We started our meal with olives, deepfried sardines, tartare of tuna and homegrown tomatoes. Our main were lamb and hake. The flavours were well combined and good eye to detail. Kudos to the chefs! There's no fixed dessert menu but last night we tried their cloud of coconut with granita mint & passion fruit.. a light yet flavoursome dessert.

Walked in here by random chance on a Monday afternoon and it sure was a lucky choice! Everything I had was incredible- the sea bass was perfectly grilled with a crispy skin and tender, fall-apart on your fork meat, the pork and the steak tartare were the best I've ever had, and the cloud of happiness (for dessert) was a unique and great finish. To top it all off, they were incredibly accommodating of my companion's dietary restrictions (vegetarian) and there service was excellent. Can't recommend this highly enough!

Wonderful place with interesting and unusual menu. Moreover, there is a big variety of wines. I’m not an expert in wine, but my friend is. He was surprised how many interesting sorts of wines there. I liked his taste and which wine he ordered. Also, I like coctail card there. Beautiful place and relaxing atmosphere👍🏼

Fantastic. Amazing food and the flavours wonderful. The tuna belly and garlic cream was just out of this world. Lovely ambience, great staff and wonderful atmosphere. Txuleta (old cow) was just amazing. We will be back. Well done. You deserve to go far.

This restaurant is lovely! The service from host to waiter was kind and attentive. The food creative and delicious. The restaurant is very stylish and was tastefully decorated for the holidays. Each dish from the set menu was presented artfully. My friend and I spent Christmas Eve in San Sebastian and it was one of the very few restaurants that was having Christmas Eve dinner. I emailed for a reservation which they replied to in a timely manner. They also communicated in English, which was very kind of them since my Spanish is not great. But what truly pushed me to write this review was the outstanding hospitality at the end. We spent a long time in the restaurant enjoying our food and the atmosphere, it was late on Christmas Eve so taking a train out of the city center and back to where we were staying was no longer an option. The hostess went above and beyond trying to get us a cab for our trip back. We were close to having to walk our way back but luckily a cab arrived. Since it was the end of the night, the man who I am assuming was the head chef, was shaking hands and speaking to the leaving customers. I guess he noticed that we were nervously waiting for our cab, and went out of his way to flag down the cab outside and let us know it was here. This kindness and personality from the people of this restaurant showed throughout our experience and in our meal.

My husband and I had an incredible lunch at Takatak when we were visiting Spain a few weeks ago. The food exceeded my expectations and the service was phenomenal. If it's your first time, I highly recommend the multi course experimental tasting. It was a perfect way to sample the amazing masterpieces the chef and his team create. The pork belly was my favorite! A must try!!! Chef Modestov was super attentive and walked around to make sure every table was having a great experience. We can't wait to come back!

I never leave reviews. I went woth my partner and this place is fenomenal. Great ambience, wine list, and the food is spectacular. Try the tomatoes with the chuleta and for dessert the maracuya with coconut. The chef is quite talented. Everything was delicious. One of the best meals we had in San Sebastián!

Talented, creative chef and knowledgeable sommelier. An absolute must-go sip and eat if you like natural wines and local, Organic, carefully prepared and presented food. The owners are Russian but the menu and presentation is uniquely global.

It was our second time in Donostia and we luckily found this modern beautiful restaurant to dine in. The presentation of the food was very impressive and flavorful. The chef is talented and creative with every single dish. To top it off, the wine list is unique and paired well with the food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I dined here tonight and had a fantastic experience! I chose the veal cheeks and she chose the grilled tuna belly. Both dishes were phenomenal in presentation, value, service and above all, taste. The wines paired perfectly including the port we chose to accompany a fantastic and creative dessert called "Happy Cloud." Wow. Our favorite restaurant in Donostia thus far and will definitely return!

the chef's response merits comment. He doesn't deny that we were deliberately ignored, or our other complaints about the service. And "waiting our turn" for 20 minutes is false. People who came after we did were acknowledged and served long before we were. Also, the online reviews we found of the wine were very different from what we tasted. It could be that the reviews were of the wrong wine... or it could be that the wine had turned. In any event, no one discussed our wine choice with us before we got the bottle. Had we known that the restaurant apparently offers this wine for those who like the taste of battery acid, we would have passed. After we realized that the wine was undrinkable, the server I now understand to be the chef/owner's wife offered us another bottle. As noted in my initial review, we decided to stick with beer and, as noted in my initial review, we were not charged for the beer. I'm sorry that the chef/owner's wife cried after seeing our review but she can't be surprised at our unhappiness with the service.

Impressive take on Basque cuisine through a lens of a talented Russian chef. Found the restaurant through the Natural Wine app Raisin and was so glad I did. Dmitrii, the chef and all of the staff are so hospitable and took the time to make us feel welcome. Dmitrii personally takes the time to select the wines and focuses on some hard to find producers. The dishes and flavors were interesting and well executed. I would definitely return for a super relaxing vibe and a great dinner!

Had another amazing meal at Takatak. A nice sit down restaurant which was a pleasant break from the pintxos of San Sebastian. A very creative chef with a great tasting menu and an impressive wine list.

Amazing dining experience. Friend of mine has recommended the place some time ago along with two 3 star restaurants in the area. And there is a reason for that. We had a tasting menu paired with a lovely bottle of a french organic white wine. The wine selection is quite broad: you find all the classics, as well as some particular bottles. All wines are organic; they do have "hip" orange wines, as well as "vini naturali" -- not so easy to find in NY. And impossible to find for a base European price pretty much anywhere in US. Enough said... Now, the menu was very well balanced, fresh, seasonal and local. I know, sounds pretentious, because it is. Honestly, you just have to try it. Especially I'd like to note the desserts: asparagus based sorbet... Have you ever thought about that? Me neither. Absolutely fantastic place, great service. Also gave us some tips about local restaurant scene. Definitely coming back!

I travel extensively and eat at many fine restaurants, rarely finding the time to post reviews, but this place was simply amazing from the layout to the details of the designer cutlery - I can say that a real gastronomic treat awaits you at Takatak. As the restaurant had only opened 26 days ago, we happened on it accidentally, the food was amazing, service (with great English) was very good and the price reasonable. The oysters in black and white garlic are highly recommended!
