Fish Stew in Chinatown, Roman Pizza on St-Zotique, and Other Montreal Restaurant Openings in January 2022 | Eater Montreal

"Known for French fry–topped tacos, this taqueria founded by Victor Soto has expanded to a new Crescent Street location near Concordia University, taking over a former Lloydie’s outpost and offering the same menu as its other branches—expect tacos with steak, chorizo, and shrimp and a selection of ceviche options." - Valerie Silva

Had a really nice lunch here. Their tacos are pretty good. Decent nachos with guac. The service was good too. The atmosphere is ok.

I tried this restaurant with a friend of mine for lunch. The ambiance is very good. Mexican songs are always fun to listen. The service was fast and professional. We ate only the tacos 🌮: shrimp, steak, beef, and chicken. I also took the hibiscus 🌺 juice. It's a lot to drink and I couldn't finish drinking it. The tacos are fresh, and definitely add those sauces in it to make it tangy and spicy. Squeeze a piece of lemon and enjoy the tacos.

Awesome food and great atmosphere. I loved the little pieces of art displayed and painted in the walls. The food was also really good and great value for money. Waiters were also super friendly. Would definitely go back.

Tacos campechanos were great very tasty and good portion size.. Agua de orchata was awful it was full of eyes and no flavor at all I will suggest not to add ice. Service was okay she came around only once to see what we needed.

This was my first time visiting Montreal, and I don’t speak a word of French. I stumbled upon this taco restaurant and decided to sit on the patio, my server was Hisa — best decision of the trip. The server was absolutely incredible: welcoming, attentive, and made me feel right at home despite the language gap. The tacos? Unreal. These weren’t your standard tourist tacos — they were authentic, full of rich, bold flavors that I’m still thinking about. I honestly didn’t even fully know what I ordered, but every bite was amazing. Drinks were top-notch, and the service couldn’t be beat. I’ve traveled a lot, but I don’t think I’ve ever been more satisfied with a spontaneous restaurant stop. Highly recommend — even if you don’t speak French, you’ll leave happy (and full)!

My husband and I love this place! The menu is kinda small, but everything on that menu is great. My husband is celiac and this place is one of the few truly celiac safe restaurants in the city. The decor and atmosphere is pretty amazing.

Why a mountain of french fries on top of the tacos? I couldn’t even taste the tacos properly because of the damn fries. That’s one thing I didn’t understand. Secondly, the ceviche was a little off…

We were visiting from Toronto and absolutely loved this place! We sat on the patio, had some drinks and ceviche, everything was amazing! A special shout out to our server Saray, she was phenomenal, extremely kind and attentive.

Yelp
As a Californian I have access to some great Mexican food, so I'll just say the tacos here were decent. The place had a great vibe, but don't sit inside expecting air conditioning. The service, however, was terrible. After taking my order and delivering my food that was the last we saw of our waiter. I had to go up and order my drinks and eventually had to go up to request my check.

Yelp
The food is good, a little bit weird that the tacos have fries on top but OK, I'm a huge fan of fries too. The aguachile also good, the only thing is the prices. It is quite expensive, the beer is also expensive. the ambiance is good, they have Mariachi on Fridays.

Yelp
I thought it would be better the more chances I gave it, but I'm out. Chicken tacos were mushy, the steak was as dry and as chewy as rubber. It's such a shame because it seems like it all works but they just can't cook the meat correctly. No thanks. I'll eat here if it's the only place open and Mandy's is closed (healthy option), or Olivia's Fried Chicken is closed (fried chicken sandwich). For this price point, I won't come back.

Yelp
Food- pretty good and I'd say 90% authentic. Tortillas not homemade, but still a nice corn flavor. An order of nachos and two tacos split between two people was enough Service- kind gentleman helping us out with any questions and very quick service to all who were dining in at the time Ambiance- extremely clean and nice decoration. They even had banda music playing like a real Mexican restaurant

Yelp
Amazing tacos with a good price and warm service. We ordered beef tongue, shrimp, chorizo and al pastor- they all were delicious! Margaritas were great too. Highly recommend this place!!!!! 2 minutes walk from Art museum where bistro looked boring- I'm so happy we walked to this gem!

Yelp
Wonderful Mexican food. We are from the Los Angeles area and did not expect to find good Mexican food. Boy we were wrong. We started with Guacamole and Chips. The Guacamole was great and the fresh tortilla chips were perfect. I had a Taco de Chorizo. Excellent and my wife had a "Taco de Steak": also very good. The service was quite good as well.

Yelp
The review is not about the food, it's about the owner, and not taking care of rattling pipes from the restaurant late into the night, keeping the tenants in the building awake, almost impossible to hear anything but... Knows of the problem and does nothing... offers no apology, and it's not the first time, running construction tools deep into the night, not caring about the community, sleeping children and people. Refuse to eat there and will tell everyone to go to the closer and better taco places who actual care about this neighborhood.

Yelp
A small new branch of the Tacos Victor empire, this location on Crescent has a couple dozen seats including a small bar. We tried the Al pastor nachos and they were *outstanding* crisp chips covered with cheese and freshly griddled meat, and accompanied by *six* sauces: hot red salsa, medium yellow salsa, mild green tomatillo salsa, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream, plus fresh lime wedges, wow! Fifteen dollars for all that goodness seemed fair to me. Has full bar but when we visited one dude was running the place solo and didn't have time to mix drinks or even pour a draft beer so I had a can, $10.

Yelp
I tried the beef tongue tacos which were excellent. They came with onions/fries on top and green and red salsas on the side. I also tried the green aguachile which was yummy as well. I ordered some tacos to go because they were that good. Definitely would come again.

Yelp
Expensive and salty. On a hot day, the inside space was very uncomfortable. The guacamole was good.

Yelp
Tacos were fresh tasting, good portion sizes. Good variety. Also very safe for celiac gluten free eating. Highly recommend. Great friendly staff as well.

Yelp
Food was so good I dug right in. Yummy stuff. Worth a visit and the price is super reasonable
