The Best Breakfast Tacos and Burritos in Dallas | Eater Dallas

"This no-frills operation is geared towards the morning rush. Overstuffed tacos arrive quickly on styrofoam plates with impressively hot salsas at the table. The chorizo and egg are griddled together to create a satisfying chew with a hint of saffron. The bacon and egg sounds simple, but the sum is greater than the parts. Pair the tacos with a cold horchata and it tastes like being in Mexico City." - Henry James Ferry

Though it’s far from the only one, this little taco stop boasts some of the neighborhood’s best tacos for takeout, along with along with tortas, gorditas, gringas, sopes and quesadillas filled with chicken, cabeza, suadero, lengua, and more. Get through all those tough choices, there’s one more choice left: red salsa or green?" - Rachel Pinn

Located inside the gas station. Food was good and out without delay. Bistec and crunchy tripa were my favorites. Make sure to ask for the salsas.

I love coming here for tacos! The service is always great and the food is always so so good! I haven’t had anything here that I didn’t like!

Google
OMG best street tacos I've EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. The service was awesome the ladies have angelic faces with great smiles great customer service. I had steak tacos and pastor tacos and sampled the cow head meat which wasn't bad. You want tacos go here. And really awesome cheap prices .

Google
Absolutely the best tacos in town. Get the chicken tacos with cilantro and onion add mozzarella cheese and the red sauce and lime. Woooo! They’re the best I’ve ever had.

Google
Been my favorite street taco spot for 4 years now. I’ve visited almost every famous taco place in dfw and personally nothing compares.

Joan Walker

Google
I will NEVER eat here again. What is the purpose of charging $2 a taco for these extra small tacos. I am completely disappointed. They are a rip off!

Wesley Au

Google
Some of the best tacos I’ve had, the meat quality is fantastic. The tongue and tripe are my favorite.

Osvaldo Valle

Google
After a year living on DFW area this is the best tacos, but if you are in hurry do not stop they took 30 minutes to get my 4 tacos

Yelp
The tacos were very good, I'd rate them 3/10 i wanted the chicken to have more flavor but the steak was great! The corn tortillas were very greasy and it turned me off,but i ate it anyway to have the full experience. It took about a lap around the gas station store to look at a few snack and drinks and by the time i did that the tacos were ready. You won't be waiting long for them. There's a few seats to sit and enjoy for the most part everyone seemed to just order and leave. After all it is a gas station but doesn't take away the food aspect they're cheap and worth it if you want a quick fix for street tacos.

Yelp
Tacos La Banqueta is a good selection for your local gas station tacos. Plenty of parking at the gas station with 4-5 tables inside. They have a variety of options available with different meats to choose from. My go-to is usually the pastor and bistec tacos on corn tortilla. I've also tried the tripe taco on corn and the texture of the tripe was crispy and nice. I would skip out on the horchata. It wasn't as flavorful as I'd like it to be. The cashier doesn't speak English as well but once you start spitting out some of the menu, they'll catch your drift :) They do take card! Also if you want sauce, you'll need to ask since they do not include this in your order. It's $.25 per sauce cup.

Yelp
It's your classic gas station taco spot! Small, lots of bright colors, clean, and smells good. They have a limited but affordable menu with all of the taqueria-goodies you need: tacos, burritos, tortas, etc. I've gotta say I think their street tacos are delicious, two corn tortillas stuffed full with your protein of choice. Even one taco is pretty filling. I've only had the pollo and barbacoa, both were great and seasoned well. Oh and the refried beans are pretty good too!

Yelp
Nice little neighborhood grill. Tacos and tortas are good. Staff is polite. It's in a gas station that could be nicer but you don't go to these places to be met with an upscale setting. Gas station taco places are all about how fast they can get your food out and how tasty the tacos are. This place is a good local staple. It can get quite busy on weekends and evenings. Prices have gone up over the years but that's because of inflation. Would like to see a taco Tuesday discount or something. If you're looking for good street tacos, this is a good place.

Yelp
I ordered 4 tacos with cow head meat. It was amazing, and the sauces added a nice kick. There weren't many workers, I only saw 2 I had to wait a little for someone to come to the counter. There isn't much seating and the only open one was one next to the window. The sun was constantly beaming on to my face. It was annoying.

Yelp
This is your basic gas station taco restaurant, but the service is superb. First of all, all the tacos you get are made with more meat than any other place you are used to, every taco is very filling, not very greasy double corn tortilla, with plenty of meat, so much meat, it's hard to close each taco. On the same token, if you normally eat 4 or 5 tacos, you will be full with 3 or 4. How the meats are seasoned is probably what is going to separate this restaurant from others. I had lengua cooked 3 or 4 different ways, tripita 3 different ways, Al Pastor, multiple ways, so you have to come and try to see what you do like. They have a regular red hot salsa, and a creamy lighter salsa made with habanero and jalapeño, but it's not as spicy as the first red salsa. Overall, a winner.

Yelp
I wanted to try this place as I was crazing some breakfast tacos. The first oops was totally my fault as I stopped by before they opened - not sure why no breakfast at 8:40 but their business their rules. I said okay I have to run out again in a few so I will stop back later. 2nd visit- I go up to the counter and immediately feel like I'm a nusiance by interrupting their conversation to try to place an order. The lady at the grill is eating it would not be a big deal if she were not eating with her fingers and putting them in her mouth. I asked if they have any tacos and I am told they stop at 11. It was not 11 yet but after seeing the lady lick her fingers I just said "God is protecting me from food poisoning" and walked out.

Yelp
Food is flavorful. Service is quick and consistent. Order always correct. Made to order.

Yelp
Breakfast stop at 11 am everyday. So I got me a Torta with fajita. Got one and let me tell ya. This spot is a hidden gem. Located inside the OK gas station. Nice people and very good food. Service pretty quick. I was told to call In first on Saturdays. Closed on Sunday. Green sauce is very well made and tastes great. The red sauce is very smooth and delicious. Enjoy. Oh and this Torta cost about $9.74 worth it. Great value

Yelp
I'm giving this place four stars because my wife likes it, but I really want to give it three... The food is always good, but the service sucks in my opinion. The staff is often rude, and I just don't like the fact that they seem to cater to those in which English is not their primary language. If you look at their delivery page, it's in Spanish. Why should I have to look up a translator to order food? It's in a gas station, and always busy but clean.

Sharone J.

Yelp
Best hole in the walls taco spot in Arlington! I come at least 3 times a week and get the steak tacos on flour or the Pastor Torta
google avatar

Yelp
No frills, top notch tacos. That is what you'll find here. Oh an maybe some watery eyes and nose after you have the red sauce. ;) Searching for a snack about 9:30 pm can be challenging, so I'm so glad Tacos La Banqueta stays open until 11 pm. Once inside the gas station you'll smell the cilantro aroma with all the tasty meats. Everything is made to order and still very fast! I ordered 2 bistec, 2 chorizo and 2 pastor flour tacos. I got both red and green sauce and 3 lime slices. Warning: the sauces are not for anyone who is sensitive to spice! I foolishly covered my taco with the red sauce thinking it would be mild. Dude. It was like a level 5 spice at a Thai restaurant. My eyes leaked and so did my nose. After I gulped some milk and swallowed my pride, I lightly applied the green sauce to my other tacos. It was still spicy, but enjoyable and I could still taste, which is something I like to do- ha! So, if you're not used to heavy spice, stick to the green sauce or just lime juice. I'm not even that much of a wimp when it comes to spice, but tonight I learned a lesson. I am based on their standards. Lesson learned. My favorite tacos ranked on taste without the sauce would hands down be the chorizo tacos. These were the bomb.com. Second place would be pastor then bistec. Amazing tacos that you won't find any better in a restaurant in the unassuming location inside a gas station.

Yelp
Ive been going here for about 2 years now and there was a time where I was going multiple times a week. The pastor taco specifically is incredible. When we first started going we'd get a number of tacos including chicken and steak. It took us a while to realize that it was the pastor that keeps people coming back. Chicken and steak were decent but now I order like 10 pastor tacos every time I go and eat at least 5 by myself with the green sauce. It's spicy!! The service is good, they are sweet and don't take too long. I typically don't mind the wait because I'm so excited about the tacos. Also worth mentioning that the tacos are CONSISTENTLY good. If you're in the area it's an absolute must try, but keep in mind it's in a gas station and the gas station itself has a lot of flies. I get my tacos and go.

Yelp
The new location (Mansfield, behind HEB) is fantastic. I have lived in Mexico and I know Mexican Food. The tacos are good, but the Gorditas de Suadero (or carnitas) are absolutely delicious. Everybody that I have brought to this location loves the food, especially the gorditas (which are not as well known here in the USA). The agua de Jamaica is fantastic too. We now come often and the only thing missing is Mexican desserts. If only they made sopapillas or buñuelos!

Yelp
I don't think this place has working AC which made the visit rough. The tacos themselves are okay, there was no show stopper. I had one of each of their meats and the chicken & steak was dry. I also was not a fan of their corn tortillas.

Angelina C.

Yelp
These are your generic street tacos that you can get a from random food truck. It's lacking in flavor for this being a taquerria. I think a lot of people find it "good" because they have a lot of non-hispanic customers who are trying street tacos for the first time or have hardly had them.

Dexter J.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late lunch, solely based on rumors that place has the best pastor tacos in town. I'm not a big fan of gas station tacos, but I had to see if the hype is true. The restaurant side was very clean. The Exxon convenience store side could definitely use a good cleaning. I was surprised at the steady flow of customers coming on just for food. I ordered 4 pastor tacos. Although 4 was plenty, I could have eaten 6. Yes, they were that good! Service was fast and friendly, and my order came out swiftly. I barely had time to get a drink from the Exxon side. Tacos were served with two kinds of salsa. Both salsas were excellent and added a little heat. The pastor tacos are definitely worth stopping for. I recommend getting an extra taco, you will wish you had. I'm already trying to figure out how add this La Banque SE to my daily breakfest routine. Not sure if the Mansfield location has the same owners, but the Mansfield store needs to take some recipe lessons, especially with the salsas.

Chris M.

Yelp
Food is great. Service is fine. But the wait is ridiculous for an order. The cook can't do more than one thing at a time. For example if 3 orders of 3 steak tacos came through at once. The cook would make 3 tacos. Then package it. And sell it. Instead of making all 9 at once. Fast food it isn't. Actually even a bit slower than a sit down Mexican restaurant in food prep time. It's a simple training issue that could be addressed in 30 minutes. That aside. The food is great and worth the wait. But again. There is no valid reason for this wait. But please visit the place. It's good

Yelp
THE BEST taco joint in the area!! I tried the tripe, pork, chorizo and bistek flour tacos which were all good and flavorful. If you haven't tried the tripe before, then it's a MUST TRY!! The sauces are delicious too. Both have a kick to it but the green one is less spicy. Definitely get a separate order of their grilled onions! I also tried their bistek torta which was good, but not the best I've had. I wish they had some more veggies on the side. I love that they open late. The area is a bit creepy to me... maybe because they have a huge sign saying "We have the right to refuse service" or something like that. It's actually located inside a gas station and you can see their menu through the window.

Danielle B.

Yelp
Food is good but they DO NOT CLOSE AT 11 ! 3rd time coming after 10 and they are closed . Very inconsiderate, they need to change their hours online !

Alex C.

Yelp
I've been coming here for about 2 years that I've been at tcc. Ladies are always nice and welcoming. Prices are cheap. It's in a gas station which can off set some people, however we all know those are the best places to get tacos at. Inside is clean and food comes out fresh and hot. Thank you workers of tacos la Banqueta !!

Laura S.

Yelp
tried to give this place another chance food and service were terrible today. The lady in the kitchen cooking was very rude to us. I asked her to please make my tacos, fresh and hot, and she argued with me and of course gave me tacos that were cold and made them the wrong way with corn tortillas instead of flour so she remade them also cold again never cooking anything. This place used to be good but they don't care about customer service or the qua of food coming out of there anymore. I did speak with the manager of the store to talk with them since I've known him since my son went to the college across the street very disappointed.

Yelp
The tacos from Tacos La Banqueta are THE best!! I've been coming here since my first visit to the DFW area. They never disappoint. It's one of the first spots we go to for dinner or for take-out whenever we come to the area, it's definitely one of our favorites. The tacos are all relatively cheap and filling and are made very quickly almost every time. That's despite the fact that it's popularity usually has a line going out the door on normal days for eating in and for take-out! The salsas for these tacos also hit the spot - the hot one burns your mouth but is just the right amount of heat (for me) to still be very tasty and satisfying. Love the feeling of a bit of heat with my tacos. The tacos taste even better if you get them with the cheese, which is a bit extra, but they add it deliciously. It just oozes and melts all over the meat in the taco and creates an incredibly appetizing contrast to the texture of the meat. Definitely some of the best tacos I have ever experienced! I definitely recommend giving these tacos a try. This place is popular, authentic, quick, efficient, relatively cheap, and of course, delicious. Oh yeah, and the horchata is also AMAZING! Give it a visit or order some take-out!

Yelp
Best Mexican dish I've ever had, it was so flavorful. I was honestly hurt to see that I ate it and didn't have anymore. I will definitely be back.

Stephan S.

Yelp
paid for 15 tacos and extra sauce they didn't even put one sauce in my bag didn't check till I got home
google avatar

Gibran E.

Yelp
They don't answer the phone. The line always has a busy tone forcing you to place the order in person and have to wait forever. If the wait wasn't so bad then maybe they would get more stars

Brittany N.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican food, like the tacos love the quesadilla. Always stop here when getting my car fixed down the road

Gabriel H.

Yelp
Best tacos around Really good flavor and fresh food I eat tacos at least once a week
google avatar

Yelp
I've eaten in countless taquerias over the past several years (when was in University of Houston, hit up around 100 something just there, plus many others) and this place was good. I tried 5 tacos.. All with corn tortillas, cilantro, and onions. The only one I wasn't a fan of was the chicken tacos since not much flavor. The pastor, steak, other beef one (forgot what it's called), and the chorizo ones were all really good, though. I read the green salsa was too spicy, but it was spicy enough to make my nose run a little, and not much else..I have high tolerance for spicy food, so if sensitive to spicy food, I'd recommend avoiding it. The red salsa I wasn't overly fond of, though. The tacos are smaller than many places, so if you normally get 4, should get 5, and so forth. But 5 tacos cost me just under $10 which is an excellent price for street tacos (usually 4 of them cost $10 and some change, in most places been to around here)

Raquel R.

Yelp
The taco were good but just wasn't what I was hoping for. My carnitas were very chunky and dry and my husband lengua was rubbery
google avatar

Amber P.

Yelp
Omg these tacos are delicious! Do not pass by this place without stopping in to grab some tacos. the al pastor and bistec are my favorite and their salsas are hot and very hot, had me sweating but I was in heaven.
google avatar

Michelle P.

Yelp
Although it is a smaller menu than most Tacos La Banqueta's, it is a smaller location. Located inside the Exxon(?) gas station, this place is definitely a gem to Southern Arlington. It is directly across the street from TCC so I imagine business will pick up very soon as the school year comes around again. This is my third time coming here and the two ladies that work behind the counter are super sweet. One does the prep and cash, the other grills. I've never had a problem with their service and they always snag me some extra sauces when I ask. The food here is cooked right before your ears! I say that because you can hear her make your food, but not watch her. I always get the pastor and steak meat. Always kept me satisfied and never wanting less. Horchata is also fresh, and she also asks if you want ice which is a plus! You will definitely see me become a regular now that I have a Banqueta close to home. No need to drive by UTA in the summer WOOOOO
google avatar

Nhi H.

Yelp
Hands down the best tacos EVER. They have a bigger location with bigger menu but this one is closer to my house and hits the spot. It's located inside a gas station so they only have 4 tables but I always can find a spot. I always get the bistec, pastor, cabeza and suadero tacos and they're all soooooo juicy and savory. Highly recommend!!

Jessica M.

Yelp
Very good tacos. My favorite is the steak taco on corn tortilla. The chicken and pork are really good too. They come with a lot of onion, cilantro, and lime wedges.
google avatar

Dayna J.

Yelp
This place has the most flavorful carne asada I have tasted in the metroplex. If I lived closer I know I would be here at least 3 times a week. Being from LA I've never eaten at a gas station prior to arriving to Dallas. Do Not let the location fool you. These tacos are muy delicioso! Plus, if you like a hot salsa they have a habanero sauce that puts this taco over the top. All you need to was it down is some cold horchata! Go THERE NOW!
google avatar

Erica A.

Yelp
Don't let the fact this place is inside a gas station deter you from stopping in. They have some great tacos. I tried the lengua and steak, both cooked perfectly and delicious! The cilantro and onions were fresh and I really liked the green salsa. They also have agua fresca! There are only three tables inside so space is limited. I would recommend grabbing it to go.
google avatar

Noelle W.

Yelp
This is the best hole in the wall place that you will receive authentic street tacos in Texas by far.
google avatar

Maria L.

Yelp
This was such a good place I came across with some friends to get a quick bite to eat! Not that many good tacos places in Arlington but I really enjoyed my torta (de pastor) and tacos (steak and chicken!). There isn't much room to sit in and enjoy your food but it is a joint within a gas station so it's understandable. Anyway, the torta bread they use was so good! Grilled yet soft and the meat I choose, al pastor, was well cooked. Also, the tortillas used for the tacos were not too greasy! As for the service, it was good, everything came out good and fast (:
google avatar

Nancy M.

Yelp
One of our favorite tacos spots hands down! When first move to this area from Dallas we were afraid we were going to have to drive for tacos but Thankfully we found Tacos Las Banqueta so freaking good! We eat here at least once a week. 10 out of 10 recommend!!!!
google avatar

Celina B.

Yelp
Not a lot of places makes tripas and this one does omgggggg it's so good. Get it extra crispy! Extra grilled onions! Their sauce it bomb! The spiciness hits the spot! While I'm waiting for my tacos I'm buying lottos and scratching them off while I wait lol
google avatar

Chinelo O.

Yelp
My regular taco place was closed so I decided to try here. This is located inside a gas station. The employees were very nice but barely speak any English. To me, that's a good sign that the tacos were gonna be authentic, and that they were! Was not disappointed at all. Prices are very reasonable as well.
google avatar

Angeline C.

Yelp
Best tacos in the area! Do yourself a favor and grab some pastor and suadero! Make sure to try their salsas!
google avatar

Tony S.

Yelp
Really great tacos! This is inside of the gas station, so there is limited seating. You have to purchase your drink from the gas station and your food from the people working the food station. But, once you go through all of that, the food is well worth it! Great place to stop for a quick bite.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
I've now been to all 3 locations. All 3 are awesome places to eat. This one is in a gas station so parking is limited as is the seating. The food is as expected.......very good. The ladies behind the counter are super friendly and helpful. If you are in the area, dont be afraid to try their food.
google avatar

Heather C.

Yelp
The tacos here were delicious and affordable! I got the suadero tacos and I would definitely get them again. The steak tacos were ok. The person I was with got the chorizo tacos and the pork and he really enjoyed them. This will probably be added into our regular rotation of restaurants.
google avatar

Anthony K.

Yelp
The best taco place I've been to here in Arlington! The place is in a gas station but the foods is amazing and my delicioso. I definitely recommend this place for any taco lover. Let's just say it HITS!!!
google avatar

Alan T.

Yelp
So good! It's in a gas station, so you know it's authentic! I bought the taco with bistec meat. It's super tasty. The hot sauce is really good! If you want to go for tasty tacos that are good on price, come here. The quality is great as well, yummy! I'll go again for sure!
google avatar

Carmen N.

Yelp
$1.50 for a taco on a corn tortilla... and they have steak! You can't beat that! Their verde (green sauce) is actually spicy! Sooo good and so cheap! I didn't know they serve breakfast. I will deff be back!! They are connected to the gas station so you can just walk across to buy water because they don't serve any.
