The food was soooo delicious. We got the the "Tag" breakfast burrito, the caprese omelette & The specialty burger with chipotle potato salad, everything was amazing, OMG soo good!!! Chelsea is always awesome as well. Highly recommended!!!!!

Awesome food, environment, and staff! The employees are so kind and go out of their way to make your food and experience exceptional. I order all my vegan cakes there and the sandwiches, pastry and coffee are great too!

I want to enjoy the food more because it’s an awesome restaurant with really sweet people running it. It’s all vegan which is amazing! I’ve found that the execution of some of the dishes fall flat for me. I’d say mostly because of the salt. I have no issues with salt on my food but I’ve had multiple items that have all tasted overly salty to the point where it ruins what could have been a really good sandwich, wrap etc. I also really want to love the sweets more but they aren’t super well balanced and end up being just super sweet. Like I said this is an awesome place and this is just my experience so please go try for yourself as the woman who owns it and her employees are absolutely lovely and I want the business to thrive for a long time but wanted to share my experience.

Amazing vegan food in a cute and casual room. Counter service with friendly baristas who are obviously enthusiastic about the menu. Portions are larger than expected as the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend Take Two.

Take Two is one of my favorite places to get coffee or food. If you have a vegan eating lifestyle, this is the place for you! I personally am not vegan, but I will say, the food is always incredible, and the coffee is some of the best in the area. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and the owner has created something very special for the community. Go and try the James Dean breakfast sandwich!

A must stop whenever we are in the area. The savory food is delicious (like the vegan reuben) but it's the desserts that are really where it's at. One is better than the other. Eat there (and then explore the wonderful nearby area) or take it to go.

My husband and I had no expectations when we walked into TT this morning. We were greatly pleased when we tasted the food. I got a vegetable omelette and the AVO SMASH TOAST (😋) on rye with a cappuccino. My husband got the Disco Biscuit. The food was so delicious we can't wait to go back next week!

My wife is vegan, so it's difficult when traveling to find a place where she can actually have a whole menu to choose from. Found Take Two while traveling back to Connecticut from our long weekend. Easy to get to off the highway, parking wasn't bad, but it is a Sunday Could be difficult during the week. Food was very good and the staff was really friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Not a lot of tables My only recommendation would be to have a restroom for customers and more outside seating. Seems like a nice downtown area.

Cute place, in a city that really needs help. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious choices, and vegan! The chickpea tuna wrap was amazing, and the spicy potato salad was phenomenal. Chocolate chip cookie was good. Will come back for the Breakfast, if I can stomach this area. Depressing, all paid parking, smelly, and loud. No bathrooms around, I recommend the whistling kettle around the corner.

Delicious food & drinks in a small but cute and clean place. Service was quick. All vegan which made it nice to order anything off the menu.

I'm not vegan at all, but this place is SO good. Everything is flavorful and filling, and it never feels like you're missing anything. The tag burrito is hands down my favorite -- I crave it all the time. If you're vegan, curious, or just love good food, this spot is 100% worth it.

I am giving this 5 stars because I want to support a vegan cafe in Schenectady, which is a fantastic thing to have. My wife had the Triple Decker Club, which she said was amazing. I had the Reuben with seitan as the base and frankly didn't think it was that good. Maybe I am biased, as I am not a huge seitan fan, but I think the sandwich was missing enough sauerkraut, Russian dressing, and melted cheese. Come to think of it, I don't recall even tasting any of those things as they were drowned out by the seitan. I am excited to try other items on the menu. Pro tip - order ahead as they were kind of slow.

We ordered pastrami, egg, cheddar, horseradish mustard, grilled onions on everything bagel....OMG, well crafted, delicious, filling and made with love in their hearts!!

VEGAN REVIEW Had breakfast here during a conference at the casino. Totally worth the 20-25 minute walk! Service is helpful, quick & friendly. Extensive menu. Omelette was super tasty & lots of fresh veggies. Coffee was good. Cute cafe. They were putting up Christmas decorations while I was there-- 'tis the season!

Had lunch recently at the only restaurant in Schenectady that's all plant based. It really is. Take Two Cafe is so good it makes me do multiple takes. Great stuff no matter what to be honest. You won't even have to ask if anything is vegan because the answer always is yes. Came in and kept the order simple for being the first time in here. It's open for breakfast and lunch. There's plenty for any type of tastes. It's about $12 for one of the burgers. Of course add a few bucks to make it one of the specialties. I got the Spicy BBQ Burger. This was a Beyond patty with barbecue sauce, vegan cheddar, house spices, jalapeños, lettuce, and onions. Hot and messy. That's the kind of stuff I'm into, oh yeah. At breakfast the options include omelettes, plant based. The next time here I have to get one of these. Get lots of great stuff not made of meat. It has plenty, as in everything on the menu obviously. There's things for breakfast and lunch, with it all being okay for vegans and vegetarians.

We had out of town guests who are Vegan, so we ordered takeout from this everything vegan cafe which features breakfast and lunch items plus desserts. It is the only cafe in Schenectady that is plant based. We are fortunate to have one great place nearby. It is worth the trip here from the surrounding areas. Ordering and pickup were efficient and courteous. Order included: Breakfast Burritos --A scramble of seasoned potatoes, cheese, chorizo, tofu and green chiles. Southwest Omelette -- Tomato, onion, cheddar, avocado, and fresh jalapeño. The food was well packaged and arrived home warm. The food was delicious! So fresh! So well prepared! So nicely presented! It was great to not have to ask if an offering or ingredient was vegan because IT WAS. The cafe is charming with many plants. There is limited seating so go early or in a small group. Service is welcoming and friendly. They are eager to please. Special orders are welcome. We will order again even if we do not have guests who are vegan.

The cutest all vegan cafe around! The menu is simple and delicious the service is fast and the ambiance is super hip! Great cozy cafe in downtown Schenectady. Parking is limited at certain times of day but not too bad. Will be back!

Went here for breakfast this time and ordered a breakfast burrito! It was very good for a breakfast food very filling. The only thing that I didn't like was that the burrito to go was cut in half and each individual half was wrapped up in paper. Otherwise the experience was great, I was going in after a blood draw and was starving. The food came out very fast after ordering, and was very hot when I got it.

We stumbled upon Take Two Cafe on a weekend trip to Schenectady. This is a fully vegan cafe and I am so here for it. My husband found it while searching for brunch places, but honestly we could have looked out our hotel window. We saw a show at the theater across the street. Take Two I'd also the start of the pedestrian street full of shops. The cafe was adorable. It was so green and alive with plants and bright decor. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant. It was as exciting placing my order as it was receiving it. The food was amazing. The desserts had me and my husband in full swoon! Thank God we split everything because there would have been some stealing lol. The Avo toast was solid. We really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. The lox bagel was so fresh. It wasn't fake fishy and had a beautiful dill flavor. We will 10/10 go back here on another visit!

Came with wife on a visit. It's downtown and you have to find public parking. Not a problem for us on a Monday morning. Totally vegan with lots of gluten free options. My wife has a gluten allergy and a dairy sensitivity while I am diabetic, have Alpha Gal and a tree nut allergy (we're fun). She had the "sausage" and egg (Just egg) sandwich on gluten free toast with avocado. I had an omelette with onions and "bacon". Both were VERY good. I am not vegetarian and she leans into that way of life - but this was tasty Staff was helpful with our order and seemed conscientious of our issues. The restaurant has 5 or so tables and is spacious. Not a first date place or place for large groups. Ok for small children assuming they are good with menu choices. When back in the area we will definitely revisit!!

The breakfast burrito was delish. Super yummy salsa. Excellent coffee & cinnamon roll. Folks were friendly and the vibe was super cute.

Stopped in for a late breakfast prior to seeing an afternoon show across the street, and got a custom omelette and the cold brew coffee with oat milk. I was happy that everything here is vegan and many items are gluten-free. The Just Egg omelette was delicious and I was happy that the vegan chorizo was gluten-free and that they were able to sub in a slice of buttered gluten-free toast. All of it was delicious and very satisfying. I came back later to get their caramel mocha espresso bar (which they made in-house, as opposed to the oat chip cookie that is made nearby). It was very sweet (maybe too sweet and quite messy and gooey), but it was also very good. The guy taking my order was very nice and helpful when I asked him for suggestions. And later when I needed my table cleaned before sitting down, another guy quickly got something to wipe it down with. They seem like happy employees.

Service and food is great! I purchased a to go order of the breakfast burrito. It was really good, seasoned well. I came in a breakfast wrap. The spot is pretty cool, well decorated. The seating is limited and they don't have a public bathroom, but outside of that it's a great spot. On Monday I ordered the classic burger w/ chips and it was pretty good.

Even as a non-vegan all the food I've had here is amazing. The service is amazing and everyone is so friendly. All the food is fresh and I get my food very quickly. All the desserts are out of the world. My personal favorites are the donuts and cheesecake, I have never had such good desserts in my life!

First time my girlfriend and I tried this place while visiting Albany. The food was amazing. Had an omelette, chai latte, and took a Ruben sandwich to go. Went back a second time on the next visit and had the breakfast burrito and was also delicious. Would definitely go back!

Excellent breakfast spot in downtown Schenectady. If I can make a recommendation it would be to get there around 9 am on a Sunday and enjoy breakfast out on the patio then stop by the Farmers Market at the end of Jay Street which opens at 10 am. During this trip we enjoyed the Breakfast Crane which is like a crunch crunchwrap filled with JUST egg, local seitan bacon and cheese. We also had the Breakfast Burrito and added fresh jalapenos and avocado to the savory chorizo and tofu scramble. Our friend had the carrot Lox Bagel. Lastly we tried the cheddar with scallion biscuit and a Strawberry Snail donut. The experience was good. They have a variety of plant-based creamers for your coffee in a mini fridge by the door to help yourself. The only disappointing thing was the menu boasts several beverages that weren't yet available, they don't have an espresso machine yet (as of June 13, 2021). During this trip my wife was feeling a bit I'll afterwards which was likely unrelated to our visit. I reached out to the cafe via their website to inquire about some of the ingredients in the Breakfast Crane. Much to my satisfaction they assured me it was all vegan and answered my inquiry really quickly which we were happy about. Overall it was a great experience and we'll be back when they get their espresso machine up and running!

Tasty food and friendly service! However, I must say, for those looking to dine in, there is very limited seating and no bathroom. They did let me go behind the counter to wash the hands though.

Im not vegan but this food is amazing. Plenty of variety to choose from. The staff and owner are very friendly. The place is small but clean. I cant wait to go back!

A casual restaurant serving vegan food for breakfast and lunch in downtown Schenectady. I had the Woodlawn breakfast which was cucumbers, pesto and tomatoes on gluten free toast. No bathrooms available for guests but besides that it is a cheerful space with polite staff members.

Please note; there is no bathroom here and the staff is not helpful about where the nearest one is. The food was tasty and the Cafe has a cute look, but not worth the high prices, also for me it loses a star because I was charged higher prices than what was clearly listed on the menu for each item by at least a dollar. I have really loved Take Two at the Schenectady community events like the soup stroll, but going there on its own is not worth it.

I can't believe I've never written a review for Take Two. I come here all the time and love every single thing they make. Some favorites are the Rueben, Mac and cheese, Crunchwrap, and pastrami breakfast sandwich on rye. The chocolate chip cookie is the best I've ever had, vegan or not. And the drinks are delicious!! Matcha and chai lattes are wonderful hot and iced. Everyone who works there is really kind and you'll have the best meal no matter what you order.

It's amazing go here ASAP! I live like 25 min from here and I make the trip when I can! This is one of the best vegan spots around. So grateful to have this cafe in the area. You deserve all the love and light for your hard work! The breakfast omg so YUM! The spicy Mac an cheese is the best! I love spice. The portions are exactly what you hope for when being hungry. They have a vegan crunch wrap like whaaaattttt yum! And I love the Reuben, I'm such a Reuben fan. Eat here enjoy yourself and be grateful for food that is made with love! Gooooo take two

I love all vegan cafes. I've been a vegetarian for 19 years and there's nothing worse than going to a restaurant and not finding a single option to eat. I love the variety of this cafe. Their ice oat milk latté was delicious. Customer service was great and fast. They have a small dining area but it's easy enough to do take out. We will be back.

Only downside is no bathroom. Service and food are outstanding. Freshly prepared and delicious. Drip coffee full of flavor. Desserts are decadent. We enjoyed the southwest omelet. Would be a regular if we lived in the area.

Mediocre food, coffee, and dessert. Not much to look forward to or return for. Unless there are absolutely no other options. Which there aren't in the area.

I'm from out of town had chia tea latte and it was great, they steep w full leaf and sugar so no fake syrups!! Will definitely be back!

They are correct vegan found isn't bland. Service was friendly and the place itself has a nice artistic vibe. Very happy to support this business. I had the original crane with chips and salsa. It was perfect.

I cannot even explain how good the Lox Bagel is. Yes it is all vegan. I've eaten real lox with bagels and cream cheese in my day ... but THIS is better. Wonderful vibe. Lovely owner. This place is a MUST.

Was in the neighborhood for work & hadn't had Take Two in almost year, stopping was a must! I didn't get pictures but I ordered the curry chickpea sandwich as a wrap and it was so good! The curry with the cranberries in this sandwich just works, trust me lol.

Saw the lobster roll posted on Instagram and had to go try it! Upon arrival, i could tell i was going to really enjoy this experience. The girl behind the counter was super helpful, and turned out to be the owner. She answered every question with a smile and dealt with our indecisiveness with patience. So after a full menu inspection we Decided to go all-in and do a little menu sampler style late lunch. Best decision I've made in a while. The lobster roll; i wish I'd ordered 3 more!!! It's so friggin good. It's also an off the menu special and is not on the permanent menu, YET!! (Fingers crossed). The Rueben; legit, it's the perfect sandwich. Watch out Sub-culture, she's comin for ya!! The breakfast burrito; what sort of heavenly deliciousness did I just eat?! Got it w the jalapeños and avacado (xtra charge) and was that the best damn call. Last, the everything bagel w cream cheese and lox, tomato onion and capers. Ooooo weeee! This was So satisfying. This place had better be pinned on every vegans Google map RIGHT NOW! The chai tea latte was probably the most decadent hot beverage I've had possibly ever?? I can't say enough good things about my experience. The prices were on point, not a bank breaker at all!! Which was probably the most surprising part of our visit. 4 generous sized vegan entrees with sides and two hot drinks, under $60! The owner was there and chatted it up with us while we ate. It was clear she's very passionate about her craft! The area needs more restaurant owners like her. Also grabbed a super cool original art piece right off the wall, framed for $40! Felt good to support a local spot and even better to feel so welcomed! Will be back regularly 100000%. Please keep the lobster rolls!! Please please please!! Omg, I'm drooling thinking about it rn. Yummmmmm FIVE STARS, even tho they deserve SIX!!

Shoutout to Take Two Cafe! They're making a ton of their own delicious vegan options and bringing in other vegan baked goods. I went on Saturday when they had donuts from a local baker and went back on Sunday and tried the toast with carrot lox. Sooo yummy! Friendly vibe, great murals - overall great addition downtown and a great option for people looking for a vegan or gluten free option or anyone looking to try something plant based.

Be aware it's all Vegan. I'm not but I decided it would be interesting to try a Vegan Reuben. It was tasty. But, it didn't match up to a real Reuben. Do try the chipotle potato salad if you don't mind a little spice. Maybe next time, I'll try the burger.

Ate here after Van Gogh Immerive experience. The food was very good! but, what's with no bathroom on site? Isn't that a law in New York?

Inedible omelet (asked for well done & got goo!). Coffee is ok , bring your own cream if you want dairy based (? How hard is it to have some creamer in your self serve fridge?). NO service, limited menu, terrible food & you get to wait on yourself. And EXPENSIVE for the portions. Stay away & go to Dunkin!

I have never posted a Yelp review before & might never again but I love this place so much, this is so necessary. I have lived in so many different cities & states and have NEVER had food this good. I'm impressed by every single thing I try from here. I live 45 minutes away but will happily take the drive for this food at anytime. When I'm having a bad day, I cheer myself up by coming here. When I'm having a good day, I celebrate by coming here. Best part is everyone there is so friendly, personable, and welcoming. This is my favorite place not only in the capital region, but literally everywhere. 10 out of 10, I recommend this place to everyone I talk to.

we haven't been here in person yet, but we've ordered take out and it's great! I think we got the reuben & a chicken/bacon/ranch wrap if I'm remembering correctly - it was a couple months ago, sorry. I wish the hours were extended a bit more, but totally understand that right now isn't the time for that. I can't wait until we live a bit closer and this pannie chills out a bit to come check out the place & the new arcade in person! I think it'll be an awesome piece of "feeling at home" in this area for once.

I will say, this review is not about the food. I was extra excited to try this place. I have been seeing and hearing the buzz of the place for a while. When I walked in, they were a little on the slow side. Not a judgment, just an observation. I spent some time looking at the menus and considering my options. I was disappointed that while I was there, the employees were speaking negatively about other people. Now, I'm no snow flake. I know this kind of thing happens, but when I think of a vegan cafe, I think of love and compassion and this just reminded me of being bullied in high school. I was so turned off by the conversation that I couldn't bare to order. So, while I'm sure the food is good, I'll be spending more time patronizing places that actually feel inclusive and welcoming.
