A College Student’s Guide to Campus Dining at Oregon State University | Eater Portland

"At Taco Vino in downtown Corvallis I enjoy tacos that highlight Pacific Northwestern ingredients and global flavors — examples include beef bulgogi short rib tacos topped with pickled veggies and Painted Hills skirt steak tacos with radish-lime-habanero pico and avocado puree — all wrapped in warm, handmade corn tortillas (100% gluten-free), with on-tap sangrias and local brews available; expect 15–30 minute waits during peak hours." - Mariah Botkin

We have a severely gluten intolerant member of our family who can't even eat an GF option at most restaurants due to cross contamination. It was nice to find this place that has a dedicated GF kitchen. They are also very conscientious about other food allergies, and the waitress was very patient and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this place for anyone, but especially those with gluten intolerant diets.

Taco Vino's specials are always amazing, and the pineapple teriyaki steelhead taco I ordered tonight was no exception. The Korean short rib taco was also great. The basic margarita is top notch. Servers were friendly and attentive. I docked a star for not knowing what to do with solo diners. I was told it was either the bar (noisy and crowded even at 3 p.m.) or a 2-top sandwiched next to the bar. I get that it's Friday, but I came in at an off hour to avoid taking up space during lunch or dinner, and there were plenty of tables.

Had a nice lunch. Tacos had good flavor and were interesting. Two of my tacos had huge chucks of fat in the meat, which was a bit disappointing considering all the effort that went into the prep. The server disappeared for a bit so I didn't have an opportunity to ask about it. Overall the food was fine and the service was ok. I probably would have rated our visit a 4 overall, but both the food and the service were more pretentious than what was actually delivered. I'll give it another try sometime.

This place is fantastic. The tacos are sold as singles so you can get a few different ones easily. I got the AL Pastor, The Skirt Steak and the Barbacoa. All were delicious. We also got the Queso Flambeado and I would go back for that all by itself. Our server, Cameron, was fast, polite and attentive. Great experience all around

Last year, on a terrific fall Tuesday in 2023, I picked up some excellent tacos for takeout from Taco Vino at 151 NW Monroe Ave, Corvallis, Oregon. Today, I enjoyed those tacos across the street in the park by the scenic Willamette River. As I scrolled through my images, I reminisced about the delightful experience I had while watching the golden sunset at Riverside Park on the corner of 1st Street in Corvallis, Oregon. I took a fantastic photo on my phone and promised to share it with my new friend, the chef. The flavors of the tacos were incredible, and the happiness I felt was ideally suited for enjoying the beautiful fall colors around me. I also fondly remember hanging out with my friend Mike, relishing the tasty food and my favorite beer, Apricot by Pyramid—a delicious, fruity choice. The vibrant autumn views along the Willamette River contributed to the peaceful atmosphere. I want to compliment the chef, who is the owner of Taco Vino. It’s a fantastic place with awesome and delicious food! I think it’s a great spot to visit, and I absolutely loved the food! ❤️

I loved all of the varieties of tacos offered at Taco Vino! I had the duck and the babacoa tacos. My sister had the fish and chicken tacos, and my mom absolutely loved the qaucamole! I particularly liked the Ginger & Cardamom Margarita. They offer black beans but no rice. I think they might want to rethink this one. It's easy to make a Cilantro & Lime Rice and simply place it on the specials menu. Lol I suggest giving this cute little restaurant/ bar a try!

Tacos were well-presented and tasty. As were the chips. Can’t say the same for the mushy beet salad, though. One friendly server gave me two samples of hot sauce. Our main server must’ve been having an off day, she was quite rude and it seemed we were being given special treatment compared to the other patrons.
