Excellent table-side service, beautiful decor, delicate tableware, and high-quality food.
However, the soup was extremely flavourless, even with the lobster and signature beef I ordered, it was just too plain. Best item was the congee, but I feel that the congee flavor was mainly held up by the lobster that had stewed in the pot.
The most depressing item was the dessert - it was mostly just pistachio cream. I was lucky - I asked if there was more than one option of dessert, hence, I received a sweet-potato cake, which was much, much better than the original option.
And also - couldn't order a simple glass of tapwater, which was really weird. The staff was insistent that she could not serve a glass of normal tapwater/ordinary water.
I would recommend this restaurant for a simple date, nothing too extravagant. And the lobster is a must-order, if you prefer a stronger and more flavorful meal.
But the CP value of this restaurant is so-so. No promotions offers with AMEX as well, which was also weird, since most of the other restaurants like Ya Ge, Mandarin Cafe, and Bencotto have promotion offers with AMEX.
