My wife and I live nearby and came for our Anniversary. First off, Toronto has some negatives, but being able to dress up and walk to some of the best food in Canada is something very unique to TO. Service was amazing -- attentive, but not intrusive. No rushing, if you wanted to talk about your experience, they were welcoming and informative. If you were in conversation at your table, they silently went about hosting and bbqing. Shout out to Tom and the staff -- amazing job and thanks for making our night a success. The design of the room is nothing short of extraordinary -- the ability for the room to have no hint of smoke or grilled food smells is an amazing feat of HVAC design and thoughtful choices of seating and equipment. Washrooms are upstairs which is a big plus. All the meat -- seafood, pork, beef, was amazing. The brains behind Oroshi's seafood have transferred their mastery of dry-aging to meat. Some of the best pork I've ever had. Tender, full of flavor and excellently balanced with the banchan. We definitely will be back. If we can get a table -- this place was booked solid on a TUESDAY!

We celebrated a birthday at Takja, and the entire staff was so welcoming, and kind throughout the evening. We really appreciated the attention to detail and how subtle and classy the experience was. The rib eye and galbi were delicious and paired beautifully with the banchan (including cabbage salad, jalapeño, homemade ssamjang, wasabi, banchan, white kimchi and more). We also enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, mushrooms and seasonal vegetables (broccolini/cauliflower hybrid, zucchini) and our drinks. I highly recommend: the Barley Mc-Col (it tastes like autumn) the pomegranate bingsoo (especially if you like earl grey) This was definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Toronto, and a great way to eat beef. One underrated aspect of KBBQ is being able to eat your food at the intended temperature (hot off the grill). Looking forward to my next visit.

Google
The food is great, the service is great, the quality is there. I found the matcha strawberry bingsu good but not the lemon pomegranate one. Portions are small considering the price and we weren’t really full. It was a good dinner for sure, just not enough for the price point.

Or son was away for the weekend so my wife and I had a date night and we picked this Korean BBQ restaurant - it was more than perfect - delicious, fresh and dare I say entertaining. We chose the hansang ‘prix fixe’ option so we could try most of the food options. The next time we go we will probably focus on one or two cuts of meet instead. The A5 Wagyu beef was certainly the hit. The Bingsoo dessert was a surprising hit too. If I could give them a 6 out of 5 I would. Highly recommended. Usually we go to a restaurant only once because there are always so many new restaurants but we will come here again for sure

Celebrated my birthday here with a group of 14 - and I'm so glad I did! We all participated in the hansang prix fixe and it was a very special meal. It started light with progressively heavier or fatter dishes served. An elevated take on Korean classics. Service was quick and attentive. Staff were helpful with recommendations and tips. I will definitely be coming back!

Got the set menu with apps and drinks. The entire experience was very good but overpriced for what we got. All of the servers were terrific and cooked everything to perfection. The sides were great, especially the pickled jalapeno. Can't complain about the meal except that, for the price point, I expected more of a wow factor. All of the dishes were great but nothing really stood out as amazing.

Google
Imagine a fine-dining version of KBBQ, with a designated “grillier” servicing the table the whole time. We ordered the Hansang set menu which got us a 6-course meal from appetizer to dessert, including banchans (side dishes) and premium cuts of beef and pork (which i figured drove the $135pp price point). The space was filled out but not overwhelmingly so. Their whole staff was professional, knowledgeable and communicated very well.

Went here to celebrate some big milestones and was happily thrilled with the service, quality and food 😊 The staff was super attentive and the ambiance of the restaurant was intimate but also lively. We opted for the $135 set menu offering amazing cuts of meats, an array of house made banchans, bingsoo to finish. They also gifted us rice wine 💖. The staff will cook for you as you enjoy the experience entirely. Their cocktails were also very tasty a excellent pairing with your meal. Highly recommend if you want to try a different type of kbbq !!

Yelp
Truly enjoyed Takja's Hansang, a table full of food($135 per person) Started with cold seafood salad aka "Naeng Chae" Could not believe how they could bring up so much flavour to go great with seafood from pine nuts dressing. Unlike ceviche there was not much acidity, but it was creamy & delicious. Shrimp, tuna and scallops in the salad were super fresh. Seafood pancake was thick and crispy and Uni from Hokkaido went amazing with the savory pancake. They intentionally underseasoned pancake so it could go well with soy based dipping sauce. For the main course, there were 4 diferent meat served on the table; Short rib ( they add sauce just before they serve) & hangers steak from Guelph, ON, A5 Wagyu striploin from Miyazaki, Japan & Iberico Presa from Salamanca, Spain. My favorite was believe it or not pork from Spain. All the mests were carefully grilled to medium rare & cut off to bite size by the serving staff and was served to my plate. Server stayed with us and made sure we were satisfied with each meat, felt like I had a personal chef at my table. There were fermented squid condiments, ssamjang, flaky yummy salt handpicked from BC served as dipping sauces for the meat. Alrhough each sauce was very tasty, other than salt ( amazing salt!) I did not feel like I needed any additional dipping sauce for my meat. Meat itself was excellent! All the side dishes such as spucy jalapeno, pickles mustard, white kimchi, radish salad were all prepared in authentic Korean style. Using both dry and wet aging process for the meat seem to work to develop the flavor and improve the texture. Caulilini & assorted veggies to grill and fresh veggie to wrap from Tamarack Farm were also super tasty. Stone pot bibimbop was aleo mixed by the server at the table for us. Most of the veggies for bibimbop were special wild ones that you can getin Korea. How authentic! To finish up matcha & strawberry binsu was served. Enjoyed very light icy slushes and they did not go heavy with condensed milk. I had a glass of full bodied Bordeax red wine($19) to go with my meat. However I had a sip of my friend's Superdry Asahi 0.0 ($8) and the best No Alcohol beer I have ever had! Wow. Overall I enjoyed food quality, components, authenticity of Hansang. And was very content with the quality of their hospitality. Will return.

Yelp
A solid 4. I went in with no expectations but this is one elevated korean that I believe will survive!!! Good job!! The meat quality was amazing and the service (the servers cook for you at the table) was so refreshing. Iberico pork was outstanding and the beef was overall excellent. Some things that could be better for me- 1) appetizers - seafood salad? And jeon were just okay. Seafood salad was random (weird sauce) and jeon was super greasy. Could have even done without both. 2) the sauces- I don't know why they didn't have individualized sauce compartments like all other korean restaurants - we've already perfected it- why make everyone share communal bowls and have every sauce touch on a messy side dish? This I did not like at all. 3) some white rice would be welcome especially if wrapping is a suggestion. We got the set meal - I guess we could have asked for it?? The meat was too good to wrap actually. But when I do wrap, I need a little bit of white rice to cut out the salt of the saamjang. 4) please pour beers for customers. We came out not smelling like bbq, which we also really appreciated. We would totally come back. Thank you for existing!!

Yelp
If I could, I would give it 3.5 overall 4.5 stars for service a Servers were nice and friendly. Knowledgeable. We were happy they cooked the meat for us so it's not overcooked. 3 for food 3 for value We got the set dinner so I didn't have to think. I honestly think the appetizer and sides were great but I've had better meat for Korean bbq. we are here for better service and ambience We started at the bar waiting for our table to get ready. That was nice of them to offer the appetizers at the bar if we are hungry and move us over to the table when we're ready. They forgot to give us napkins though. I just devoured the app and realized I had no napkin. Shaved ice on IG looks great but I've also had better ones. Server accidentally / indirectly made a playful comment that my friend looks old ... we were easy going but my friend did tease him and say he could have been offended. No biggie, but we can see someone can take that the wrong way. Menu is fine print font size so probably it's meant for the younger clientele even though it was a mix crowd

Yelp
We ordered the Hangsang set menu and it was an incredible dinner. The seafood pancake was a standout, one of the best I've had, and the uni topping paired well with it. The seafood tower was on the smaller side but made up for it with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The chef selected beef selection was top-tier, featuring high-quality pork, wagyu beef, and a strip loin exclusive to the set menu. All were excellent, the wagyu was our favourite and melted in our mouths. The variety of sides, including different greens (cabbage, perilla leaf, lettuce) and the mushroom bibimbap, that our server recommended we add the squid sauce with took the experience to another level. We ended the night with bingsoo, which had a surprisingly strong flavour but was enjoyable. The service was excellent, our server cooked everything for us, was attentive, and provided great recommendations. Definitely a spot worth trying at least once!

Yelp
Definitely the fanciest Korean bbq I've ever had. Apparently it's the same owner as Mott 32. Seafood pancake was thick and delicious, sujebi clam soup was so umami. The meats were grilled to perfection by our Server. While I thought the grapefruit Binsoo was quite pricey at $24++ it was refreshing especially with the meringue. Service was top notch, he knew when to chime in and when to give us space. The food was delicious as well. Cool space with dry aged meat in the windows. It was the attention to details with the service that really wowed me.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped by for dinner on a Friday night after snagging a last-minute reservation. We'd heard great things about this place and were excited to finally try it. Since we weren't too hungry, we ordered two meat dishes, seasonal vegetables, and seafood pancakes. For the meat, we chose the dry-aged ribeye and prime hanger steak--both were incredibly delicious. The seafood pancake was flavorful but a bit on the heavier side. Our server was super helpful and even cooked the food for us. Overall, the food was fantastic, and we had a wonderful dining experience. Takja BBQ has a more upscale vibe and is perfect for a date night or an intimate gathering with friends.

Yelp
Takja BBQ is a new Korean BBQ spot in Toronto. From the minds behind Oroshi Fish Co. comes this elevated Korean BBQ. They have top notch dry aged meat from A5 Wagyu Ribeye to Iberico Pluma. We got the Hansang which means "A table full of food". They will fill the table for you and you get to try a little bit of everything. It comes with a Seafood tower, seafood pancake, pork and beef, mushroom stone pot rice, and Bingsoo. We ordered Beef tartare which was not part of the Hansang. It was different from any beef tartare I have had before. It was definitely Korean style beef tartare with the gochujang. The ambiance was really modern and clean. Overall, I had a great experience.

Yelp
High end KBBQ place located on College West. This is the first place like this in Toronto as it's like a fancy and pricier KNBQ spot. It's a great restaurant for a date night. The servers cook your meats for you so you don't have to worry about doneness. A lot of their meats are dry aged and nice quality. I definitely recommend getting the seafood pancake as an appetizer. I also loved the different kinds of veggies they gave for ssam wrap. I didn't get a chance to try their shaved ice for dessert which looked super good. I ordered a yuzu spritzer for a.non-alcoholic beverage and really liked it. The servers were very nice, knowledgeable and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised to not smell like kbbq smoke afterwards!

Yelp
Meat quality was alright, the best one was the marinated short rib and the hanger steak! The side dishes and soups however were very tasty and pretty authentic.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, we had the HANGSANG which was a selection that included the seafood tower, the pancake, a cut of pork, three choices of beef including the A5 Wagyu. The meal was terrific, from the flavours to the high quality cut of meat, and the service was excellent. This will be my favourite BBQ place.
