We had a great time at Takja BBQ house.
Service was excellent, friendly, and explained the ingredients, best combinations, etc. They really have a great crew and are engaging, which is important, because you're going to be seeing your server a lot while they prep the meats for you.
Food was very high quality. The meat was very good quality and tasty - they know what they are doing here. Accoutrements were excellent - the white kimchi was a standout for me, It's the best I've had. The seafood tower was very good by Toronto standards, period. Incredibly fresh and delicious.
The atmosphere is solid, a little tight in spaces like the bathrooms, it's not a big room. The booths are fine.
Value is where things slightly break down for me. I'll say I am comfortable at expensive places and we eat at high end spots often. Takja served some very high quality seafood and meat, great ingredients, and wrapped it in a great service package. The bill was approaching four figures (2 cocktails, 3 beers, 2 mocktails, 4 people Hansang option plus 20% tip). The price is "ok", but you need cloth at the table Takja, and the plain brown paper towels in the bathroom should be those nice cotton-ey ones (you have great soap). The price point needs the little touches in these places.
