Denver’s Best Spots to Support on Game Day | Eater

"Whether you’re catching a morning, afternoon, or evening game, this Parker pub has food and drinks for the occasion. At brunch, cheer on your team while scarfing down some biscuits and gravy and a bloody mary. Order a plate of nachos and toast with a shot of whiskey and pint of IPA during a mid-day game, or indulge in a rib platter and a stiff drink during Monday night football." - Vox Creative

It was busy even though we came at 2pm, "after lunch hours". They did seem to be understaffed, I asked and yeah our server Bailey (who was great) said the manager just had to call in more staff. Could tell the servers and bartenders were busting their butts serving and cleaning up. It was hard to tell at first who was staff as they weren't wearing anything that marked them as such. (Like a restaurant tee). Watched the bartender (Lauren?) bus and clean tables and serve the bar, she knew her stuff! The food was ok, burgers could have been seasoned better, tbh. But the fries were good. It did seem that most everyone was drinking alcohol all around so I'm assuming there's good prices for that, or it's just a good friendly drinking place too. (I drink water at most places).

Stopped here after a track and field meet at a local middle school. Staff was nice. Establishment was very clean. Food was good. We all devoured it.

I stopped by this place around lunch and was surprised that the bar was almost entirely full. The bartender Lauren was still super fast and friendly. More surprisingly Bob (who I assumed was one of the managers) stopped by to thank me for coming in. He just wanted to thank me for coming and to make sure I had a great experience at Takoda. It turns out Bob is actually the owner. He also made sure I knew they offer a military discount on everything. Cliffs: nice big bar, great service, awesome owner.

We came into town to visit our kids that live in Parker. Unfortunately, I can not give a five star based on service. Came in at lunchtime and wasn't that busy. Never greeted, just sat ourselves. The table was to small and only had one large table and it was taken. Had to use a 4-person table for 5 people. The server came over quickly and took our order. Received order in a timely manner. Never saw the server again. Never asked if we needed refills, nothing. We kept waiting to get our bill so we could leave. Waited 20 minutes to get our bill. Food was good but we won't return.

Last night, the staff was hospitable to my friend and I when we arrived and the bartender apologized to us that the kitchen had just closed (it was my 1st time there/didn't know the kitchen hours). After 3 long days of moving, my friend's knee went out and she could barely walk. The bartender was immediately understanding and asked us to wait while he spoke to the cooks. The cooks agreed to make us something, which SHOUT OUT TO THE COOKS by the way! It was late, and we were too tired and hungry to think of anything else. And then the server was so sweet, she let us know we can pick anything off the menu and was very patient with us. I could tell this team works great together by the level of customer service we received. Thank you all! I'm not from the area but I recommend, especially during sunset. What a view!

First floor was packed at 2pm on a Saturday because they don’t usually open the top floor until a certain time. Seemed to be understaffed for the day counted 2 servers and 2 bartenders. Took a little time to get a menu after seating but our server Bailey was great. Attentive and helpful to several tables. Everyone doing hard work actually (seating folks, cleaning tables, running food) as more and more people came in where they had to open the second floor to accommodate the influx of customers. Food came out fast and was hot. Fries were good. My burger was a little unseasoned but the Mushrooms were flavorful. I’m not sure what a mushroom Swiss burger came with lettuce, tomato, and onions. Onions were dry though and I didn’t use them as one bite had no flavor to it. Only downside was. There are 2 doors and telling which one is the entrance was tough, and I guessed wrong. Also was a little hard to tell who was the wait staff versus customers due to no logo-ed t-shirt or smock(I think it’s called?). I don’t drink alcohol but the bar was full so maybe good prices or tasty drinks for the time of day they were still busy. That all said I will be back but probably off hours like a lunch mid week or something and will add more recommendations then.

I wanted to like this place so much because the employees were kind and the atmosphere was good but the food was just terrible. We had a French dip and Reuben that was so bland and low quality tasting. The chicken fingers for my daughter were thick and hard with too much breading that it was difficult to eat. I would try the drinks next time but definitely wouldn’t get food.

Google
The food was good, definitely crowded so some of the orders were incorrect but we are them anyways since the servers were swamped. DESPITE ALL THE SIGNS EVERYWHERE SAYING TO KEEP YOUR CHILDREN SEATED, there were a ton of kids running around all over like a McDonald's playplace. I felt so bad for the staff having kids run by them while they're trying to balance a bunch of plates. 5/5 stars for Takoda. -5/5 stars for the customers that brought in their entire baseball team of kids.

Yelp
I came here for the first time about a week ago to meet up with some family in the area. I would say this place is okay overall. They had plenty of TV's which was perfect as it was Sunday and NFL games were on. They had every game on possible which was nice! There is a downstairs and an upstairs to the tavern. Both have their own separate bar. It was fairly busy which is promising! We ended up sharing a few different appetizers. While ordering, the waitress did not write down one of our items, and then she wrote down the incorrect one for another... She came back to our table and said "I am sorry, what was the second thing you asked for? All that I wrote down was fried." Kind of upsetting that she wasn't paying attention for the 30 seconds we were ordering. We also ordered the green chili cheese fries, but she brought us the sweet potato and fried green bean basket instead... Not sure how you get those mixed up. The food was delicious overall! The cheese curds were nice and warm and were perfect bite sized pieces. The green chili cheese fries were delicious once we received them. The potato skins were probably the best thing we ordered! The fried cauliflower was not good... it was somehow undercooked in the middle, but the outside was very soggy and gross. I would maybe go back one more time to give it another try, but I am in no rush.

Yelp
We had dinner on a whim here and we should have just skipped. The portions were clownish large, but definitely below average. I had a burrito that was stuffed with soo much unmelted cheese, it was just ick. They poured the whole bag of shredded cheese in warmed it up and served it. My hubby had a burger. He said it was average and the fries were very disappointing. We'd skip the food in the future.

Yelp
Takoda is remarkably average. While it has two levels and a decent amount of seating, it feels somehow caught in between a bar that happens to serve food or a cafe that happens to have alcohol. The menu isn't very big but has all the normal things you would expect at a cafe with the bonus of a small Mexican food section. Our server was okay and decently attentive but did not have any enthusiasm whatsoever. It felt like she hated her job. The food was nothing special and wouldn't be the reason I returned, but it was cost effective.

Yelp
Fantastic view from the upper deck especially plus great food and service! We will be back!!

Angela T.

Yelp
Strong Trump vibe. I literally lost my appetite. Food was okay- our server was adorable. I hope she can find another job and get out of this place.

Kay T.

Yelp
Cups were dirty, burgers were cold. We both ate about 3/4 of the plate only. Server didn't even say anything about it when she took our plates. Had she asked "how is it?" We would've had the opportunity to say "not good"! Unfortunately, she never came by after the food came. The chairs outside are super uncomfortable too. Won't be back!

Yelp
Went in for the first time ever and the first story was really stinky. It smelled like a bathroom in there. Food was very mediocre. Service was good though our server was very sweet very helpful the owner even stopped by to check in. Just very basic bar food not a ton of flavor they have a lot of good deals on drinks id probably only go in to drink.

Yelp
Came up for game 6 with nuggets tonight and although the Murray couldn't make a bucket to save his life, Takoda didn't disappoint. Service was top notch. New server Maiya was so nice and prompt with our orders. She made a slow start of a game much better. We had drinks and a few apps. Blue Buffall fries were good and nachos also hit the spot. Love this local joint and even if Murray never gets his sh*t together I'll still be back.

Yelp
We stopped in after work to check the place out. It had a friendly environment and the wait staff was great, particularly Brooke. We didn't catch any live music (it was a Thursday) though. I tried their brisket sandwich, which wasn't bad, but it was a bit small. My wife really enjoyed the loaded nachos.

Yelp
This is a neighborhood bar and grill with reasonable prices and friendly staff. It's better to eat at home--food seems mostly frozen and fried to order type thing. Bartenders are super friendly and accommodating. Friendly crowd, seems like a lot of regulars. A Cheers type place as somebody else mentioned!

Roland M.

Yelp
It's been a few years since we visited Takoda. After a below average breakfast we decided not to go back, service and food was not acceptable. Today 11-11-24 I thought we should give them another chance. Arrived About 5:30 plenty of empty tables. We sat at a high top and waited. Waited and waited After 6 minutes and none of the servers acknowledged us. We walked out for the last time. We tried to make eye contact with two servers but they just didn't seem interested. What a shame

Maryam S.

Yelp
The burger was good but the kids chicken fingers was tooo fried and not edible. It is kid friendly but the food for our little one was not edible so we wouldn't be eating there.

Yelp
This place was absolutely wonderful! This was our first time going here and honestly, we were starving that day so didn't have high expectations. But when we entered, we were greeted by what seemed like the owner of the restaurant and he was very nice with us. He was very welcoming and so were the waiters. We're also very thankful that the waitress was patient with us, especially my family who takes a while to order sometimes. When the appetizers came, I noticed it was absolutely delicious. I forgot to take pictures of my food but I ordered the chief burger and let me just say, that burger was bomb! The meat was well-done as I asked and the fries were crunchy and very yummy. 10/10 do recommend this place! :)

Yelp
I came in to see Lauren, but Morgan was working. Which both are amazing bartenders! Great service and a fun atmosphere! I also enjoyed my wings as well. My Old Fashion was perfectly made! Lots of local beers on tap and a full service bar. Lots of TV'S to watch games and a two bars to sit at. They offer a huge patio and beautiful views! Great place for large parties and families. They also host live bands. I recommend this place to hangout!

Yelp
Not a bad place to go to have a few drinks in a social type environment. The food is average at best. Usually plenty of seating and not a big wait.

Jay G.

Yelp
Not only did the place smell like a giant fart (not the first time) when we walked in this Saturday morning, the bloodies taste like the cheapest mix you can get. I also asked if they could turn the volume on on a college football game , the bartender said they only do that for big Bronco games. How dare a patron ask for football volume on Saturday morning college football. We will not be back. We were going to get breakfast but left and went to hilltop.

Yelp
I stop by for a drink and a meals 9 or 10 times a year. I stopped in yesterday 3/16 about 6pm. I was greated at the door by a guy with a Takoda shirt on I assume a manager. I sat at the bar, there were a few people there by not really busy and seemed like plenty of staff. I sat at the bar for more than 10 minutes watching three employees and the manager play with the TV. I was about to leave when the bartender finally ask what I wanted to drink. I ordered a dirty vodka martini and a glass of water, she asked me if I wanted a menu and I said yes. She made my drink and went about making other drinks, no water and no menu. I was about half way done with my drink when she brought me the water and menu. Despite all this I decided I would have another drink and a burger. She never came back to see what I wanted to eat. I finished my drink and pushed my empty glass forward. She walked by me several time with out saying any thing. At this point I was done and had to ask her to cash me out. This was some of the worst bar service I have experienced. I write this because I am getting sick of bad service especially when a drink cost $12.50. I won't be back.

Yelp
We had decided a long time ago, not to return to this restaurant but at the urging of my wife, we returned. Last time I ordered a club sandwich and the plate was swimming in water, like it had just came out of the washer and not dried off, so I dealt with a soggy bread sandwich. This time I ordered the Fish and chips, well I should say, eventually ordered Fish and Chips. We walked in and we picked seat and a server came over, got our drink order and returned within about 1 minute with the drinks. GREAT!!! She asked if we were ready to order, Well it's only been a minute and I wasn't too sure and my wife hadn't finished reading half of the menu, so we asked for like one more minute to narrow down what we wanted. And folks.....that was the last we saw of her. So after 15 minutes passed, my wife gets up, walks over to where the other servers were hanging out and asked if someone could take our order. She described the server we originally had and the other server she was talking to said. "Oh I haven't see her in quite a while, I don't know where she's at"... And at the 16 minute mark, she shows up to our table. I ordered the fish and chips, it eventually arrives and it looked kinda dark. So I go to break off a piece and it doesn't budge.. Hummmm odd... So I tried really hard and it eventually Snaps in half. Yes S N A P E D apart. Like a hard Ginger snap cookie. I looked inside for fish and found a hard baked white substance. No moisture just a thick leathery outer coating of breading that had gone into the deep fryer while the cook went off to something else and eventually returned maybe 5 or 10 minutes too late. So Nummy.... trying to chew a rock in my mouth. So I tried to coat it in the tartar sauce. Oh their batting a 1000 here. It was Miracle Whip with only lemon juice added. That's not Tartar Sauce for fish and chips. No relish what so ever in it. I happen to mention our experience to my neighbors. They laughed and said they ate there once too and never again. How does this place stay in business? Maybe its the Bar that brings the revenue in because you can't stay in business with out returning customers. That's basic business 101. and before you ask... No we didn't get any refills on a soda and Ice Tea. They should change the name to... The Dump.

Yelp
Love Takoda Tavern- the food is delicious, wonderful service and beautiful view from the incredible up-top patio! A great place to relax!!

Yelp
I'm a regular for breakfast mostly but for lunch sometimes. I feel like it's Cheers where everyone knows my name. The owners, Bob and Nancy I think are good, solid people and their love for military folks is evident. Lauren and Kendra are my most favorites and they give the perfect amount of snark AND great service. I will keep coming back forever. The reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the eggs. They do not know what over medium means. They are always WAY over easy. I'd rather they overcook them. I'd like to give the kitchen a lesson on how to cook over medium eggs. It's not difficult, it's patience. However, if you want a Reuben, you have to come to this place. It's really the best I've tried in the area. I really love this place for the family feel. My dad and I are there at least once a week. Just learn how to cook eggs. Haha.

Yelp
Great place for decent food, good music and great drinks. Military and family friendly!

Yelp
Needs better staffing!!!!!!! Poor waitress. It was only her and the bartender working a busy Sunday night. I didn't get her name but she was awesome. Menu is very diverse. Bit confused how a place can sell Fish n chips, chicken tenders, AND fajitas all at the same time?! But they do it!! I suppose it works for the whole crowd! Decent priced drinks and pretty reasonable food prices. I believe the owner came to our table to check up on us which was awesome. But still, poor girls!!! It was so busy inside and outside seating and I just felt so bad

Yelp
Let's just say, I'm a fan of anywhere I can walk to for a beer. After dropping my mother-in-law off at her place in Parker, she suggested dinner on a patio. Because we had sampled some of her boozy souvenirs from Wisconsin, we opted to walk to this joint, and glad we did. STAR # 1 = The space features a LARGE circular bar, various tables throughout, with high top tables near the bar and an extensive wrap around patio. We chose to soak up the warm breeze and found a spot in the corner. Not only is the patio spacious, but comfortable and easy to sit back and relax. The vibe here is very laid back and the perfect place to catch any game playing on the large tv's inside. STAR # 2 = Despite having a large party inside, staff wasn't overwhelmed but very welcoming, friendly and greeted us promptly. Our little waitress was full of conversation and highly recommended a few items on the menu, to which we were intrigued. She also offered us various specials running and gave us plenty of time to choose our meals. We saw her frequently but not enough to be annoying, STAR # 3 = I'm totally a beer and chicken wing kind of girl - so I opted for the 10 piece, medium spicy chicken wings and a side salad (because you know), all of which was fresh and delicious! The wings were perfectly marinated and cooked just right (and not frozen or old!) - With a little char! The hubs was craving steak fajitas, which was just the right amount and totally hit the spot. Our other offerings included a brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries, which were so delicious! Portions were ample and we left with full bellies. STAR #4 = Location is easy peasy - on the corner of Hess and has plenty of parking. Sure, the surrounding businesses have their busy times, but don't fret - parking is never an issue. With the upcoming football season, beer specials and short distance to walk, I know we'll be back!

Yelp
Amazing service, drinks, food and view! Something for everyone! A great way to welcome a new birthday or just have dinner any given night! Love the fajitas, kids menu, mules and apps! Can't go wrong! Bob, the owner, is so warm and welcoming to all! A great, family owned, Parker establishment!

David H.

Yelp
Though the food is pretty good for bar food the drinks are a bit weak. The real issue is the fact that they're ripping off their customers by charging a 3% credit-card surcharge when you pay with a credit card. It is legal in Colorado to charge a surcharge to use a credit card as a form of payment but the max allowed by law is 2% and that's been in effect since July 2022. Also, they're not allowed to charge a cc surcharge if you pay with cash, check, gift card or debit card and I paid with a debit card on my last visit and still got hit with the 3% surcharge. They may be doing this on accident but either way they should be treating their customers fairly and following the law. Lastly, by law you have to post signage that is clear and visible at all your entrances stating you charge customers a credit-card surcharge fee. They have no signage at any entrance and you only see the fee after you get your bill. Do better Takoda Tavern. Learn the law and stop overcharging your customers. Shame on you.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday night at about 6 pm as most other places in Parker and Castle Rock were on a 120min+ wait. There was live music being set up as we walked in for a 7:30pm show. There is a host stand but no one ever came. I saw a sign that stated "Additional seating upstairs" so I walked up, and asked the Bartender if it was open seating, she responded "yes" meaning the seating is, seat yourself, first come first serve. No problem, we had 6 people so we put two tables together but there are NO signs to tell you that and we stood at that host stand for a while before I chose to seek out help. Once seated we were greeted quickly and the server visited often and was attentive. The food was delicious, with nice heat on the green chili. The burger, fries, and onion rings were very good. But, refills on alcohol took FOREVER! There are two bars so the one we were sitting near, only had to service the few tables and the 2-3 people at the bar itself. The server was apologetic but, most of us finished our meals before we had our second drink. I will be back for the food for sure.

Yelp
Takota is normally good but the last few times we have been there have been rough. It seems like the day servers are the "C" team and not real friendly. Food has been mediocre at best and today wasn't any better. The attached photo is a conversation I had with another local couple today. Hopefully they can turn it around.
google avatar

Bryan B.

Yelp
Food is not good. Burrito meat is poorly seasoned and tastes old. They do not clean their soda fountains daily. They do not change their fryer grease as they should resulting in poor quality fried foods. Do not buy the curds. Numerous young women who have worked there have reported abusive treatment by the owner. This is a location with amazing potential. The current owner should sell the location to someone who cares about quality and wants to make it a destination in Parker.
google avatar

Mai N.

Yelp
This place has your typical sports bar foods. They have a full bar and multiple flat screen TVs. I ordered the wings and my boyfriend ordered a burger. We brought our 5 month old and didnt run into any issues with space to park our stroller next to our table. The staff was friendly and though it seemed like there was only one working the floor and one at the bar, she was able to get everything done at a good pace. We went on a snowy day and the view of Parker from the restaurant was beautiful! (Just moved here so still getting used to it!)

Sandi C.

Yelp
Good food and great service! The ambiance is nice and so are the views. Drinks were fantastic too!

Yelp
Dinner tonight with neighbors. The food here is so good. I had the Bacon Bleu Hamburger which has blue cheese crumbles and big strips of bacon on top of a hamburger that is grilled to perfection as they as you how you want it finished. The accompanying fries are done to perfection as well. My wife had the BLT and I know is was awesome as from the moment it was delivered I didn't hear a sound out of her till she was finished and then all she had was a BIG SMILE across her face. The place was packed as usual but the service provided by Marina was superior. She kept her eye on us and our beer and wine were always full. Takoda Taveren is a great local place to get good food and service. As the weather changes and gets nicer for sitting outside, their upper deck patio has an awesome view of the Rockies. Lots of parking, large interior with lots of social distanced tables. So make a plan to come to Takoda Taveren, you'll be glad you did.

Yelp
Fun place. Great bartenders on main level. 2 bars on 2 levels. Great outdoor deck Thanks Lauren for the great service

Yelp
We were waiting for the new location to finish before trying this local spot and the numbers of cars out front show how popular it is. There were tables of large groups and definitely the local, adult crowd. But this place is not for us. We had to wait for a table and went to the bar to get a drink. The bar was busy too and so we had trouble flagging down someone to help us. The guy sitting in front of us that had obviously been there a while (it was just before 5) and heckled us and the bartender a bit. When we were seated at our table, things were fine. The waitresses are dressed like Hooters, skimpy-dressed with black tank tops and I just don't think that's necessary. She was nice. The menu is confusing. There are salad, burger, specialty sandwich categories and then a whole extra page of "specials" that are all over the place. It's not weekly specials or happy hour specials, just a catch all of other food options? Weird. The burgers we got (one off the special menu page with a sweet chili sauce) were lacking. The bun was cold straight from a bag. The tomato had obviously been sitting a while and wasn't good. Burger cooked however (didn't even ask so I guess well done is fine?). The sauces and jalapenos were also from a jar/can and you could taste the profit margins. I ordered onion rings (extra) and got 4 total. The fries were obviously not made on premise either. I mean, my burger was over $18 and for what we got I would have paid $6. If their prices matched the quality, we would come back honestly. I hate leaving bad reviews for local places because I'm also not going to Red Robin but this is not the place for a good burger. It is the place or an easy going cheap burger. Which is fine for a local spot if priced right. A lot of other people ordered the quesadilla (again, special menu page?) so maybe that's the thing to get? It is still $15 though...

Yelp
Friendly staff, clean place - 3 floors. Lots of space and seats. The parking lot was overflowing. The food and drinks were good. The manager stopped by to check on us and thanked us for coming. People looked happy here. We will return

Yelp
Went with my daughter last Friday night for her 23rd birthday. Wait staff is friendly, the food is good and the prices are reasonable. The owner walks around to each table checking in with the people making sure things are right. Great place for a scenic view of our Colorado sunset.

Yelp
I had looked forward to eating there. Very clean and they recently built this new location across from their old building so I deduced it can only be good. I had heard many great things about Takoda and every time I drove past there the parking lot was packed. I love the fact they cater and support to veterans and active military, as I am a veteran myself. It's a very wide open and could use a little more decor to make it look less morgue-like. They have an variety of food that doesn't really fit one theme, which is interesting. Their beer choices are on par with most breweries or bars in Denver. Drinks and appetizers came out quick, which was expected on a slow Saturday afternoon. After that, the service went downhill. It took over an hour and fifteen minutes for our food to arrive; for a Philly melt and a shredded brisket sandwich that wasn't even shredded. Our food was moderately warm and dried out as if it had been sitting under a heating lamp for an hour. Coincidence? To top it off, our waitress, who was nice, blamed the kitchen when it was blatantly obvious she had forgotten to put in our order or she simply just forgot about us. Had it been the kitchen, any knowledgeable server would have sent a manager to our table to explain. The couple across from us waited 25 minutes for their food and one of their entrees were comped. I wasn't looking for a free meal ticket, but just an explanation. Instead I got an apology from the server on behalf of the kitchen. Really? I really had high expectations for Takoda Tavern, but this experience just ruined it.

Yelp
We really really like Takoda it's a great place . We love what the owner stands for. In the last two months we've been here several times and the staff just does not appear to be on top of things and on the ball and it just seems to be the patients are running the asylum around here the owner needs to step in and try and help these people learn how to be efficient and effective when they're wandering around the restaurant and doing things these ladies are running themselves ragged and they need more help

Yelp
Have read the reviews, have never bothered to try it. They've moved into a new building and we were bored with everything else around, so we gave it a shot. Good: *Really cool rooftop patio with an awesome view (when you're standing). *Really nice and fast wait staff. They really hustled and were very polite. Not Good: *The really cool rooftop patio has tables so low, you have to be a giraffe to see over the half-wall making it impossible to enjoy the view. *The food....think Sysco type workplace cafeteria food. So so so mediocre. Recommendation: *Get some high-top tables on the patio. *Upgrade your menu. When people are unwinding from work, the last thing they want is to eat workplace quality food.
google avatar

Abe M.

Yelp
They recently moved to a larger building right across the parking lot from their last location. It's bigger, but not necessarily better. I ordered an old fashioned which came as a watered down half-pour of sub-terrainian bourbon , "elegantly" crafted over a mash of radioactive pink cherries and orange peels. A pull off an Old Crow bottle would have been more satisfying. Can't say the egg roll appetizer was much better. They were obviously cooked in hot oil, since the outside was crisp and just under burnt, but the inside was mushy like porridge. Not sure what texture they are going for, but to me, it doesn't work.

Yelp
This is a great spot for lunch, dinner, or just to hang out and watch some games. Layout is open and inviting. There is a dish for everyone. Best part, service. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in. Prompt, friendly service is hard to find, but they've nailed it here. We'll be back and highly recommend this fine establishment. Oh, and they're supportive of the community and veteran friendly. That alone should bring you in!

Yelp
Ordered the chilli fries which I thought would be red chilli but was surprised with green chili instead. Pleasently surprised with the heat & flavor. They would get a solid 4. We both ordered the Takoda Bison burgers and I must say they were a solid 3. No beer on tap tonight, something about keg issues so we had to order bottle and glass of wine. Beer selection 0 per my other half, wine was ok. Environment had older crowd, young waitress that definitely contribute to the male crowd. Our waitress was three days in and was a sweetheart

Yelp
What was suppose to be a great Fathers Day breakfast with my Dad (who came to visit from FL) was a terrible experience from the gecko. We sat at a table and didn't get greeted for over 5 minutes. Finally Laura came to get our drink order and said they were short staffed and rolled her eyes. My Dad then asked for a cup of coffee towards the end of our meal and she had the audacity to say "I'm gonna gauge your eyeballs out" and had a mean face on. The said "no more coffee i can bring you a soda" I'm sorry if she was being sarcastic but that was not the way to go about it. We will never go back!

Yelp
We have been going here for the past ~2 years and have had a relatively good experience. Decent pub grub and cold beer. We have 3 littles and have never had an issue. However, walked in today and saw a sign stating "Ensure all kids remain at their seats at ALL times" which honestly would not have been a problem. I just don't like the idea of businesses that are so openly anti-family so we walked right back out. Will not be dining here go forward and will tell all other individuals with and without kids to do the same. In the future they should address families/kids that are being an issue rather than turn away all potential families with such statements. Just one guys opinion on the matter though....

Yelp
Horrible service horrible food!!! I don't see how the place stays in business ... it just goes to show the people who go there obviously aren't going there for the food.

Yelp
I always feel at home at Takoda! The service is always good! My favorite bartenders are Gia and Annie. They have dry dick apricot on tap. The taco salad, crab cakes, and buffalo fries are my personal favorite. The new building is off the hook. I can't wait to sit in the roof top this summer!

Yelp
Our party of 12 is leaving Takoda's right now from a delicious fish fry! They were so accommodating of our past-minute large party-- the staff went above and beyond on a hugely busy night. I am really grateful they helped me out and made the evening a success. The fish fry for $10 is four large pieces of flakey fish, golden and perfect, with fries and cole slaw. Beer is a great selection on tap. They even had live music. We will be back!

Yelp
Great place, very military friendly! We loved sitting outside on the porch on a beautiful day views of the mountains from the hillside too!

Yelp
I hate to be writing this review, usually takoda is pretty good about their service and food quality but I went in here with my girlfriend since she had never been. We sat ourselves Which I've done in the past with no issue, we had one waitress come up to us after a few minutes, long enough that I had already pulled up the menu on my phone. The waitress came up to us and handed us a physical menu and we ordered our drinks and while those were being grabbed the second waitress came up to us with menus in hand and asked us what we'd like to drink. We told her that the other waitress was already grabbing us drinks. We got our drinks and then sat there for at least 30 minutes (unfortunately not an exaggeration) when we finally decided it was better to just ask for the check for our 2 drinks and leave. After that it still took almost 5 minutes to catch the attention of one of the waitresses(the one who took the drink order originally) to get the check for us to leave. I was pretty bummed since the food here is pretty good but waiting for over 30 made it hard for us to justify staying any longer, I assume both waitresses thought the other was helping us but the fact neither came back to ask us for a refill since both of our drinks was empty by that point goes to show there's some lack of communication going on between staff
