Absolutely awesome ambiance, food and service! Perhaps some of the best lamb chops I have ever had. Prepared perfectly and with the best flavor. I finished up with a very decadent flourless chocolate cake......UNBELIEVABLE!! The service was spot on and very attentive and courteous. Can't wait to return some day.

My friend and I ate at Tailleur tonight and the food was wonderful! I had the very flavorful coq au vin. It was a great experience for my first french restaurant. They brought over freshly baked sourdough bread from their bakery across the street and that was very good as well. We will be eating here again.

Google
French cuisine that is masterfully prepared. The decor is very appealing. Our server, Skylee, was most helpful in assisting us making food choices. This is a fine place to dine located on the street car line. I highly recommend checking this restaurant out. Parking can be tricky. The restaurant has a private parking lot off of Walnut Street. I received a text from the restaurant instructing is where to park. That was most helpful. Reservations are probably a good idea especially during busy periods.

Having lived in London for over five years, I can confidently say this was nothing more than a cheap American imitation of what they think “tea time” should be. The food was very underwhelming—the breads were stale, the flavors on the trays were disappointing, and the tea wasn’t served in the traditional British manner, of amazing loose leaf tea, with fresh crumpets or large butter croissants. The overall atmosphere felt pretentious and overly excessive. The first photo shows their food; the second is from Kensington Palace Tea Room—an enormous difference in quality, atmosphere, and price. Perhaps their dinner service is better, but I won’t be coming back to find out. Overpriced for poor tea service and certainly not an authentic experience.

My friend & I went for high tea! It was super cool. The place is so moody & just a perfect setting/vibe for any occasion. The tea experience was so cute. The food & tea were pretty good overall. I definitely want to make it back for dinner one night because I hear that’s really good!

My friend and I came here for dinner and it didn't dissapoint. We arrived earlier than our reservation time but was seated very fastly. Friendly server and got our order taken pretty swiftly. The alcohol drink is not our favorite but the food and wine paring was superb. I will definitely be back again for the amazing experience.

Google
A well-deserved five stars in every category! We visited for our wedding anniversary and were blown away by the quality of the food, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, and the extraordinary decor and atmosphere! I’ve been telling all my Kc-area people about it for weeks. Definitely a perfect place for a celebration. You park in the back lot behind the restaurant, and give the hostess your license plate number for validation. Coming from the suburbs we were dreading the parking situation but upon making a reservation we got detailed instructions from Tailleur. It was wonderful!

A fabulous experience! Rebecca was our waitress and she was impeccable. Everything on the Tasting Menu is incredible particularly the Brussels, Butter Beans with foccacia and fresh butter, and the French 75. So much food in the Tasting menu that I had to take home half of the main course and dessert. So good! And amazing staff.

Yelp
As soon as I walked in I thought wow this place is so pretty and elegant with lots of flowers spaced here and there. Love the vibe! My friend and I had reservations and got seated right away. The server took our order and the food came out pretty quick. She kept checking on us throughout the time we were here. I ordered the mussels which were very flavorful. Just wish they were a little bigger, no big deal though. We shared the peaches and brie. So good and creamy. The peaches were a great addition to the brie. It came with grilled focaccia. I could've eaten a couple orders of this. I also ordered the cauliflower. I've never tasted cauliflower quite like this. Very good although I was kind of full, so didn't eat much and took the rest home. It was very good the next day. We split the crème brûlée. Nice crunchy top and very smooth custard. Great addition with the raspberries. It might be the best crème brûlée I've ever had. I loved everything but my favorite was the peaches and brie. I'd really like to come back here and try other things on the menu. I totally forgot to take a pic of the mussels. Oops

Yelp
I walked into this restaurant at lunch on a Friday without a reservation. It wasn't busy, however - just a few tables inside on the main floor had customers. I had heard it was a "Modern French" restaurant that was enjoyable and I was investigating to see if it would be good for an upcoming dinner for a friend's retirement. I don't think this restaurant is actually French. French chefs value the ingredients and are experts at technique. While the creme brûlée was fine (although, to be honest, the caramelized top was a little too dark in places), the main dishes were heavy handed on one hand and poorly prepared on the other. The cauliflower was smothered with an excessively heavy sauce. I love capers, but there were so many capers that they must have dumped an entire container into the pan. I ordered the salmon in addition, since it seemed to be a common item to lunch and dinner menus, and I typically love salmon. They noted it would be done "medium." It looked good on the plate, but it proved to be rarer than medium rare. I couldn't eat a good third of it. (I am not someone who eats dry, overdone fish, and I love sushi, but this is not an instance in which sushi should be a comparison.) In addition, the glass of wine was served in a vintage flute - which did not hold the typical number of ounces that a $13 pour normally should be. The decor here is dramatically lovely with artfully mismatched antique dining tables upstairs and a gorgeous bar. The back patio would be inviting on a cool evening. I had excellent service from waitstaff. But the food - let's just say I will not be steering my family or my friends to eat here. There are a variety of great French restaurants in KC (Cafe Provence, Aixois, Le Fou Frog) that even top those in other cities. This isn't one of them.

Yelp
No special event needed to eat at this amazing restaurant with fabulous food, cocktails, tall ceilings, great lighting, decor of antiques with equestrian touches. There are 2 floors and both are visually stimulating. Started our evening with French 75 cocktails while reading the menus. Went directly to entrees ordering the Coulotte Steak, very tender, the Sakara Pork Chop served off the bone, so delicious and a side of Butter Beans which I've never had, they were so good and even better the next day ( ps the B52's have a song titled Butter Beans!). Chef Jeff Workman story sounds very similar to famous Chef Jamie Oliver. When he was younger he learned to cook from watching TV while is mom worked as a hair dresser. Later in life he worked at a restaurant as a dishwasher, asked to start on the line as a position was open where he quickly caught on. He's now the chef! Enjoy!

Yelp
Cute restaurant, with a smaller menu, kinda on the pricer side for me & husband! But it was perfect for a date night in KC (from Omaha)! I ordered the burger with side salad. My husband got the steak & Freetz! He was obsessed, the main reason we came here! The inside was beautiful, it was HOT outside and HOT inside, we were sweating for our entire meal so that was a bit uncomfortable, but tolerable. The booths were short & small, not the most comfortable. Server was amazing and on top of everything. I would highly recommend reservations, it is a small space. There is street parking & a parking lot in the back!

Yelp
This is a great place but expensive very less options. I'm in was amazing interiors for historic service was outstanding. They let us cut a cake which we got from home. No ambience had a very rustic French look there's a problem with the parking. You gotta find something before you get there make sure you do your reservations.
google avatar

Yelp
Someone worked hard on this place:, interior is lovely, dark, romantic, outside; feels like like Europe. Colors make me want to redecorate my home. Food: yum. We had pork shank that was perfection! Steak au povire, frites in tallow. Menu has something for everyone. If you're in Kansas City within 40 min, I'd go! Service was fast. Friendly, attentive, welcoming.

Yelp
What an incredible ambiance in this French restaurant. The service, the food and everything about it was amazing. Highly recommend starting with the crab cake and then steak and frites with the sauce. For dessert, you must get the lemon poppyseed ice cream with lemon berry cake.

Yelp
Try Tailleur on Friday, French Fridays. This is a classy joint so wear your clean clothes, park in the back (be sure waitress validates your parking so you don't have to pay the QR code). You and your date should be able to keep Lunch at $50. But it's worth it. A ham and cheese sandwich, Pommes Frites & aioli, crab cakes. You won't go hungry.

Yelp
Tailleur is a beautiful restaurant that sticks to their theme from start to finish. The interior is beautiful decorated with an assortment of vintage decor and furniture. The food is traditional high tea offerings that are excellently made with care. Their tea options are delicious with fresh honey available to sweeten. All staff members were very friendly and helped keep up the experience. What a great place to spend a special occasion.

Yelp
Tricky to find, 2 doors down from the theater. Easy parking in back and you can just go through the back patio entrance. The interior is quaint and subdued. Soft lighting if you want to escape from the sun and the world outside. Extensive wine selection and even if they don't have one for paring they substitute with something else. Top notch. Start with the cauliflower, which is very unique and the sauce is incredible. The burger was rich and smooth. The duck was a nice sized portion and the flavor - wow. If you dip in the sauce it takes to a new level. Carrot cake was rich as expected. The icing was extra rich I would say decadent. If you wonder about the cake, it definitely is real because you can see bits of carrots and the cake. Overall, great experience, look forward to going back, maybe eating outside on the patio and the weather is nicer. Service was incredible.

Yelp
Had a very great experience at Tailleur. The Steak and Frites that I got was out of this world! The green sauce that they put onto of the steak just added an additional level of goodness to the meal. I wish I had more of it! The steak was cooked perfectly and you could tell the quality of the meat was high. The service was above what you would have at a regular sit down restaurant. The restaurant is very scenic as you look around at all the things on the walls. People around us would ask waiters to take picture for them which they were happy to do. The only two negatives I had was the place was pretty hot. I left sweating by the end of my meal. The booths were also pretty small for larger people. Once people behind us left I moved their booth chair away to give us more room which helped a lot. Those two things aside, I loved my experience and the food at Tailleur.
google avatar

Yelp
Tailleur offers an afternoon tea service every last Saturday of the month. They had a nice selection of both savory and sweet treats that you'd typically find on a tea menu. They also have cocktails and champagne for additional cost. Overall fun time and nice treat. The tea itself could be stronger and we felt it was an overlooked item, especially being that it is a tea after all. Note, the gratuity is already added on.

Yelp
We were very excited to try this place out. It was an odd experience. We showed up for our reservation and our table was not ready. No big deal, we went across the street to the sister bar to wait and have a drink there. They were kind enough to call us when our table was ready so we headed back over. I ordered three different drinks before they clarified that they don't have any bar, they pre-batch their cocktails every night and do not keep any liquor so they can't even do a simple gin and tonic. Weird but fine, all the pre made drinks are super sweet and I'm not a wine fan. They only had six beers too so drink options are limited if wine is not your thing. The food was hit or miss. The brie came out cold (not sure how that happened) and the toast with it had no flavoring. The roasted cauliflower was delicious, I highly recommend it. The sauce was great with a good amount of garlic and salt. The steak tartare was also a great pick. I got the steak for my main and it was the most under seasoned steak I've ever had. My partner got the duck and it was some of the best duck I've ever had.

Yelp
This was a really tough place to rate. It's a cool space, the service was friendly and attentive, things that are really hard to get right were absolutely nailed, but... the things that should be basic for a restaurant like this were really disappointing. First, the good. The Steak Tartare was very tasty, and the housemade potato chips were such a smart vehicle for it. Added a wonderful salty crunch which paired beautifully! Then the Cauliflower... I am tepid on cauliflower, and when it came out as a full head I was skeptical, but man, was it perfect. Roasted beautifully, and the sauce with it was incredible. Likely the best version of Cauliflower that I've ever had. Finally, the Duck. Duck is always a risky proposition, if it's not done right it's pretty bad, but this came with a "brown butter mustard" that intrigued me enough to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. It was one of the best duck dishes I've had, and that's saying something. Now, the bad. Our table wasn't ready when we got there for our reservation, which is no biggie, busy Saturday night. But when the host asked us to have a drink at their sister bar (Cheval) across the street instead of having one there, I was a little confused. We soon learned why. When we were sat and our server asked for our drink order, we asked for a lemon drop martini and were told they couldn't do it. We asked for a different drink, and the server said they couldn't do that, either. She then explained that they pre-batch their cocktails and do not have a full-service bar, which was confusing since they have one across the street... Then, the Toasted Brie. The flavor was good, but it came our barely warm- that's a big miss for a place like this. Finally, the Coulotte Steak- while cooked to the temp we requested- was shockingly bland. It barely had any normal, beefy steak flavor which was very disappointing. I would give this 3.5 stars if I could, because the good was great. But I couldn't go with 4 because, as I said earlier, stuff that should be staples were huge let-downs. They had a lot on the menu that sounded fantastic, and the good was good enough for me to try some other dishes, and I just hope that they are the hits.

Yelp
Rebecca was an amazing server. Ambiance is on point, quiet, well decorated. Patio would be great in comfortable weather.

Yelp
We visited Tailleur for one of their high tea events before Christmas. No other way to describe it than it felt like we were temporarily transported from Kansas City to Europe for an exquisite afternoon high tea. From start to finish the experience was magical. The restaurant itself feels like a step back into vintage Europe and as we walked by the pastry counter it felt like being in a French patisserie with towering displays of macaroons and cakes. From vintage tea cups and pots to a tower of sweet and savory pastries and finger sandwiches to attentive waitstaff, they nailed every part of this experience and made it a truly decadent afternoon! The tea is a limited event they do every so often so you have to watch out for reservations. It is on the pricier side, but we felt the overall experience was so unique that it was worth it.

Yelp
A late dinner for us first-timers at this French bistro. We were late for our reservation but called ahead to let them know. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. The restaurant has two floors for dining. My mind is playing tricks on me as I believe there were a few sidewalk tables, too. Bathrooms are on the first floor. Interesting interior design that focused horseback riding. Dark colors. We dined upstairs. Started with the focaccia. It was too salty for both of us although we understand the popularity. We both chose the 6oz steak frites teres major. My steak was perfectly cooked to medium as requested. Loved those skinny, shoestring fries cooked in beef tallow. She overheard someone say their steak was chewy but we had no complaints. We shared the crème brûlée. It was good; not too sweet. She had a Hugo spritz; there isn't a formal bar. It's more of a wine-focused restaurant. There is validated parking in the rear but my date overlooked it. We parked in a strip lot one block north. She enjoyed the experience but wanted a full cocktail bar. And a more visible exterior sign. LOL Staff were friendly and professional. I got the impression the diners were regulars. More than monthly. Just a feeling. We would return. Highly recommended (solid 4.5).

Yelp
New chef, same great experience. Our second time here, I was excited to celebrate our anniversary here as our first time dining here was unforgettable. As we were getting checked in, the host was transparent about their new chef and menu, but I wasn't phased. To drink, I really loved their old fashioned. Very well done. To start, we had the focaccia bread which was delicious. For my entree, I had the scallops. I've only had scallops once before, so I'm no expert, but I don't think I could have enjoyed it more. The texture of the scallops was great and the way it paired with the flavors of the brussel sprouts, bacon, and grits was truly fantastic. On top of the outstanding food, I'm a fan of the atmosphere as well. They have their own unique style in cultivating a classy atmosphere and have the nice options of patio as well as upstairs and downstairs seating. I like their intimate tables for 2-4 but I would say they could accommodate your party of 8-10 if that's what you're looking for (I would say you need to make a reservation for that though).

Yelp
We had such a romantic date at Tailleur in midtown. The lowlights and decor help create an intimate, charming space. Stephanie - our waitress, was so helpful and attentive the entire night. The menu had many excellent options to choose from, but not too many where it overwhelms you. I don't eat French food as often but I definitely want to now! My seasonal mocktail, duck breast and the focaccia bread were my absolute favorite. We will definitely be back for future date nights here.
google avatar

Matthew K.

Yelp
We got the Chef's menu and it was good for what it was. Overall the highlights were the duck and the focaccia. The sear on the duck was some of the best I've had. Although the salad was a bit too salty and the crudo was subpar for me. Service was excellent though and the pacing of the meal was perfect. Overall a nice experience albeit expensive.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a great dining experience all around. From the minute we walked in we were greeted warmly by staff. Dave was GREAT. We had fun time joking around with him all evening. He and Mark checked in on us frequently. Our server, Jake was so sweet and did a great job. There was a small miscommunication with one of the meals. They quickly took it away and remade it. They also threw in a tequila shot to compensate for the bit of extra wait time. It was a wonderful evening celebrating two friends birthdays and we all, of course, will be returning and recommending!
google avatar

Yelp
We held a business dinner with a group of 7 executives. The service was excellent. Both the food and wine was excellent and not too expensive. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the desserts looked good too!

K M.

Yelp
Went for high tea for two. Good- The restaurant is really pretty and they validate parking. Host and waitress were nice. The presentation was very cute. Bad- The price for what we got was exorbinant. We got one tea bag each and a pot of sort of hot water. The food for both was three regular sized sandwiches cut in half (chicken salad, egg salad, cucumber dill with cream cheese) and and some pastries. It tasted fine, nothing amazing. Service was slow and our waitress not very attentive. My bill was $189 which included a 20% service charge that they add on automatically. It was disappointing, unfortunately can't recommend.

Yelp
I loved everything about my meal and experience at Tailleur! The setting of the restaurant was so intriguing and the food excellent. I went with the scallops, served over grits and they were outstanding. Our waitress was attentive and provided some great recommendations. All 3 of us cleaned our plates!
google avatar

Allison G.

Yelp
The vibes of this place were 10/10 and I want to go back to have a full meal! Cheese plate was tasty & the service was good.
google avatar

Caitlin A.

Yelp
Tailleur has a very small menu. I ordered the scallops and they were just OK. Maybe French cuisine is not for me. No hard alcohol, so we ordered a bottled wine. Decor is cute and welcoming!

Aubrey N.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. The ambiance is very cute. However, it is quickly ruined by the loud pop music. Playing something that has a French flair would be better suited to the experience. Now, the food. It was alright. We ordered an appetizer, shared an entire, and a dessert. We were left a bit disappointed after each course. For the price, there are better French places (Cafe Provence) in KC.

Yelp
Finally tried this spot and so glad we did! The fresh bread basket was delicious, the entrees were filling and tasty, and the desserts were fun and yum!! I got a gnocchi dish which was vegetarian so i just added chicken for protein! It was great, I had never had a gnocchi dish like it. The steak was good and came out cooked as ordered which is always key for my husband's approval. The desserts were unique and tasty!! We will be back for sure.

Yelp
I tried Tailleur with a few friends for the first time on a Tuesday night. I loved the french bistro/ Ralph Lauren vibes. Would love to come back and enjoy the outdoor seating under the patio lights. The food was exquisite. On Tuesdays, they have a prix fixe three course menu option. The staff were friendly and gave us good suggestions. It was a great evening filled with good food and good conversations!
google avatar

Yelp
First off there is paid parking lot which is in the back as there is no parking in the front. So be sure to go there to park. Once you enter there head to front and check in at desk. Staff very friendly and there is seating up stairs and on main level. Ambiance is very quaint and inviting. There is a new chef who is working on building new menu, they had a new years menu that they are keeping what worked and they are taking suggestions. We ordered the frittes as a starter and the lobster and salmon as mains. Both very good portions are average size which is smaller than most American restaurants so I'd suggest a couple appetizers if you are really hungry. We tried 3 deserts the chai tea cake it had very good chai flavoring and lemon curd. The passionfruit trifle delicious my favorite. And the carrots cake, it was rich and full of flavor. Overall great dining experience, excited to see the menu the chef decides on.

Yelp
Tailor ur serves "High tea" on the las5 Saturday of each month by reservation only. Two friends and I reserved weeks ago for yesterday, August 31. We were challenged to locate the restaurant despite the very specific directions emailed with our reservation. Partly due to construction on Main St., the front entrance is small and obscured. However, on our second trip around the block we found the parking lot with a direct and very attractive entrance and patio to the restaurant. We were seated without delay and our High Tea experience began. It is good that it is a fixed price menu with few choices to be made as the noise level was deafening in the restaurant. To the degree that my friends and I had to repeat virtually anything said. In looking around the restaurant, all surfaces on the ground floor are hard. With some sound absorbing panels, it would be much more pleasant to dine there. The menu is nowhere listed online--only the $60.00 price point. It seemed high upon making the reservation, and upon being there it seemed exorbitant for what was served. For beverage included in the $60 one could have tea or coffee. Anything else was an up charge. The food presentation was typical for an afternoon tea; a three tier serving tray with finger sandwiches in the bottom, scones with butter and jam in the middle, and a mini croissant; And pastries on top with a few grapes and strawberries. Surprisingly there was no clotted cream served for the scones, nor victoria sponge cake. . The finger sandwiches were typical: egg salad, cucumber, cream cheese, and salmon salad. Crustless half sandwiches on pretty dry white bread. The server was attentive. There was an incremental 20% gratuity added to the final bill which totaled ~$78.00. Including tax and tip. It was a fun experience but not one I'm likely to repeat. All food was good ( minus the pretty dry white bread sandwiches), the service excellent, and the decor charming. I'll likely go again to try out dinner.

Amy W.

Yelp
The ambiance is absolutely incredible. The food was prepared not only so authentic but it was beautiful. The service was so incredible. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
If you haven't been to Tailleur (pronounced Taylor) yet, put it on the TOP of your Kansas City list. From the team behind The Russell, Tailleur brings European comfort food to Midtown. I asked my coworker if she wanted to go to France for lunch and she said, of course! So here we were enjoying frites, french onion soup, and smoked salmon toast in what could only be classified as a European cafe with acquired antiques including riding equipment ready for a polo match. Upstairs acts as overflow - although it hardly feels second class - and is also for private parties - and RUMORED high teas in the future? (yes please!). And, of course - my favorite part - I can't wait to come back for happy hour or dinner on their outdoor patio.
google avatar

Carly C.

Yelp
Tailleur delivers on its promise of delicious French-inspired cuisine, especially during happy hour. The atmosphere is chic, and the menu offers some standout dishes. The chicken beet salad had great flavors, with tender chicken and vibrant beets, but it felt a bit skimpy for the price. The salmon rillette was my favorite item off the happy hour menu, creamy salmon paired with a hearty crostini. Overall, Tailleur KC is a good spot for an elevated dining experience!
google avatar

Savannah H.

Yelp
The decor and cleanliness of this restaurant is a definite gem for KC. They also offer free validated parking for up to six hours in their back parking lot. The host was accommodating and friendly as well. Service was a bit lacking when we ate, some plates were not brought out or silverware but it was quickly rectified once we asked. The standout dish for me was the fries, I would highly recommend as they do it well here. We ordered the focaccia which was just a bit harder than I would have preferred on the outside, a duck with fries entree, scallops, and a carrot cake for dessert. The duck seemed a bit overcooked and the carrot cake came out colder than we anticipated. The scallops dish was solid and had nicely balanced grits. The cocktails were done very well. Overall, for the price point, I didn't feel that the dishes were a must have for me to come back. However I do appreciate the curated atmosphere and the fries.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at Tailleur. I told the server that I am gluten free and he clarified whether or not it was celiac or an intolerance. I told him that I have celiac. He then went to the kitchen and brought back a handwritten list of everything on the menu that I could eat. Here is the list: Green Salad Granny Smith Apple and Turnip Parsnip Soup Black Peppered Butter Beans Ora King Salmon Scallops I had the Black Peppered Butter Beans and they were delicious! For dessert they had a flourless brownie that was also really good. In addition to the incredible food, the restaurant has great vibes and a nice patio in the back. I would highly recommended this restaurant and I will definitely be back.

Morgyan L.

Yelp
The vibes were immaculate, the food was superb, the service was fantastic. All around amazing experience. It was very hard to decide what to order because SO much sounded good. Get the cauliflower-you won't regret it. I wish there was more description on the menu on what each dish entailed-the cauliflower was a mystery based on the description but lived up to the yelp hype! We are from out of town, and only get a date in KC 2/year. It will be hard for us to go anywhere but Tailleur for our next date nig

Yelp
When I lived in Westport, I used to go for walks on Main Street and gawk in the windows of Tailleur at the ambiance. Thankful for my girlfriend who finally took me inside. To start, do you live in fear of going to businesses on Main Street because of the endless construction and lack of street parking? Never fear, there's a lot behind the building with ample parking! I felt like I stepped into an episode of period piece about a fancy rich family who are big into horses. The vibes inside are incredible. Every design choice from the massive ghostly up-lit wedding dressing and riding boots above the host stand to the elegantly mismatched plates and silverware is perfection. We sat downstairs, which I think was the right choice because it wasn't too loud and I could peak into the kitchen through a tiny window. The food was immaculate. If there's one thing I'm going to do, it's order every small plate on the menu. The stunt-meat entrees (massive lobster tail!!) and gorgeous sandwiches all looked delectable, but I think you'll miss out if you skip the apps. The mussels were to die for - warm and spicy in the back of the throat. I wish I could swim in the broth. Perfectly sweet-and-savory ricotta toast with a surprisingly big portion! Crisp and herbaceous arancini! Save room because there's a dessert trio option and you will want to try the desserts. I have been to Enchanté, Tailleur's sister bakery across the street, and I was blown away, so I had high expectation-- that were met and dare I say exceeded. The sticky toffee pudding is a must, and the seasonal bread pudding was a showstopper. Amazing experience! Can't wait to come back!

We went for high tea. The food was good, the pastries were good, the tea was ok. The service was good. For $75 and gratuity automatically included, I would have expected more than a couple of small finger sandwiches and 4-5 different bite-size pastries. I would have gladly paid for a full meal for that price, but not a snack. When we asked if we could have more, the waitress said she would see what the charge would be. It was not the "great" experience it proclaimed to be. I felt cheated when I left. Never again.

Yelp
I know it's not their fault, but between construction and GPS, thinking it on the other side of the street, my nerves were shot by the time I arrived , only to be ignored by server for 15 minutes. Once the order taken went smoothly, but like I said, nerves were shot and didn't enjoy . I took most home. Side note the Macaroons were awful, they were overcooked. There were hard and crispy. Everything else was good the pistachio tart was the die for! And the chicken sandwich was amazing, The skone was even good!

Yelp
TL;DR: Between the ambiance, the great service, and the French bistro classics, Tailleur is a solid spot for a nice dinner in town. The interior gives it that little pop of something fun and different, making it a good spot for date night. HIGHLIGHTS I've heard a lot of great things about Tailleur, and it didn't disappoint. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and they gave great recommendations on what to try. The high points for me were definitely the Pomme Frites, the Pork Shank, and the Mussels. The pork shank was so tender and well cooked, and the mussels had a strong, savory broth underneath them that brought the whole dish together. I was also impressed by the Seasonal Tart, which happened to be lime that night. It had none of the usual pitfalls of lemon bars (too much crust, too little crust, too buttery, too sour, too sweet, wrong texture)--instead, it was perfectly tart with a firm but delicate shell. Huge fan. 10/10, would eat several more of them. PASS Dishes that fell a little short of what I was hoping for were the Fruit Crisp, the Grilled Peach Salad, and the Pappardelle. The only one that was really lacking something was the Pappardelle, which was under seasoned and tasted primarily like almond pesto. The Fruit Crisp, while tasty, was not a crisp. From the photos, you can see that this dish is closer to a cobbler, which has more of a cake-biscuit topping rather than a crispy (hence the name) topping of oats and spices. As for the Grilled Peach Salad, I enjoyed this dish but the peaches were rather dry--almost dehydrated--and next time, I would rather try one of their other salads. NOTES The neighborhood isn't one of Tailleur's high points. Westport and its surrounding areas can be a bit dangerous at night, and since the restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, there aren't as many people around as there are just a few streets over.

Yelp
First time coming here and it was amazing! Loved the vibe inside, it's so cool and I can't wait until it's patio weather. Our waitress was great and even brought us extra bread for our appetizer. We split a bottle of Lambrusco to start which was fantastic. The whipped ricotta appetizer was divine. I did the croquet monseiur (def not how you spell that), and a bowl of tomato bisque. Perfect pairing together and I'm glad I have leftovers to enjoy

Yelp
The atmosphere was bespoke. The food was delightful and appropriately portioned to avoid feeling overfull, despite multiple courses. Our server (I believe it was Stephanie?) was wonderful! She gave us the best recommendations. We had the ricotta toast to start, great and light. Then the French onion soup, along with the grilled peach salad - loved how refreshing it was. Then our main courses were the lamb rack and coq au vin. Then finally lime tart for dessert! Honestly my favorite part was the tart. Their cocktails were great as well. My husband got the old fashioned and my, it was strong, but very good. Overall, wonderful experience! Would definitely recommend and come again! P.S. don't sit at the front window, especially if the sun's still up

Yelp
Went a couple weeks ago for a lunch and it was a wonderful experience with excellent food. Our server was very attentive and gave great recommendations. The ambiance is so unique, the decor is stunning and very vintage. All of the food was impeccable. From the arancini to the sticky toffee, everything on the menu was delicious. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
A perfect place for date night, very intimate and romantic. The steak dinner was so good, they had a new limited menu when we went so there was not very many options on the menu. The hugo spritz drink I got was soo yummy!

Yelp
I can't believe it took me this long to get to Tailleur! Years ago I drove by and added it to my list right away because it looked like the cutest place. I really thought I'd be one of the first but before I knew it, my family and friends were recommending it to me! I finally made my way in for an early Friday dinner and it did not disappoint. In my opinion, the best part about Tailleur is the ambiance. Whoever did the interior design in here is a really talented person. It is probably one of the cutest places to eat in KC if you ask me! I can't even imagine being able to curate a space such as this. On top of that, you can tell the space is older and that the restaurant is making use of a building that has probably been in KC since before many of us were born. Now onto the food & drink. We split a bottle of bubbly rose for an affordable price and also split a seasonal beet and goat cheese salad. It was great, though I'm not a huge fan of mixed greens (arugula). For my entree I ordered the seasonal sweet potato gnocchi and my mom ordered the mussels. In my opinion, the mussels were a little fishy, but she loved them and the broth was INCREDIBLE. My gnocchi was delicious and I ate every bite. You could definitely taste the sweet potato which was good, but I myself like things a little more on the savory side. We ordered a little sugar cookie to end the meal and it was the perfect sweet bite. The frosting was out of this world. I know for a 100% fact that I'll be back to Tailleur! I have to show all my friends one of the cutest little joints in KC.

Yelp
Went for afternoon tea. The tea was lacking and after multiple refreshes of the teapot to get the water hot enough to actually steep the tea, it still was not hot enough. Sandwiches and pastries were decent, I liked about half of what was served and I'm not picky at all. Sandwiches just didn't seem fresh. The ambiance was great and the decor was interesting to look at. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. Besides the alcohol that was ordered, the price for the food and tea was absolutely outrageous considering what we were given. I'm glad I experienced the afternoon tea here but I would not come back or recommend it to anyone honestly.

Yelp
First time to Tailleur tonight and we will absolutely be back! You definitely need a reservation as they are BUSY (but service was speedy!). The ambiance is so nice and very intimate. We tried a bit of everything from the bread basket with herb butter, whipped ricotta, grilled Caesar salad, French dip sandwich, coq au vin, to the bread pudding and chocolate torte for dessert. Everything was awesome/delicious! Cannot wait to go back!
