The LA Taco Tuesday Directory

"You’ve been to Calle Tacos before, you were just too drunk to remember. This food-truck-inside-a-building is a go-to spot to stumble into after drinking on Hollywood Blvd., but it’s also a great place to come sober, because the tacos are worth actually tasting. The deal: $1.39 street tacos, all day." - amy clark, kat hong

Tacos Neza Review - Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Tacos Neza is a much-needed spot on Sunset by the border of Weho and Hollywood, an area where it’s nearly impossible to find an affordable lunch. (No, salad from the Rock & Roll Ralphs doesn’t count). Their roster of tacos is pretty deep - shredded chicken in mole, crispy al pastor topped with pineapple, grilled nopales - and most cost less than $4. Our favorite, though, is the rajas, featuring grilled poblano peppers and a sheet of crispy fried cheese. All tacos come on their pillowy, freshly made corn tortillas. Make sure you ask for a side of their house-made salsa verde and pickled onions." - Brett Keating

Impressed! The tacos are made fresh to order. There is no cashier and you must order electronically and only electronic payments are accepted. The chicken mole taco was delicious and saucy with good savoury chocolate flavour on a fresh made corn tortilla. The pastor taco with bits of fresh pineapple was also tasty. Honestly, it tasted just like the tacos I had in Mexico. Delicious! It’s just missing those salsa/sauce and condiment bars that other Mexican taco places have.

Google
Food was excellent. I got the Chicken Wrap in a bowl. It comes with some green sauce and a packet of hot sauce. The flavor was great and the Apple coleslaw just heightened even more. Highly recommended this place. Only downside is outside the restaurant in the mall could have been cleaner. Inside the restaurant was very clean.

Google
Tacos Neza is DELICIOUS!! I got the chicken bowl, and it was more than I expected. The chicken was perfect, the rice, beans, and salsa perfection. I'm really impressed with the quality and amazing ingredients. The green tomatillo salsa is so good. I'm not from around here visiting but if I return I will come here again. This food is authentic and so delicious! The staff is helpful and friendly.

Google
Ate here before a big movie and it was very good. I ordered the fajita tacos with beans and nopales. The tacos were a flavorful and a good size. The nopales were smokey and delicious. The beans a bit bland but great when mixed together with the nopales. It is pricey for what you get but convenient quality Mexican right next to the Chinese Theatre. Can’t beat the view and ambiance!

Google
This is the best spot for authentic mexican food. Small business, family owned. Attention to detail is obvious. The food always comes out hot and looking great. Savor all around. The business itself is a small place, just enough for people to form a line, order and pay. The seating area is outside in the courtyard. Shared by other food businesses but there's ample room. If you age visiting the ovation, Chinese theater or Hollywood in general, I highly recommend you come eat at this place. You won't regret it.

I was shopping all day and was famished. I wanted to keep shopping so I decided to get something that I could walk around with. All over the Hollywood shopping complex, there were pictures of these taquitos in a cup with guacamole so I had to check them out. I went over Tacos Neza which is tucked in the corner of the mall. It was closing time but the staff was super nice and still served me. I told them I wanted to walk and eat and they said this taquito dish would be good for me. Even though the place was closing people were still coming to enjoy the food and ambiance. I walked throughout the shops with my taquitos which were a little too crunchy for my taste but still good and the guacamole was delicious. I will definitely be back here next time I'm shopping. See for yourself.

Google
The perfect place to grab lunch or dinner. My wife had the house burrito and LOVED it, and I ordered the 3-taco carne asada plate, each one of which was PACKED with delicious meat. Absolutely delicious!

Carolina Vargas

Google
The tacos were tasty and with a lot of meat. This is personal preference but I wish they had spicier sauces. Overall the experience was great. They are on the 3rd floor of the mall and close to GNC

Suzie R.

Yelp
The asada tacos here are the bomb.com. So tasty!!! The guacamole is delicious. Everything is just so good. They are a hidden gem and you have to walk a tad to find it but pure amazing taste as soon as you get fed. Service was good too! The man at the cash register gave us a free cup of ice water which we appreciated. Lots of choices to sit outside and have it's a great walking area.

Yelp
So, didn't actually get to eat here, because when I went to pick up my order, the man behind the counter just told me that they were refusing to make the pickup order I had placed, and also refused to cancel or refund it. I get that it was a busy day, but that's why I ordered ahead... because I knew there would be a line, and I already got in front of that line and paid. They initiated the conversation too, so it's not as though they didn't see that an order had been placed or something, or that there was confusion: they just decided I didn't deserve the lunch I had already paid for. Just really rude staff, no idea why they were so confrontational and I was just kinda in shock as they sent me away. Mercifully I was able to get a refund through the service I used to order the food, no thanks to anyone at the restaurant.

Yelp
This restaurant is in the food court on the third floor of Ovation Hollywood. The kiosk charges .50 so avoid it if you can! The bathroom is locked and nearby. The asada burrito was delicious!! I highly recommend it especially because of the grill marks! I tried one of each option for the taquitos: beef, chicken, bean and potato. The beef was actually my least favorite, and the chicken a little dry. I liked the potato the most and the bean second. I wouldn't recommend getting the taquitos since they were dry. I think the burrito is worth it though.

Yelp
We ordered a main entree and a side, then we added a drink. We paid 1 transaction then wanted a drink. Instead of suggesting us taking a combo, the guy behind the counter did 2 separate transactions. and then I realized we qualify for a combo, so I ask if they can make an adjustment, the employee is not willing to make it a combo and said that it's in the menu, and the cook even came out ask if I can read. It's very rude. The shop knows their menu the best and they don't even suggest the best matching set on their own menu, and put the burden on the customer. Asking a customer who already ordered in English if they can read is very rude. Definitely not good service. They say on their website that they are a proud family business. But they together try to rip you off. At the end, the said in a confrontational way, I am not going to do it, that's it, bye! If you are a tourist at Hollywood and may never come back, they insult you. I warn all the tourists about the service and insult at this place. Don't let this place ruin your mood for traveling.

Yelp
I had some time to kill before my movie so I decided to stop here and get some food. Service was quick since there wasn't a crowd at all. I got a 10" asada quesadilla. Never had to choose between a 10" or 14" quesadilla before, I thought that was pretty weird. Food was decent, nothing that blew me away. Salsa was too boring. I paid almost $14 for a quesadilla + water bottle. Due to the location of this place, I'd probably never return. Simply because of the location.
google avatar

Yelp
I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was pretty good by food court standards. I got a grilled chicken wrap. I liked that the wrap was not too creamy or greasy. There were chunks of apples, so it reminded me of a chicken salad. This is a good place to grab a quick bite before a movie at the TCL theater or if you need a pick me up while sightseeing.

Yelp
I had the pastor burrito. It was delicious, the meat was seasoned to perfection. The service was great as well, the staff was friendly and helpful in assisting me to select something, since it was my first time. Great experience, would definitely recommend and I look forward to returning!

Yelp
Visiting LA for a concert & staying at the Loews hotel nearby, this place is walking distance & the food is delicious! The flautas & tacos are very good and the meat had lots of flavor. We will come back next time we're in town. The location is in the shopping center on the third floor , it was a little tricky to find on google maps but glad we did ! Thank u!

Yelp
My husband and I come here once a month. Always a treat, never disappoints. Fresh Mexica food with lovely customer service.

Yelp
Good package but food is not the best .. probably convenient due to location. Some Of the local non-mall shops are better.

Yelp
Passed this place a bunch of times, finally popped in tonight to check it out myself. Had the chips and guacamole; the chips were excellent. The guacamole was decent, better when I added some of the red onions. The "surf and turf" burrito was hearty, delicious, and satisfying. Definitely a solid option, will be back.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place for a while now since I live right down the road so I decided to get some burritos to-go. I got the veggie breakfast burrito and it was pretty decent. Not amazing but not awful. It had egg, potatoes, cheese, avocado, and black beans. Nothing about this burrito stuck out to me. It was a couple of notches shy from being bland. Adding chile verde sauce definitely helped with the taste but I shouldn't -need- to add it. The amount of avocado given was also not enough. I barely saw any in my burrito. I did, however, really enjoy that our names were written down on each burrito. Definitely made trying to find who's meal is who's stress free, considering they all look the same before actually opening them. Super helpful especially since I'm a vegetarian and would hate to accidentally take a bite of a meat burrito. Prices were reasonable. Each burrito was around $11. I really really want this place to be good. Because the food wasn't awful and I am just down the road, I'm going to go back and give them another shot. Going to try their tacos and regular burritos next.

Yelp
Shortly after having a refreshing drink nearby, I came here to get some dinner. My last meal of the day consisted of a combination I have never had before, which contained four tacos: pastor, asada, ahi tuna, and egg and beans. The pastor was pork slowly cooked and also served with onions, cilantro, and pineapple. This was such an interesting mix that I would definitely try again. The asada taco included a handmade tortilla with grilled angus beef, which definitely hit the spot. The ahi tuna taco contained this seafood along with ginger and alfalfa. This was amazing! Finally, the egg and beans taco was so good to eat during this time; actually, breakfast tacos are good any time of the day, so this was certainly the case! I was able to find street parking at no charge since I arrived later in the night. The convenience was unmatched and I am glad that there was a coffee shop nearby that I could finish my work in. I really enjoyed this place along with the service!
google avatar

Aaron A.

Yelp
Not worth the price. For a $16 surf and turf burrito, you would expect to have a good mix of steak and shrimp. The full burrito was mostly all beans. Additionally, When I asked for more salsa I was given a dirty like as if how dare I? Not the best way to provide service and take care of your customers.
google avatar

Ben H.

Yelp
Easily the best Mexican in LA! They use unique flavors, ingredients and techniques to create tacos and burritos that stand out from the crowd! The location is a bit hard to reach but absolutely worth it!

Nessa M.

Yelp
The service was great, but the food was average. There wasn't enough seasoning on the shrimp or rice. If you dine at this restaurant, I recommend ordering something besides the shrimp tacos.
google avatar

Valerie P.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and get take out from here regularly. The food is solid and always ready on time. My favorite things to order are the breakfast burrito and the tacos plate--I love that there are a variety of sides to choose from beyond the usual rice and beans, although their rice and beans are also good. I've never had a bad meal here and the people behind the counter are always friendly. Glad to have Tacos Neza as an option in my neighborhood!
google avatar

Yelp
Great tacos! All unique an delicious. Big fan of this place A little expensive but good quality
google avatar

Yelp
Had the chicken tacos with guacamole. Delicious. Could not eat it all. Located in a mall on the third floor on the end near the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Seating outside. Five stars. Taco Place
google avatar

Rafael M.

Yelp
These are easy one of the best tacos I"ve had in LA, very flavorful meats and good quality tortillas. The sauces are not too spicy. The host/server is very nice. The place is also rrally nice and there is plenty of parking on the side street. Highly recommended
google avatar

Scott K.

Yelp
One of the best pastor tacos I've ever had. You can tell they put a lot of time and consideration into how they prepare and garnish their tacos based on the protein filling. Pricier than some food trucks you can find in LA but worth the splurge.

Yelp
Finally got to try this spot after walking by it so many times on my way to my neighborhood bar. I'm fairly new to the area and want to make a point in supporting local. Tonight was finally that time. I was tempted to have my order delivered, but decided to walk over since they're so close to where I live. My orders: Tacos - al pastor and asada Asada burrito Horchata Took everything home and ended up eating everything. When I say everything, I mean all of it. I actually thought I'd only have enough room for half the burrito l, but I killed the whole thing. The standout for me was the al pastor taco. The flavor was just the right mix. I used both the red and green salsa they provided and added the onions that was included. The horchata paired perfectly with the feast. It was a little bit on the sweet side so I took 2 big sips and added a little bit of water. I was able to get it to the right sweetness. I'll definitely be back to try the al pastor burrito and the other tacos they offer. Service was great and may I commend you all for keeping the whole place so clean.

Yelp
I mean ... I could say that this is the best tacos and burritos joint in LA but you probably will not believe me. It will absolutely be your loss but hey, you do you. But honestly, if you've never tasted their shrimp burrito or the ahi tuna taco do yourself a favor and try them. Wherever you are tacos neza is worth the drive.
google avatar

Lupita G.

Yelp
I work nearby and my coworkers have been raving about this place which recently opened at the Hollywood Ovation mall. 3rd floor. I finally tried it today and 10/10 on first bite!!! I got the asada Burrito and it's absolutely delicious. Perfect portion size and the price is a deal. Will definitely be trying out more on the menu. Everything looks delicious

Yelp
With SO many taco places in LA, how do you choose one? Sometimes you choose the closest one to you. Tacos Neza is located on Sunset. I would pass it while I was out running errands and noticed they have plant based options, so I made a mental note to stop by. I ordered for pick up through the phone. My food was ready quick -- within 10 minutes or so. For chips and guac, a mushroom taco, and a shrimp taco, my bill came to ~$16, which is reasonable for the neighborhood. My order also came with 2 housemade salsas. One was a mango jalepeño pico de gallo and the other was a classic tomatillo salsa. The housemade chips were SO good. I like thicker tortilla chips vs thin restaurant style and these did not disappoint. And to my surprise, the guacamole portion was generous. Now the tacos were just okay. Both needed more flavor. The mushroom taco was just mushrooms and avocado. Not super creative. I utilized the salsas provided and some of my own hot sauce for added heat. They were good, but not great. Probably not enough to come back for. But the chips and guac might just be my favorite ever and the staff is super friendly. Decently priced food and when you're hungry, you can get it quickly.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
I had a shrimp burrito here today, and I think it was the best burrito I've ever had. Amazing. Along with everything you'd expect in a shrimp burrito, there were perfectly cooked vegetables like peppers and baby spinach. High-quality ingredients that worked great together. The place has bright, modern decor and was spotless. I'm so glad to have found it!
google avatar

Yelp
Great Mexican food spot in the neighborhood! Ordering on their website was super user friendly and ordering directly from them ensures that all proceeds go to the business and not third parties (Postmates, etc.) The Tacos Dorado were the winner for us, the chicken was super juicy and fresh! The fried tortilla was excellent and not greasy at all. My tacos were good and the protein portions are huge, definitely enough to make 2 tacos out of each. My tacos were a tad oily for my taste, but overall very flavorful! I sprinkled some salt and lime juice on my chips and they were perfect! The beans and rice were average and the pickled onions were a nice textural addition to the tacos. Not pictured was the hibiscus Agua Fresca- ORDER THIS! It was so refreshing, especially on a hot day. The space is super open and clean and the gentleman handing me my food was very sweet! The packaging of the food was also great. I will be back to try their burritos!
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh tacos, burritos and more! The ingredients seem really fresh, especially the tortillas , and the smoked guacamole is out of this world. We loved the pastor tacos and the shrimp tacos the most - the pineapple on the pastor really tops it off. I Had it delivered but can't wait to try in person!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is so delicious. After my meal I walked back to the counter and apologized for going to C*****le for so many years. Some eating solo turned and did the same. I had the al pastor burrito no cheese sub rice. EAT HERE!!
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch after wanting to try this for awhile and to be honest, this place has banging tacos. No one was in the restaurant except for one guy at the counter, and I asked his recommendation for what was good. He said try the Al Pastor and this other Taco choice, so I went with the recco. It's cool they give you some chips with the tacos, and all the dipping choices you want. It's a nice touch. The Al Pastor was so fresh, and the taco's were soft and good as well. The other taco was juicy, filling, perfect temperature, and enjoyable. A dope taco spot, and a great addition to the neighborhood.
google avatar

Ivan S.

Yelp
I don't do reviews often but I had to for this place. I just ate the most delicious Al pastor burrito . Give it a shot you won't regret it.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Probably the blandest burrito you can get. Zero flavor. I can't recommend. I have tried the chicken and asada. Two failed burritos.
google avatar

Sabrina P.

Yelp
Obsessed with their tacos. Chicken mole is my fav! We've been regulars of this restaurant on Uber Eats and we threw a party today and did catering from here and it was nothing short of amazing! Don't forget to order their horchata

Arubix X.

Yelp
Good, fast and convenient food stop in the mall by Hollywood Blvd. Good value for money considering how expensive food is around there.
google avatar

Mishelle M.

Yelp
Why is this place not packed? I just had the most delicious taco. Look, the presentation was nice, all ingredients are fresh chopped up nicely both green and red salsa the freakin chips are amazing guacamole is as well. I'm sitting here confused. I don't get it. The prices are good too!! Is it because this place is nice and clean? Are you use to hole in the walls?? Well this place is nice??!?! Support it!! It's delicious!!!
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
I stopped by on a Monday night at 7 and it was empty. Had the chicken mole and the al pastor taco. The chicken mole although was good lacked the depth of flavor, very mild very light on salt. Sesame seeds is a good addition but doesn't change the game. The al pastor is what's up. Sliced up in very fine pieces, it's greasy and very flavorful. It has the signature crisp to it but tender at the same time.
google avatar

Ember B.

Yelp
Obsessed with this place. After getting the pastor taco encostrado I have never gotten anything else besides that. It has pineapple and it's wrapped in crispy cheese. If you like sweet and salty combo you have to try it. Also love the tomatillo guac and chips. The guy who works at the counter is super nice.
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
Great location with fast and delicious service. The tacos were some of the best I've had (outside of Mexico City) super savory, thoughtful salsa selection brought to table (habanero, green, and a dark chili salsa) with pickled onions. Place had plentiful street parking nearby, great meal post Runyon Canyon hike.
google avatar

Ev R.

Yelp
Normally when I want tacos, I want to keep it simple and traditional - meats, onions, and cilantro, with none of this gourmet "hip" crap that costs $10 per taco. I will make an exception for Tacos Neza, which has more of an American Southwest twist on Mexican food, but does it well. Not only do they charge a much more reasonable $4 for most of their (pretty large) tacos, but they're actually GOOD without killing the meat flavors with a bunch of dumb add-ons. The chicken mole and pastor tacos are my two recommendations here, both being very flavorful and juicy. The seafood tacos are a bit more expensive, but they're good too. Their carne asada is fine, but there are options for that elsewhere, and I'd strongly suggest going with one of the other choices. Large, clean space inside that is rarely crowded, and I've never waited more than 10 minutes for food. Street parking only, but fortunately, it's not terribly hard to find a spot in this area.
google avatar

Yelp
GET THE PASTOR!!! Sooo happy to have this place walking distance from where I live!! Very much going to frequent this place often! The diced pineapple in with the crispy flavorful pork is sooo heavenly! their sauces/salsas ‍ & they come with pickled onions on the side!! (EPIICC) Horchata is def one of the best ones I've had in awhile, just make sure to shake it well as its served in a bottle and some of the cinnamon/sugar definitely settles. Asada taco, definitely will try it again, a tad on the dry side but that complimented nicely with the green salsa on the flavors Chicken Mole taco, meat was a little dry in the mole but maybe i just got a little unlucky this time. Will update when I get it another time if it's different! Flavors were very solid tho
google avatar

Jaime M.

Yelp
Just went to this place for the very first time and I must say I was very surprised. The food was good the environment was good and the service was great. My wife had some really good tacos de carne asado, while I had nice sized burrito de carne asada. The service was fast and the workers were very courteous and polite. If your are looking for authentic Mexican food you definitely won't be disappointed coming here. I definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Lance C.

Yelp
A spacious, light and airy dining area awaits the delivery of deliciously fresh and flavorful tacos and a variety of accompanying extras, salsas, sides and smiling employees. Bring your appetite and order family style (or not) and order your way through the menu. Tacos Dorados and the Tomatillo Guacamole were especially satisfying and will keep me coming back!
google avatar

Aeri S.

Yelp
Shockingly bad. The meat is very very dry, and my jaw hurts from chewing it. Zero flavor. Just so dry all around. Good service, hence the one star.
google avatar

Ilya G.

Yelp
Excellent food. I found the place when driving to my relatives house and I was hungry. I got Asada tacos and Fish taco. Asada tacos were excellent. Good amount of beef, not dry and tasted great with salsa. Surprised there is not a line out of the door because the tacos are one of the best I have tried. The restaurant has a modern look inside. Definitely will be coming back again.
google avatar

Darryl W.

Yelp
We tried these tacos the other night for takeout. We ordered the pastor, chicken with green sauce and the asada tacos. We loaded them up with their extra cheese, guacamole and the costero and they were excellent. We also ordered the cheese quesadilla and the chilaguiles which were great as well. We are definitely going back.
google avatar

Stuart F.

Yelp
Went here hoping to find delicious tacos similar to what we had from a street food vendor in Puerto Vallarta and we were not disappointed. The place is finished nicely with basic but attractive decor and the owner was friendly. Parking was a bit of a challenge as there is only street parking but we managed. All in all, the flavor won us over and the vibe of the place is cool. Recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
Great tacos. Great food. Place is clean and with friendly staff. Affordable and quick. High quality ingredients and everything tastes fresh. Highly recommend

Yelp
Love their tacos!! Full of flavor! They also give quite big portions. Want quick tacos to pick up! This is your spot.

Yelp
Food was alright. The guy working was friendly. Unfortunately, there were no signs that their salsa contains nuts. My friend has a nut allergy and ate their breakfast tacos and had an allergic reaction. Places need to advertise when their food contains nuts
