Great food, clean, laid back atmosphere, great service. A hidden gem. Best salsa I've had in a long time.

Google
The birria combo is to die for it’s so good the perfect flavor . The menudo is very good just the small size is one dollar difference I believe according to the menu but it’s very small like a small kid plate so I suggest get the grande big plate . The burritos are pretty big and were good we got two asada $15. U also grabbed the oysters who are pretty big . The michilada was not so good has a fish taste that wasn’t great . Three horchatas was good too. Overall my experience was great the food was great !! I spent 160$

This is a very casual mexican restaurant. It has some fun, traditional, and untraditional food. The The atmosphere is playful. Services excellent! His food was delightful!

Google
Small local restaurant, very casual, fairly low staffing and took a good 20-25 mins to the meal to come out. But very friendly servers and staff, very attentive. Multiple TV screens playing sports / music videos. The food here is amazing, from the looks outside the restaurant you wouldn't expect it to be this good. Highly recommend. I ordered the Enchiladas and also a Margarita which they did not hold back on the alcohol. I would give this 5 stars except for the fact that the men's bathroom had no lock! And the door did not stay on closed on the entry door or even the toilet stall door! Anyone can just walk in while you doing your business.

Google
I ordered the Birria Combo and it was DELICIOUS!! The staff was hilarious and so inviting, delightful and created quite a fun atmosphere. It really felt like a family environment, music, upbeat energy but family friendly. Would highly recommend and will make a point to visit again if we find ourselves in the area again!

The food is authentic and delicious. The servers are all always very attentive and helpful. I'm very picky when it comes to Mexican food, and I always recommend this restaurant.

Google
OMG, we LOVE TLC! They totally live up to their name—Tender Loving Care—when it comes to the food, drinks, and service. As a Mexican, I’m super picky about my food, but this place? CHEF’S KISS. From the quesabirrias to the carne asada, enchiladas, aguachile, and ceviche; everything tastes just like home. Every bite is authentic and made with love, and don’t even get me started on the drinks always fresh, with just the right kick to make you feel alive. We’d eat here every day if we could. You can always feel the love. TLC is truly a gem!!!

Yelp
Fan-freaking-tastic!! My husband has been raving about this place for a month and I finally got up to Reno and gave it a try. He is not wrong (he rarely is when it comes to good Mexican food). The tacos are superb, and I believe we have now tried every variety offered. Highly recommended.

Yelp
4/15/25 Wanted some tacos so came to my spot that I enjoy. $2.50 street tacos taco Tuesday and hand made tortillas . Yummy . Wasn't busy at all and the service was excellent. Our server wish I got his name was on top of it ready to answer any questions or get us what we needed. I got a bunch of tacos and a Michelada and wifey got the QuesaBirria. My tacos were packed and flavorful. Wifey said hers was ok said meat needed more flavor. We asked for some hot hot salsa and we got some red and green and the red wasn't that hot good flavor but needed more heat. Green was a good too. Ambiance is cool authentic Mexican restaurant and TVs around for sports to watch . One thing I did notice was the bathroom could use some attention . The stall door lock was broken and missing , some piece of metal just sitting in the stall that came off something and there was a rag and spray bottle by the toilet seemed like was cleaning and was left . That's my only thing that I noticed that I didn't like. Other than that was a decent night of food & drink. Enjoy !!!!

Yelp
I've been to this gem of a restaurant more times than I can count, and honestly, I feel a little guilty that I'm only just now leaving a review. But every time I'm here, I'm so focused on enjoying the incredible food that by the time I think about it, my plate is already spotless! The service is consistently outstanding. The owners are always upbeat, welcoming, and bring such a great energy to the space. The ambiance is colorful and vibrant. Full of authentic Mexican charm it's the kind of place that instantly lifts your mood. This is the spot for tacos de birria and quesabirria. I've tried others, but nothing compares to the rich, cheesy birria paired with that flavorful consommé. Absolute perfection. And if you're in the mood for a drink, do yourself a favor and order a Cadillac Margarita, it's the perfect complement to any dish. If you're craving quality Mexican food with great vibes and even better people, this place should be your go-to. It's definitely mine! TLC has been Taco-Jo'd!!!

Yelp
This place was recommended by a friend, so we gave this place a try. It was ok, nothing too special about this place. I ordered the quesabirria and it was alright. I also tried the horchata and it just tasted like it was just powdered horchata. Overall this place was okay. Idk if I'd be back but yeah it's okay in my opinion. Keep in mind they will not split your check. So bring cash or you might just need to Venmo each other.

Yelp
This is quickly becoming my favorite Mexican restaurant in Reno! The service here is always excellent. They always hit my taco cravings. They have a full bar with lots of interesting drinks I've never heard of. The space is clean and large, with lots of seating and TVs to keep you entertained. I need to come back and try their birria pizza. It looks really good

Yelp
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Plenty of parking. My crew gave thumbs up on the tacos.

Yelp
8/2/25 First time trying this restaurant, it was above amazing! Had a party of 10 the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Excellent customer service and care. Clean environment as well and great vibes music and tv's. Every single person in our party loved their food and said we would come back when in town. We ordered the asada nachos, asada fries, carne asada combo plate, quesabirria taco and street tacos with asada. Loved that the tortillas were handmade super fresh and soft. Everything was delicious and will be back! Forgot to take pictures thats how good it was.
google avatar

Yelp
I really enjoyed my street tacos here, I ordered two chicken and two carnitas tacos, and both were good. I did not know they made their own tortillas here too! They also gave us chips and salsa, though I'm not sure if it was unlimited, but they were both delicious. You can't go wrong with crunchy chips and spicy salsa! My fiancé had a lengua taco, and a quesabirria taco. He enjoyed them both, and his quesabirria taco was huge! It looked great. The service here was pretty relaxed, which I liked! Our server was friendly and checked on us a good amount of times, and she was close by if we needed anything, since the restaurant is on the smaller side. The restaurant has a bar too, and lots of decorations which I enjoyed! One critique would be the floors were kind of dirty, and the women's bathroom had an unpleasant smell. I would get tacos here again if I was in the area, but I would say I do enjoy Tacos El Rey more, and their street tacos are a little cheaper there, but I don't think they use home made tortillas like Tacos los Campesinos.

Yelp
Great Food and Service! The tacos are my go to, always the same taste. Looking for some good tacos in town, this is the place.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere. Food was delicious homemade salsa was .. overall a perfect place to go with your family and friends

Yelp
Food wasn't too expensive. It was also really tasty! I ordered 4 tacos and was filled up on 2. Their Al pastor was pretty great. I'd go back for tacos!
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best Mexican places in town. Very nice atmosphere and service. The margaritas were incredible. Highly recommend the chorizo which is made in house fresh.

Yelp
I'm always on the hunt for great tacos and tacos los campesinos does not disappoint. From the Carne asada tacos to the Chilaquiles and the Quesabirria tacos it is all so great and delicious. The tacos made with handmade tortillas and the perfectly seasoned as well as a delicious and tasty consomé to dip those tacos into it. The chilaquiles were a great taste as well not to spicy for those who don't like the hot sauce. Everyone is so friendly and polite a family owned business. Be sure to check them out when you have a chance.

Yelp
Wow!!!!!!! Friendly staff! And they seem to love working here !! Delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine, perfect!! I loved the Mexican/Spanish music..felt like home in San Diego near Tijuana! Best ever, I'm coming back ( First time here, what a gem!) with all my friends and family too!!! A new favorite!!!!

Yelp
Real Mexican food! Not Tex-Mex; not Maui-Mex; No scoop of sour cream and guacamole. This is the real south of the border deal. Spanish spoken here, so they sent out an English speaking gal to take our order. Every other table was served by a fast moving, charismatic waiter with a wonderful smile. Our food was fast, authentic, excellent, and filling. The service was good. The tortillas were obviously made by hand and had a great slightly smoky flavor. The restaurant was spacious and not "trying to look Mexican". I'll be back.

Yelp
Handmade tortillas! That's one of the many reasons why you should check this spot out. TACOS! Tacos! TACOS! We came for Valentine's Day and it was consistently busy during dinnertime. We were immediately greeted and seated. Service was overall speedy and they were very friendly. This is a hidden gem! We ordered tacos and were pleasantly surprised to see our tacos served on pink handmade tortillas. These tacos did not disappoint. The fresh tortilla was perfectly grilled. The meat was tender and full of flavor! The carne asada, al pastor, and Birria were all bomb! The Birria was juicy and on point! A perfectly made street taco! The rice was perfectly made too. Their menu seems pretty simple, but the options are nothing short of deliciousness. They have a Birria pizza that looked amazing, gonna have to try that next time! If you're a Michelada fan, be sure to try one! It was on point and paired perfectly with my tacos. I can't wait to get back for Taco Tuesday! I look forward to trying more of their menu....don't sleep on this family owned restaurant!!

Yelp
First off customer service was excellent I can't remember the waitresses name but she was sooo nice, gave great reccomendations and was very on top of making sure everyone that was interested in a specific game on their TVs was able to watch. The place is very spacious and they have a good amount of TVs which is nice. I tried their asada, chicken, and carnitas, I had chips and salsa and a glass bottle Coke. Everything was very good! The green salsa is amazing and the salsa that comes with the chips is also really good! I will definitely be back here soon. Oh yea their tortillas are made by hand there on site, they were so good

Yelp
Cruising back from an event downtown and the craving hit... TACOS! A quick brainstorm showed that Los Campesinos was on the way home and the promise of tender handmade tortillas, grilled and griddled to perfection and packed with all the best carnes around was just too much. So we hit it and got there in no time, while following the speed limit of course. I was in a snack mood, so chips and salsa plus a big beefy quesabirria with hot salsa was the ticket. Wifey was a little more hungry so she got Al pastor and quesabirria, and you know we had to get a Tamarindo Jarritos, which we shared because damn they're good but so sweet! We dined in and even though we weren't doing much the servers were extremely attentive and friendly with a pretty busy dining room for late on a weeknight. I'm reminded of just how great this family owned and operated restaurant is and why literally everyone in town should be checking it out. If this review motivated you to get in there, let me know!

Yelp
We were very pleasantly surprised by this place! I have been meaning to check it out as I had one of their IG posts saved. Took my mom here to celebrate Mother's Day on Sat to avoid big crowds. Service was great, everyone was very friendly and our waitress offered great menu recommendations. I'm a big lover of quesabirria tacos so of course I had to order that with rice and beans. We also got the fajitas de pollo, carne asada plate, carne asada torta and a taco de lengua. The quesabirria taco was huge and could've easily been 3-4 normal tacos with the size, amount of meat, cheese and fresh onions and cilantro inside. The birria was so tender and juicy and very flavorful. Probably the best one I've had in Reno yet! Everyone else said all their food was really delicious as well, tender and flavorful meat cooked to perfection and the portions were generous. We also got a mangorita, which was huge and a Paloma margarita. Both delicious! We will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
This place was recommended by a friend and we saw they had birria tacos online so we had to pay them a visit. Upon walking in they have a huge TV playing soccer and super colorful decor. We were seated immediately. There was a little confusion with the menu when we asked for the birria tacos, apparently they call them tacos de barbacoa which I thought was something completely different. I ended up ordering 3 birria tacos and my husband also had birria tacos with cheese & a side of beans and a side of rice and two Mexican cokes. The tacos were good but honestly I love when the tortilla is a lot crispier, so it holds better when dipped into the consome. They started falling apart in our hands, not the best but not the worst birria tacos. The beans and rice were ok. The bill came to a little over $48 dollars not including the tip. It was a pretty expensive lunch. The "barbacoa tacos" were 4.50 each, the two Mexican cokes are $4 (no fountain drinks) after receiving the bill, I was glad I did not get the the rice and beans for myself bc The side of rice and beans for one plate was $8 extra and each taco with cheese was $1 more, which I thought was a complete rip off. Overall pretty good but definitely be prepared for the bill bc the prices for the additions are not on the menu.

Yelp
This restaurant is legit - wow! Don't know how we missed it for so long. It's located off of Kietzke in a strip mall - very unassuming from the front. Then you open the door and BAM! There's a party going on inside! We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed but we were sat right away. Very friendly staff although service was a little slow (probably because it was so busy). I ordered the quesabirria and my husband got the birria combo which he thought was three birria tacos with rice and beans but was actually a plate of birria meat with tortillas on the side. It was all very good but a little more detail on the menu would be helpful. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Ever since my trip to northern New Mexico, I've been craving for good Mexican food. This place looked authentic and got great reviews so we went. And of course, it's Taco Tuesday! I had a ceviche tostada and a chicken taco. Taco is small, as it should be, and is AMAZING. Ceviche is also excellent, very spicy, great endorphin effects. Husband had one of his favorite dishes Camarones a la diabla, and everything looked very fresh, including the fluffy rice. The service was attentive and energetic! The restaurant was very well-attended and lively. It was very enjoyable, and we'll definitely be back, soon and often!

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful quesabirria, with the spice on the side of the broth to add as you like. Friendly, a fun scene, clearly a local favorite, just an all-around great find.
google avatar

Yelp
Our waiter Jae the "Hoff" Hoffman really made the experience enjoyable. He was up thayer with the most entertaining waiters in my dining experience. Which says alot. Often times these people are not either mentioned in team meetings to their managers, or promoted to the position they should have, due to the problem with people who are angry are more likely to leave a review than a happy customer. Well. Take it from a season veteran of the employment industrial wheel. Talent in general should always be recognized and passed along to management. Here's to you "Hoff" Stay Wild and Busy.
google avatar

Sara T.

Yelp
Their taco Tuesday is great! They serve 2 tacos for $2. My whole posse (7 people) we super pumped! They also have carne asada fries with the super fake but delicious cheese which we ordered 2 of! I didn't eat any of this stuff as I don't eat meat. I wished they had vegetarian tacos or anything veg besides cheese enchiladas. They were good but I was def looking for something else to eat besides cheese and tortillas. Recommend this place for sure for a Taco Tuesday group who eats meat! They didn't charge us 18% for our big party which we super appreciated and our servers were on top of it!

Yelp
I had a late lunch at Tacos Los Campesinos Reno. I ordered Sope de Carnitas, Taco de Asada and Guacamole & Chips. Every single thing was Top Quality! The chips and tortillas are homemade and the salsas were amazing!

Yelp
Stayed in town for a show and woke up wanting some menudo. Checked yelp and this was the recommmended place so we went. Some of the reviews i read about the menudo were good and some even considered it the best in town so i was feeling good about this place. So this is what i ordered my wife ordered the chilaquilles. So the way i normally grade a place on its menudo is the smell and this is why i give it 2 stars. The menudo stunk. Like it wasnt cleaned right. This is a tell tale sign that its gona be some bad menudo. I still tried to eat it but it wasnt good. My wifes chilaquilles were also way to spicy. We eat spice but this was overboard.
google avatar

Yelp
The first thing you notice when you walk in is the colorful decor. I also loved the dishes the food was served in. Almost felt like I was in Mexico. Service was quick and friendly, really friendly! Now for the good stuff...the food! The menu isn't huge which is actually good, unless you're vegan. Turns out I had no reason to worry. The beans have no lard and they whipped me up a couple of veggie filled tacos. The tortillas were made by hand and grilled. We were here kind of late for breakfast but I'm Glad we got here when we did because it started to really fill up as we were leaving.

Yelp
Delicious place to eat! Yelp requires me to write more characters: stop by to try this place!

Yelp
Good so good. Had at least 4 items on menu all delicious. The service was perfect, my servers very nice. The ambience was good music and service perfectly executed.

Yelp
Rumors were swirling at work about the quesabirria. So three of us met up on a Friday for lunch. Inside was way larger than it looks. It's kinda divided into two seating areas. There are a few large screen tv. Service was quick. The rest of the menu looks interesting. I think Javier will be returning to try the breakfast or share the quesabirria. I like that it's not a huge book type menu. Two pages cover breakfast, lunch and dinner. Do a few things deliciously and well. The quesabirria is not for the dainty. The huge handmade tortilla is loaded with lots of gooey melted cheese and even more well flavored juicy birria. Extra napkins are required. In case you don't think that's enough flavor, it's served with a bowl of deep rich consommé. Their margaritas are the perfect drink accompaniment. Since we were seated off in the corner, we weren't rushed at all and was allowed to hang out with our drinks and chips. We spent almost two hours. It's located in an older strip like mall. Shared large parking lot with plenty of space. Note- they are closed Mondays.
google avatar

Bianca V.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place to me. I'm always on the hunt for finding the perfect taco. When I found out the tortillas are handmade I was ecstatic. My server was really sweet. She recommended that I have the chicken taco as it was one of her personal favorites. I can attest to that. I think my favorite taco was the chicken taco. The quesabirria was HUGE and very flavorful, I had to take it to go. The barbacoa and birria tastes the same and I was a bit bummed out about that. The regular tacos are $3 and you can't beat that! It's a nice family business and the inside reminds me of my childhood. Almost every table had people there. You see families, couples, and friends. Quick service and a straight forward menu.

Yelp
Timing is difficult coming to this restaurant now. My wife gets off work at 8 PM. This place says they close at nine P.m. however the last 3 times we arrived here at 8:00-8:15 PM, they would not give us a table. They said they were only doing to-go items. I come here mostly because of the Cadillac margarita, so no wanting food to go. So now we do not try to come here after 8 PM anymore. We live in North Vallys, so it's quite a long drive. Usually if Hector is here, he knows we just have drinks and a snack so he lets us sit down here even at 8:30 PM. The food is really good, I do like the Cadillac margarita. just wish it was more conventional where they list their hours and they let people in up to that time. so yeah, only to go items after 8 PM. What we ordered: Cadillac margarita 2 x Jarritos (sangria flavor) El Cubilete Wet Carne Asada burrito Carne Asada burrito Combination plate (gordita, Pambazo, Barbacoa taco) 1 x Quesabirria The food arrived and my family really enjoyed it. The Cubilete was packed with shrimp. On top was cooked shrimp, in the middle it was raw. Of course the Quesabirria was delicious. Wet burrito was quite spicy, but my son loved it. We eally enjoy the food and drinks. Quite difficult to be turned away at 8 PM when they say they close at 9 PM

David M.

Yelp
The food was off the chart and top notch. I will be back next time I'm in Reno and enjoyed every bite. Dot hesitate to eat here!

Yelp
Solid Tacos for Reno and comparable to some area in Cali. Worth to check out a visit. Nice folks!

Yelp
This is an authentic, homemade from scratch delicious spot!!!!! I highly highly recommend Las campesinos for great family customer service everyone's smiling and enjoys what they do!!!I had to order lots of food cause there was so many awesome choices!!!! U have to try this place if you are in Reno visiting , trust me the locals all ready know about this gem and they support this place with a passion!!

Ross P.

Yelp
Camarones ala diabla was very good. I love their salsa too. Service was excellent and quick. I like this place a lot and will keep going back
google avatar

Myrna S.

Yelp
The restaurant is very unassuming but spacious, there were a few customers when I dropped by to order some tacos for takeaway; 6 carnitas and 6 tacos de barbacoa. The server, Aileen, was very pleasant and nice, and service was fairly quick, I received my to-go order in no time. The tacos tasted really good and this initial visit was overall a positive experience and will definitely warrant a return visit.
google avatar

Karen S.

Yelp
I just ordered the chicken tacos. oh my! home made tortillas! they we're delicious! will be going back.
google avatar

Ruby B.

Yelp
Festive and livelyrestaurant with music, colorful decor and lots of people enjoying the place and the food. The menu is very basic with no descriptions or details of the offerings. Makes it hard to know what you're ordering unless you ask the server. I ordered a chicken taco and a carne asada taco at $3 each which is a fair price. My hubby ordered a breakfast burrito. My street tacos were good. I'd order them again. My hubby liked his breakfast burrito after he deciphered all of its contents. He said it was flavorful. What was interesting and shocking though was that my hubby's Jarritos soda was$4.00, more expensive than one of my tacos! Our gal server was very nice and checked on us often. By the time we left, the restaurant was completely full. It appears that it is very popular among our locals.

Yelp
Based on the quesabirrillia, it was plenty for lunch and tasted ok. The atmosphere is nice and I might come back if im near bye. What most likely will bring me back will be the seafood, I noticed other folks really enjoying their meals. I came during a Saturday afternoon and there were plenty of tables available. Make sure you try their red salsa if you like it spicy.
google avatar

Yelp
I haven't been to their restaurant yet, but I attended an event in Sparks that they catered. The food was delish!! Street tacos filled with el pastor and a chicken quesadilla. Both were absolutely yummy!! Their green salsa was also excellent!! I'm doing the review so I will remember their restaurant's name, cause I can't wait to go there!!

Tollis H.

Yelp
They got our order wrong and the food tasted funny. Service was bad. They didn't take our order and moved to other tables. Friend had an allergic reaction do to cross contamination. Birria was dried. The only thing that was good was the mangorita.
google avatar

Eme E.

Yelp
We were looking for a local spot for quesa birria tacos and happen to see this spot close to GSR where we were staying and let's just say the quesabirria tacos are huge made with homemade fresh tortillas. The carne asada fries loaded was also good with nacho cheese. We decided to order to go but the place is huge enough for groups. The service from the young lady that took our order was very courteous and had great customer service. While waiting for our food I ordered a mangorita blended which was good with the chamoy. We even asked Alex If we can buy some to go, so we can add to our Trulys and he was kind enough to give us a small container so we appreciate amazing customer service. Would def recommend this spot!!! In the same parking area there's a Filipino restaurant I want to try.

Breese B.

Yelp
This place was busy. Bustling. Clearly a favorite for a lot of locals. The ambiance is casual. My breakfast burrito was huge and very good, my wife enjoyed her chicken tacos. The service was nice. The menu is about as basic as you get. The prices are very reasonable, but $4 for a Jarrito is a bit out of whack. We'd go back, but we'll drink water.

Opz U.

Yelp
Pambazos were hella bomb i recommend the Gordita's too they are sooooo good I wish I was in Reno right now lol the tacos are good as well overall this place is very very good definitely recommend if your in Reno

Yelp
The homeMade tortillas made the cut. Not sure if they sell them by the dozen, but if they do, we will buy a few! I had the steak dinner. Mom had the chorizo and potatoes and hubby had a beef burrito. ( I didn't take any pictures of it) We were seated against the walk with the tvs. It was loud somewhat. Wasn't many people there went we went. I would go back to try out a few things. They give you chips and salsa but have it restricted: refills are $6. Menu states gratuity applies to parties of 5 or more. Simple menu. Didn't take a picture of that either. My plate was the most expensive on the menu and I would like to go back. The beans and rice needed a little more seasonings.
