Consistently delicious food. Everything I've had is great; I especially love the frozen yogurt and the shawarma wrap. Closed on Sundays!

Tahina is an absolute gem when it comes to delicious food! Every bite is packed with flavor, and the quality is outstanding. Their menu is well-crafted, offering some of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. The customer service is just as impressive—friendly, quick, and attentive. The only downside is that there’s no seating available, so it’s more of a takeout or grab-and-go spot. However, the incredible taste of the food and the top-notch service make up for it. If you’re looking for a place with amazing food and excellent service, Tahina is the spot. I’d give both food and customer service a solid 10/10! Highly recommend!

This is my favorite to-go spot for lunch. Parking can be difficult at times in this area, but their spot is right next to the door so it makes for a quick pickup if you order ahead. Healthy and delicious food. I recommend the tahina bowl or the chicken plate.

This is a great little spot with delicious food. I got the chicken shawarma plate with labane and fries which come with pita and a side salad. For the sauces I got their hot sauce and their cilantro garlic sauce? (Sorry I forgot the exact name but it’s a great combo if you order the fries as a side.) My lady ordered the lamb/beef combo plate with hummus, and the quinoa side salad. The portions are actually worth the price unlike the chain Mediterranean spots that are all rice and no meat. Their pita is definitely unlike anything I’ve tried at other places, it’s light, fluffy, and just addicting! Their drink selection is vast too! I recommend the blue can juices they just complement the meal so well. Last but certainly not least, they have the Dubai chocolate! Not a brick but just enough to enjoy yourself post meal. The staff were very nice even though you could tell they were busy with online orders! We will definitely be back to try their other menu items :)

The food is absolutely delicious! You can’t go wrong with anything here and all of it is fresh and filling. The chicken shawarma plate is my GO TO order and it never fails to amaze me. I highly recommend eating here for lunch or dinner!

My first time, I called and placed a pickup order which was very easy. One thing I really appreciated was that when I got home the food didn't look sloppy and just thrown together. Wasnt a big fan of hummus but they made me like it 🙃 and I'm not mad. My order was the lentils soup (could have used a little more season but in it's served form still great and it would order again) salmon skewers plater(kinda skinny portion but still good and i would order again), and the chicken shawarma plater

Overview: Fast, delicious Mediterranean food, "to-go" atmosphere but restaurant quality food ---- Beef Shawarma Plate $17 - sides I chose were eggplant dip and quinoa tabouli - flavors of everything were great - comes with saffron rice, small side salad, and pita Rolled Pistachio Baklava $5.85 - perfect crunch - good amount of pistachios - they had regular baklava available as well ---- Other notes: - street parking or the parking lot in the back - service was nice, friendly, and quick - dessert options like baklava located in front on where you order - ambiance is very "to-go" there isn't inside seating next to where you order - there's a couple outside seats - other inside seating are closer to the beanery and the coffee area - located inside the Alameda Marketplace alongside a couple other to-go restaurants, the grocery store, and coffee shop -- Overall: a great find in alameda for Mediterranean food, flavors of both the food and desserts were yummy, I really like the eggplant dip and the baklava

I decided to check out Tahina and order ahead for takeout when I was in Alameda; the store is located inside of a marketplace. I ordered the tahina bowl, pomegranate lemonade, and halwa, which were ready a little earlier than the scheduled pickup time based on the email notification I received. Unfortunately since I was going home via bus and walking, on the way, the lid of the bowl got slightly loose, so some of the tahini sauce (that's what it tasted like to me, even though it's called "tahina" in the description) leaked out of the bowl and broke a hole in the bottom of the bag, so just be careful about transporting it carefully. Pomegranate lemonade: I unfortunately found the lemon part of it is overpowering so it was harder for me to pick out the flavor of the pomegranate. Aside from the color being different, it mostly just tasted like lemonade. Tahina bowl: The vegan lamb does taste kind of like lamb, but maybe not worth a whole extra $8. I liked the saffron rice and tahini sauce though, so overall the food was savory and pretty tasty. Halwa: It had heavy sesame flavor, but I liked it especially since there was a lot of rose petals. Just be careful to not choke on the powdery parts and other tiny bits.

Food is good Service is not so good Ambience is all right it's inside the Grocery store so what more can you expect I ordered chicken plate and it took 35 mins to get my order because the cashier forgot to place my order after me paying for it and no apology or anything from them, I guess this is the new way of customer service

Stopped by the Alameda Marketplace and decided to try a couple items for dinner. Ordered the dip combo, beef & lamb wrap w/fries, and beef taco & chicken taco. Beef & lamb wrap with fries - ***** very tasty and flavorful. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside Beef taco & chicken taco - **** a nice variation of the street tacos Dip combo - **** should of picked up some chips Overall, everything was tasty and we'll be back for more. We asked for sauce, but were met with the limit of 2 sauce per person. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Sorry, I like my fries with the garlic sauce.

Friendly counter service with a few seat inside and more outdoor seating outside of Marketplace building. I picked up a beef wrap and IT WAS TO DIE FOR. The textures and flavors were perfect for my tastes. I can't wait to go back.

I was back in the area and had to stop by again. The service is always friendly, and your food comes out fast and flavorful. On two separate visits there was plenty of street parking. There was plenty of seating outside on the street. A nice urban ambiance. Come to Tahina whenever your in Alameda.

Came here on a Wednesday evening. They were open and there was a short line. Do note that they have very few dining spots, it's more of a take out spot. I sat outdoors on a small table. They have 2 small outdoor tables. Fries are well seasoned and very crispy! You do have to ask for ketchup though. Chicken shawarma was also very good. I had to save half for later.

Love this place! Everything is so delicious. Absolutely need to get the sauces (green and red). Everyone is always kind. Got the chicken wrap most recently and it was perfect. Located in the Marketplace. Lots of parking in the back.

Grateful for my friend who put me onto this place because I don't think I would have ever found it tucked away in this grocery store. This unassuming casual counter service lunch spot has such delicious and fresh wraps! Also quite sizable, I turned mine into two meals. The staff were very friendly and although there isn't any seating right near their counter there is seating outside and elsewhere in the building.

*This is for the Greek frozen yogurt* While I love it and get it almost every time I come here, the topping amount can be inconsistent. The last time I came here, one of the three frozen yogurts we ordered was completely melted. The staff fixed it, but it was weird that it was sent out to customers given how soupy it was. Will this stop me from getting more frozen yogurt? No... but I am just more aware that sometimes I will get more or less baklava crumbles depending on who is making it.

Tahina was amazing!! I've never loved Mediterranean food as much as I do now, and it's all because of them! The chicken cali bowl? AMAZING! The beef and lamb plate? also *chefs kiss* I physically could not stop myself from eating even though I was stuffed. The best part was that the food felt so fresh and light that I didn't feel crappy after.

I heard this was THE cava dupe of the Bay Area, and while it has some similarities, it is definitely not the same. Tahina feels a little healthier in my opinion! Tahina is located inside a market, and it gets relatively busy, but they prepare the food quickly. There is also a parking lot in the back. I got the tahini bowl and added chicken for a total of $17, and it was pretty good. i love the pickled veggies on top and the pepperoncinis on top is something I have yet to see at another mediterranean spot. The flavors were consistent and the chicken was well cooked. I liked how the pickled veggies gave a sour kick, and it was overall a solid meal.

I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. I love tahini, and their dishes highlight it beautifully. The fattoush with meat was one of the best meals I've had--so fresh and flavorful

OMG...I'll make this quick. A friend & I were wanting to grab some lunch & Yelp suggested this spot based on proximity. I ordered the beef shawarma & my friend ordered the chicken shawarma with a side of fries. Service was good, took a bit to get our order (a lot of folks there). We sat inside the marketplace & took the 1st bite... HOLY GOODNESS!!! So DAM* GOOD!!! I was a few bites in & was afraid the wrap was t going to be enough. I was wrong, thankfully I was satisfied with one half & was lucky enough to have the other half to eat later. Meat was flavorful & lean. Veggies fresh & crunchy. Sauces tangy & delicious. I'm going back and soon!!

After a great time at the White Elephant Sale, we popped in for lunch. Other yelpers pictures and posts looked really good. I went with the Cali bowl and loved how fresh everything was. Nice crispy lettuce & veggies and the hummus was super creamy. I did add some hot sauce since I like spice. Orders came up quickly and counter server was kind and patient. My friend had the Chicken Shwrama and really enjoyed it too. Parking is tight, especially on a rainy Saturday. We sat at the bar which was fine, it was clean.

This place gets busy during lunch, and I can see why. It's located on Park Street, so parking can be a pain. Tahina is located inside Alameda Marketplace, but they are located next to one of the entrances, so it's easy to find. I ordered a chicken Tahina bowl, which comes with saffron rice, hummus, spring mix, cucumber, tomato salad, sumac onion, pickled turnips, herbs, and Tahina sauce. Everything in my bowl tasted fresh and delicious. The chicken was flavorful and not dry. The only thing I didn't like was the saffron rice. I've had saffron rice before, but this tasted artificial. I can't describe it; it's almost metallic-like. I'll have to try again next time to see if it was a bad batch that day.

.*** DELICIOUS BOWL *** not just a BEAUTIFUL bowl of food it's one of my favorite lunch time meals. It's plentiful enuff for two people. It so goooooood the beef and lamb kebab they were super flavorful and tender. What's inside .... Saffron rice, hummus, organic spring mix, cucumber and tomato salad, sumac onions, pickles, herbs, tahina sauce OMG !!! You have to try it !! I ordered on Uber eats and it came package very nice and well sealed. PRICE: inexpensive SERVICE: good FOOD: EVERYTHING is DELICIOUS !

Today I ordered a chicken shawarma. The food was cold. The meat may have been from yesterday-it certainly wasn't today's. During lunch time maybe from 11am-1pm, they are busy with online and corporate orders. They had lots of people preparing these orders. Walk-ins face longer wait times and in my case today, subpar food. Advise you order online or go there around 2pm.

Absolutely delicious! I got the beef and lamb kebab plate and it was sooo filling. I will say though it is really hard to taste the lamb in it... I will try just the beef next time to compare the two. I loved the cucumber dip and the eggplant dips they are my go tos. The workers here were also so sweet in taking the time to explain items on the menu to my boyfriend!! My boyfriend got a bowl and added chicken to it. I personally would not opt for the chicken as it was a little dry but it was very flavorful. Great lunch spot or a quick grab and go food. Outside and indoor seating with a spacious parking lot.

This place is not super busy on a Saturday afternoon! My boyfriend and I were able to lap around the building and we were able to get her food pretty quickly after that. There is seating outside, but since it's getting colder, keep in mind that you might want to bring a jacket. The dolma was absolutely phenomenal, it's probably the best I've ever had in a very long time. They were juicy, but not in a soggy way. My Tio was so colorful and flavorful, I couldn't get enough of the rice, and I honestly wish there was more in it. They are very generous with the hummus and amount of lettuce. The falafel was also amazing, I truly wish they gave you at least 4 to 5 pieces instead of three. As for the chicken wrap, boyfriend said "for my Mexican compadres, the chicken Shawarma tasted like Al pastor with lettuce and tomatoes, not a bad combination". Give it a try!

went here around 6:45pm on a monday night. it was surprisingly inside a little supermarket and you just pay and order at the counter. you can also order online and pick it up since theres limited seating both indoors and outdoors. i got the chicken shawarma plate and asked to replace the salad with just rice. the base flavor is there but im not sure if they forgot or if its because of the replacement, but i realized after they put no sauce at all... so it was quite dry... their hummus is okay - not a lot of flavor. their fries and pita are good! i was just a little disappointed overall bc i heard good things about this place but maybe i should give it a try again... also, people do compare this to cava but i think cava has a diff vibe

First time here and definitely not my last! We placed a Togo order online and it was ready by the time we got there to pick it up! We had a Cali bowl, a shawarma plate, and the spicy hummus and pita! Every thing was so fresh and delicious I can't wait to come back! There is limited parking available since this spot is more of a "grab and go" style located in the market. I left my boyfriend in the car to circle the block while I ran in, but if you don't have a chauffeur like me then you will have to try your luck with street parking or a small lot across the street!

This place is honestly amazing. I've become a regular because the food, the vibe, and the service are consistently top-tier. The whole staff is friendly, but I have to shout out one of their employees, Lorrie, she's always welcoming, super helpful, and makes the ordering process effortless. Her energy and work ethic really stand out in the best way. She's a big part of why I keep coming back. Huge props to Lorrie and the rest of the team for keeping the experience this good every single time.

This is an overdue review as I eat here often and even had them cater my birthday party. I have never had a bad meal at Tahina. Every single item is fantastic! We especially love the Cilantro Hummus, Falafel Wrap (the pickled veggies are my favorite part), their fries are perfection and my partner loves the Lemon Chicken Soup! I only wish it were a full on sit down restaurant as its pretty much just take out only.

Tahina is always fresh and super tasty when I am craving Mediterranean. I have heard people compare this to Cava but I have never had Cava. Service is quick and the pick up times are accurate when ordered online. Depending on where you enter the plaza, it's either at the end of the hall from the parking lot or the first stall from the street. Located in the alameda marketplace, the ambiance is brightly lit with an open kitchen.

Food was so good and healthy! Loved this so much! It's my new favorite Greek restaurant as of recently. I'm glad I found this spot I highly recommend if you want savory hearty bowl

Tahina! Marry me now! Tahina has been saving me in more ways than they know. Oakland's dear Pomella is no more but thank the Goddesses above for Tahina! Their food is always fresh and flavorful. Their brand is clean and on point. I'm in love!

Came out to Alameda to give a friend a quick tour of Alameda. It was a beautiful fall day and we went to Crown beach and walked along the beach and picked up shells. We drove down Santa Clara to see the painted Ladies Victorian house and the lovely Grandicimos houses on Grand!! We were hungry and we wanted Mediterranean food and I wanted to take her up to Park Street so Yelp Recommended Tahina Fresh Food. This isn't a fancy sit down restaurant, it's a quick eats to go restaurant located in the Marketplace. We both ordered the Tahina Bowl with Salmon and it was delicious! There are a lot of tables to accommodate all the restaurants located in the Marketplace and it has a really cool vibe! I'd definitely recommend Tahina!

Tahina is a delightful Mediterranean spot inside the Marketplace and the cali bowl with added chicken was SO delicious! The salad had a colorful array of vegetables and also comes with their hummus! Excited to try out their shawarma plate next time!

One of my fave food joints in Alameda for sure! Everything is fresh and delicious. The sauces are great, and their pita bread is so good... generous portions and lots of meat. Workers are very kind as well.

We ordered three chicken shawarma sandwiches and one falafel sandwich. Apparently, when you order a sandwich here, they assume you want it in a pita pocket. The last time I ordered, the cashier asked whether I wanted a pita pocket or a wrap, which I appreciated. However, this time, the cashier (Maddie) didn't ask, and my order came as a pita pocket instead of a wrap. Pita pockets and wraps are two very different things, and most restaurants confirm your preference before finalizing the order. When I brought the untouched sandwich back and explained that I actually wanted a wrap, I was told that they couldn't do anything about it and that I would need to purchase another order if I wanted a replacement. The food itself is okay, but the service could definitely be improved. A little more attention to customer communication would make a big difference.

Reviewing a doordash order....ordered the spicy chicken schwarma...wondering why I've never eaten here. That was excellent...fresh veg, soft wrap and the chicken was seasoned perfectly...super moist all around and full of flavor... "I'll be back"

Tahina is located in Market Hall just beyond the Park street Bridge in Alameda. There is a parking lot behind the building. Tables are available for indoor dining which are kept clean continuously. There are also tables located outdoors. The Tahina servers were pleasant and attentive. The food was tasty and delicious.

Their food is good and prices are fair but I wish they would close the door because it makes the whole building freezing and miserable

There's a small (free) parking lot behind the marketplace which great for a quick lunchtime bite. No frills fast casual dining with great quality food. The saffron rice was tasty. We all loved the pickled beets in our bowls. Nice and filling portions. Can't wait to try other items. If you don't like sauce all over your food, you may need to ask on the side as it covered almost all items in the bowl. Service was fairly fast for a busy lunch time rush. We ordered and received our food within ten minutes. The only tricky part was finding a place to sit inside (raining outside).

this place is great! our friend who works in alameda recommended this place to us and it definitely was a great meal. it's located inside alameda marketplace among other small businesses, and there was general outdoor seating which was convenient. i really enjoyed my plate as it's easily customizable with sides and many yummy sauces to choose from. they also gave me extra sides of sauces which was awesome! definitely has a vibe similar to cava, and i'll be excited to come back here again!

First time here and I ordered the Crispy Cauliflower & Tahina Bowl with chicken add-on. The veggies were crisp and fresh: radish thinly sliced, cucumber, romaine and sumac onion. The perfect amount of feta crumbles and pita croutons with mouth watering lemon dressing. And the chicken very juicy, well seasoned, and deliciously charred. I had zero leftovers and it was the most satisfying lunch. The staff was helpful and efficient. The atmosphere has more to do with the entire food market because they only have a counter. They have nice outside sitting area that is clean and spacious. If you find yourself in Alameda you should definitely check out this place! Absolutely delicious.

We needed catering for a large celebration of life and the venue requested vegetarian only. Tahina suggested an excellent selection of food at a great price for the quality. We were so pleased with the visual presentation of the food that was delivered, and there were no leftovers! Everyone (over 200 people) raved about the food, and I will be going back there soon for lunch! Service was excellent, food was excellent, and I highly recommend them for any gathering. Despite my grudge with this place forgetting items multiple times, my wife & kids like it, so I've relented and we've recently re-incorporated it back into our rotation of dinner takeout spots. After my last review, they even reached out to apologize. Lo and behold, after a couple orders, once again they forget an item in my order--my baklava. As a wise man once said, "my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined." Yes, first world problems, I know, but immense outrage over botched takeout is just a hill I will forever die on.

They take forever to get your food ready. Literally ordered small fries and I had to wait 15 minutes for it to be done. And no there were not a lot of people in line. But their lemon chicken soup is the bomb. Very tasty and delicious.

I ordered a wrap from Tahina, but apparently that means a pita pocket here. Super confusing! If I wanted a pita, I would've ordered one -- a wrap and a pita pocket are not the same thing. The food was okay, but I was really disappointed because it wasn't what I expected. They should update their menu so customers actually know what they're getting. Definitely not ordering a "wrap" from here again.

I have come back to Tahina over and over again and they never disappoint. Their chicken shawarma is *packed* with flavor, and the harissa and dill sauces on top add the perfect amount of layers and complexity. Hummus is solidly reliable as well. And I LOVE that they have fluffy, soft pita instead of that thin flavorless stuff at so many other Mediterranean restaurants. I can't believe this is fast food!

Great spot for mediterranean food in Alameda! Tahina's located inside a Marketplace with a couple other vendors and a grocery store. Parking is also easy since they have a parking lot. They have bowls and wraps but I usually get their plates. The plate comes with pita bread and 2 sides - I would recommend trying their fries, eggplant dip, or cilantro hummus but you can't go wrong with any of them!
