Legendary Valley Chili Dog Restaurant Cupid’s Seems to Be Expanding to Arts District - Eater LA

"The new Cardi B and Bruno Mars music video was filmed at East LA’s Tacos Mexico, reports LA Taco. The Olympic Boulevard location earns a pretty serious showcase for the entire dance-heavy video, from flipping tortillas on the griddle to lots of carne asada." - Farley Elliott

I was driving by and seen this Taco spot and the outside looks very nice which caught my eyes, so I stop in to check-out the place. The staff here was very nice and very helpful. I ordered 3 tacos and a bottle water. I got to admit, the Tacos was the boom! The place was super clean, fresh and all the tables where clean. Thank you for the amazing Taco's see you soon. Taco Mexico have been around close to fifty years since it was founded in 1975 in L.A. I have eaten these great tacos many for years I remember they were couple of Taco Mexico restaurant in surrounding L.A. and other cites. Their Taco de asada are probably the best tacos and everybody like the choice. My favorite choice of meat are pastor and Pollo they season their meat well with spices and marinade and let absorb the flavors. They also have other items on their menu like burrito, taquitos, chili renello and other items.

Google
One of the best Taco spots to go to in LA. It has a large selection of meats to choose from. Cant go wrong with any of them. Staff is friendly and you get fast service. Food is always made fresh.

Google
It's opened 24 HOURS. If you want a late night meal 😋. I get burritos the asada and the carnitas are pretty good. There's good tacos 🌮 also.

Google
Place got remodeled and food just as good! Missed this while it was closed. Got to try the tacos de cabeza and the chile relleno plate!

Google
I’ve bin coming here for years and today was the day that ruined it for me for life never coming back it’s hard to mess up Mexican food Expensive crappy food should take Mexico out of their name and put taco crap instead I’m sorry to say but even Taco Bell is better than this I should of known something was off when I was the only one in their

Google
It is one of the few Tacos Mexico that are around. Food is still good, and their horchata still great.

Yelp
Ordered through Grubhub and food arrived piping hot! I ordered the tacos dorados de papas. The tacos were crispy, seasoned and very flavorful. Very filling. The cream, lettuce, queso fresco, and tomatoes were very fresh and went perfectly with the tacos. The rice was well cooked, seasoned, and very delicious. Finally the beans topped with the queso fresco were delicious and very flavorful. I typically put the beans on the taco to give it a kick. Add in the green and red chile and the spicy vegetables, made for a great meal. The workers immediately prepared my meal when the order was sent to the restaurant. The food was ready for pick up on arrival. Will be ordering again from Tacos Mexico. Thank you for a delicious meal.

Yelp
Tacos Mexico Is a ok in my book! The service is outstanding, the place is clean and they have a pretty good selection of menu items! The things to try are the Torta de Asada and from what I've read...the Horchata. The tacos looked bomb too...but I could only eat so much. I really like the look of the interior too. It has that 1950's diner vibe. Plenty of parking in the rear. Give Tacos Mexico a try if you're in the area!

Yelp
It's Sunday, 1AM and after horror nights. My gf and I are craving tacos and most places have closed except Tacos Mexico. I've never been here before and we decided to drive down and try it. I got 4 al pastor tacos and she got 4 carne asada tacos. The al pastor needed a little salt and flavor but overall were pretty good! The carne asada was tender, no nerve and full of flavor. Def will be back for tacos. The horchata was creamy and tasted like arroz con leche. Try it out, I sure wasn't disappointed.

Yelp
One tortilla is enough for no flavor on it, no even the sauce gave them flavor! No napkins no lemons, no cilantro, no napkins aaaaaggg is a nonooooo! Not best choice my friend tacos

Yelp
How are you going to go from 8$ burrito or less to 10.75$ Yeah no I can find cheaper and more fresh places like a Taco truck or even tacos el gavilan W.a.c.k

Yelp
WORST Carne Asada Tacos ever!!!!! The meat didn't even look like beef. One bite out of my four tacos and I was grossed out. I have no idea what kind of meat this is but it's the worst ever of any carne asada taco I have EVER tried. Disgusting!!!!!!!!!!

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
Best tacos de cabeza always get my cabeza tacos from this location el ranchero that's his nickname cool person i giving credit that meat was so tender

Yelp
Ok so I Love to leave good reviews where it's earned and I'm all about praising businesses and the workers because you just have to, it's the right thing to do. Especially now a days because that's what I base most of my food decisions on whenever I'm out with my family. That being said DANG! Holy cow, boy has this place gone down. New Management ? Ordered sopes combination which is two sopes with beans and rice on the side. The sopes had Al pastor, carne asada and Tripas and were all flavorless and so were the beans and rice. I ordered a burrito, it was also flavorless and had about a small handful, of flavorless meat, don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing since it was flavorless. I also tried to order some food a la carte but they don't serve that here. Overall, I think we were were better off going to the lunch trucks down the street on Atlantic blvd. This place used to be fire, now it just tastes like the food was set on fire and then it was quickly slapped on our plates and then they had the huevos rancheros to call it Authentic Mexican Food. Also, Salsa is not the same as before, it tastes watered down and even looks different. So sad! But Never Again! RIP TACOS MEXICO EAST L.A.

Yelp
Super yummy tacos!! My favorite little spot in LA! Recently discovered them on Door Dash :-)

Yelp
The only taste it has is of chili. I ordered 8 tacos (asada, carnitas, al pastor, and buche) but there's so much chili that the only taste is chili, you can't even taste the tortillas or onions or anything else. I will never understand the fascination of preparing food and then to ruin it like that, maybe they're trying to hide to crappy food taste. Who knows.

Yelp
Stopping by for takeout. Noticed the 2 employees not wearing a mask. When they noticed us in the car. The woman immediately put on her mask but the man threw up his hand in a gesture like "who cares!" Decided to just not risk it so we're heading elsewhere. Beware and eat at your own risk.

Yelp
The cooks were so nice as soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile. Place was clean the restaurant was very calm they had a soccer game on. They have their own parking lot so parking was a breeze it was well lit. All the way from Texas I couldn't go to LA and not try these tacos and they were yummy. According to the cook the farthest he had someone come was Ohio, I think we beat that! Everything food wise was yummy and the food is cheap. My plate was $10 compared to all around LA I got use to $20+ plates.

Yelp
I'm not one to leave reviews but as a salsa lover I must leave one. Went in today and bought 8 tacos which were pretty good in my opinion before paying I asked if they charged for salsa cashier said "no". When I got my order I asked for 7 salsa's the cook said the most I can give you is "3". I offered to pay for the extra salsa he told me he doesn't sell them he gives them out but since he hardly has any left the most he can give me are 3. My question was What am I supposed to do with 3 small containers of salsa's and 8 tacos ??? Secondly this place runs for 24hrs salsa should be the last thing they run out of. If you don't want to be disappointed as much as I was about the salsa save your money and head over to a taco truck, I'm sure they'll have plenty there!

Yelp
What the hell is wrong with the viejita that works the register in the morning?? Maybe she needs a few extra hours of sleep. I asked for an order of rice & beans and she snapped at me! "How am I supposed to ring it up? You want to come over and show me on the register?" Dang... Another time I asked her for spicy pickled carrots and she told me it was too early for carrots. The other cashiers don't seem to have a problem. This is East LA, good tacos & friendly service are not hard to find so I will not stop here anymore.

Yelp
Ruined my Memorial Day weekend. Went to pick up late dinner with some friends and ordered a torta and was going to split the 2 sopes with a friend Thursday night. Got to their place and realized they forgot the torta. So I ended up eating both sopes. Huge mistake. Woke up Friday morning with upset stomach and the chills. I thought it would pass and left for Vegas for the weekend... Only to spend the whole trip with food poisoning. Spent the weekend running between the restroom and the bed. Finally recovering now... never going there again.

Yelp
The quesadilla plate is sooooo good I highly recommend the man who cooks at night makes some delicious food.
google avatar

Yelp
Google Maps has a search feature: in which I found Tacos Mexico and a link to their menu: where the bean burrito is $1.50. At the register it's $6.50. So, I declined to purchase it:

Yelp

Yelp
This place was not the fanciest but the food and service was good. This place has its own Parking lot on the side of the restaurant which is always a plus! The service was fast and very friendly. Food was ready in less than 5 minutes and the food tasted good. Not the best taco meet I've tasted but it was good. It would be nice if it was more updated inside and if we didn't see the boxes and all the food and stuff they bring from the back storage to the restaurant. It looked messy and not so clean.

Yelp
I LOVE Tacos Mexico, something about the burrito and tortas taste so home made and delicious! It's tastes really balanced over all and I end up ordering from them over and over again especially at 2-3am when I'm hungry late at night. Good thing they're open all the time!

Yelp
I love love love the video shot here .makes me want to go check out this restaurant for sure

Yelp
Good spot for street style tacos. Decent assortment of meats. You can get everything that you would expect. (Tacos, burritos, tortas , quesadillas, sopes, etc)Tastes like something that you would get off a taco truck. Free parking available.

Yelp
My little brother wanted to treat his little big sis to some LA tacos, and this place did not disappoint! AL PASTOR FOREVERRRRRRRRRR!

Yelp
4 stars for this place on WEDNESDAYS!! I've been to other tacos mexico before and they are just like this one, they have never been the greatest tacos. Real small and not overly delicious. They are however, decent tacos. I came here last Wednesday because I saw a sign that said taco Wednesdays 55¢!! Reg tacos are 1.05! (Which is actually very expensive considering they aren't the best) At 55¢ you cannot complain! Tortas, burritos, sopes, gorditas, quesadillas, and nachos are the only other things I saw on the menu. There was also a flan pictured and for what it's worth I overheard someone saying it was "blah!" I came here again today since I was picking up my truck from the mechanic and once again it was very slow to get out food. Over 10 minutes and it is not like the place was packed. Last time I got 6 tacos and a small drink for under $5! This time it was 20 tacos and 3 medium drinks for $17.67. Considering drinks were $1.75 each, it would be a little over $12 for 20 tacos. Come on Wednesday! (Not sure if all other locations have this taco Wednesday deal)

Yelp
meat gets 4 stars, but tortillas get 0 stars. 5 minutes after leaving the taco spot, their tortillas were already falling apart. couldn't even eat the tacos. ordered 12 tacos and lady only wanted to give me 3 little hot sauce containers lol
google avatar

Jose F.

Yelp
I seriously do not know why this place gets low stars. it's got great Mexican food. very fast service. I come in order and I'm leaving. Just that fast. perfect for my late night fix.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered a chicken torta, so gross! It was completely soggy but the time I got to work (6 min away). What a waste of $7. Opened it up and even though it was wrapped in 2 layers of foil it left a puddle of juice.
google avatar

Virjilio V.

Yelp
I love me some tortillas echas a Mano. Since they don't have those here, I'll just take a quesadilla de pastor, so... gooooooddddd....
google avatar

Cristhian R.

Yelp
Great option to eat tacos! The Gorditas are terrific and the précis it's really cool! Great option to eat every day! No a good place to stay but you can have an affordable meal. The personal is so kind and they can help you with the order. Don't think twice to come here!
google avatar

Richard R.

Yelp
This place should close down. First of all they overcharge you at the cash register when you pay. On the windows they have specials in tacos, tortas, etc... But when it comes to paying? Watch out!!! The food is awful, the cook looks like he hates his job? The food he prepares sure tastes like he hates the World? I don't know how this place stays in business? I promise, you have a better chance enjoying tacos from a Taco Truck! By the way if you decide to ignore the reviews of this place? Take some wipes so you can clean you're table you eat on.
google avatar

Eric O.

Yelp
Really disappointed in the quality of food, I ordered 4 tacos and the meat and chicken was old and hard, ive had softer beef jerky, had to wash it down with plenty water, only managed to eat two, the others were donated to the trash, never again.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
I use to like this place on Wednesdays lol 75 cent tacos but damn they put barely any meat in the tacos. I have only tasted the carne asada tacos they're good once I put a lot of lemon and salt, carne asada burrito with rice and beans it's okay not bomb, I have tasted a bite or two from my husband's al pastor burrito and it was gross in my opinion, the carne asada quesadilla my favorite but it's so small!! :( I have tasted the horchata here and it's pretty sad. I stopped going there a year ago .... I don't miss it.
google avatar

Yelp
Open 24 Hrs! Fast service Friendly staff Great Mexican food for late night munchies. Always hits the spot.
google avatar

Ramzes G.

Yelp
Pretty good... nothing special but a go to spot for a quick, hardy, and cheap lunch.
google avatar

Cherry L.

Yelp
When all the taco trucks are closed or i want a little something more like the plates, i come here because i don't trust many places with mexican food like this place. Customer service is cool. It's not the fanciest place, but you can trust the food is well made and good especially for a 24 hour place!
google avatar

Tony P.

Yelp
Good tacos and Torta not too pricey my favorite is the nachos it's really spicey. I like eating here. The workers are nice and the food comes out good and fast sooo come when really hungry.
google avatar

Deitra L.

Yelp
Always yummy at this location. Really good prices and the spicy vinegar vegetables are good too!!
google avatar

Jesse R.

Yelp
well it was the only place open this late on the way back. If I would have know it was this bad I would have made a u turn and gone o King Taco for a ok Taste. When I got there I knew they were just warming up the meat from the night before, but I was hungry so I went ahead. I ordered 6 tacos, carne asada, cabeza and pastor. Ive had bette tacos from a street truck. The street truck Rockys tacos on Atlantic blvd across from Saint Alfonsos is not bad and the one on whittier across from the old Golden Gate theater is pretty good too. Back to the review. The tacos at Mexico were pretty dry and with no taste. If it was not for the chille it would have been a challenge. dont go I think your search for a Jack n box will be better.
google avatar

Rod M.

Yelp
This place is horrible. No matter what meat you get, it all tastes the same. Bland. The sauce is really just one flavor. Pepper. If you come here before 10 pm on Saturday, go to the Taco Truck on Olympic and Ferris. 50 cent tacos and they are incredible!
google avatar

Kayflower L.

Yelp
Wednesday's is the only day i would go because of there special taco specials but thats it nothing really special about the place I've had better tacos

Robert L.

Yelp
Have you been over charged at this location ? Sign says tacos $1.29 each c/o then list the meat with no mention of an extra charge for lengua or tripas I was charged an extra .70 cents . If you have been over charged please complain at this number it's there office number I was given it and told this is where complaints go. Shame on tacos Mexico . 323-266-0482
