Tailgate Brewery Germantown - Review - Germantown - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Nashville’s most prolific brewery is decked out to the hilt with lights and garland, but might we suggest focusing your attention on the raclette station and cocktails? Forget the beer for a second, because Tailgate’s holiday cocktail presentation takes the top prize. Like a flight of three vodka espresso martinis perched on a mini tree, a pomegranate martini and prosecco sidecar served under mistletoe, and a peppermint bushwacker waiting in a fir tree with a Matchbox truck in tow." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Went in for the Christmas pop up and was really impressed with the effort that went into the decor—hundreds of ornaments attached to suspended string lights— but also had the Cesar sandwich and now I think it’s quite possibly the best one in the city. I think it’s the bread, but the dang thing hits. Also Lankin the lady bartender from Montana really made Ore such a great experience.

Google
This was a nice quiet spot for pizza and beer! The food and beer we ordered were great! A lot of selection for beer choices and an impressive pizza! I can only imagine how much fun it is to watch a baseball game while there! The inside and outside seating options would make this experience over the top from the left field corner. Parking was a little bit of a pain though.

We came in a Thursday and it was pretty busy. Love coming to this spot because the different varieties of beer. The honey nut and Kyle beer were my favorites. The pizza of the month ham and Mac and cheese was soooo good. Sawyer was an amazing bartender. My boyfriend and I got 2 flights and have different taste in beer and he made the perfect flight for us with great recommendations!

Google
As with all the other Tailgate locations I've been to, this one does not disappoint. Come for the beer and the food, stay for the welcoming staff. I even talked with the manager...Catie, I think?...who seemed pretty great. And if you're going to a show at Brooklyn Bowl, this is a great place to stop in before the show.

Google
WE LOVE TAILGATE GT!!! Probably come twice a week in the summer and fall. Love the staff! Sad to see Austin leave. So personable always make it right. Kindest, best staff ever. And the pizza. Did I mention that???

This brewery is located right next to the Nashville Sounds stadium, nestled in a lively neighborhood full of new apartments and restaurants. It’s a great area to explore, especially on a sunny day. My wife and I stopped by around 1 p.m. on a Friday for a late lunch. The space is open and inviting, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Since the weather was nice, we grabbed a table outside, just steps away from one of the stadium entrances — a perfect spot for people-watching or soaking in the game-day atmosphere. Food & Drinks: Whipped Ricotta Pizza: This is their signature handcrafted pizza, and it did not disappoint. The dough was freshly coal-fired — chewy without being too dense. The toppings were well-balanced: savory meats, just the right amount of saltiness, and a creamy finish from the fresh ricotta. Easily one of the best pizzas we’ve had in a while. Beer Sampler (4 Types): • Guava: Light, refreshing, with a nice balance of sweet and tart. We both enjoyed it. • Tropical: Gorgeous red hue and a candy-like sweetness — a bit too sweet for our tastes, but still interesting. • Czech Pilsner: A crisp, light beer with a clean finish — my personal favorite. • Orange Wheat: Bright and citrusy, with a subtle kick. A close second for me. Overall, both the food and drinks were excellent. With summer around the corner, I highly recommend this place for catching up with friends or family over a few drinks, a great pizza, and maybe even a game next door. It’s a laid-back gem in a buzzing part of town.

Google
Beer menus was very diverse. You will find what you are looking for. Hats off to peanut butter milk stout and Get In Tents!! Pizzas are amazing made with fresh ingredients. Lots of choices or build your own. Give them a try. I recommend it!

Google
10/24: I love this brewery. Best place to get a beer before a show at the Brooklyn Bowl. I had a great time at Tailgate! I've been to the one in Chattanooga so I knew the beer would be good but I'm glad this one was just as good! It's right next to The Brooklyn Bowl so we decided to hang out for a few hours and pregame before The Dresden Dolls show. What a good choice! All the beers I had were delicious and fairly priced. I worried the prices would be higher because it's Nashville but they were standard brewery prices and even $5 core beers. Can't beat that! Service was great! All the beertenders were very friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. We had dinner there too and the pizzas were excellent! I got the Whipped Ricotta Personal pizza. My partner got the BBQ Chicken Pizza with added pineapple. Both very delicious! Definitely would recommend. Also, I asked for a side of marinara and it was huge! Always a plus!

Yelp
I have been to a few of the other Tailgate Brewery locations and I can confidently say the quality of their food and service is always exceptional. This trip was no different. My fiancé and I enjoyed the whipped ricotta pizza with hot honey and this has easily become one of my favorite pizzas to get when I visit Nashville. The ambiance of each location is unique and this one overlooking the Nashville Sounds is one of my favorites. The only thing to be aware of for this location is to try to find street parking as a lot of the paid lots close to it can be expensive!

Yelp
We came in on a Sunday to watch some football. Brought the kids, and ordered some pizza, pretzel bites, garlic knockers. One of the pizzas was burnt, but I hate sending food back so we just got different food later for that kiddo because he wouldn't eat it. (I know this is on me!) The other pizza and food was great! I absolutely love their whipped ricotta pizza and would have it weekly if my waistline would allow for such a thing. I look longingly at the Mexican Street Corn pizza each time I'm in and think it sounds delicious but have yet to try it. One of these days if they ever pull the whipped ricotta off the menu, I'll be forced to get that one. I don't drink alcohol, so I get the cola that has cold foam and vanilla ... I can't remember the name of it, but it's pretty tasty, even if it is Pepsi! All in all, we enjoy Tailgate. Great place to watch some games and eat pizza.

Yelp
TailGate Brewery Was not bad @ all . ... . Came in w/ a few coworkers after work! We shall return!
google avatar

Mike H.

Yelp
Great in-house beer selection of their own beers. This location also features a limited option of cocktails and wine. The food is mostly pizza options, but they do have a wide variety of mostly what I'd call American cuisine. Feels like a standard bar, right near the baseball stadium. Service was great and friendly.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
Brewery done right. Samplers all-day-long. Chicken vodka sandwich, pretzel bites and wings were great for sharing. Service was The right amount of good attention, samples and solicited advice. Sad they were out of the Tailgate lemonade and the Punch Sour.
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
Stopped by this location of Tailgate on Labor Day to try their September pizza of the month: jalapeño popper! Delicious! My husband and I also did a flight of their seltzers. He ordered the chicken a la vodka sandwich which was also amazing. This location is perfectly situated in Germantown and the staff was so friendly. There is an outdoor patio with seating that is also dog friendly. Parking can be hit or miss for free spots but there are multiple paid lots.

Yelp
This is a spacious bar that also serves food, which makes it a great spot to hang out with friends. And the food is good! I had a pizza, and was honestly surprised just how good it was. They also have quite a number of beers on tap, representing many different varieties and including local beers. I found the service to be attentive, friendly, and prompt. I actually just stopped in to grab a bite while waiting for someone, so I chose the spot purely out of convenience. But I'll definitely return anytime I'm hanging out in German town.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
Great sports bar. Very large spacious place. Love that you have to drink local brewed beer. We had wings and fries and they were great. Highly recommend

Yelp
Yummy yummy!! Cool vibes, great hangout spot, delicious pizza, phenomenal location (right next to the baseball field). I'll definitely be back!

Addie P.

Yelp
I love this place so much but closing at 10 pm is a crime. Especially during football season... they have people staying over way after they close it's a shame. In Nashville at least make it 11 pm.
google avatar

Kassie L.

Yelp
Had a really great experience at Tailgate! The food was realllly good for a brewery. Lots of fun pizzas and sandwiches, we got the mexican street corn pizza and the chicken a la vodka sandwich. Both were delicious and enough to fill you up. I enjoyed their seltzer flight, the strawberries and cream was my favorite flavor. Their craft seltzers weren't too carbonated or too sweet. As for the aesthetics, so cool that this location is right at the Sounds stadium! It's also a South Carolina gamecock bar so keep that in mind if you're there on a Saturday when they are playing. Tons of TVs, so perfect spot to watch your favorite sport for a few hours. It was pretty busy when we went, so the line to order at the bar could get a little long at times, but the staff was very nice and worked to get our food & drinks out as soon as possible. If you're local, considering joining their Mug Club for some perks/discounts at all of their locations. Will definitely be going back next time I'm in Nashville!

Yelp
Really a 3.5 experience rounded up. Quality/Quantity - Loaded Taco Fry Basket - My daughter loved this, I did not. Marzen - Good, but nothing special. I also tried the Pumpkin and did not like it. *Missing a few pictures, I had the most trouble with Yelp uploading my photos on this trip... Atmosphere - Good size space, indoor and outdoor seating. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm or 10pm. Service - Counter service. But everyone was friendly. Greeted us when we walked in. Self seating, self ordering, etc. Can I suggest a larger sign, maybe one hanging where the bar register is to let people from a far know where to order? Loyalty program, mug club. Tours available. Price - $30. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2014 and with your 8 locations.

Yelp
I love this location because it's so convenient to stop in for a beer and/or a bite prior to seeing a show next door at Brooklyn Bowl. Half price pizzas on Wednesdays (and the pizzas are delicious), a wide variety of beer styles, always friendly service, and the food is always great.
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
Service was great with so many choices of their brewery. Very open spacing inside and bench seats outside next to minor league stadium where we caught the game. Super chill and relaxing vibes.
google avatar

Andi M.

Yelp
I love their pizza! So good, hot & fresh. They have 1/2 off pizzas on Wednesdays so it's a great deal. They have a great selection of beers on tap. One of my favorite pizza places for sure.
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
The food here was just ok - I wish there were more options in sandwiches! Ordering was kind of strange, as there was a long line at the bar where we were to order both drinks and food. There was a spot in the back where we should have been able to order food but it was closed. Not a great spot for those who don't drink beer. Which seems like a given but a lot of breweries these days offer other options!
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
TailGate Brewery had a very large taproom with a size-able bar. I visited at Christmas time and the taproom was very nicely decorated for the occasion with lights and bulbs dangling everywhere from the ceiling. My buddy and I were trying to decide what beer to get and asked the bartender to try a sample. She was very accommodating and even brought us an extra sample we didn't ask for because she thought we would like it. I thought that was very nice of her and was very good service. I ended up getting an IPA which was good but I should have gotten one of the stouts she had us sample. They were delicious. We also checked out their patio. It was nice sized and had a pretty good view of the nearby baseball field. It would be a great hangout spot in the warmer months!
google avatar

Brian F.

Yelp
One of my favorite atmospheres of any brewery I've been to in a long time. Great Christmas decor. Beer was good, maybe not top notch but solid. Location by the baseball stadium is really neat.
google avatar

Christina B.

Yelp
Situated right between Brooklyn bowl and the baseball stadium, this spot is perfectly located for a bite to eat before any event in Germantown! The pizza is so good, I think both their round pies and their Detroit style pies earn them the title of best in Nashville. Fresh ingredients, always served hot and made to order. And they always have creative beer flavors, we like doing the flights to try the seasonal offerings. The restaurant looks out on the baseball stadium, so you can even watch the game while you eat! There are usually a lot of people on game nights so be prepared for some noise. The only thing that would make this location better would be a dedicated parking lot or validated parking, but you can usually find street parking a block or two away
google avatar

Shasta S.

Yelp
We went for the Germantown Xmas pop up, and this place was definitely poppin. Jammed pack, happy we got here in time to find a table. The pizza, as usual, delicious. $1 beers for mug club equally delicious- but I wanted to try their festive cocktails. I had the Southern Santa and Apple Cider Mule - both very good and the mule had the cutest presentation! 10/10 definitely would do this again. Didn't get to try the raclette this time, hopefully next time?

Erik S.

Yelp
My fiancé & I love this specific location. Great for watching the games on the weekends and the food is always great. We've been to the other locations and we feel the food is always amazing at Germantown. Highly recommend for anyone visiting that's looking for good beer & good food.
google avatar

Grumpy G.

Yelp
We are pizza freaks not snobs. We decided to visit this specific location (we have visited 3 others) because of the Christmas popup. Pizza was great as usual. Bartenders were nice and attentive. The popup drinks were good. Great atmosphere.
google avatar

Gabrielle T.

Yelp
Food was so incredibly good. Medium birria pizza and got burrata on top. Service was quick and ambiance was great
google avatar

JoAnn P.

Yelp
Food, drinks, trivia night, half price pizza Wednesday! Half price certain appetizers during happy hour. The servers were very helpful and let us taste several before we bought a glass. They even got us taste throughout the night as we were wanting to try others. Love this place!
google avatar

Lana B.

Yelp
Tailgate has great pizza options, I honestly like their pizza more than their beer. At one point they had a general tso pizza which I was unsure about but it was amazing. The Cesear salad perfectly balances out the pizza. Tailgate is great for big groups.
google avatar

Donna L.

Yelp
Our party of 16 had an absolute blast last night at the Germantown location. We are all club members and wanted to visit the Christmas market before it was over. As always, TG did not disappoint!
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
Let me begin by saying I am a Mug Club member, and I love Tailgate. Now on to the review of this location. My wife and I were headed to a Nashville Sounds game and decided to visit Tailgate Germantown before the game. I have Ben to multiple locations, but this was my first time at this one. It did not disappoint! Fantastic beer and food selection, just like every location. Everything was what I expected from Tailgate. The beer was great, as usual. I had 2 different beers, and opted for lighter selections - TENN Golden Lager and Patio Time BB Blonde Ale. Both were great choices! My wife, who is NOT a beer drinker, tried the Sounds Strawberry Lemonade Shandy and really enjoyed it. Of course I sampled it, and it was quite good - a nice summer drink, for sure. We had some adult chicken nuggets and pretzel bites. Both were great! Hot, fresh and very tasty. Service was excellent!! We were greeted the minute we walked in the door, and everyone was very attentive and helpful. At least 3 different staff members walked by our table and asked if we needed anything. Then, when I went to the bar for a second beer, I was asked by every server if I needed help. Outstanding service! Finally, I love the location. The patio sits beside the ballpark, and the views are great! Easy access from the brewery to the gate at the ballpark makes it nice when you're relaxing inside before a game. This was my first visit, but it certainly will not be my last.
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
Amazing location overlooking the Sounds field. Very sportsball vibey with lots of TVs inside. Tons of seating options, but I bet this place gets packed during baseball games. The beer was pretty good with lots of variety on tap, including craft seltzers. I'd be here all the time if I lived nearby.
google avatar

Brett J.

Yelp
What a cool place with a great collection of street art inside! Great vibe, great beer and great pizza! Cool place to go!!
google avatar

Deya M.

Yelp
Dropped by TailGate Brewery for a casual, coworker birthday lunch. This place is perfect for big groups and grabbing a quick bite to eat! Parking can be an issue, but there is a paid lot across the restaurant that only charges $10 for 2 hours. Our group decided to keep things simple and order a Veggie Pizza. For 6 people, we ordered two larges, and it was more than enough food! I didn't have high expectations coming to a brewery for pizza, but this was delicious! The flavors were so well balanced and the bread was perfectly thin. The crust was also soft, fluffy, and lightly flavored. Honestly, this unassuming place is great for your typical pizza craving. I wasn't able to try any of their alcoholic beverages due to it being a work outing, so I look forward to getting some next time I'm here!
google avatar

Marc S.

Yelp
Really enjoyed visiting Tailgate Brewery. We were in the area and wanted to grab a beer and some food. The atmosphere had a great outdoor space and plenty of indoor seating if requested. Loved their pizza. We ordered their Birria (amazing) and the onion rings were phenomenal. The pizza crust was flavorful and gave plenty of Birria sauce on the side. Loved it. I had the orange wheat and was incredible. Refreshing and excellent. The outside view of the minor league baseball stadium was great. You can visit the brewery and catch a Nashville Sounds baseball game. Look forward to our next visit.
google avatar

Luke B.

Yelp
As now this is the best pizza I've had in 2 years of living in Nashville. I recommend getting the Detroit style it's down right incredible. The price is a little higher than I would like but quality and flavor are bomb. Great vibe, great beers and great service.
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Tailgate Brewery is a staple for beers in Nashville. The garlic knockers are unmatched, I would eat them every single day if bread was healthier for you!!! The boneless wings I could have lived without... They definitely just tasted like the frozen nugs you can get at the grocery store. The cobb salad is pretty good, big, and filling. The spicy ranch is the best dressing to get on it! The new Detroit style pizza is chefs kiss. In my opinion it is better than the other pizza they offer here. I came to the Germantown location for trivia, the host was a lot of fun and the vibes were good. I would for sure come for beers but I will not go out of my way for the food here, they are good for a snack but not for a full meal.

Gina R.

Yelp
Great Vibe, great location, great service. Amazing beers to choose from! Menu has a lot of fun pizza options as well as non pizza options. Would definitely be a great hang out place if we lived in Nashville. Nice to get away from Broadway
google avatar

Faith B.

Yelp
The staff is so friendly. We enjoy coming to this location because of it's proximity to downtown and the ball park. The Hot Honey pizza is my favorite but the Street Corn is a close second. Highly recommend! Great location for sports. Large patio for nice weather days.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Still coming to this place over and over! Love the atmosphere. Very big outdoor patio. There beer selections are to die for! Great pizza and other food!
google avatar

Scott W.

Yelp
Great selection of craft beers, great pizza, great atmosphere! This place will be your new favorite hangout!

Yelp
I live really close to the Headquarter Tailgate on Charlotte Pike, but this newer location in Germantown may be in the running for my favorite location of theirs! This Tailgate, which makes (4) within Nashville, sits below Third and Home, just beyond center field of First Horizon Park (Go Sounds!). This is legit a perfect location for game days, and honestly any day, but game days especially as you get a solid view into the park! Another perk with this location is the parking situation. There is a paid lot directly across 3rd Avenue. TailGate is known for their beer, and while I enjoy the TennGold and Orange Wheat, I personally recommend TG for the Pepperoni Feta Pizza and those golden, cheesy and garlic-y orbs of goodness better known as Garlic Knockers! I have sampled the wings and buffalo fries at other locations, tasty, but they don't have anything on the pizza and knockers! A recent discovery of mine is Miss Lacey's Sweet Tea, which is canned in house. Being from Georgia, I am quite picky with my sweet tea and am never a big fan of canned sweet tea, but I have to say that Miss Lacey's is the best canned sweet tea and honestly one of my top mass produced sweet tea's I have ever enjoyed! Outside of food and drink, this TailGate has a great energy with a large open interior dining room that also features bar seating plus a solid outdoor space fitted with picnic tables. This location is definitely more sports bar than the others as all the walls and the bar are lined with TV's...that and they sponsor both PSU and UF watch parties during the college season! Overall, this is a great addition to Germantown and a stellar addition to the TailGate brand!
google avatar

Joanna B.

Yelp
Their pizza is delicious! I've loved every kind I've ordered. I got the whipped ricotta pizza and it was so good with a balance of sweet and savory. Will order again! The place is cute and has an indoor outdoor vibe which is great. You can go and watch the baseball game too.
google avatar

Yelp
Brewery check-list. - 15+ craft beer on tap? YES! - Great views of the Nashville Sounds field? YES! - Amazing food options like pizza, wings, feta dip, and huge garlic knockers? YES x2! - Plenty of TVs for sports watching? YES! This list alone is worth the trip! My visit here was quick, but was filled with beer, a shot of tequila, and great convo with the bartender. I ordered an hazy IPA, I forgot the name of it, but it was tasty and not to hoppy or bitter. I normally stay away from IPAs, but I would go back for a second pint of this. They had a $5 shot of tequila so I partook and enjoyed the rest of beer. Great vibes here with company or solo!
google avatar

Craig B.

Yelp
Tailgate is my favorite beer, and I enjoy them all but especially the orange wheat, The brewery is connected to the Sounds stadium and if you're lucky enough you can score a seat on the patio with a view of the game. The food is good, the beer is good, the staff is friendly. Germantown is one of my favorite Nashville neighborhoods. It's a great spot to open the night.
google avatar

Christina W.

Yelp
The new tailgate location in Germantown just opened today! The pizza there was the best compared to the other locations. We got a large pepperoni and fresh mozzarella pizza. The pepperoni is cut pretty thick and it's delicious. The pizza came out super hot and melty. It did take a little while to be served, but they were super busy for opening day. Plus on Wednesdays all the pizzas are half off! We also ordered a small garlic knockers. There were three large cheese and garlic filled pastry puffs. Don't think, just order them you won't regret it. I got a tangerine extra marshmallow beer, and it was amazing. It was like drinking a boozy dreamsicle. They had a bunch of employees and they were ready to wait on your hand and foot. They were all nice. It's also fun that you can see into the baseball stadium from the restaurant and the patio.

Libby H.

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance are great. The holiday decor is amazing. The sandwich and salads are so tasty. Every one is very friendly
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
Found this location through help of both locals and BNA craft beer aficionados. My Arrival began here with a rich mellow Ambience, tranquil rock music, great lighting and smell of pizza in the hot oven! Great recommendation is start with a nice flight of Medium to bitter hops. My choices were double, triple hazy and west coast style flights. Strongly recommend if you are with thirst for hops & pizza grub in the Germantown Neighborhood.
google avatar

Minly L.

Yelp
A fun spot in Germantown. We came in a for a quick dinner; lots of great options here. It is very much a brewery but still fun and wholesome, keep in mind I came in on a weekday before the dinner rush. Food was solid, definitely your typical brewery game day options. We also came in during they're trivia day which was a really fun surprise.
google avatar

Zac E.

Yelp
Tailgate Brewery is awesome. The beers are fantastic and reasonably priced. The pizza is some of the best we have ever had. And Ashley the bartender went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and will definitely return!

Nick A.

Yelp
Best deals out there. The food is great, service is great, everything is wonderful! The ambiance is a ton of fun too

Uncle M.

Yelp
Mug Club is the best deal in town! Great food and atmosphere. $1 beer nights are a must

Yelp
All the pizzas are so good! This location is amazing if you want to over hear the sounds game or meet friends for a drink! Service is easy because you order at the bar and then they bring the food to your table- so easy!
