The Best Tacos al Pastor in Los Angeles, Ranked by a Mexican Food Expert - Eater LA

"Tamix is celebrated for its bold adobo flavors that stick to the pork in their al pastor. Though the tacos are small, the quality of the Mexico City-style al pastor, best enjoyed as a gringa or in an alambre, remains high. Indigenous Mixe owner Rolando Martínez ensures authentic flavors, contributing to Tamix's popularity despite the small taco size." - Bill Esparza

The Best Burritos in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Though Tacos Tamix is best known for its eponymous dish, the burritos are also excellent. Order the al pastor burrito, which comes with marinated pork shaved off a rotating trompo, beans, rice, salsas, cilantro, and onions." - Rebecca Roland

Ordering a Taco Kit Is the Best Way to Eat the Mexican Staple at Home - Eater LA

"Taco Tamix offers alambres, which are recommended as the best to-go option for al pastor. These alambres get even juicier from bacon fat, melted cheese, and sauteed vegetables, and come with a stack of corn tortillas." - Bill Esparza

Sunset time just hits different. I love outdoor spaces and this experience was great. I paid 7$ for 3 tacos and you can also get more salsa, sauce and salad for free at a self-service stop. Taking order lady doesn’t understand English as much, but we figured it. In general, awesome price for pretty generous tacos at a great access spot

Google
I have been here about 10 times these past few months. The highlight is the al pastor. Flavorful, well-seasoned, and a tiny bit burnt from the grill. They're open ~5pm-1am everyday and offer tacos, burritos, quesadillas, mulitas, tortas, baked potatoes, and aguas frescas (typically horchata, Jamaica, piña, and champurrado) at a reasonable price. The salsas are great. I recommend the guacachile and chipotle salsas. Feel free to grab a couple of chiles toreados on their side pot. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because while they have various protein choices, their consistency is not as good outside of the al pastor, carnitas, chorizo, and cabeza.

Google
Tasty authentic tacos! A lot of options to choose from and very affordable prices! So many topping to add on your tacos. A must try if you are in the area.

Google
Jesus these tacos were basically perfect in terms of being like authentic street tacos that you would get in Mexico (but better than most street vendors in Mexico). Super impressed. I had one of every taco and an Al Pastor burrito and it was all perfect. Exact same flavor and style as Mexico. Took me back!

Google
Tacos Tamix serves up some great food, and the al pastor is definitely the standout—it’s flavorful, well-cooked, and exactly what you want from a taco stand. The spot itself is in a liquor store parking lot, which gives it that classic street taco vibe. The only downside was the service at the register, which wasn’t particularly friendly. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it definitely stood out. That said, the food was solid, and I’d still come back if I’m in the area.

Google
Delicious tacos! Lots of meat and great flavours. We got there as they first opened, so it was quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering foil to wrap our plates with to takeaway.

Cashier was super nice, and the truck has a nice option of eating there (covered seating) or taking out. However, the carne asada quesadilla simply wasn’t it. Not nearly enough meat, and for the price ($10), I expected a bit more. With that said, it was delicious and the salsas (mild avocado green, classic verde, and a spicy roja) were ALL delicious. Just need to hook a brotha up next time to truly earn the 5 stars that I know yall can get.

Google
Best tacos in town. They make the food right in front of you. So much flavor and salsas are everything. They have a stand where you can get your own salsas, onions, cucumbers, and limes. 2 dollar tacos is everything.

Yelp
BEST TACOS in the SOUTH BAY!!!! Hands down the most authentic al pastor tacos on the tip of the South Bay region. I randomly discovered this location about two months ago while looking for a late-night dinner. I have already been back 5X at different times in the evening. Yes, it's that good and affordable! ***FYI, I'm a very very very judgmental person when it comes to tacos too. The Al Pastor is thinly sliced, which is my absolute preference. The other food on the menu is also great too. TIPS: 1) Cash only 2) It can get very busy during dinner time (6-8pm), so service can be a bit slower vs. later in the evening. 3) The location may be intimidating since it's at the cross section of the 105/405 freeway at a Liquor Store parking lot. 4) EAT THE FOOD THERE. You definitely want to enjoy the tacos fresh and on-site.

Yelp
This hidden gem is amazing. Due to a flight delay We had to wait 2 hours before picking up my sister at LAX. It was 10 Pm and so most of the restaurants there were already closed. We decided to get Has at the shell station on Imperial and while waiting to fill up there was a wonderful smell coming out of the side street from a food truck !! . We decided to try this and ordered quesadillas as the heat will probably kill most of the bacteria (if there is any) . It was delicious !! My husband returned back and ordered 5 tacos and it was as good as ordering from a restaurant in the valley. The service was good and the extras of cucumbers, salsa, pico de gallo were plenty .

Yelp
Happened upon this taco truck. It looked tasty enough so we decided to try it out. The al pastor tacos are the way to go here. Not quite worth making a detour for but very good tacos if you're in the area.

Yelp
I recently tried TACOS TAMIX and had four street tacos: two asada with cilantro and onions, one pollo, and one carnitas. TACOS TAMIX offers more than just delicious, well-crafted street tacos with fresh and flavorful ingredients.

Yelp
This place looked promising while driving up. However I felt this place was just ok. The tacos are tiny, like they use the smallest possible tortilla. @$2.50 a taco there is no need to use the small tortilla. On top of that the taco lacked meat. 2 small slivers of pastor, the pineapple slice is bigger than the meat. The burrito also lacked meat. All I could taste was rice and beans. I felt let down as I wanted some good tacos. The best thing here was the mulita which used fresh made tortillas. Could have added a bit more cheese. Located next to snappy mart which is my go to for sandwiches before taking off.

Yelp
Taco fans... especially AL PASTOR.. if I may say these are by far some of the best tacos I've had within the greater LA area. Yes tacos are a bit on the small side for the price but heck what isn't expensive these days. I definitely recommend this place and will be coming back again for more! Service is ok and parking lot is always busy so good luck with the parking!

Yelp
If I could I would give these tacos 0 stars. The lady that charged us today charged us incorrectly twice. She tells you one total and then either adds a tip or something and runs it for a higher amount. It's a rip off!! The tacos are so so. The cabeza tacos have a lot of fat. Be careful with your money and I don't recommend.

Yelp
Cute little corner taco stand with all kinds of Mexican plates. We had basic tacos - one chicken, one pork. Both delicious. The guys running it are hard working and fast. Food is fresh. Very convenient to LAX.

Yelp
They had one of the best el pastor tacos I've ever tried. It is reasonably priced and the portions are big. Their red hot sauce was amazing as well.

Heleodoro G.

Yelp
Cashier there after giving you your bill she add more to the tip. So this women is adding an additional amount to the tip. I give this taco Tamic location a minus 5. People make sure of you eat there to take a look at your bill very close.

Yelp
We were on our way home from the Strawberry Festival and happen to catch this stand setting up shop. I kid you not, these guys turn up some of the most flavorful meat I've ever had. I had a torta de asada, huarache de asada and two tacos de al pastor. All were bomb AF! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Yelp
If you're near the LAX area and hungry, I highly recommend you go to Tacos Tamix on LA Cienega. They have a wide assortment of food options, including the usual tacos and burrito, but also fajitas plate and baked potato, amongst others. The pastor is delicious.

Yelp
This place is legit. Good meats, properly seasoned, good portions, flavorful sauces. Everything that you should expect from a taco stand.... It delivers.
