Love the lights at Tad. Majority of all my son's football games were at Tad except 2. Stadium is very roomy and clean. Only thing I wish they accept cash.

The farmers market is a great place to go but there isn’t much seating to rest. For someone with back& hip issues there should be places to go and sit down. Go in the morning in the summer because there is absolutely no shade.

It was a great place to start and finish the Turkey Race. Plenty of bathrooms, and a nice track to end the race.

Tad Gormley has been a staple of the athletics community in Nola for many years. The track is needing a little paint and repairs, but over all it’s in great shape. I was recently there for the Newman invitational track meet. We had a great night and our school did very well. Go Saints!

Local sports stadium used for high school football games. Also home to UNO & Tulane track and field teams. Built in the mid 1930's. Has hosted Olympic Trials

Lighting is terrible outside of the stadium at night. Pitchblack, so bring a flashlight.

Yelp
Good call, John. Tad Gormley deserves a listing and reviews. I LOVE the WPA reliefs that surround the stadium and the vintage touches that still abound in this stadium. I've attended HS football games and the US track & field competition here. And John is correct that the seats are not super comfy; this is why my Mom has a stash of stadium cushions, I guess. However the seats are well spaced so there's plenty of room to pass by others. Back in the day there used to be concerts here. I really wish they would do that again, because that would be awesome. If you have the chance to go to an event here, go just tour the venue.

Yelp
Tad Gormley is the premier venue for prep football in New Orleans. There are many other stadiums where you are likely to watch a high school game, but there is only one Tad Gormley. This is the stadium where I attended many football games when I was in high school. I was able to attend as both a fan and a player so I got to see many unique things about this stadium. As a fan I liked the large amount of comfortable seating. OK, that is a lie, the seats are hard metal that will make your butt fall asleep after only a brief period of time. When it is cold, your butt is not only asleep, it is freezing. If you come here often, I recommend one of those cushiony stadium seats, preferably one with your school's logo. There are concession areas and bathrooms on each side of the stadium so you don't need to mingle with the opposing team's fans, unless you want to. This helps prevent all sorts of silly arguments between football fanatics, especially grandparents of players. Once the canes start swinging, look out. As a player, the roar of the crowd was always motivation even if I was just headed to the Gatorade table. The view from the sidelines was always unique as it was surprisingly difficult to pick anyone out in the crowd. But pick you out, they could. I will never forget seeing friends or family after the game and having to endure their questions about why I held my helmet a certain way, or why I picked the red Gatorade over the orange. It was all a bit stressful. The most amazing event I experienced here was the time my team scored a victory and it marked some astronomical number of victories for our head coach. You would have thought we had one the Super Bowl except that we were in high school and not being paid exorbitant sums of money. OK, enough reminiscing.

Yelp
I can't even begin to count the hours spend here in high school. I may never really have followed sports but it's a social event to go to the football games with your peers. Like Jen I love the reliefs here. They give it a timeless feel, a reminder of generations of young men playing on this field. And John is spot on about the metal seats. I usually either brought a cushion or spent the time standing with other students. Times may have changed and it may have been more than a decade since I cheered on my high school team but the students still gather to cheer their teams to victory.
