D.C. Is Likely Getting Another Ambar — But Not Until 2019 | Eater DC

"I understand the downstairs space in the Silver Spring project will house Tacos, Tortas and Tequila (TTT) as a Mexican diner with about 50 seats and a 10-seat bar serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus grab-and-go service; it's one half of a two-part concept scheduled to open in April and the design intent is to transport diners to Baja California with breezy, open vibes rather than the darker Day-of-the-Dead look, while the cuisine will be inspired by various parts of Mexico." - Tierney Plumb

Team Ambar Wants to Turn Arlington’s La Tasca into a Taqueria | Eater DC

"The just-announced Tacos, Tortas and Tequila is planned for Silver Spring and is slated to be adapted as a modified concept for the La Tasca space in Clarendon, representing Ivan Iricanin’s first crack at Mexican fare in the U.S.; I was told the concept could arrive in Clarendon as soon as this fall if plans proceed." - Tierney Plumb

Serbian Restaurateur Is Opening a Taqueria in Silver Spring | Eater DC

"Planned as a Mexican, taco-focused spot by Balkan restaurateur Ivan Iricanin, this incoming downtown Silver Spring concept will operate under the name Tacos, Tortas and Tequila; a liquor-license application has been posted and menu and ETA details are still pending. We loved this hole in the wall spot in Dillon! The atmosphere reminded me of authentic Mexican restaurants I grew up going to with my family. The staff were friendly, the food was delicious, and the service was fast. I loved the veggie burrito and my cousin can’t stop raving about the chicken tacos.

Google
Ordered a to-go order of carnitas. While waiting asked if bartender/host/waiter...yes, he was juggling it all, if he could make a margarita like in Mexico. No sugary, nasty mix. It was perfect!! So if you don't like the sweet concoctions, ask for a "skinny". I have had many "skinnys". Not all "skinnys" are alike but this one was spot on. Took me back to my Cabo days. The carnitas were perfectly crispy and flavourful. Not greasy. Well, it is pork, so if you expect totally greaseless, you need to order dry toast. Only thing that would make the food better would be if they had whole pinto beans as an option instead of just refried. But that won't deter me, I'll be back!

Google
Abel was truly a gem. The food was absolutely amazing. The tacos were so fresh and flavorful. My friends and I are from Miami and this restaurant was by far some of the best Mexican food we’ve had. Thank you Abel and staff! :) HIGHLY highly recommend if you are craving some cultural food!

Google
I was actually surprised. Food and service was awesome. I was visiting during the holiday and stopped by to try it out. Tacos de asada were great and the portion size is great as well. Try it out 10/10 . The owner was really helpful as well. TRY IT OUT.

We were staying at Keystone skiing this week but desperately needed a trip out of the resort for dinner. We love a great, authentic Mexican restaurant for dinner and decided to try Tacos Tequila Bar & Grill. It did not disappoint! It is certainly an unassuming location and very much a casual atmosphere…but the food is fantastic. I had a breakfast burrito with solid chorizo. Others in our party had fajitas, enchiladas and quesadillas - all spot on. The prices are completely reasonable (especially when dropping ski resort money) and the bar is well-equipped for a great meal! I would also add that the house salsa is very good as well as the queso. Overall we had a great experience and think you will too!

Google
Recently stopped here to eat because it was raining and storming out. The place is nice, food was delicious and pastries they sold were good as well. I did call ahead and asked if it was dog friendly, the man on the phone said yes. However, when I got there one of the waiter told me no, but told them I did call and checked and was told it was. They did let me eat here, but I didn't think the man behind the bar was as friendly. Overall nice spot for tacos and margaritas.

Google
Open at 10am. Breakfast burritos are wooooooo! Amazing!

Google
Tacos are great, service is good. Sketchy, undisclosed 20% gratuity for a party of 2? Didn't see it in the menu's fine print nor was it mentioned until we got the bill, and on top of that there's the standard line to add a tip.

Yelp
Food: you know it's going to be good when they are serving lengua and tripa tacos, my absolute favorite! They food was very fresh, good portions, and the meats were cooked very well. Also got a horchata, I recommend! Service: they are very fast and friendly. It started to pick up during lunch time and they were getting to people very quickly. Ambience: the restaurant is in this small business mall? They have nice window seating and overall it's easy to find. Parking might be a bit tough during the weekends.

Yelp
My partner and I took a much needed trip to the mountains over the weekend and we were looking up a lunch spot in Dillon. She pointed this Mexican restaurant out and I immediately felt transported back to Texas without even eating there yet. The tables, the chairs, the flooring..the dessert area and even the candy machines you put a quarter in reminded me of so many places I've eaten at back home in Houston. I got the four taco plate, with two barbacoa and two pastor and wow they were delicious!! The Mexican rice was also great and so were the salsas we tried. It all washed down smoothly with a cold mandarin Jarritos as well. Bathrooms take you down a hallway full of other shops and they have a code on them, so make sure you ask for it before you walk over there. Staff was incredibly friendly and kind, although I mentioned Houston it kinda gave me local San Antonio Texas vibes as well, in a very good way! I cannot believe this spot is in Dillon, I'll definitely go back when in town or before a concert at the amphitheater. One of the most authentic Mexican food spots we have been to so far here in Colorado.
google avatar

Kristi M.

Yelp
Wow - Amazing customer service! Everyone was so incredibly friendly! The Mexican rice was some of the best I've had in Colorado. The chicken tacos were so filling! The pricing is incredible. They had some delicious looking pastries and cakes but we were so stuffed we didn't get to take advantage. Next time we will def save some space :)
google avatar

Susan W.

Yelp
The margaritas were watery and food was bland. I would not recommend this establishment.
google avatar

Cynthia H.

Yelp
Pros: - Super nice, down to earth people - Best freshly baked Mexican goods - Solid, honest filling food - Reasonable prices - Spacious, never have a wait - Easy parking Cons: The food can be a little more flavorful. Just keep the food expectations reasonable and you will be happy. It's not the best in town but definitely above average.
google avatar

Yelp
Unassuming, unpretentious, solid Mexican food with great service. Decent margaritas (large) and we enjoyed the crispy chips and salsa. The burrito is a large flour tortilla filled with rice, beans and meat choice. The Al pastor pork wast very tasty. It's topped with cheese and I asked for green chili on top. Yum!! Lots of juicy pork chunks. The steak fajitas were sizzling and came with rice beans and a choice of tortillas. Really nice people (servers and guests).

Ivana P.

Yelp
Food was authentic Mexican!!! The fajitas were some of the best I've had. Service was great and quick. Great spot for lunch!
google avatar

Danielle V.

Yelp
Nice local spot with friendly service. Chips and salsa are excellent. Had a couple different burritos during lunch visits while I was in town. No complaints at all. You won't leave hungry from here!

Amelia D.

Yelp
I can't recommend this place enough. Delicious, authentic Mexican food. From breakfast lunch and dinner is the best Mexican food I've tried in the area. Portions are huge, so believe me is so worth. The place is family owned and you can see and taste in their food how proud they're. Don't think twice about trying thiis amazing. Also drinks are super tasty and BIG.

Michele M.

Yelp
The only place in summit county that isn't overpriced. And I live here ha. Great food. Great service. Big portions. I'd choose this place over ANY of the Mexican restraints in the county. Love it here.
google avatar

Katrina S.

Yelp
Always a phenomenal stop when in the area. The food quality is superb and their margaritas are delicious!

Christianna C.

Yelp
Would put 6 stars if I could. I'm from Miami Florida and this is some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. Service was top notch and Abel was fantastic. Must go!

Aaron C.

Yelp
Always a good sign when you see locals eating at a place. Also have a small Mexican bakery inside if you have a sweet tooth. Steak & Barbacoa burritos were BIG & filling. My son had the steak tacos & they were filled with steak. Very casual with Tex mex & more traditional Mexican food too.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this using Yelp as it is a bit hidden. It's in the same building as a bowling alley. Don't let that deter you because it's a pretty good authentic Mexican restaurant. When you walk in - we were immediately greeted and sat quickly. Toward the front - there are fridges of bakery items and an man just sitting there selling it separate from the restaurant. It looked good but we didn't grab anything. As soon as we sat, we were given chips and salsa right away. I thought I'd changed it up and got an Orange Fanta. To my surprise, it came in a glass bottle. We ordered the cheese dip and I got the asada quesadilla. My fiancé got a carnitas burrito. All of our order came at once within 10 minutes and a new basket of chips for our cheese sauce. It was flavored well with chunks of jalapeño in it. My quesadilla was huge. I did not expect it to be (can't tell in the photo since they layered it but it was basically two whole large tortillas used. So 8 pieces. For the price - wow! The burrito was HUGE! We enjoyed our food but we never got checked on after the first few minutes of getting food so we had to finally get up to pay at the counter. I'd recommend this place. It definitely a good change of pace from the touristy crowded restaurants in the area.

J V.

Yelp
Amazing food, service, and portions! I had the fajitas and it was enough for at least three meals! Flavor was perfect, not overly seasoned. My fiancé had one of the burritos, it was massive, but it was so good he actually finished the whole thing! Margs were great, fresh homemade pastries were awesome for breakfast the next day! The place didn't look like much from the outside, but the inside was pretty cool!

Craig A.

Yelp
Stopped in here one afternoon by chance. I had a veggie burrito which was okay, it's not a place I would rush back to. The staff was friendly and the cleanliness was about average.
google avatar

Elizabeth J.

Yelp
I often come after riding and saddle up to the bar for happy hour. I enjoy the selection of small bites and tasty margs. If you come early it's pretty chill. At night it can be so packed and loud that it's hard to hear your friends. The bar stool in late afternoon/early evening is definitely where it's at.

Lourdes O.

Yelp
Amazing food and customer service . Authentic Mexican food . Tacos are very tasty . If you want an amazing dinner or lunch go there

Laura R.

Yelp
Abel was truly a gem. The food was absolutely amazing. The tacos were so fresh and flavorful. My friends and I are from Miami and this restaurant was by far some of the best Mexican food we've had. Thank you Abel and staff! :) HIGHLY highly recommend if you are craving some cultural food!

Alex G.

Yelp
Seriously one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants I have ever been to.... And I am from Miami.... I got the steak and pastor tacos and they were AMAZING. Also, Abel is the best!
google avatar

Kayla J.

Yelp
This was amazing - the barbacoa tacos were so so so good. Worth the trip just for those! Chicken enchiladas also delicious. Generous portions and a great price. That includes the Patron margarita
google avatar

Dylan C.

Yelp
A hidden gem of a taco spot located in Colorado. I think this food was comparable to the LA street tacos. The portions were large and it wasn't too pricy. The carne asada, lengua & al pastor were all made really well with good with smoky & salty flavors. The flan was a great dessert too that topped off the meal.

Francis S.

Yelp
I'll start simple, the food was amazing! The drinks were big, cheap, and amazing! Family business where even the son showed fantastic etiquette! Now for the in depth: Walked in on a Friday night with my parents. Place was pretty packed but they found us a great table right away! Took our drink orders and gave us complimentary chips and salsa. Shortly after seated, roughly 15-20 more guests arrived to an already packed dining room. I was seated by the register so I got to watch them work. No stress at all, each guest was shortly approached, taken to a table and taken care of quickly. Furthermore, during this process they took our order. Our food took less than 10 minutes to come out! I had the carne asada tacos, my mother had the pollo tacos, and my dad had a carne asada burrito. I tried all of the food and it was amazing!!! Combined with the 12.50 price for the 4 street tacos, we 100% got our money's worth out of the food. Cannot recommend this place enough! If you're in Dillion please, come and try this place! I didn't even mention the freshly baked bread and pastries but I didn't try any, just saw them in the corner. When I come back to Dillion, I will 100% return to Tacos Tequila Bar and Grill!
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Small, locals spot. Great prices. Fast service. Good food. It seems they also sell fresh baked breads.
google avatar

Torri H.

Yelp
I ordered a simple carne asada quesadilla, while my buddy ordered an assortment of tacos. Everything was just ok. The service was prompt and friendly but the food is about what you'd expect from a small town Mexican joint in the mountains. Temper your expectations if you're used to legit Mexican.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Service was great and so was the food. The Mexican pastries and desserts were wonderful. Staff was friendly and helpful. We'll go back again!
google avatar

Stephen P.

Yelp
I've been going up to Dillon regularly for years and somehow just found this place. Solid Mexican food, huge portions, great value, and friendly service. We got the fajitas for two and it was really plenty for three people. It's in a weird location and the furniture is all showing its age, but all of that adds to the hole-in-the-wall character, as does the cash-only bakery counter that's run in the corner.

B L.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Delicious tacos, tasty margaritas, and great staff. Will be our go-to for now on in Summit County!
google avatar

SnowChik B.

Yelp
This place had amazing food. A very authentic feel to the dishes. The service was good, the people were nice. The food came quickly and was a good price. This will now be one of the places we make sure to stop every time we come. The barbacoa burrito was so delicious! EVERYTHING we ordered tasted great, fresh and authentic. this place is definitely a hidden gem.

Rachel J.

Yelp
Service and food were great. We tried the tacos, Fundido, and quesadillas. The Fundido was especially good.

Yelp
After a long day in the mountains, I was so hopeful to be blown away by this little Mexican restaurant in the town of Dillon. It's in a bizarre location within a community center, but I wasn't really turned away by that. The restaurant was very socially distanced & we were sat in a window seat. The service was okay but we had to ask several times for things they forgot. I'd give this place 3.5 stars if Yelp would let me give 1/2 stars :) The intro chips & salsa were a nice touch and the salsa was the most flavorful thing on the table - full of cilantro & onion! For the entrees, when you think Mexican food, you think FLAVOR... spicy, good flavor. This was anything but that - both of our dishes were bland AF! I got the carnitas burrito (half red/half green sauces on top), and Joey got the chicken enchiladas with green sauce with a side of rice & beans. They were just lacking in any kind of spice whatsoever (salt/pepper too!). Oh, the queso appetizer was tiny for $7 & also lacked flavor... but the house margarita was pretty good though :) All in all, Tacos Tequila is good if you want a quick bite that's pretty fresh. The food was mediocre, the service was alright.... nothing overwhelming but nothing too awful. Perhaps I'd give it another try if I'm starved & not wanting to wait an hour for food?
google avatar

Yelp
Wow. Have had a condo in Dillon for years and this is our first time trying this joint. We will be back. The food was authentic and incredible. Our group of five skiers devoured queso fundido, chile rellenos, and tacos of all sorts. Everything was absolute quality. Prices were super fair as well, especially for Summit County.
google avatar

Sven P.

Yelp
This place is super unassuming as it is kind of hidden in the same building as the bowling alley. This being said you need to come find this place. The dining area is pretty small but the flavor of their food more than makes up for it. I had the lengua tacos and me ohhh my was I a happy camper. You also get to have the delicious smells of the bakery as you eat. I highly recommend you come here!
google avatar

Peter S.

Yelp
Nothing bad to say. Tacos al pastor and carnitas were excellent, and the fajitas were really delicious. Service was fast, attentive, & friendly, margarita was large, chips came w/ the table. We were instantly transported to street tacos in LA and other prev. great tacos & mexican food. Atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Zero hesitations, will be back.
google avatar

Mark D.

Yelp
First time here and blown away. Four empty plates out of 4. Nobody talked we just savored. Also a plus you can buy authentic Mexican pastries and bread to go!

Veronica L.

Yelp
Best service we have been there twice. Great Mexican food that reminds me of home. Atmosphere was great. They are very welcoming and friendly.
google avatar

Vinayak P.

Yelp
If you are out here and craving good Mexican food, have no fear, this place will hook ya up. Being a California native, my Mexican food cravings kicked in so needed to scratch the itch. The al pastor tacos here did the job. I'll definitely be back here to try out more dishes. Sidenote, margaritas are fire.
google avatar

Anastasia Y.

Yelp
This place is truly a hidden gem. The service off the bat was friendly and welcoming, the space is quaint but definitely not a hole in the wall. Great spot to cozy up on a snowy day to watch football which is exactly what we did. House Marg was good, I'd personally like it to be stronger but still good flavor and not too sweet. All imported beers are $4.50. But where this place really shines... the tacos!!! So authentic and delicious and a great deal to get 4 tacos under $10. Favs were the chicken and barbacoa - and the squeeze salsas/hot sauces they give you are to die for. We ended up bringing some home with us because they were so goood. I already can't wait to be back.
google avatar

Gayline C.

Yelp
The nicest people work here and the food is bomb! My go to for Mexican food in Dillon (and I'm from Cali where Mexican food is the real deal). Make sure and check it out if you're in town!
google avatar

Yelp
A kind local restaurant worker advised us to come here cuz Lili's bistro was closed. We had street tacos: I had beef tongue (lengua) & pork stomach (buche). The beef tongue was tender and delicious, I will definitely come back for these. The carnitas & carne asada were also yummy. But the pleasant surprise was the fresh bakery inside the restaurant, it's operated independent of the bar/restaurant and cash only. So good, I got a selection of 5 pastries and a roll. I don't know their names but each was delicious, not too sweet. I love bakeries and this is my favorite bakery in the Silverthorne & Dillon area. Will definitely come back to try more.

Glenda J.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican food in a basic no frills eatery. Great service. Soup was a little on the salty side and the vegetables were undercooked. A little on the pricey side but it appears it's the case throughout Breckenridge and the surrounding towns.
google avatar

Daniel J.

Yelp
I purchased a restaurant.com dining certificate for use at this restaurant ($6 for a $15 dining credit, minimum $45 purchase). The owner would not accept the certificate, stating that he did not know how the restaurant got on the site. Well, however it happened, this served as free advertising for the restaurant, while getting us to spend $45 (actually our bill came to $73 after taxes). The food was delicious, but I'm taking two stars away because of what I believe was misleading advertising on the part of either the restaurant or restaurant.com. Bottom line, go ahead and eat here because the food is good, but DO NOT purchase the bogus restaurant.com discount certificate because they won't accept it.
google avatar

Michael V.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Dillon. Great tacos at reasonable prices. Oh - the margaritas are amazing. Maybe skip the house and get the patrón though.

Ariel A.

Yelp
Absolutely disgusting, do not eat here! When we first walked in and found the place deserted and not clean that should have been our first clue. I ordered enchiladas with ground beef. They were spit the food right back into your plate disgusting. No seasoning and the meat was not even fully cooked. My husbands Barbacoa burrito was not much better. I mentioned to the waitress 2x that my meal was gross to which she walked away the first time and the second time just said "oh". Poor service and absolutely disgusting food.
google avatar

Asko B.

Yelp
What an amazing place. Tacos were unbelievable!!! If you are in the area and are creating tacos, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!!
google avatar

Robin S.

Yelp
Based on Yelp ratings, I really expected a good meal. Fajitas were rubbery, the margarita wasn't good (it's hard to mess up that), it took a couple of trips to get our order right-- not very responsive service. I wish I chosen somewhere else to eat.
google avatar

Kim V.

Yelp
Great meal. Great service. There is an area with items from a panadería and we were able to take home some tasty pastries for dessert and the next morning's breakfast. We loved the fact that it was above the Elevation bowling alley and we went and had some fun there too. Great night out!
google avatar

Dennis O.

Yelp
First impressions are the free chips and salsa and the salsa was excellent. My fajitas were ok, not seasoned much, but the beans, rice, and guacamole were excellent. My wife really liked her enchiladas.
google avatar

Kara H.

Yelp
This was a nice mom & pop type of place with AMAZING service! The staff was very attentive and friendly. The house marg was really good but pay the little extra to go with the Patron! It's worth it. The guacamole was good and the steak tacos were delicious and very filling. Great option!
