Where to Find the Best Takeout in Lakewood - Eater Dallas

"Lakewood’s truest taqueria can be found on Gaston at Tacos La Banqueta. Though it’s far from the only one, this little taco stop boasts some of the neighborhood’s best tacos for takeout, along with along with tortas, gorditas, gringas, sopes and quesadillas filled with chicken, cabeza, suadero, lengua, and more. Get through all those tough choices, there’s one more choice left: red salsa or green?" - Rachel Pinn

It was pretty good, i thought maybe it would have been maybe better but hey I can't complain to much. The tacos are really priced well. It's 2 dollars I think per taco and they have a fair amount of protein. I recommend the red sauce it's really good. The better tacos are chorizo and cabeza. Bistec was a 2 out of 5 and al pastor was a 2 out of 5 and chicken a 3 out of 5.

I’ve been coming here for 3 years for their breakfast tacos because I love it with the green salsa. However, lately I have been getting uncontrollable bowel movements. Food poisoning. It has to do with the way they are handling the food. I really love their breakfast tacos only not a fan of their regular tacos as I do find them to be dry and bland but I don’t think it’s worth coming anymore.

First time visiting this place, and I’d definitely come back! The flavor and quality of the meat were solid, and the sauces tasted fresh with a nice bit of spice. The only thing I didn’t love were the tortillas—I tried both corn and flour, but neither impressed me. They seemed like low-quality, store-bought tortillas. If they made them in-house or sourced them from a local tortilleria, the tacos would easily be a strong 8/10.

Great taco spot. Love the salsa. Both red and green are great. This place gets packed during the work week. That should tell you something. $2 tacos is their staple. The taco pastor 🙌

My first taste of a taco was in Southern California when I was in high school. Yup, Taco Bell. I’ve come a long way from those immature taste buds and discovered real Mexican tacos, north of Austin. This incredible spot, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it-while-you’re-speeding-west-on-Gaston, serves the real thing! Beef fajita tacos and the chicken fajita ones with the cilantro and fresh diced onions, in or on, are perfect. Count on 3-5 per person. The place for good food, great service, and an inexpensive meal to bring home. Pass me a cold one.

Overall the tacos were ok, I ordered the lengua tacos and I felt that they were overcooked. The green salsa was really good . My suggestion is, don't cut the limes into very small pieces they dry up to quickly and we don't much out of them. Lastly I think they are overpriced for how small these tacos are.

If I could give this place a zero I would ! First and foremost you enter and there’s no waiting area , you stand and wait. Overall the food has a good taste but the presentation was not it and the food was definitely not worth the money that was paid for ! We asked for tacos with EVERYTHING on it and got plain tacos with no toppings, which is onion and cilantro , so we were given dry tacos and the tortas weren’t even filled up, it was legit just a spoonful of the food inside of it! Crazy thing is we waited quite some time for them not to get our order presentable and with EVERYTHING. Definitely will not be coming back ! Too pricey, I could literally make this at home and it would come out much better ! 0/5⭐️
