From the owners of Okaeri, comes Tadaima. This is Taidaima's second location - the first one being in the Mission. This location was previously 6 Tables (same owners but brunch), and probably not as much revenue coming in, so they closed 6 Tables and reopened as Tadaima's second location.
Cute cafe-style with a few seatings available. Popular for their Japanese sando's and matcha lattes, they also offer musubi and onigiri's. There is both sweet and savory sando. My colleague and I did a pick up and ate inside, since we were on a time crunch for lunch. It was a good idea, as it got crowded inside the cafe during prime time.
We had the chicken filet karaage sando, [pork] tonkatsu with pineapple sando, and mixed fruit sando.
Chicken Filet Karaage Sando was my favorite. It was fat, juicy, and filling. The deep fried chicken filet was sandwiched between lettuce, house sauce, and two fluffy milk bread.
The tonkatsu was deep fried japanese pork cutlet, with fresh pineapple, and red cabbage. I found the sandwich a little tough and hard to put my mouth over (lol), and the pineapple was overwhelming the sandwich. It was still good, but not as good as the chicken.
The mixed fruit sando was good, as the fruits were sweet and the sandwich was filled with sweet cream, but there was only 1 piece of variation of fruit for the sandwich, with only 4 pieces altogether. For the price, it was not worth it.
I also got the matcha latte w/ strawberry cream. The strawberry cream almost tasted a bit floral to me. It was good, but a bit watered down for matcha. Not something I'd drive out to, but something I'd pop in to get if I was in the area.
