Tai Hang Lin Fa Kung

Small temple located right at a three-way junction. It’s pretty quiet, not many people around. Once you walk in, the place actually feels quite powerful and spiritual. You can buy the offering set inside , Just tell the person what you’re here to pray for work, money, Business , whatever and they’ll put a set together for you. The staff are nice and happy to guide you through the steps if you’re not sure what to do👍

A small but sacred temple. Everyone must come and try it at least once.

Lin Fa Temple has a very unique architecture which the front hall is half-octagonal shape and the back of the temple is built on a giant boulder (aka lotus rock). This place is the starting point of the fire dragon dance in the Mid Autumn Festival.

Quite unusual With mezzanine floor inside. Very busy and full of Chi. This temple was once very near the coast, so it's lights would have reflected in the water. Well worth visit before lunching in this charming little suburb, which has some old dwellings that predate WWI. The new gentry have opened many attractive coffee and food outlets.

Many people and tourist but it worth it to visit.

An interesting little temple that you can visit in Causeway Bay is the Lin Fa Kung Temple on Lin Fa Kung Street West, only a 5-6 minute walk from the more famous Tin Hau (Causeway Bay) Temple found near the Tin Hau MTR Station. The temple is open daily from 7.30am to 5.00pm and is free to visit. The Lin Fa Kung Temple is a uniquely designed, small round shaped temple built in 1863 that is dedicated to Kwun Yum also known as the goddess of Mercy. There is only one main chamber room with a ground floor level room, filled with interesting items of worship and altar area as well as a small upstairs level where more statues of intrigue await, including hundreds of small lotus lamps lit under the statue of Kwun Yum. A large rock makes up part of the back wall and is prominently exposed from the upstairs section of the temple. This is interesting to locate and have a look at. Don't forget to look up because there is a very nice dragon fresco on the ceiling of the temple that is well worth taking a picture. You can visit the Lin Fa Kung Temple in as little as 10-15 minutes and it makes a great addition to a visit to the nearby Tin Hau Temple, combined they can give you a sense of the religious affiliations many local people have with the deities of worship. This temple is particularly busy during Kwun Yum festival as well as the Mid-Autumn festival periods.

A nice temple to visit in the Tai Hang Area, on Hong Kong Island. Pay a visit if you are near that district.

The place is rather small but sacred with very nice local vibe. The biggest downside of this place is the horrible horrible staffs especially the uncle who man the front desk selling joss sticks and candles. He is one of the most if not the most terrible attitude staff for a sacred place I have ever encountered. He treated non-chinese speaking tourists as if they bothered him when they asked for simple instructions or recommendations. Tourists will be challenged by asking if they know the meaning of the packages that they want to buy or not. Hello if we know every single detail of these things, why would they bother hiring you to do your job? He should have stayed at home if he doesn't want to work here, rather than taking it on the poor tourists who just want to pray in peace.

True. Tai Hang has been undergone quite a lot of transformation. With new bars and shops showing up every day, Tai Hang certainly does not lose its traditional side. And its Lin Fa Temple (Or Lotus Temple) proves that Tai Hang is also a cultural hub to amidst the vibrant neighborhood. Before you enter the temple you may also see the streets filled with little stalls that sell offerings and incense (as one expects). You will be at awe to be standing in front of this magnificent historic building that has over a hundred and fifty year of history. Granted, it is certainly not as big as one would have expected, yet it plays a vital part in local celebrations. For example, it is built to pay respect to the Goddess of Mercy, as known as Kwan Yin, who seems to protect everyone at sea, by setting this temple next to the huge lotus rock. However, for most locals, people come here for the fortune tellers as I also have heard that those have rather accurate prediction towards ones' life. I am not a superstitious person but I will call that an experience. Inside the temple you may also see lanterns in the shape of lotus lighting up the temple, which is both beautiful and spiritual. Notice that this establishment is also listed as a Grade I historic building, so if fortune telling is not your taste, that certainly is if you are in it for some historic Chinese architecture.
