I've never had a bad experience here. Driving from Wisconsin to Oregon and made the trip extra long just to come eat, drink and be merry at Tacos Tequila Whiskey! Serrano marg? Yes, among other beverages. Queso fundido? Yes. Assortment of tacos? The best I've ever had. Update: they made us churros for coming all that way just to eat at their establishment!

Some of the best food you can get in Denver. Don’t miss the queso, the guac, or the unique agave fried chicken tacos. The staff is wonderful—Traci was a fantastic server with phenomenal service. We’ve lived here over 20 years…This place is must-visit!

Google
Fantastic Restaurant Week experience! TTW had great food and great service. The appetizers were staggered and tasted so good. We got the gringo (spicy) queso and Brussel sprouts. Taco wise- things were unbelievable! Fantastic quesobirria and barbacoa tacos, along with stellar veggie tacos! Lastly, the tres leches and sopapilla were delicious caps to the meal! Highly recommend stopping by TTW for a meal!

As the main ingredient being grease in my chorizo breakfast burrito I will not be back. It dripped all over me and my car. For $9 a burrito you could at least drain the grease from the chorizo before wrapping it up. It soaked through 5 napkins and the bag and dripped all over my pants, bag, and passenger seat. I do not recommend going on this food adventure before work or if you have to be anywhere important.

Google
I honestly loved this place! The service and atmosphere were 10 out of 10 amazing. I got the drink of the day which was a grilled pineapple margarita which I thought was so fun. Everything is a good price and the service is really quick. Our waitress was super attentive and just was amazing overall. Some of the tacos tasted better than the others, as I kind of expected they would, and I wouldn’t order the chicken skin appetizer again if I were to go back. For parking, we parked on the street and walked in, which ended up being free but I could see it being a bit more of an issue on a busier/weekend type of evening. Overall, I would recommend 100%.

Google
Love this place. The food is amazing and unique, drinks are awesome. Inside is a bit loud, but if you sit outside it really comes together. Be ready to try a bit of everything and Definitely have the chicharones!

Google
As a long time fan of TTW for lunch/dinner, I must say I was very satisfied with their breakfast burrito at their highlands location. A bit pricey, especially relative to some nearby options on federal, but worth it. I would definitely recommend adding a salsa as you need some acid to cut through some of the richness of meat/eggs. Maybe one day they’ll even serve micheladas.

Google
One of my favorite taco spots! Always love stopping by here and my friends were also really happy with their meals. They had never been to this restaurant and they plan to come back. They enjoyed their meal so much!

Yelp
Ask for Kevin, he hooks it up and the best server I've had in a long time. Great food and drinks and especially service

Yelp
Think I've reviewed it before, but whatever. This place is insanely good and has a great HH menu too! Their tacos on hh are "sliders" and they're sooooo good. The nachos on happy hour were also super good, haven't had these before but the cheese was layered so well and every chip had a delicious bite - the Key to good nachos! The sliders were reaaaaaalllyyyy good. Make sure you get the birria slider, it's to die for! Service is always great and quick here! I get the purist margaritas, it's super super fresh and not too sweet at all! Love it!

Yelp
We went last weekend with our family and had tacos, queso, and margs. Our server was super nice. The watermelon margarita sounded really good on the board but I feel like flavor wise it fell a little flat and the seasoning on the rim was weird. It wasn't just tajin, it was like tajin, salt, oregano and something else. It was strange. We got the chorizo queso with garlic to share for the table. It came out hot and bubbly. It was probably my favorite part of the meal. It was melty, it was yummy, it was crispy from the little cast iron pan and the garlic addition was perfect. It had a little heat but not bad. Everyone at the table got the queso a la plancha taco and I was disappointed with this one. It came in two corn tortillas and it's supposed to be just like fried cheese on the taco topped with guac and salsa. There was minimal fried cheese and SO much guac. I had a shrimp taco which felt flavorless and an asada taco which felt overfilled. My husband loved the birria. I had a bite and it was delicious!!

Yelp
Excellent happy hour spot! Big thanks to Yelp for helping me find this place after landing in Denver--I wanted something quick but still good, and this totally hit the mark. The service was outstanding! Tracey, the bartender, took great care of us--she gave solid recommendations and made some really good drinks. Happy Hour sliders are a must try! Tacos are on point--we tried the Carnitas and Asada steak! And the margaritas were great as well! So glad we stumbled on this little neighborhood gem!

Yelp
So this came as a pleasant surprise! When traveling through the airport in Denver, and you have a layover, we have all aimlessly looked for a place to either have a snack, lunch or dinner. I took a gamble on this place. This place did not disappoint. I had the Carnitas taco and black beans, was seriously hesitant because there is no way you're going to get good tacos in an airport. Do yourself a favor and try this place. If you're ever lucky to be in terminal A- it's down at the end of the terminal around A18. I didn't wanna commit on a combo so I just got one taco and a side of black beans, that was $10! So now I'm thinking I should've got the two tacos combo, lol. Anyways, give this place a try it was truly delicious. It may be a bit confusing because there is a bar restaurant right next-door to it so soon as you pass the bar, you'll see the restaurant on the other side. You're welcome!

Yelp
Our favorite taco place in Denver! We love going for happy hour because they have some different yummy apps (nachos), always get the spicy marg, and end with a bunch of tacos. Mushroom, fish & beer, shrimp, and birria are my absolute favorites. Also always have to end with the churros! Can't wait to sit out on the patio this summer!
google avatar

Yelp
Been curious about this place for awhile and I'm so glad we stopped to try! We tried the nachos that were on the happy hour menu and there were layers of flavors while the nachos were actually super crispy and not stale at all! We also tried the tacos and every single one I tried were so tasty!! I can't remember the name but the one with a fatty pork meat was my favorite. Everything melts in your mouth!! Wonderful place. Would love to try stuff from their brunch menu and non-taco items (which might be hard cuz now that I know the taste it'll be too tempting)

Yelp
Sheesh what a good breakfast burrito! Disclaimer: this is just for the breakfast burritos available 7:30-11am. These things bang. They've quickly become my go-to and have to be my favorite in Denver. These are well made, and most notably not overly greasy. The carnitas is so flavorful and they load it up. They use tater tots for the potato element and it works so well. You gotta pay for the salsa but the Diablo is 10/10. Already ready to go back.

Yelp
Our go to taco date night! My boyfriend and I have been coming here for years and never had a bad experience. From the service to the food, everything is amazing!

Yelp
I had no idea until recently that the other TTW location closed down. Bummer! I actually enjoyed my experience at the Highlands location more than I did the first time, which was a pleasant surprise. Cocktails are strong (got a Serrano Marg & Pinche Paloma) - would come back just for those! They have a ton of high-end tequilas and mezcals, it seems. On top of their incredlble Queso Gringo, I ordered 3 tacos: hongos, quesobirria, and pork belly pastor. Been trying to perfect my order as time goes on. Would definitely get the hongos & quesobirria again, switching out the third taco for something different. They're all filling either way. Still have yet to come here for happy hour!

Yelp
The food was amazing, Kevin provided the best service I'v ever had, and the ambiance was top notch. I'll keep coming back for sure!

Yelp
so happy to have them at the airport. their york location used to be my favorite restaurant in denver. they have the cilantro lime soda and all the tacos and appetizers we've come to love over the years. bravo! order at the counter and sit at the bar. the tables behind are for elway's, not tacos :-) .
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
Delicious spot for tacos! Somewhat of a small space but that adds to the atmosphere. I had 2 Birria tacos and a carnitas and it was delicious. Our server was extremely attentive and we were able to use the Denver Passbook for a great BOGO deal.

Colleen S.

Yelp
Really like this place at DIA. Very good food, drinks are excellent, don't mind boarding our plane feeling happy! Staff is great. We've come here twice and seek it out when we're in DIA. .

Yelp
You typically can't go wrong with chips and guacamole, but these guys managed it. Stopped in before my flight out of DEN and got a drink, chips and guacamole. The ambiance was very blasé, the chips tasted like a cardboard box and the guacamole tasted like something that came out of a tube. I will not be coming back here, like ever. I'd rather eat a wrapped sandwich from one of the airport news stands.
google avatar

Cole S.

Yelp
We have been here many times and love it! Totally forgot to take pictures of the tacos but we got chips and salsa. If you don't line extremely hot salsa, don't even bother trying the salsa labeled as hot because it's very hot. We got the spicy tuna, Camarones a la Diabla, Birria, and estilo abril tacos. All of them are very delicious. Service is great and fast. Vibes are good, would recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Despite it being a busy Tuesday night, got a table right away! Our waitress was friendly with great suggestions. The queso was the best part of the dinner, made with melted cheese and packed with chorizo! Get this!!! I had the shrimp taco and the pork belly taco both of which were good but not great. The pork belly was not super flavorful. If you are in here go for the apps and there unique margaritas, would go elsewhere for tacos.

Yelp
What an amazing place! The food is very, very good, this was our first visit and guarantee it will not be our last. The tacos were all made of fresh high-quality ingredients and very tasty. While the pork belly al Pastor was a little disappointing, the other tacos, such as the spicy tuna, and the shrimp taco more than made up for it the service is beyond good, there aren't enough positive words to describe it. The wait staff is amazing, friendly, attentive, and very helpful. We had multiple members of management as well stop by our table and ask what was our favorite taco was. The ambience is also awesome, lots of natural light and cool decor. The spot not only has good food, but is run by good humans highly recommend!

Yelp
Really good Breakfast Burrito with cherizo, pablano pepper, corn, eggs of course...sure good. And Mex Coke. I'll be back!

Yelp
Came here for a quick bite a couple years ago while visiting town. I love tacos and margs and wanted to to try something new. I think we arrived in time for happy hour- it was cold out, probably late October/early November but we sat at the screened in porch area. I got a spicy marg as usual and split a plate of tacos. From what I remember, this was a decent spot, nice decor/atmosphere. Good place for a quick bite. Probably a little livelier later in the evening, but I'd come back if I were in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious Tacos! They have 3 veg options that have so much flavor but they are the perfect size and they are not overpriced at all! They have chips and queso and the cheese is amazing! You can sit outside or inside. The music is pretty loud so the patio is best and it's heated. I love that their menus are reusable! They gave us a complimentary churro With Mexican chocolate and it was amazing! Our server was super attentive! Heavily recommend this spot :)
google avatar

Benjamin N.

Yelp
Amazing good, drinks are so bad that I gave up. Seriously, true authentic tacos that you will enjoy and we would always want to come here but drinks are so bad that they better off not offering any. It's not one time thing, it's always :)

Kacey B.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour and loved it. Ordered the happy hour enchiladas and popcorn shrimp. Both were delicious and I could've eaten them again easily. We also ordered a few different taco options which we also greatly enjoyed. Wasn't too into the pollo flavor. The Ahi though!! The margaritas were also well made and great price at happy hour. Thanks for the good vibes. & Loved the Halloween decorations!

Andrew Y.

Yelp
We are very fortunate to have this restaurant in the Highlands! The shrimp tacos and tuna tacosare some of the best I've had. What a great local hangout!
google avatar

Brian N.

Yelp
Came for the happy hour margaritas (daily from 3-6) and stayed for the queso, tacos, and slider. Smaller restaurant, but there is also a small patio seating area. We loved the queso fundido al tequila. It was very very cheesy and very very tasty; came out piping hot on a cast iron skillet. We had several tacos from the main many and also orders margaritas off the happy hour menu. I did also like the chipotle shrimp slider. Service was excellent! Food and drinks came out relatively fast. Of note, there is a 5% "kitchen love" added to the tab. Not a big deal for us since service was good anyways. There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant, but it is shared with other businesses. There are lots of parallel parking, so plan ahead in case you need a few extra minutes to find parking. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Food was amazing! Loved the patio, wait staff were attentive and friendly. Loved the ambience, clean.

Yelp
So, let's call this a "Bonus Information Review." I spend a LOT of time reviewing places everywhere, and my last visit needs an...addendum. I have posted pics of the queso. The nachos are ridiculously good. If you are lucky to get a bar seat, you are happy. The staff is on point, and their teamwork is transparent and awesome. Good HH specials. Great background music. ETC. Blah blah blah, yada yada yada (because I LOVE this place and always say great things about EVERY great visit). But why the addendum? Because wife and I just went in because we had a Queso Itch. You don't get those? Weird. ANYWAY, we had the Queso Itch, and the best place for queso in the city is at this place (get the Molcajete salsa with it...trust me). But, that is not the kicker. I love, love, LOVE the Diablo Hot Sauce. I got a very large portion of that sauce before I left (THANKS, by the way). It has existed in my fridge for the last week. It is, sadly, almost gone. Not only is the Diablo Hot Sauce my favorite hot sauce in Denver onsite at Tacos, but I have found out in the last week that it goes with EVERYTHING at home. I literally have tried it with every type of dish this week...and it works splendidly. Yes, I just busted out the word "splendidly." That is important. Bar seating, typical indoor seating with both individual tables and "group/community" seating (which is fun), and a cool heated outdoor area if you can't score the bar. No new pic today, but I think I already covered it in previous reviews. I definitely recommend. I will definitely see you there. And I definitely need to get more Diablo Hot Sauce.
google avatar

Yelp
A great taco spot in Denver! I love their chips and salsa and the queso was amazing. They have tons of vegetarian and pescatarian options which is perfect for me. The service was quick and most of the time I am able to get a table without too much of a wait.
google avatar

Yelp
So tasty I would highly recommend it. And they are so nice to the kids. YUM! Happy hour is a great!

Yelp
Great tacos, drinks, & happy hour! TTW had been on my list of places to try for far too long, but I finally got around to trying it! We happened to stop in during their all-day happy hour on Monday, so we got to enjoy discounted drinks - like the coin margarita & the blackberry pinche soda - and discounted apps - like the pile of nachos. We also obviously had to try their unique salsas - pictured is the molcajete (smoky & delicious!), the el diablo (super spicy), & tomatillo (also a bit spicy). And last but not least, their tacos: we got the pollo agave (nothing better than fried chicken), queso birria, camarones a la parilla, the Fish N beer (named after their sister restaurant), and the Mahi Molcajete - all so delicious!! Overall good food + drinks at TTW!
google avatar

Jeanne-Marie A.

Yelp
Top favorite spot for street tacos in Denver! We ordered an assortment of tacos, the pork belly and beer/fish being our favorite. Service was friendly, lemonade was fresh, and vibe was enjoyable. The volume was a little loud, but appropriate for a busy Saturday night. Nice variety of salsas!
google avatar

Thao D.

Yelp
I visited for the first time Monday with some friends. They actually have an all day happy hour on Mondays which was really cool! The ambiance of the restaurant was very casual but low key had me feeling like I was at a bar at times because of the music (not complaining about it at all) it was a very fun atmosphere. The service was very attentive and we got checked on often and never had to waive down any staff which is always nice. Food wise this is what we ordered: HAPPY HOUR MENU (Not pictured) -Chipotle Shrimp Slider (my friend ordered this a said it was too much batter for her) -Pinche Tots -Paloma (this was very delicious! Not too strong or too sweet!) -Signature Marg (this tasted like a cup of tequila over ice, which personally I love strong drinks) REGULAR MENU -Chicharrones (these were delicious! Nice and crispy) -Street Tacos (Pictured): Asada, Quesobirria, Spicy Tuna, Camarones a la Diabla, Pork Belly, Al Pastor I'm already craving these tacos again! Will definitely be back asap! My favorites were the spicy tuna and the shrimp taco! The shrimp taco had this super spicy mango sauce on top that was so good!
google avatar

Rin L.

Yelp
Im not sure if the chips was supposed to be stale or not. The Avocado cream salsas has no specific flavor and the habanero was like dessert. A little bit too sweet. Some of the tacos were too fatty for my taste. Overall, it was okay. There are other better tacos.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
The service here was excellent! Matt helped us navigate the menu as it was our first time there. He made great suggestions for salsa flavors and dessert. We started with the tater tots and they were delicious. I got the taco estilo abril, which was my favorite. The fish taco was also good with a big serving of fish. Lastly, I got the walnut chorizo taco which I didn't like as much as it was a little too salty. For dessert the tres leches was my favorite. Moist and delicious. The churros were good but a little too sugary for my taste and I put too much of the chocolate sauce on. My friend absolutely loved them though. Overall great experience.
google avatar

Riley L.

Yelp
Tacos Tequila Whiskey is my go to in Denver! I always start with the tres salsas and a Paloma. The tuna taco is my favorite and I try something new with it each time. There are no bad choices here! My partner is a vegetarian and he has plenty of options as well. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place doesn't look like much when you walk past, but it is fun and lively inside. A small restaurant only holding about 55 people. It has a little bar and some high tops plus a heated patio. The service was impeccable! Our server, I wish I had remembered her name, was funny and engaging. She was also very knowledgeable about the menu. We eat a lot of tacos, so we're pretty picky about what we get and I have to say the tacos here were pretty good. The queso, however, was awesome! Get the fundito! The menu had lots of other options as well, including salads and dishes, but the majority of it were street tacos. We were with friends and slopped down a couple of margaritas while eating. Margarita menu was very good and they also had house drinks as well. Although just a bit pricey on the drink menu. Recommendations for the restaurant: 1. A couple of the tacos were a bit dry. Not terrible but maybe because I'm not a big fan of the double stacked tortillas. Maybe ask before serving it that way? 2. The fundito was delicious but too small for four. It left us wanting more! 3. Your chips are amazing but no house salsa? That should be a given. All in all, if you're in the area, this is a great spot to stop. I'd recommend it for locals but not sure if I'd make the drive again.

Jed G.

Yelp
Best breakfast burrito I've had in Denver. I got the carnitas and my gf got a Poblano corn one called the rajas. Eggs were evenly spread out throughout the breakfast burrito which not a lot of places get right. Every bite was evenhanded in ingredients. Card only. Will be back
google avatar

Purvi M.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Everything from the vibe, the music selection, to food quality is great. We went with 7 people and ordered every taco on the menu. The universal hits include: taco estilo abril (corn), ahi tuna, shrimp, carnitas, barbacoa, and fried chicken. Queso fundido with chorizo (and without) were delicious. The chips and guacamole are done well. Serrano margs are highly recommended. Pork belly and queso a la plancha were universally disliked by the whole group. We'll definitely be back and are excited to call this a neighborhood spot.

Yelp
Wanted to update anyone reading that the hidden fee has been bumped from 4% to 5%. Food is still great but just sharing that info.
google avatar

Audrey O.

Yelp
Just came here for takeout from a long day at the zoo and biking and let me just say DANG. Here is our ranking of most delicious: 1. Quesobirria: Large, decadent, birria flavor with depth. You can tell the goat was slow cooked for hours and the taco is not shy in its portions. 2. Carnitas: So tender with this great citrus profile and pickled onions. 10/10 recommend. Was a succulent bite each time. 3. Asada: The steak was very tender, not as bright in terms of flavor and depth as the above two, but still bomb. You can taste the char grill on the steak which you know is always good. 4. Al Pastor: Pineapple salsa was great but the pork was on the dry side. The least favorite of the four. Now I will stop writing and enter into my blissful food coma.

Yelp
Came for our 1 year anniversary!! Delicious tacos! Pretty great HH!Matt was a kick ass server! Will most definitely be back! Tacos were way good l, so good I didn't take a pic before devouring!!! Will most definitely be back and highly recommend!!

Yelp
I recently picked up a to go order from her for a friend who just had a baby and was craving it. I ordered some for myself too, and I was not disappointed! I loved their fish tacos and you have to try the churros with some chocolate sauce. The order was ready promptly and the staff was helpful! I will definitely be back!

Belladonna T.

Yelp
Tacos were a little disappointing for the price. Coulda got something better somewhere cheaper. Great ambiance. Service was okay.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
Came here because we had the Eat & Drink Denver play pass. Pass said with purchase of any 3 tacos you receive a free appetizer. Fine print says discount up to $11. We ordered an appetizer that was $12. Our waiter and manager both said their system does not allow a dollar discount. We must order something was $11 or under or coupon is not valid. We have used these coupons all over Denver and this is the first time this has happened. The manager was unapologetic and very blatant with no discussion. They told us we can come back another time to use the coupon. This was our first experience and will not be back to use our coupon. The managers name was Mikael (spelling).
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
Wide range of delicious tacos to choose from, some being more traditional, while others are more unique. I stopped in on Cinco de Mayo to grab Margarita and some tacos and made it just in time for happy hour! Includes a great amount of food & drink specials. I got a serrano margarita with a nice kick and a chorizo sloppy joe slider! The tacos weren't on special and I think they are a bit expensive for street tacos, but they did have a lot of uniqueness in them. They were a great small meal but I would definitely return for more of their HH specials!
google avatar

Victoria M.

Yelp
Updating my review from a 4 to a 5. I love this place so much and literally no other taco place compares!!! They have the BEST tacos in all of Denver. I still love to get the veggie tacos because they all have such unique flavors. I love all meats but I just love their veggie tacos! They also have amazing brussel sprouts and their churros are to die for! Oh yeah and $5 rose on tap for happy hour!
google avatar

Dan L.

Yelp
We had a few hours to spare between shifts at our jobs. So we decided to come and get a drink and a few tacos! The staff was very friendly and helpful! ... unfortunately we thought the tacos were sub par. We thought they were under seasoned, and overall not our favorite. The drinks were great though and the staff was very kind! Dan & Lexi

Jason S.

Yelp
The Denver airport version of this place sucks. Aside from extremely overpriced food (I paid over $30 for two tiny tacos, a scoop of some kind of right-out-of-the-can black bean paste and chips and guacamole that were bland), the service was terrible. I ordered, the guy that took my order sat me down at their counter, then apparently forgot I was there. My food sat in a box on the other side of the restaurant for another 15 minutes until I asked them if they forgot about me. By the time I got it, it was cold and I was late for my flight. They seemed to be overstaffed and not particularly busy, either.
google avatar

Yelp
If going on a weekend evening be prepared to wait, they do not take reservations and operate on first come first serve. My only complaint is having minimal bar (or any general area) room to serve customers while they wait. Tacos are great and love the vegetarian creations they always have. I had the Walnut Chorizo street taco last time which was interesting and very tasty.
