"The all-day coffee shop and bar from two Northside Social alums brought pour-overs, rotating art exhibits, and mixed drinks to downtown Takoma Park in 2017. The popular cafe has since doubled its seat count by growing into the space next door. A custom espresso machine built for the restaurant is fed a strict diet of Counter Culture Coffee, and a front counter with a white quartz top features a display case stocked with pastries and other impulse buys. Open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. with cocktails, beer, and wine, too." - Tierney Plumb

"Great for groups or intimate coffee dates, Takoma Beverage has a full coffee menu, bakery, and options for entrees. There are comfy couches to lounge on or tables open for a work session. Don’t be surprised if there are toddlers crawling under the tables while their parents lunch or dogs tied up out front while owners grab an iced coffee. The loaded avocado toast is a favorite, as is the pain au chocolat." - Claudia Rosenbaum

Best croissant I’ve had in the US. I’m a Chai tea latte connoisseur and usually have to ask for more chai, not here. Loved this place. Their WiFi is not the best. Unreliable. Still here and will have to leave because it is too slow

Google
We really enjoyed this place. We tried the salmon patty slider and the stew. Both were very good. This is a quaint place with great service. You can buy wines off the shelf and consume with no cork fee. I would definitely recommend this place.

Google
So... I love this place. The people who work here must be the most intentional and kind folks, ever. I begrudgingly put five stars, not because you all deserve less but because the tomato soup needs a permanent residency on the menu. The number of days, I've had to eat other delicious soups while thinking of the tomato soup is unjust. So Danny, for me, please put the crowd fave on. Love and hugs,

Stop by here on March 8, Monday and the food is so fresh. Had Lentil soup and prime rib sandwich. Had the fish dinner along with fries. You get a good quality of food nice and fresh. Everything was fresh and absolutely yummy 😋 if I could give you a (10) I would. Just took my friends this past weekend so we can get some good food. My friend she had the fish sandwich and ate the whole sandwich. It took me 2 days to finish my sandwich but it was still good left overs. The prime rib sandwich is my best dish and that Lentil soup is so yummy. They got my attention the first day I visit the restaurant/carry out. On Sunday’s they have a market in the back of the parking lot. Good food great customer services I will keep my friends coming you will not be disappointed in the food or employees. I appreciate the services and food. Finally, came back 2day OCT 29, I wasn’t hungry but my best friend want to eat here after I told him about the food. He ordered Chicken fingers was like breast of chicken and hamburger and fries 🍟 and he ate everything without any hesitation. I laughed at eating all that food. He did say best burger he tasted in along time. Good food 👍🏾 Thanks for just fabulous services.

Google
I love a salad/bowl that goes hard on sauce. The hummus bowl is SO flavourful and probably has 1/3C of hummus in it so I ended up bringing my leftovers home to make another salad. So delicious and not skimping on condiments at all!

While visiting my daughter, took my one year old grandson out for brunch. My husband and I placed our order. We got our coffees promptly and they were well done. However, 30 minutes later, after seeing other customers come and go with their food, I asked about our food. We were told the kitchen was very busy due high volume of customers. Ok, waited another 15 minutes and asked again. A few minutes later the server appeared with deflated looking waffles and dried out eggs stating that our food had been ready a while ago but they didn’t realize? No apology was offered and no attempt to make up for their lack of proper service. I declined the food, asked for bill for coffees and was told by manager they would be on the house. Small gesture and big disappointment. Will not be going back 😕

Google
A Great place for coffee, beverage with some nice food options. They have a good breakfast menu including a few pastries to choose from. The happy hour menu is very reasonable. I loved to avocado & black bean toast either mesclun salad, cojito cheese and two poached eggs. The service is always good.

Google
I went to this place in a sat afternoon, it was busy. You have to order up front and pick a table and they will deliver the food. The food looked delicious but I haven’t tried it this time. I had the coffee which was good. There is a brunch menu and dinner menu. I would like to go again and try the breakfast. On Sunday tongue have a farmers market around this block.

Yelp
What a lovely little place that I'm glad to know exists. There's a charm about Main Street Takoma that I know never loses its spark. Restaurants like Takoma Bev Co. definitely add to that charm. I stopped in one Saturday afternoon to meet a friend for a light brunch. We were looking for something hyper-local with an eclectic menu that wouldn't break the bank and this restaurant checked all the boxes. This location is both coffee shop and sit-down diner that features wholesome classics with a rustic twist. You over via a QR code that's on the table which takes you to the Toast site/app. There's both indoor seating and outdoor seating, so depending on the weather you can enjoy the weather outside or the buzzing energy in the dine-in space. For food, I ordered the Housemade Quiche which featured ham and cheese and came with a garden side salad. My friend ordered a warm salad. We both every much enjoyed our meals and they were the perfect portions. Even though the seating area is quaint, it didn't feel packed and we never felt rushed. The only thing I didn't like was parking is so hard to find in this area, but that's totally out of the restaurant's control so I'm just making the point as something to consider if you do plan to patronize the area. Overall, Takoma Bev excels at great food, good vibes and great service.

Yelp
I was here for the first time on Sunday. It's a very cozy store. The muffin tasted more like corn bread...maybe I wasn't reading the so by correctly but it's good. The latte was ok was a bit light & too foamy, tasted more like a cappuccino instead of latte. The service was good. I'd comeback again.

Parisa A.

Yelp
I've visited this spot twice now and tried different beverages each time. Both the chai and cappuccino are excellent choices! I added some vanilla to my cappuccino, but the flavor wasn't very noticeable. That said, I really enjoy the vibe here, and the staff is super friendly. My only wish is that there were more seating options.

Brittany L.

Yelp
Mini Review -Quaint favorite cafe and coffee spot in Takoma -easily accessible from metro - offers indoor and outdoor seating -location serves coffee, food, and even has a bar -wines by bottle for sale and some nice other merchandise

Ashley R.

Yelp
I was craving a burger and I was not about to pay $40 for delivery. Google told me that Takoma Beverage Co was closest with decent reviews. I ordered a burger and it was ready on the shelf when I got there. If I didn't have the dog in the car with me I would have dined inside because it was very nice dark mood lighting with wine bottles everywhere. I will definitely have to come back to dine in especially since it is right down the street. The burger was good! Dining in would ensure that's it's hot when you eat it. The outside was a little more charred than I like but honestly it was still good. The bacon could have been pulled off a little sooner though (only reason to deduct a star because it was $2.50 and borderline burnt. I would really want to rate it 4.5). Other than that minor deduction this was good! Fries were clearly a potato once and tasted very fresh. Will try the duck fat fries next time because I bet they hold the flavor well.

Jose M.

Yelp
It's a good coffee shop with cocktails and food. I liked the burger, empanadas, and fries. The indoor and outdoor seating areas are comfortable and sufficient. My one knock is that it was hard to get any kind of guidance on parts of the menu from the staff, and they don't really engage with you while you are there (but maybe that's a positive to you!).

Courtney R.

Yelp
The service is the best part! Takoma Park is just a really friendly neighborhood and Takoma Bev exudes that. Cute neighborhood vibe but lively on a Saturday morning. I'll be honest, the food was just okay. I had the salmon toast which was super flavorful but the bread was stale and the poached egg on the side was really bad. I'll be back to try other things but it's worth stopping in if you're in the area

Asha S.

Yelp
Takoma Bev is one of my favorite cafe eateries in the dmv! They have been around for the longest time and I am so happy they are still with us. It's a great work study location , food is reasonably priced, espresso shots are always pulled right and the food is great as well. The wine and cocktail selections are all good as well. There's no other coffee shop around in this area and honestly I like that way. Locals favorite for sure.

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Partner got the day off, so we came here on an adventure! The weather was perfect for the outdoor dining area as we were greeted by the bright signage of Tacoma Bev! We decided to eat indoors, and the interior is really lovely! The dark woods paired with the eclectic local artworks makes it place feel very homey. I had a pistachio and honey kouign-aman, the breakfast bowl with added avocado, and an iced latte. Everything was delicious, and it made the start to our little adventure a delight! Wish they hadn't of been sold out of their t-shirts in my size!

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Madison was excellent! Thank you:-) She was so friendly when bringing our food and helpful with suggestions on additional food selections. We took her advice and got the green smoothie- delicious! Such a great relaxing place!

Linda V.

Yelp
Had this on my try out list for a long time and finally thought I give it a try for dinner given I was in the area. Well I'm sort of disappointed as the prices and the amount of you get just doesn't match. I paid 8 dollars for a smoothie that was about 6 or 8 oz for two more dollars I could get a more fulfilling smoothie from tropical smoothie so I felt that was a rip off and the taste wasn't anything spectacular just felt like it lacked the tropical part for a "tropical" smoothie. The sliders were 5 bucks and yes I know sliders are meant to be small but once again for the price I just don't deem it to be worth it. I will say the chicken slider was good very flavorful and I would get it as a full normal sized sandwich if they offered it, as for the salmon it lacked flavor and was pretty mushy and kind of fishy smelling. The spinach and cheese empanada was definitely nothing to write home about, bland and more bread than filling and the green sauce that it came with tasted like water. I really hate to say so many negative things as I'm sure other things on their menu are good maybe as far as breakfast goes. I would come back but I just won't be rushing to do so.

Yelp
This is a neighborhood favorite and I've never been here because I've heard it's best for couples, not small kids. So, hubby and I tried it on a weekday and I definitely agree! The space is eclectic, the vibes are awesome, the seating is open, and you order at a bar!!! If you've never been here before, it is like a cafe not so much a restaurant except the food - even though the menu is small- is restaurant quality! I ordered the smoked salmon toast with runny egg and pickled vegetables. My husband tried a basic breakfast with vegetarian bacon, which happens to be Morningstar farms, of which we've always been a great fan on the rare occasion we eat veggie bacon! It tastes nothing like bacon but it's yummy and unique! Sadly, our order was entered wrong and they sent out a smoked salmon sandwich. Not what I ordered. It had taken ~20 minutes the first time so I went to order a chai latte, another side of veggie bacon as I'd eaten my husband's, and a pastry only to return to my correct order!!!! So maybe they ran the wrong food but made the right one?!?? I'll never know but it was ALL yummy! The flavors go together so well and though the menu is small, it seems that they definitely do everything well! This spot is amazing for dates, networking, working, and even a quick breakfast/lunch/brunch if you're in the area!!! It's very good for all ages but I'd highly recommend not a lot of small kiddos! The menu is small, the wait can be long, and the vibes are decidedly Child-free, except outside. Oh and this is coming from a mom of a lot!!! Enjoy!!!

Grace W.

Yelp
Highly recommend visiting this place if you're looking for a solid study spot or casual place to catch up with friends. Takoma Bev in an convenient location in downtown Tacoma Park that's easily accessible via metro or you can readily find street parking a couple blocks away and walk there. The decorations and the vibes of the restaurant are immaculate - the folks who work there are attentive and the food came out quickly. I sat here for a couple of hours knocking out some work while grabbing a coffee and a sandwich. While the (Americano) coffee was good, I ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich and was disappointed that the sandwich was quite dry and the bread was toasted to a point that it scratched the roof of my mouth.

Yelp
(3.65) ~ good overall beers * Union Pils = (3.75) Good * Union Pale Ale = (3.5) good

Darwin P.

Yelp
Great place for lunch...and deluxe coffee drinks...and free Wi-Fi. Avoid the most crowded times--even though Takoma Bev has lots of room, many customers stay hours cuz it's comfy. The vegetarian bowl I had was excellent, as was the latte.

Tim H.

Yelp
Everything I have gotten here food and drink-wise has been really good. The Green Goddess Chicken Sandwich is a personal favorite. The ambiance is a nice cafe vibe - a place you can do some work or reading in a pinch.

Ebonie C.

Yelp
I love the rustic feel the atmosphere gives here. It's very busy and the noise of the bustle is soothing to me. The breakfast I had was so scrumptious and I love it. I enjoy the fact the cafe highlights local artists by hanging their artwork around where you can even purchase it

Yuki N.

Yelp
Glad to find a cute brunch place in downtown Takoma town! We arrived during Sunday brunch time, so we got in line and browsed the menu. From a broad range of breakfast items, we decided to get breakfast toast and bowl with a chai latte. They used Rishi's chai tea, which had a stronger black tea flavor, fragrant spice note, and less sugary sweetness. After about 10 minutes, a friendly staff brought us meals. My breakfast toast was a crispy toast with black bean spread, avocado, and queso cotija. I was a bit skeptical about this combination, but black bean paste was flavorful and a perfect match for avocado and warm poached eggs. I also liked a hint of pickled shallot on the eggs, which was refreshing. The breakfast bowl was also on point. The egg and chorizo scramble was nicely seasoned and not greasy. Patatas bravas had a nice texture and flavor. We thought the place was small but there were plenty of indoor and outdoor seats to enjoy drinks and meals. The place wasn't overly noisy, so we could enjoy the meal and conversation. The interior also featured local artists, creating a welcoming and warm local atmosphere. It might be a little difficult to find parking on Sunday as the farmers market is placed in the parking lot.

Paula P.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite breakfast/café restaurants in the area. I love the neighborhood. Diel and the coffee is great. Great breakfast option.

Bill B.

Yelp
Nice outdoor seating. But my wife wishes we had gone to Roscoe's and I wished we had gone to Motorcat, which strangely closed its dining room just as we had gotten there. Many of the items on the menu sound quite good. But the BLT with avocado that I got lacked flavor and eventually, hilariously, I had to go in and ask for a shaker of salt. Even the chips that came with the sandwich were so low-sodium that I actually tried throwing salt into the bag to little avail. I also had a tasteless gazpacho soup. My wife had the kale-based TKMA Caesar Salad, which was bland. Having to order online was irritating as well because I often, as was true here, drain my battery by the time I get to lunch.

Gail B.

Yelp
This place is bigger than it seems. There is a connecting dining room beside the drink counter. They have coffee, local brews and an assortment of other bottled beverages. The cookies are yummy. Prices are slightly higher but it is nice supporting local businesses. You can park for free (one hour) in the parking lot beside the post office.

John M.

Yelp
This is a pretentious little place that is "oh so groovy". You can't talk to anyone about your order, because you're using a QR code to place your order. They don't allow any substitutions. If you like going somewhere with almost no human interaction, this is the place for you.

Erica S.

Yelp
I love picking up breakfast to go from here! It's always a seamless experience where you can order online then run in and pick it up off the to go counter. Just a warning that parking in that area can be very difficult especially on the weekends. I love grabbing an iced latte and have tried many different breakfast dishes. The breakfast tacos and the breakfast bowl are favorites. I've never been here at night but it turns into more of a bar vibe with local wine and beer options and trivia once a month!

Sandy O.

Yelp
The service is great! The folks are very attentive. Food and coffee, however, are just - meh.

Jackie O.

Yelp
Really cool atmosphere, great location, plenty of drink options-- coffee and alcohol. This must be a hit with the locals. Really intimate and cozy but plenty of space.

Lewis C.

Yelp
My family and I stopped in this lovely establishment on the way back from Philly and we all had a great dining experience. We loved the fresh food and juice and the staff delivered fantastic service. As a bonus, there was a farmers market behind the restaurant with many local farms and suppliers present. Cheers to the Takoma Bev team for a nice dining experience!

Nina Z.

Yelp
Only intended to grab some lattes here but when we went inside the menu looked delicious. I ordered smoked salmon toast with poached eggs and my husband ordered a breakfast sandwich but substituted the bacon for veg bacon. I was surprised he really enjoyed his sandwich with the veg substitute but he really did. I liked my smoked salmon but overall I think the dish lacked a bit of salt. My husband enjoyed his chair tea latte and I thought my turmeric ginger latte would pretty good although I've had better. The place was packed so it was hard to find a seat. It has an eclectic vibe and I like it. I'd give it another try because my husband really enjoyed it and perhaps what I ordered just wasn't the best.

Scott C.

Yelp
The food and the ambiance were top notch. No issues whatsoever. My beef here is with this model of ordering stuff and paying for it via a web site. I sat outside (it was a beautiful day...I don't care what anyone says) and wasted probably 10 minutes fiddling with their web site on my phone, placing my order and paying for it. It would have been so much easier and pleasant to just tell waitstaff "I'd like the such and such" vs. fiddling with options on a phone, entering security codes and whatnot. And at the end, they defaulted to an 18% tip. Maybe I'm old school here, but please, please, please have waitstaff handle orders, food delivery, checking up on things and the like if they want a tip. I ordered my meal on the app. The food came 20 minutes later. My drink never arrived (needed to go in and ask about it...because, hey, there was no waitstaff milling about to ask you how things are going). Nobody checked on us before, during or after the meal. The only interaction I had was with someone delivering the order. Then we had to bus our own table at the end. I have no idea why I'm paying an 18% tip for this. Again...food was great. Location was great. But please revisit the decision to place orders strictly over smart phones and not having staff checking up on people from time to time. You have a great business and I'd love to see you succeed. But this "self service" model is flawed. I did not have a good experience due to the lack of attention from wait staff.

Rick A.

Yelp
Love Takoma Bec Co! Delish coffee drinks, parries, and breakfast dishes. Wonderful, ecclectic seating areas and plenty of outdoor seating. I like sitting at the bar in the back to chill and sometimes get work done. You get real cups and saucers when it's "dine-in". I come on Sunday mornings to end joy the ambiance and then go to the farmers market! Can't say enough about this place!

E H.

Yelp
Everything is solid here plus it's nice to have indoor/outdoor seating. I've had all the different types of food and drink and have never been disappointed.

Audra H.

Yelp
We were excited to try this neighborhood restaurant for brunch and coffee last weekend! The reviews were good and the photos looked delish so what could do wrong? The chorizo breakfast bowl was DELISH! That is definitely a must try! The aioli had some kick but wasn't overly spicy and the patatas bravas were seasoned well! Unfortunately, I can't really say the same about the sausage breakfast sandwich. It's supposed to come with a poached egg but the egg was full cooked. Also the sausage just had an odd taste to it that just didn't taste...right. So we won't try that again. Overall, we would try this place again maybe for lunch and hopefully have a better experience with everything we order!

Chloe S.

Yelp
I loved Takoma Bev! I had never been to the downtown area of Takoma Park before, but it was super cute and Takoma Bev is right in the heart of it. They serve food, coffee, and drinks, with short wall separating the cafe area and the bar area (however you can also order drinks in the cafe). I got a pint of the Silver Branch Squeegee Master, which was delicious and refreshing. The service at the counter was great and everyone was very friendly. My friend and I sat outside on their covered patio, but the seating inside the bar area looked cute as well. I'll definitely be back!

Liz S.

Yelp
Love Takoma Bev for a casual meal or coffee or tea. Ambiance is treat, the service/servers are terrific and the food is good. Definitely check it out if you are looking for a good place in TK to meet up with friends or family

Alannah N.

Yelp
We had arrived in the area to get donuts down the road and was looking for a local shop to get coffee. We saw this one about a mile away, so thought why not try it out! We even passed a Starbucks and thought to stop in, but we decided to keep going. When we got there we ordered two hot vanilla oat lattes, we paid stepped to the side and waited. After 5 minutes, we saw everyone that was coming in was leaving within 1 minute, it got to the point that they were giving us weird looks like "what are you standing there for." After 10 minutes one man came in ordered and got his drink immediately. No one was left but us standing around, but they started to walk away from the machine. Finally my partner went up to ask if there was a mess up and they just shrugged their shoulders and said I'm sorry than started to make it. When he turned around they started to whisper and stare at us, while making weird looks. It made me so uncomfortable I walked out. He stayed to get the coffees. When we drank it, I'm not gonna lie I don't know if they were upset that we complained or what, but it tasted like they didn't even put new espresso in it, but used whatever was left over. It tasted like watered down lukewarm milk, it was probably the worst coffee I've ever had. It seemed like a really nice place and they had a lot of good food options for vegans. But I don't know this place rubbed me the wrong way, we ended up throwing it away and just going to Wawa for coffee.

Melanie N.

Yelp
What a cute little find! I popped into this place for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised to find a coffee shop with great ambiance, friendly staff and delicious food. The windows have rainbow flags in them showing their ally ship, which I appreciated, and the types of customers enjoying their meals were very eclectic. Upon entering the coffee shop I had to use the restroom, and was delighted to see a custom baby changing station with a baby mat on the hook with a written note for guests to be welcome to use. This attention to detail always makes me smile. I love how friendly and knowledgeable the staff was. Since it was my first time they walked me through the menu a bit and gave me their coffee recommendations. I got the veggie quiche and a decaf oat milk latte (no judging on the decaf, I love caffeine but my body doesn't ). The crust on the quiche was perfectly flaky, and the middle was pack full of leeks, greens and pepper. I'm not a fan of mushrooms so I was happy that this one didn't have any in it. It came with a nice side salad that added a light, crisp compliment to the heavier quiche. Definitely would fill you up. I spent around $15 for both menu items. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area, they have certainly covered all of their bases with their attention to detail. Hope this helps!

Karina E.

Yelp
Takoma Beverage Company is a small, casual spot for coffee, food & drinks. The menu of this spot actually surprised me because I didn't think it would offer dinner at all and the items on the dinner menu are pretty substantial. However, I've only ordered coffee and a breakfast sandwich. I would usually walk here from my place in Brightwood, NW DC to grab an iced or hot latte, but not too often because it's almost $6. However, the service is courteous and quick so I don't mind going every once in a while. The pic is of the TKMA breakfast sandwich

James R.

Yelp
Had full breakfast. Bacon was burnt. Over easy eggs were fried hard. Avocado was not ripe. Avoid this place for breakfast

Akash P.

Yelp
Really good food and friendly staff, and the grilled cheese in particular is great! And I like the chill vibe inside.

Shannon A.

Yelp
The staff is so sweet and nice! Very attentive. I got the smoked salmon sandwich OMG!!!! Best sandwich I've had in a while it has pickled veggies and avocado. I def recommend getting an extra side of the aioli that it comes with!!

Alexandra J.

Yelp
Just moved here from Jersey and I work fully remote...so I came here for a change of scenery and a good cup of coffee....I will be back. I had the full breakfast it's a classic but it's made very well. Latte 10/10! Thanks for a great experience guys

Yelp
Takoma Bev is an excellent coffee shop just across the border of Washington, D.C. in Takoma, Maryland. Here's why you should go: 1) Location: It's a short 7-minute walk from the Takoma Metro Station passing by historic buildings and fun shops. Takoma Bev is at one end of a strip of restaurants, cafes, and stores making for a fun stroll after you sip a latte. 2) Coffee: They use Counter Culture beans and brew great coffee. My latte was rich, creamy, and smooth, one of the best I've had in the area. 3) Food: They sell pastries and breakfast sandwiches in the morning as well as lunch (get the carrot hummus sandwich). 4) Space: The coffee shop takes up two rooms. The first room is where you order your food/drink. It includes window seating and bar seating (with outlets under the bar). There's also a fridge with grab-n-go drinks and beer. The second room is a community room with an additional bar in the back, couches, window seating, and tables (big and small). Outlets are scattered throughout the space. There's also an outside patio with six tables. 5) Wifi: It's free and strong. The password as of January 3, 2020 is "bevco6917". Takoma Bev feels like a true neighborhood spot where all generations come to work, read The Washington Post, or catch up with a friend.

Yelp
This is a wonderful spot for coffee and breakfast. The breakfast toast had perfectly poached eggs and the humus toast was super flavorful. Wonderful fresh bread and the ingredients were also super fresh from the arugula to the tomatoes. And the service and atmosphere can't be beat.

Mel S.

Yelp
Such a fan of their coffee here. Recently, I tried a sandwich and it was pretty mediocre to be honest. I literally could've made it at home for a lot less than $13 so I'll just stick to their coffee. My friend said the same about his experience so, I'm guessing it's fairly consistent in this. I 100% recommend their cappuccino. Delicious.

Julia S.

Yelp
I got the vegan meatball sub and it was amazing. It was super flavorful, packed with grilled onions, tomato, spices, delicious bread and a side of chips. The workers were very kinda and helpful and the atmosphere is really nice. It's a good place to do some work too.

Mike B.

Yelp
What a neat little place! Right on the main drag of Tacoma Park... I stopped in for an Iced Chai and a small snack. They really have an extensive menu. At first, I thought it was just the snack list up on the wall... but later I realized they have like a FULL full menu. I got an iced chai and a mini ham and gruyere slider. The iced chai was delicious, albeit a very small portion (in my mind for what I paid for it). The ham and gruyere sandwich was quite delicious. Ham, gruyere, greens, and tomato pressed on a panini press. It was all melty and warm with deep grill marks. It was the perfect cute little 3 dollar snack. I thought that was very appropriately priced. There is a GOOD deal of seating in the little restaurant/cafe area attached to the main bar area. I love that they have swag for sale, coffee brewing merch, and also wine and beer I believe. They really do it all. I would say even that Tacoma Bev Co is just a tiny bit misleading. They have bev, they have foo, they have merch, they have a little bit of every-. The man who helped me at the cash register was very kind. You can pay for anything and everything with him, and then for certain things, he'll give you a number that you can take to your seat and they'll deliver your food. There is a large long communal table I was sitting at that was pretty comfortable. Truly, if I was closer to Tacoma Park this would definitely be a regular haunt. Very much looking forward to eating more food there. I have a feeling it's gonna be real quality!

Yelp
Cool little cafe tucked away on Laurel street. Somehow I overlooked the additional seating area and instead took a seat at the less spacious bar top in the front of the cafe. The ample sunlight flowing through the front window felt fantastic on such a brutally cold day. The menu here is limited, but contains an appealing variety of options. I started my meal which the Mute Appeal cocktail, featuring Applejack brandy and Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur. It was pretty good, but the tiny portion wasn't worth the price. Fortunately lunch was much better. I started with the cheese pastry: deliciously flaky phyllo dough wrapped around a warm cheese filling. Fantastic. I also ordered the Brussels Sprouts bowl; pan roasted brussel sprouts with cranberries, lentils, and some kind of yogurt sauce. The brussel sprouts were nice and crispy, but a bit too oily for my taste. Not enough to keep me from ordering the dish again, though. My only real complaint about this place is that after I left, the smell of food from the cafe lingered in my hair and my clothes for the rest of the day. Hopefully, this isn't a problem for patrons sitting in the dining area as opposed to those front of the cafe; I think I'll try sitting there next time.

Yelp
Good healthy breakfast and lunch choices. Great coffee and teas. Order at counter and food brought to table. Very popular local Takoma Park place with limited seating indoors and seating outdoors.

Yelp
I came here on Saturday for a little me time breakfast. I ordered the Takoma breakfast sandwich and a vanilla latte. I decided to sit inside as outside was already full (this place is very popular in Takoma). I enjoyed the relaxed ambiance and the unique art on the walls that was also for sale. Now to the food, the Takoma breakfast sandwich came out within 10-15mins. It was delicious! I guess I was expecting a regular breakfast sandwich, but nothing about this was regular. The arugula (?) salad mix on top was lightly drizzled (with I assume olive oil and vinegar, I believe), the egg was poached perfectly, the bacon was thick and meaty- no thin crisp bacon, and the cheddar was sharp and perfect (I honestly want to know what cheddar they use because it was so delicious). The English muffin was crispy and big enough to contain everything and hold it in. My latte was good, and well made. Overall, this place is a great place to have coffee and relax. But you will also find some tasty eats that make it stand out from the typical cafe.
