"Rockville’s Amici Miei closed its doors on New Year’s Eve after 17 years in business. Owner Roberto Deias explained in an email to customers that he shuttered his popular Italian restaurant because of 'ongoing financial challenges stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic,' according to Bethesda Magazine. Amici Miei first opened in Potomac Woods Plaza before rent increases forced a move to Rockville in 2017. Deias has taken a management position at Trattoria da Lina in Takoma Park." - Tierney Plumb
