Which London Restaurants Serve the Best Ice Cream, Sorbet and Gelato? | Eater London

"The ice-cream sandwiches at Rye Lane’s small but mighty tacos-and-cocktails joint are lovingly handmade by Happy Endings’ Terri Mercieca, who also works with the likes of Breddos, Hoppers, Yard Sale and Yardarm. Continue the theme with the salted dulce de leche and sponge Tres Leches, or go off-piste with a Strawberry Shorty (cheesecake parfait, marshmallow, jam and dark chocolate between brown-sugar shortbread) or The Malty One (malted milk parfait between two chocolate-dunked digestives." - Emma Hughes

A great place to eat. Inside and outside seating. Great service. Food was really good. I would like to know what fish they use for their tacos. Overall, great place to eat.

Kim Davis

Google
Cassie & Ernesto were both pleasant. The cook in the back made delicious Food. The food was very flavorful and well seasoned. It was worth every dollar spent. I’d definitely recommend eating here.

Google
First time. Shared a Veggie Cali burrito w fries. Ordered ahead to pick up, but didn't realize the burrito would be huge. Asked where to sit because plans ch we'd decided to stay and eat. They said we couldn't eat inside because we ordered to-go, but we could sit at the patio tables outside. No worries. Very friendly. He even came outside some time later to ask how we liked it. Will definitely return to try more!

Google
Fantastic tacos. If I lived in St. Augustine, I would be here all the time. The fish tacos are SPECIAL. You don’t find fish tacos that are this good at very many places. I will say that I ordered takeout and they brought my bag of food outside to me, and they didn’t put any silverware or napkins in the bag. I told them I was taking it directly to golf with some friends when I ordered, so I was a little irritated when I opened the bag (on the golf course) and there were no utensils or napkins. As a result, I was not able to eat the fajita burrito (it comes wet with a creamy sauce on top) but based on everything else, I have to imagine it is very good. Dear Tacos Queen - please put at lease one set of utensils and napkins in your to go bags!! If I’m ever back in this area, Tacos Queen is an absolute must. Even if just to get the fish tacos again.

Sarah Lynn

Google
The store was friendly and cozy, prompt, and friendly. The prices were fitting, and the tacos were stuffed for the guacamole was fresh. The Barbacoa and the chicken Asada is perfect.

Google
The place looks nice on the outside. Customer service was ok. Food was cold, lacked flavor, a little seasoning would have made a world of difference. My family and I stop at the “Taco Queen” on our way to St. Augustine “Historical District Downtown.” During our visit we ordered four soft tacos: pastor, carnitas, chicken, beef. Sorry, we took a picture after we started eating.

Google

Google
Breakfast Burrito, no rice add steak and fries, New Zuzu Breakfast Burrito....! The BOMB 💣 thanks for customizing it for me.. Best breakfast burrito that I've had in 20+ years since moving from Arizona ..

Yelp
This spot was super great. We stopped on our way home and were not disappointed. We were told when we got the menus we will order at the counter when we're ready. We ordered few apps, tacos and a flan. We had too much food for sure but it was all tasty. I got three Mexican style tacos: carnitas, carne asada and pastor and they were all good but the carne was superior. The flan was perfection. It's a quaint spot but it's worth it.

Yelp
Great tacos, great service, and wonderful people running this cool hole in the wall taco spot!! My family and I will stop in again for sure! I highly recommend the shrimp tacos.
google avatar

Shawn H.

Yelp
It had been a long time since we went to Taco Queen. Food was good as was the service. I tried 3 different tacos. A spicy shrimp, one with steak and shrimp and a one with carnitas. The spicy shrimp was fried....and honestly the only let down. Shrimp was a little chewy and the taco just didn't have much flavor. The steak and shrimp had grilled shrimp and they were much better than the fried. It was really good. My favorite tho was the carnitas. It was so flavorful. We will definitely be back and we won't wait so long this next time.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for someplace low-key for a quick dinner and we stumbled upon the spot. The low-key, the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered at the counter and they brought it to the table. I decided on a lettuce bowl of Carnitas and other Items while my wife decided on a single taco with Carne Asada. It was brought out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Though low-key, definitely high-quality food!

Yelp
First off staff was very nice. The building last locking up a bit earlier which was a turn off so I decided to order to go instead of eat in. I had the choripollo because it was a Queen Specialty. The item is described as grilled fajita chicken and chorizo topped with melted cheese with side of rice, beans and 3 flour tortillas. What I got was meat tossed cheese sauce which was rather odd and very salty. I definitely would have preferred melted cheese on top as described. I would not order this item again although I would give this place another try and see if they do better with another menu item.

Yelp
Cute place. Good food and super fast and friendly service. Randomly stopped on a road trip.
google avatar

Shae T.

Yelp
Family was traveling to the beach. Stopped off the interstate to try this. Highly impressed. Food was amazing. I had two of the grilled shrimp tacos. Family had tacos and burritos. Service was super quick and friendly staff. Would come back for sure! Restaurant was very clean and nice inside.

Yelp
Everything was fresh and flavorful, the staff was friendly and attentive, and it was super convenient to get to off 95. Highly recommend for anyone passing through or in the area! Outside seating was dog friendly.
google avatar

Marcia C.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh and filling meals here. Probably our favorite taco place. We have yet to order a bad one. We've tried all of them along with ceviche. Great service and clean, comfortable restaurant to eat in. Tables available outside too. Highly recommend! Just off the 95 exit on SR 16.
google avatar

Yelp
Taco's Queen is conveniently just off of Interstate 95 on State Road 16. From the road, it is a bit hard to see as it is behind the Tropical Smoothie Cafe and not really visible from State Road 16. Walking in, I was greeted by a friendly gentleman who pointed me towards a table, handed me a menu and explained that when I was ready to order, I was to order at the counter. Looking at the menu, I did notice they were a bit expensive. Tacos started at around five dollars and only went up. I went with two tacos. The Queen, which was chicken and cheese, and a chorizo street taco. Before the tip, the total was just over eleven dollars. The tacos were good (not great), but I can't honestly say that they were over eleven dollar for two tacos good. I will say that they had a decent enough meat on them, but I still cannot say that the amount of meat justified the price. As for the ambiance. This place was pretty basic, but it was clean and someone painted a few murals. Again, this was a decent place, but I find it a bit overpriced.

Yelp
The hubs got 2 carnitas, 2 norteño tacos, with rice and beans. Food was on point and filling. Bowl where you pick your base, protein, 5 toppings, and dressing if you want it. I got rice, shredded juicy chicken, beans, pico de gallo, queso fresco, onions and cilantro, and cilantro crema on the side. Their shredded chicken tasted like my mom's. Didn't need the dressing but it added another little layer of flavor. I would definitely come back. The Esquite- was our appetizer which is corn with mayo, queso, tajin or something like it. It comes layered so mix it. Trust me, it's a weird mix but your taste buds will be happy. I'm use to having in on the cob up north. And you get a complimentary bowl of chips and salsa. It's also nice to see they have beer from Mexico besides what you usually see. You get greeted at the door with a menu, find a seat, then go up to the cash register to order your food. The food and drinks came out promptly. Everyone seemed kind and happy to be there because they were singing with the music. I enjoyed the bright look of this place. I have to come back and take pics of the look of everything because I forgot and just enjoyed the experience. Keep it up Taco Queen.

Yelp
The shrimp tacos are a treat! This stand-alone restaurant is hidden behind some of the other businesses, but you'll see the colorful building on the right as you drive in. Really nice tables inside and out, and the wing murals are fun for photos. The lady at the register was very sweet, and the staff seemed to be throwing out orders quickly. I ordered a couple of shrimp tacos to-go and a side of esquites. The sauce on top of the tacos was packed with flavor, and the red cabbage and veggies were super fresh. I'm not sure what it is about esquites that has me craving it all the time, but it really hit the spot once i mixed the cheese, mayo, and corn together. Everything was delicious!

Greg A.

Yelp
Everything! From the service to the food. Very authentic. Reminded me of the food I grew up on as a kid. The red chile sauce...AMAZING!!

Joseph B.

Yelp
This place has great food and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend the Aqualand Tacos they are not to be missed. The staff was wonderful and friendly we will definitely be returning another night.

Yelp
I heard talk about it being good so here I am. This taco connesiur had the queens three, a trio of tacos in corn and with ground beef. Said yes to the sides of rice and beans. Found service was friendly and the place was bright and clean. The tacos went down quick and are definitely worth coming back for more. Cheese and lettuce are fresh and the rice and beans were just as good. I saw burritos being served that were huge so need to check that out next time. Taco Queen is on my list of places to eat for good tacos now. give them a try

Penny D.

Yelp
Food was great! Service was ok. You sit to look over menu and get back up to order at the counter. Didn't particularly like that part of the experience.

Deanna H.

Yelp
Omg!!! The best Mexican food! I'm from San Diego where we are known for the best Mexican food. I accidentally came upon taco queen and thought I would check it out... I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food is and how authentic! Since finding it, I have come here five times in one week because I just can't get enough! Definitely seek this place out you will love it! also everybody that works here is so cool! Very warm and welcoming!!

Yelp
Best Mexican Food in Jacksonville Area hands down seasoned to perfection will make the drive to come and eat here again and again Delicioso !!!! Mike

Yelp
Great spot for some quick Mexican. When you first walk in, you're greeted with some menus and told to sit where you like and to order at the counter when you're ready. We always start with the complimentary chips and salsa (first basket only). This is my third time coming and always try something new each time. Their Verde sauce is killer and a must try. On this visit, we opted for some tacos, enchiladas, and esquite. Their food is always consistent, fresh, and hot, and their service is always quick, fun, and pleasant. This is a top contender for best Mexican restaurant in St. Augustine in my book. They even have some fun shirts to buy, if that's your thing. Lastly, if you're near Holmes & 207, they also have a food truck!

Brenda P.

Yelp
Always enjoy the food from Taco's Queen. Their prices are reasonable, and they usually provide a yummy meal within just a few minutes. Their take out service is super!
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
The decor is bright and fun! The service was friendly and fast. Tacos were very good and most importantly the queso was very good.

Yelp
Best tiny taco spot near the Highway! My family and I went to the hot air balloon festival but left bc it was too cold and we were hungry. We decided to stop by Taco Queen to have dinner. We are all avid Taco lovers so we were excited to give it a try. My husband is Mexican and born and raised in California so we know a good taco when we taste it. My mother got the taco meal and loved it. I got an enchilada and taco meal with rice and beans and my husband got a burrito. Everything was amazing! Food was jammed packet with spices and very flavorful! We ate every last bite and cleaned our plates. No left overs for this family. Please note that you have to sit and look at the menu and then one person in your family walks up to order. A very different concept then what I'm use too but still good and services was fast and easy!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food. Fantastic service! Ordered the mega burrito and it was huge and worth every penny. Very nice authentic Mexican place to eat at
google avatar

Destini R.

Yelp
My daughter chose this place and I'm glad she did. The service is fast and the food is delicious. Once you sit down and look over the menu you go up to the counter and place your order then pay. The music is very enjoyable with lots of seating.

Yelp
Found our way to Taco's Queen for lunch. It was a recommendation from a longtime local. We arrived shortly after noon and there were about 3 tables and several seats at the counter available. We were handed our menus and told we could sit wherever we would like but to come back to the register to order. Our order included queso dip & chips for an appetizer, flautas, and the "choose three". I'd estimate it was around 12:30pm when a whole bunch of people arrived for lunch, and they were not all together. Not a single table, inside nor out, was open and the line seemed to keep growing. My favorite was the flautas. Chicken was flavorful and not dry from the double cooking. Toppings were fresh and crisp. Least favorite was the queso dip. It was more of a queso sauce than dip. It was very thin and runny. The chips were good, and the accompanying salsa was good too. Employees were friendly and welcoming. Restaurant was clean. Getting there from the east (headed west) is a bit tricky. Please be patient and the traffic will open enough to let you cross.

Yelp
Days later, still dreaming about these amazing, unforgettable tacos... Who would have thought the Queen of Tacos has found the holy grail of tacos at "Taco's Queen." How fitting. First of all this is the cutest little taco shop on the planet. Pretty in Florida Flamingo pink and blue, even the ladies room is flamingo pink. So adorable. Margaritas? Their small size is more like a medium, just perfect. I had the small on the rocks both visits and it was very tasty and consistent both times. Very good on the rocks Margaritas! yum yum yum Ole! This Queen approved! xoxo Now for my royal decree: The tacos here at Taco's Queen aren't like regular tacos other places. Nope, you can forget all that now. These tacos are Royal tacos! They are the Queens tacos! First of all, they are bigger than regular tacos. The Queens tacos are at least double in size to other tacos with double the flavor! The grilled shrimp tacos come on flour tortillas, have good size shrimp, like real quality entree size shrimp & they are seared to perfection. The slaw they use is very fresh with a very tangy dressing. Omg I need these in my life, I might have to move again now, it's within my own Flamingo Floridian kingdom, so not too far. haha. The "Aqualand" tacos are very similar except they have the grilled shrimp, beef, and avocado with the tangy slaw. Outrageously yummy if you love surf & turf. :)... The Chorizo tacos are also of very high royal standard. They come on double lightly fried corn tortillas filled with seasoned ground Chorizo and topped with fresh chopped cilantro & onions. Add some of their signature habanero hot sauce and it's an insanely divine experience. :).. We also ordered the Churipollo. A chicken & Chorizo queso dish that comes with rice & beans and 3 flour tortillas. Omg that is some good stuff baby. We got it to go, it was so good we somehow ate it going down the highway at 80MPH. ROYALLY FAST & FURIOUS, RIGHT ON! Ole! :).. FYI: Their signature habanero salsa is HOT! I left crying both visits. And i'm still crying, bc Taco's Queen's Kingdom is a days ride away from my own Royal-less Royal tacos beachside kingdom! Such Tragedy always befalls the royals. What am I to do?! *crying* My privy council has failed me! Off with their heads! haha. This Queen can not wait to get back to "Taco's Queen" to dine in the Royal Flamingo pink & blue dining hall of the Kingdom of royal tacos. My new favorite taco shop in the Floridian Kingdom. "Taco's Queen" tacos are very Royal indeed. Queen of the Kingdom of pirate'cola approved. xoxo

Yelp
We ate dinner here before the Adam Sandler show at the Saint Augustine amphitheater. I loved the relaxed vibe. They had a bunch of tables inside and out. It looks like it may have been an old Waffle House? I ordered a jalapeño margarita and two tacos, the carnitas and the steak/shrimp/avocado. They have an option to add fried cheese but I didn't want the dairy so I declined. The carnitas were really good! Steak and shrimp was also good. The margarita was tasty, not too sweet. This place has a bunch of take-away orders? You can tell people like to eat here often. Would recommend for a casual date night!
google avatar

Justine C.

Yelp
4.5 / 5 stars! Really good food, really cute place! Could have use a little bit more salt on the meat, however the queso dip and a homemade hot sauce really elevated the flavors and made this a nice stop on our way back down to southern Florida. The shrimp from a really fresh in my shrimp tacos!
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Great food and lots of it for a reasonable price. The burritos were good sized and served with rice and beans. Service was beyond amazing and staff was so friendly and helpful. Super clean too. It's one of those places if you didn't know how good it is, you may drive by. Do try it, you won't be sorry!
google avatar

Rich G.

Yelp
First time at Taco's Queen. Glad we came. Wife and had the ground beef taco salad. Very good plenty of ingredients. Just the correct amount of beans- with a good size serving of ground beef. You order at the counter and they bring out the food. Friendly staff- great food and service. It's a 5.

Brandy R.

Yelp
Stopped randomly after shopping at the outlets and it's a new staple. Everything was delicious, and they were so friendly! Can't wait to stop in again!
google avatar

Jennie G.

Yelp
The shredded chicken enchilada was dry without any flavor, the beef enchilada was pretty much the same. The only thing that gave them some flavor was the sauce which there was very little of that. The meal was only warm(not hot). The chips and salsa were good and the staff was nice. I feel isn't was over priced for the standard of food that was offered.
google avatar

Angela A.

Yelp
Awesome authentic tacos! Absolutely delicious! We stop every time we go to st. Augustine
google avatar

Chaylin H.

Yelp
The tacos are delicious, burritos are massive and service getting food out to the table is always fast. Staff here are awesome and attentive, keep your drinks full and made sure all of our food tasted as good as it looked. The ambiance is that of a quick ish service food restaurant, but don't let that deter you from stopping for some tacos and marg's! This place does not lack in flavor or variety of options to order.
google avatar

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Ordered a strawberry margarita- it was good but just juice. The chicken flautas tasted like the oil they were fried in, and the chicken was smushed left over- not good at all. Honestly not a good place for food. Nice decor though!
google avatar

George T.

Yelp
My go to place for Tacos in Saint Augustine! The service is always great, portions are huge, food is always delicious and fresh! Best Carnitas I've had in Fl! Check them out!
google avatar

Edward A.

Yelp
Heard so much about this place and finally had the opportunity. They relocated from their original location off CR207 a little further north on SR16 between the outlet malls. Turn into the Shell gas station and weave your way through the busy-ness of that area. Ordered a barbacoa, carne asada, and queens taco. The way I listed them is the way I would rank them. Barbacoa was bursting with flavor and I would always order this on future visits. The carne asada was very good but I've had better. The Queens taco was a little disappointing as the chicken was a little dry and the ghost pepper cheese sauce was underwhelming. It's a good idea but execution fell flat for me. I will chalk that up as an off day for the chicken. Regardless, service was friendly and fast and I'll be back soon for sure. Don't forget the homemade habanero hot sauce!

Pamela M.

Yelp
Yes totally!! You must go and eat real Mexican foods, very good!! We traveled south of I-95 and we stopped by there, had quesadillas and shrimp crevice omg!
google avatar

Casey G.

Yelp
Taco queen is pure royalty! I love Mexican food and this place is unique and delicious. It looks like an old waffle house but inside has delicious food, quick service and great prices. We walked in and it was super busy. But have no fear, because they deliver. After my husband order we quickly received drinks and chips and right after our meals. We were in and out and stuffed within 30 minutes. Well worth the trip. Would go again. Now we are in serious need of a nap. Thank you Taco queen.
google avatar

Pablo S.

Yelp
Great food and service. Their table salsa and chips are on point. I had Choriqueso, Asada taco, Carnitas taco and Horchata. All great! Thank you!
google avatar

Erica W.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about Taco's Queen. Happy people, happy colors, happy food. Happy, happy, happy. From the second you walk in the door you're greeted, handed a menu and promoted to sit wherever you'd like. They have your classic Mexican menu with tacos, burritos, salads, etc. However the taste is much more authentic and seasoned. A friend and I shared the chips and queso. She got the Cali burrito and I opted for the Queen salad. Everything was SO SO SO good. And on top of all that, the service was so phenomenal. Everyone there was kind, helpful and friendly. Not far off the beaten path, this is a St. Augustine outlets must!
google avatar

Kortnee C.

Yelp
This is the BEST Mexican restaurant we have been to in awhile! The staff was amazing and the food was phenomenal! We highly recommend the arroz con pollo!
google avatar

J L V.

Yelp
Love there food everything we had was great carnitas Mexican style, asada, norteño taco, there choriqueso, and there hot sauce is great!!
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much at first. Place was empty when came in and crowded by the time we ordered so I thought this must be the spot. Service and people were super nice and friendly! Food was good but I expected more... Fish Tacos: tasty, husband enjoyed Esquite: prefer cob over bowl, husband enjoyed Won't be going back!

Sarah H.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Stopped in as we were driving through town and it hit the spot. I had a carne asada taco and a queens taco. My husband had the queens quesadilla. And my kids each had kids meals. We also had the choriqueso. It's was all delicious, and the servers were great too. Don't miss this! I'll stop again next time.

Catherine S.

Yelp
Super impressed with the food at Taco's Queen. Chips and guacamole--super fresh and yummy. Queen burrito loaded with chicken! Quesadillas great too-will definitely add this to our travel itinerary next time we pass through St. Augustine. Service was fast and friendly. We took to go--hard to eat as you drive though-should have grabbed a booth and eaten in. Love the outdoor graphics-can't miss. Highly recommend.

Andrew D.

Yelp
