The 21 Best Restaurants In Tribeca - New York - The Infatuation

"In a neighborhood full of high-end restaurants, Takahachi stands out as a place where you can show up in sweats and have relatively affordable and good quality sushi. Start your meal with the beer-battered shrimp and broccoli tempura, then get the $29 sushi deluxe, which comes with eight pieces of nigiri and a tuna roll. The regular menu has a limited selection of raw fish (tuna, yellowtail, salmon, and not much else), but they always offer a rotating choice of special pieces like trout from Iceland or buri from Japan." - molly fitzpatrick, bryan kim, willa moore, kenny yang

Our Favorite Neighborhood Sushi Spots In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"In a neighborhood full of high-end restaurants, Tribeca's Takahachi (with another location in the East Village) stands out as a casual place where you can show up in sweats and have great sushi. Their regular menu has a limited selection of raw fish (tuna, yellowtail, salmon, and not much else), but they always offer a rotating choice of special pieces like trout from Iceland or buri from Japan. If you don't want to make decisions, go for the $29 sushi deluxe, which comes with eight pieces of nigiri and a tuna roll." - bryan kim, neha talreja, carlo mantuano, sonal shah

The Best Places To Have Dinner For Around $30 In The East Village - New York - The Infatuation

"Takahachi is the sushi spot that you want in your neighborhood - better quality than the place playing house music and serving California rolls with too much rice, but more casual than an omakase restaurant where you’ll spend at least $100 and still need to grab pizza on the way home. You can dine solo at the sushi counter or grab a table with a group. Either way, your order here is the $24 sushi deluxe, which comes with eight pieces of fresh sushi plus a roll and miso soup." - hannah albertine, matt tervooren

Where To Eat With A Third-Tier Friend - New York - The Infatuation

"You don’t know a ton about this person, but you do at least know that you both like sushi. Try Takahachi. This East Village restaurant is one of the best casual sushi spots in the city - mostly because it’s relatively easy to walk into, the fish is good, and the prices are pretty low (rolls are around $5). If Tribeca is more convenient for you, there’s another location there that we endorse for the same reasons." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, neha talreja

Takahachi - Review - Tribeca - New York - The Infatuation

"Takahachi is like a TV show that isn't total trash, but also isn't good enough to lose an entire weekend to binge watching. This neighborhood restaurant in Tribeca serves sushi that’s slightly higher quality than what you get from places that primarily do delivery. Start your meal with the beer-battered shrimp and broccoli tempura, then get the $28 sushi deluxe, which comes with eight pieces of nigiri and a tuna roll. (They'll gladly sub a salmon roll if you ask.) The regular menu has a limited selection of raw fish (tuna, yellowtail, salmon, and not much else), but they always offer a rotating choice of special pieces like trout from Iceland or buri from Japan. The sushi bar is perfect for solo dining and runs the length of the long, narrow dining room, but there are also some tables and a small back room for bigger groups. In a neighborhood full of high-end restaurants, Takahachi stands out as a place where you can show up comfortably in sweats and have relatively affordable and good quality sushi." - Kenny Yang
