Taj Coral Reef Resort & Spa

We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and overall had a good experience, but there are some things worth mentioning.|On our first day, the hotel transfer was very comfortable, and we were warmly welcomed at the reception. The staff explained everything in detail, which was really nice. Unfortunately, since we arrived earlier than the official check-in time, we had to wait more than an hour in the lobby without the option to shower or change clothes after a long flight. Luckily, they let us into the room before 3 PM, and it was clean and prepared. We also found a sweet honeymoon surprise in the room – a piece of cake and a message on the bed, which made us very happy.|The first two days, however, were not very relaxing. There was some kind of event at the hotel, so it was very noisy on the island, especially at the football court right across from our villa. On top of that, there were construction works near the ocean side of our villa with loud machines and even a diesel smell, which made it hard to enjoy the stay. Fortunately, this ended after two days, and the rest of the stay was much better.|In terms of improvement, I would mention the food service – the dishes were tasty, but we often had to wait a long time for them. Breakfast could also have more variety, especially fresh fruits and juices.|At the same time, I want to highlight how professional, caring, and well-coordinated the hotel team was when an incident happened on the island involving another couple that we were also a part of. The way the staff reacted was very responsible and supportive. Special thanks to Saji and Misbah, who were incredibly helpful in that difficult moment for those guests.|On the positive side, we really enjoyed the spa program with the Indian massage – it was excellent. The private dinner by the ocean, prepared by the chef, was also a highlight of our trip.|Overall, once the noise and works were over, we had a wonderful time and some truly unforgettable moments.

We recently stayed at Taj Coral Reef Resort in the Maldives, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, the staff made us feel welcome with their warm hospitality and personalized service.||As a vegetarian, I was amazed by the variety and quality of food options. Chef Praveen is a true gem—he makes the most delicious kebabs we’ve ever had! A big thank you as well to Najah, who was always there at breakfast, lunch, and dinner ensuring everything was perfect. Even a short conversation with Chef Prakash was a delight.||There are so many wonderful people we’d like to thank:||Rana ji – we missed you at departure since it was your day off, but we’ll have to return just to say goodbye. You are a true GEM!||Pawan – thank you for guiding me to the best spot on the reef (I would have missed it otherwise), for sorting out our internet billing issue, and for ensuring the smoothest checkout.||Ibrahim and Shehan – for making the best cocktails and always greeting us with a smile.||Daksh – for keeping housekeeping top-notch and checking in regularly.||Raina – for making both arrival and departure quick and smooth.||Sajid and Ziyaan – from the reservations team, our very first point of contact, who gave us such a strong first impression of Taj hospitality. Thank you for replying so quickly and always providing the right information.||Ali – at the airport, for guiding us through arrival and departure with ease.||Saman and Madhu – we really appreciate everything you did for us. (Apologies for forgetting one more lady’s name, but your kindness was not forgotten!)||The overwater villas were beautifully designed, with breathtaking views of the turquoise lagoon. Snorkeling around the house reef was the highlight of our stay—it’s simply magical.||A small note: some renovation is needed, though we know the work has already begun and it didn’t impact our experience at all. We also had a minor issue with being charged for possible snorkeling equipment damage, but this was a very small matter and did not affect our enjoyment or our rating.||Overall, Taj Coral Reef is the perfect blend of natural beauty, luxury, and heartfelt service. The staff here are what make the resort so special, and we cannot wait to return to see everyone again.

We 5 couples travelled to Maldives and stayed at Taj coral reef resorts for 3 Nights recently. We had a very excellent experience right from welcome, Room allocation, and then the spacious water viilas decor , cleanliness etc. The hospitality , food quality ,Taste and service is excellent. The excursions are easily available. The previlaged complimentary wellness spa was authentic and upto the mark. I specially extend my thanks to Pawan, Imali and her team. Manish Pawar..Nashik.

Pros: Restaurants and front desk staff all are courteous and accommodating. There's a lady waitress in the restaurants from Ghana Abigail ( If I am not wrong). She is really very hospitable and offered exceptional service. Interns like Esther , really did a great job. Rooms are spacious. Overall loved the stay. Thanks to the staff. Snorkeling was good . Indeed loved it. Cons: Minor issues: 1. Right from slippers to shaving kit, not given till asked 2. There was drainage smell in washroom while bathing, water clogged for a very little time. 3. Sofa bed was very noisy. Comforter given in main bed doesn't fit two properly 4. Breakfast menu was a little modified everyday, but lunch options are the same everyday Major disappointment Excursion: We had a complimentary sunset cruise in our package. But I would rather prefer to call it sunset photo cruise. Mainly to mention, staff member was so rude and commanding in tone. He treated as if he was doing a favour for us by letting us on the boat and was doing loose talk which in the first place spoiled our mood. Then the main event in reality i. First board the sunset boat with life jacket ii. Step on to the deck and sit only in the allocated place iii. Give your phone, staff member will take your photos. That's it and return. After reading the description I waited for this for 2 days and was so excited. But it is just a photoshoot with our own camera nothing else. Which is quite disappointing.

I have not experience such a lovely hospitality in any resort. From the landing to airport and welcoming us till leaving the place by memorial Good bye gesture from staff was really wonderful. Each and every staff was putting their efforts to make our vacation memorable. Great rooms, food, location and staff service. Thanks to team Bokkura restaurant Imali, Madu, Rana, Saman, Looth, Najah & Abigail for taking care of us.

We went there to celebrate our son's first birthday and the experience was quite memorable. Thanks to Shreya and team for the lovely arrangement, my son enjoyed it thoroughly. Entire staff was great especially Shreya's warmth, Imali's contagious smile and Raina's politeness.....Kudos to the entire team for making our stay memorable and delightful!!!!

We were at Taj for honeymoon reminiscing our first date at Vivanta by Taj Chennai. While nothing unpleasant, the Taj Coral Reef failed to maintain its 5-star rating in my view. ||Pros - |The staff were absolutely lovely, pleasant, welcoming and friendly.|Food was on point at what one would expect at Taj|The facilities were wonderful|Rasel’s thoughtful swan origami towel decor probably saved our honey moon experience - thank you Rasel very much for that!||Cons -|No welcome party for the honeymoon couple, yet we noticed welcome parties for most other guests.|No special honeymoon perks ( unlike most other resorts in the star rating offer )|Biggest con - the private island was host to a party for 100 non resident guests on the last two nights our our stay. The non resident guests had completely occupied the only bar on the island, and the pool. Their only fine dine restaurant was also locked away for the private party of the non-resident guests. There was no prior information from the management regarding this. Had we known of the same, we’d have planned accordingly our visits to the pool and restaurant which we never could because of this.||Given Taj is a 5-star facility, I would have expected better management of such occasions. While our stay was still very pleasant and memorable, this incident put to question about the 5-star rating for the same.

Our 3-day stay at Taj Coral Reef Maldives was absolutely fantastic. The villas were luxurious with stunning ocean views, the food was exceptional, and the staff’s warm hospitality made us feel truly special. From snorkeling in vibrant reefs to relaxing on pristine beaches, every moment was unforgettable. A perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and natural beauty—highly recommended! 🌴✨
