Yelp
Vibe just wasn't right here wanted to sit and eat but decide to take out. Food kinda dry and no flavor. Service was fast and food came out quickly .

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Excellent food including authentic sauces, friendly service, fast and super clean place. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
I had the chicken flautas with beans and rice. They were very good. Love the rice being simple without the veggies. Hubby had the menudo - he said it is one of the best he has had in a long time. It had small cut up tripe and fall off the bone pigs feet. Highly recommended this place

Yelp
Stopped by La Bamba restaurant as it glowed with beautiful colors catching anyone's attention that drove by. Once inside it had the same welcoming, colorful atmosphere. You order and may at the front then sit wherever you want to wait your order. I ordered four tacos, two barbacoa and two pastor. Service was in good timing. Tacos were mini tacos style with the smaller tortilla. The tortillas had a crisp to them that made them crunchy once biten into. Outstanding flavor from both tacos and great consistency of texture as well. I ate the tacos so fast I completely forgot to take a picture of my plate. A must try for all taco lovers !

Yelp
This is my go to place when I am craving tacos and burritos. No Tex-Mex here, just pure d goodness! Definitely a must try for authentic Mexican cuisine!

Tami L.

Yelp
Great find on our way home from NOLA! Super clean, great service, and we had four varieties of tacos all were excellent! Apparently they have a lot of "specials" today was buy one get one and this even included Barbacoa! Highly recommend! Prices were super reasonable without specials. Fresh and delicious! We will be back when we pass through again!

Cody S.

Yelp
Awesome tacos. Some of the best I've ever had. Great service also. I'll be back again.

Yelp
OMG!! Sooooooo Delicious!!! The corn tortilla street tacos were soo fresh and delicious and hot! Holy moly what a treat. We are just passing through to get to Louisiana and I'm so glad we stopped by such a gem. The service is also superb!
google avatar

Monica M.

Yelp
Don't be deceived by the exterior that has bars on the windows and glass door. It is so worth going in and trying the food. I had the spicy pork street tacos on corn tortillas and they were so amazing. Freshly made and flavorful. We also ordered the steak quesadilla. Again very flavorful. We don't have a decent Mexican food place in my home town and I'm so glad I read the reviews and decided to try this place on my way through town. I haven't had this quality of authentic Mexican food in three years and now I got my fix!

Yelp
LOVE this dive! Taco Tuesday...$20 for 20 tacos. I had the spicy pork and beef fajita tacos...delisioso'! Friends got the chicken burritos...HUGE and yummy. More pork and beef tacos and pork tostado. We loved it all. SeRve as a CHECK CASHING PLACE too..."envivos de dinero" BUY LOCAL SUPPORT LOCAL

Yelp
Loved the pastor! I can eat it everyday. The asada not so much. But the service was fast & they were very kind!

Yelp
Had the al pastor tacos. They were delicious. The staff was very friendly. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Took a trip from Austin to New Orleans and wanted something other than fast food and came across this little gem! Super authentic, lots of seating and the food was delicious! They didn't have a full menu due to a power outage a few days before but everything we ordered was perfect! Got some tacos, burrito and the elotes! Highly recommended stopping here if you are passing through or live in Beaumont!

Yelp
Cute place to get a great taco in Beaumont! They were super fast with our order and the price point is GREAT! It is a perfect spot to take good pictures too. They have a few murals that photograph well!

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here on my way home to Houston, TX from Lake Charles, LA so today was the day! First off, they ran out of queso fresco. Every true Mexican knows that queso fresco makes every Mexican dish that much better. I ordered the aguachiles and put in my order. Ten minutes later they tell me they've run out. So I order the platillo de carne asada. My husband, the saltillo plate which he was upset already at the fact that there was no queso fresco. He attempted to order a quesadilla and asked what cheese was inside, they said yellow cheese and Colby jack. The girl behind the counter assuring him that this was normal for quesadillas. WRONG. Lastly, my mom ordered menudo and super tacos de barbacoa. So, we returned the enchiladas as they literally had nothing inside. My carne asada plate was cold: rice, beans, meat. The only okay things were the tacos and menudo, although that was cold. Drinks from the fridge were hot. All in all, we will not be back. 2 stars for the menudo and tacos.

Yelp
My favorite Taco shop in Beaumont. Little hole in the wall, family run and amazing food. Just moved here from North Carolina and it's my favorite restaurant so far!!

Stephanie R.

Yelp
THEIR FOOD IS AMAZINGGGGGG!!!!! the street tacos are life. probably some of the most authentic mexican food you can get around this town!

Jon S.

Yelp
Went there but they wouldn't seat us, only take-out. Kinda strange since there were a few tables of people eating. Oh well. I'll just try someplace else

Yelp
We were really excited to try this place. Authentic Mexican food is where it's at! The Chicken, Beef and Shrimp Tacos were delicious! I mostly enjoyed the Chicken and Beef. The shrimp taco was average. The huge plate dish with the beef and beans was great too! All ingredients combined together in one bite tastes amazing. However, one of my bites from the dish was very chewy from the meat. I was unable to swallow the meat after that :/ but the rest of the bites was to die for :) The elote cup was actually given to me for free! All I had to do was take a picture of the place and upload it to my Instagram story and then I tagged this restaurant. I showed the cashier and she gave me free elote! I was super excited and grateful about that and the elote was delicious but hot! We also got the horchata drink and we found a bit tad sweet. The restaurant was actually super cold which was the only down side but they had movies playing like Black Adam! That was fun to watch while eating our food! :) We would still 100% come back here for the tacos! Yummy! Loved the beans too!

Yelp
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE OVER AND OVER 10/10! The tacos, burritos, quesadillas everything is so good! Never dried out, always flavorful. Never had a bad experience, at first I was a little skeptical because the exterior seemed ran down but this is by far the best hole in the wall I ever been to. Sad because I moved to San Antonio last year and nothing out here compares to this place. I miss it!!

Yelp
Tacos La Bamba is one of those places where I have not tried everything on their menu, but I would feel confident in declaring that anything you choose to order, you will not be disappointed by. Their tacos are mind-blowingly delicious and small, so keep that in mind when deciding how many to order. Yesterday for lunch after a work out I had three and, although I could have eaten a dozen more, it was more than enough to keep me going until dinner time. Their daily specials are more than worth doing in for for lunch, and their Horchata is amazing! I was get a Large cup to bring home to make white Russians with! First Thursdays of every month you can ball on a budget and enjoy $1 tacos! And on Sundays they offer a 20 tacos for $20 special that cannot be beat! Tl;dr totally worth trying!!
google avatar

Yelp
Taco's La Bamba isn't much to look at from the outside as I drove by twice before deciding " what the hell". It's in the old part of town so it's kind of run down. Once I went inside the decor was decent and the people were extremely friendly. I was the only gringo around but I liked this as it made me think it was more authentic. I ordered 3 tacos and a chicken quesidilia to go as I had a ton of work to do. The 3 tacos were asada, pastor and barbacoa. All of their tacos come on soft corn tortillas(I prefer flour) and have onions and cilantro on top. The asada and barbacoa were solid but forgettable. The pastor however was really good. I wish I would have just ordered a bunch of those. The chicken quesadilia was flavorless like boiled chicken and cheese. The tacos are really small but for 3 tacos and a chicken quesadilia was a little over 10 bucks. I'd go back but just for the pastor tacos next time.

Susan G.

Yelp
Yummy tacos! We would return for tacos! I had the rice and beans and chips and salsa! All were well seasoned and a nice sized portion. My husband had the tacos and enjoyed them.
google avatar

Austin N.

Yelp
Average food, portions are nothing to write home about. Would eat there again if I was in a hurry but definitely would not go out of my way.

Yelp
Went in on a Sunday my asada taco was bad First when I bit into it part of my meat was cold and it tasted refrigerated, I didn't say anything I waited for my husband to try his and and he spit it out he said this meat is bad. I would not come here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Passed by this place and saw the BBQ lighting up. They were having a fund raiser. The side of the building advertised tacos. I ordered the barbacoa, asada and chicken taco with everything on it. WOW what a treat. Pretty good tacos. We also ordered the Mexican corn. True delight. My 11 yr old son ate the chicken quesadilla. He is usually very talkative as teens are. However I didn't hear one peep out of him till he was done. Good food and very fulfilling. I would definitely recommend this place to all my family and friends
google avatar

Yelp
We love this place... The first Thursday of each month is Taco Thursday- $1 tacos, plus entertainment! A must!!
google avatar

Yelp
We had the pork tacos, spicy pork quesadilla, and spicy pork burrito. It was all delicious, filling, and quality ingredients. The service was fast, friendly, and cute. We enjoyed seeing the culturally inspired artwork.

Alejandro V.

Yelp
Good Mexican food. Burrito de Birria was soo good. Coworker got a shrimp cocktail and it was good. 6 people ordered in our group and no one said anything bad. All like their food.
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
I really don't understand how can you decide to go for a Mexican food business with out doing you're homework first on food and service. How you got 75 reviews-Stars on Yelp I don't know. Please take my review and get better, get recipes from a good Mexican chef from the internet and try many times until you're get the best. I love Mexican food is just hard to find good places... My fish was just cook, no special flavor nothing! Tortillas taste like those Sweet supermarket Goya or mission. Nasty! Is un insult to Mexican Traditions. At least bring the food to the table, respect you're customer on that!

Janna F.

Yelp
Best ceviche in Southeast Texas, hands down. It's fish ceviche: not overmarinated, but not too raw. Also, it's not made with pre-cooked shrimp. Everything La Bamba does is fresh and great. Try the fried whole fish. I don't eat fried food, and *I* like it!

Caleb C.

Yelp
The food is fantastic, great prices too. Consistency can be a little off. Every once in a while the food is worse than other times but never bad. 95% of the time it's awesome and their sauces are great too.

Joshua S.

Yelp
The following statement is written by a true Mexican: This place was great, the tacos were as authentic as it gets, it truly made me feel like I was eating street tacos back at my home town of Aguascalientes, Mexico. I'm an EMT and they really appreciate first responders, the staff was very polite and friendly. Needless to say I will be coming back!

Yelp
Pull up and you're greeted with a vibrant array of lettering and colors as part of Taco's La Bamba's decor. Once inside, you wonder, "Is this a Video Hut or a restaurant?" Taco's La Bamba is both. Although, they are technically not a "Video Hut" chain - they have a nice selection of videos and DVDs you can rent. But my five stars are based on the food and restaurant aspect of the locale. Being a recent, new inhabitant of Beaumont, Texas and being of Hispanic descent (Mexican-American to be exact) I have realized that the local, traditional, true Mexican spots I am accustomed to have near me are close to nonexistent in this area... Well at least as far as my eye can see. I do not consider others in town to be true Mexican food but more so, Tex-Mex. Now don't get me wrong, I like me some Tex-Mex but every once in a while I do enjoy eating authentic Mexican food. So for me, Taco's La Bamba, is truly a gem in Beaumont. It made me feel like I was at my aunt's house eating a torta. Not only do they have several different types of meat styles like fajitas, carnitas, barbacoa, and/or carne asada that taste delicious but you are surrounded with a family style atmosphere and beautiful, vivacious art murals filled with Mexican history and culture!
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
This place was good. We had Carnitas tacos and a bowl of menudo. The only reason I'm giving this palace 3 stars because we asked if they still had Menudo and they said yes. The bowl we were served was literally had 10 pieces of tripe and hominy. The rest was juice. I was definitely still hungry and disappointed because the bowls cost about $8-9 each. The place was cool and they a michelada station. They looked so good. I really wanted one but i was driving.
google avatar

Nikki L.

Yelp
This place is the bomb!! The tacos are truly authentic. I ordered one carnitas and one asada. The atmosphere was fantastic, very quirky and unique. They have a really cool outdoor seating area, with a mural on the wall. This place would be great for photo ops and a great lunch!! I live in Houston but I'm already planning a trip in June to get the $1 tacos the first Thursday of the month. I am looking forward to it!!! They have a fantastic variety of drinks and food, not just tacos. The woman that took our order was very friendly, helpful, patient and so nice!! If you live in Beaumont or are just passing through, this place is a must!
google avatar

Sue S.

Yelp
Great food and great service. The menu is full of authentic Mexican food. I love the decor that is original to Mexico restaurants. The place gets packed and they even have small vendors just like in the Mexico markets. You have to check it out!!

Yelp
Looked good online. Pulled off I-10 on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Only 1 in parking lot. Lady at counter didn't seem to know a lot about the menu. She had to look at the tiny pictures on the menu to tell us what came on the plates. Didn't know the difference between their migas and chilaquilles. Cute and festive inside. She asked if I wanted flour or corn tortillas, but they are not homemade. Why??? I said flour - but they didn't even provide any tortillas when the food was ready. When I asked about it, she said that my plate doesn't come with tortillas. Plate game out with cheese on beans, not on the eggs as I asked. No avocado as she said it would have. When I asked about that, they gave me the tiniest little thing with avocado. I asked for some potatoes or fried potatoes with my plate. They gave me french fries. Food came on Mexican pottery type plate. But it was chipped and food was on top where there was g any glaze left. There was loud banging coming from the kitchen that was annoying. They said they were chopping up meat. They didn't have coffee at 10am on a Saturday. Coffee maker broke.... Really? Why not run down to Wal Mart and get one. It was very cold inside on top of all the other issues. I really regret giving this place a chance - based on the pics on Yelp. Ugh

Yelp
I've been coming here for a while and the tacos stay being delicious I always get Tacos Al Pastor and de Carnitas and they great. Highly recommend!

Yelp
If you want cheap crappy Mexican food, this is your place. Indifferent staff, dirt cheap food, no beer, and very little personality.
