"A Mexico-Korea Mashup Inspired by the west coast craze, owner Mike Lenard created DC's first food truck devoted to the Korean BBQ taco. These "taKos" feature trademark seasoned meats including Korean-style buigogi beef, tangy chicken, or caramelized tofu all topped with fresh spicy kimchee or mild napa-romaine slaw, cool lime crème, Sriracha chili sauce, cilantro, and sesame seeds on top of warm corn tortillas. Missed the truck? TaKorean has a permanent storefront inside Union Market."

10 Must-Order Foods and Drinks at Union Market - Eater DC

"Takorean: The Korean-Mexican stall offers a variety of combinations of rice bowls, salads, and tacos. Guests can choose their favorite protein, slaws, sauces, and toppings. But the Bulgogi Taco, featuring thin slices of beef marinated in a sweet-and-spicy soy-based sauce and topped with a kimchi long hails as the favorite combo." - Tierney Plumb

Takorean inside Union Market is fantastic! I opted for the Chicken Avocado bowl, while others got tacos, and both were delicious—honestly, you can’t go wrong either way. The prices are a little on the higher side, but the quality makes it worth it. On weekends, seating can be tough to find, but if you visit during the week, it’s much easier to grab a spot. If you have any questions, just ask the staff—they’re very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Google
Food was well seasoned, the proportions were generous, and the taco trio was the best sampler for the uninitiated. -1 star because the meat was very very greasy (there’s a difference between juicy and greasy) and because there was a chicken bone in my taco.

Google
Delicious bowls! Lots of options served build-your-own style. Meat was well marinated, and kale slaw was super flavorful. Loved the sauces. Great price too!

Google
I honestly don’t know what I got I told edwin to go crazy on my order and just get me what he thinks is best. This was so god damn good! Very kind staff as well. Can’t even explain the flavors of what I got I just wanna say that it’s worth it. 10/10

Google
If you’re looking for a unique and delicious dining experience, Takorean Korean Taco Grill is a must-visit! I had the Chicken and Beef bowl, and it was absolutely fantastic. The flavors are a delightful fusion that you won't find anywhere else. The best part is the customization—you can pick your protein, choose from a variety of sides, and select a special sauce that ties everything together perfectly. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any combination! Located inside Union Market, it’s a great spot to grab a bite while exploring the area. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, making it perfect for a quick meal or a relaxed lunch. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their tasty options! Highly recommend!

Google
I really like this place. Today is my second time here. Yesterday I door dashed a bowl & it was so delicious that I decided to eat it again a second night in a row. However, I am so focused because on door dash with delivery fees, tip, etc I paid $26. When I went in person tonight, I expected it would be cheaper since I picked it up but it turned out to be $31(more expensive). That’s pricey for a bowl that I can finish in one sitting. I feel ripped off because the prices weren’t consistent two days in a row. I hope someone can explain this.

Google
I had a decent, healthy meal. Lots of choices but the flavors didn’t really stand out all that well for me. Also, since the slaw is cold, it sucks out the heat from whatever protein you have so your food is a bit cold. I could see how half slaw and half rice would be appealing to people who’d rather have one temp.

Google
Very very delicious rice bowl. It is a fantastic combination with sour cream and gochujang on top of rice and bulgogi. Staff was very friendly! I visited Navy yard location but I like Union Square better because of the staffs. Same food but better service.

Yelp
Okay Fusion! This reminds me of my hometown in California because we love Kale, and we also tend to have a taste to bring tortillas to Korean Bbq, it makes sense for this combination to exist!

Yelp
I absolutely enjoyed my tacos. They were seasoned well and tasted really good. The service was friendly and quick. I know that it gets quite busy at this location but they do a good job of getting the food out quickly. I would definitely go back when I'm in the area again.

Yelp
My go to restaurant whenever I'm at union market. It's not traditional Korean food but it still tastes great. I especially love the cucumbers. The people working there are always nice and give big portions. It gets really busy and loud on weekends so be prepared to wait.

Yelp
There were high hopes for this place. It was described as a Korean food Chipotle. You can customize everything easily. I think this food hall was a bit loud so the person helping me didn't give me any guidance, recommendations, and forgot 2 toppings I had asked for. I got a rice bowl with what they call Bossam, their spicy kale salad, and their salsa. The Bossam was really just shredded pork. I wasn't expecting it to be shredded. The kale salad was the best part of the entire meal. It was light, spiced, crunchy. It has the most flavor of everything. The salsa I added was barely able to cover the pork, so I was really just eating what felt like plain shredded pork and white rice. It was supposed to have cilantro, crunchy fried onion, and sesame seeds. I only got the sesame seeds. Even though the staff verbally confirmed with me my order. I think it was a great portion for the price. The rice was perfectly cooked. The pork was juicy despite the lack of flavor. What makes Bossam is usually the sauces and toppings. Since I had neither I clearly didn't order (nor get) the best meal from here. The ingredients in general are clean, high quality, and great. Next time I have to try something different because this place has a lot of potential.

Yelp
Decided to visit Union market and decided to stop here. I remember the first store that opened on U St. roughly six years ago. They have changed a decent amount since then. But the food is still decent. My bowl consisted of rice and slaw with some steak and a couple toppings. Steak was a bit dry. But nothing wild to complain about. I miss their other topping selections but I enjoyed it.

Yelp
Union market has SO many options, it's hard to choose. The line for TaKorean was long so I thought it was probably good, and it was going quick! I got the bowl - white rice, chicken, kimchi, cucumbers, the spicy sauce, sesame seeds .. it was ok! Rice was cooked perfectly for me - slightly sticky but easy to mix. Chicken wasn't dry. But it wasn't spicy and I didn't love the flavor of the kimchi and cucumbers which is why I gave a 3/5. It was didn't have a ton of flavor ... Staff was super friendly and although the line was moving quick, they answered questions and were taking their time with each customer.

Yelp
I remember when TaKorean was just a food truck in DC! It's been years since I visited but I was looking for a quick, easy meal in Union Market and they fit the bill. I got the Chicken Avocado Bowl ($14) with chicken, brown rice, romaine slaw, guacamole, salsa roja, pico de gallo, cilantro, and sesame seeds. It was pretty much exactly what you would expect for a bowl with those ingredients -- solid, but no surprises. The bowl tasted good and just like I remember, maybe due to the specific marinade they use on their chicken. There was no line at ~12:30 PM on a Monday; service was fast and friendly. I was decently full afterwards and didn't have any leftovers, whereas I usually have some leftovers from Chipotle bowls. I wasn't blown away but I would visit again, especially for their Taco Tuesday discount.

Yelp
My absolute favorite place in Union Market! I generally order their white rice bowl with chicken and toppings (no extra cost). I like that their chicken is very tender and the level of stickiness for the rice is just on point. Toppings include salsa, gochu-pow sauce (a spicy sauce made from fermented Korean gochujang paste, if you don't eat spicy, exclude this from your toppings), lime crema (a sour cream based topping with lime juice, mirin, and agave), sesame seeds, cilantro, and shallots. I have also tried their add-ons before which include cucumber, piko de Gallo (tomatoes with ginger scallion sauce), pickled daiko radish, avocado, and poached egg. Service is quick and friendly. Despite long lines during lunch hours, I can typically get my food in under 10 minutes. On Tuesdays, you can get 3 tacos for a discount price (I think it's around $8-9 if I remember correctly) and they are equally delicious!

Yelp
I was in the mood for a rice bowl for lunch and this place hit the spot. I ordered the porky kale rice bowl. The guy making my food asked me if I wanted anything removed or added to my bowl, I asked him for some suggestions and he added sesame seeds and cilantro. I ate it with a ginger lemon kombucha and was very pleased with my selection. The bowl is crunchy and packs a lot of flavor with the spicy kale and pickled daikon. I will definitely go back and try more items off the menu.
google avatar

Bibiana R.

Yelp
Went here to eat a quick dinner and was surprised to find they do Taco Tuesday ! You get 3 tacos for almost $9 (which is not exactly much savings with $11 something after tax lol) HOWEVER, the tacos were absolutely delicious. It really is like a Korean Chipotle and the people there were really nice. I ordered two bulgogi tacos and one chicken taco. The meat was so flavorful and tender. I picked the kimchi slaw on the bulgogi and the kale on the chicken and I also asked to have everything topped with cilantro, fried shallots, a sauce I can't remember the name of and lime crema. SO GOOD. Maybe I'll come back and try their bowl!! :-)

Yelp
I really like Takorean. But the Union Market location skimps on the portion size. The location on M St. gives a very good portion size, comparable to the price to the food. Takorean is not cheap, so Union Market needs to consider that and serve accordingly.
google avatar

Jim H.

Yelp
Similar theme to my usual reviews -- I cannot give 5 stars to food that I think is overpriced. Having said that, I think the product you get is delicious and definitely worth going back to over and over again if you feel like splurging on some yummy tacos. It's jam-packed in Union Market, which has plenty of delicious options, but it certainly stands out as one of my personal favorites.

Yelp
This was one of the places I hadn't been to at Union Market so I randomly tried it one day. I got a rice bowl with bulgogi and vegetables, and it was tasty! TaKorean's set up is kind of like Chipotle so this place makes your food pretty fast compared to other places at Union Market and for that, they get an extra kudos!

Yelp
The description of Takorean - "Korean Taco Grill. A delicious combination of Korean flavors with a Mexican twist all made from scratch." I decided to come here on the week I'm going vegan (only temporarily because I love a good meat sweat). I felt like I needed a cleanse and was searching for restaurants in the Union Market with something yummy that would qualify. I walked up and down the isles before I made my choice here. I ordered three tofu tacos with: -Shredded kale with purple cabbage & carrots tossed with a soy sauce & gochugaru dressing -Avocado -Salsa Roja -Crunchy Shallots The tortillas had a crispy exterior, but still soft to the bite. All the flavors were well balanced and please get extra crunchy shallots, they really give the tacos an extra umph! The staff were all super friendly, knowledgeable and you can literally have your food ready and paid for in seconds. I'll be coming back for lunch again and again and AGAIN - TRY IT!! -ODL Connect with me! IG & YouTube: @AOEAT

Yelp
Love this place! It's like a Korean chipotle! I got the three tacos so I could try a bit of each meat and slaw. My favorite by far was the bulgogi with romaine, all the toppings, and added pickled daikon and cucumber (which were clutch). Get the gochupow sauce and the lime crema. Next time I'll get a bulgogi bowl instead of tacos. The chicken bowl was good too!
google avatar

Maria V.

Yelp
Great lunch choice inside of Union Market. Get your food and go upstairs to the roof to have an outdoor lunch. You "construct" your own bowl or tacos' fillings. I chose a combo of 3 tacos with pulled pork ( you also have a choice of chicken or beef), shredded kale, kimchi, dressing. My companion chose a bowl with beef . Both tacos and the bowl were very good : Fresh, flavorful and tasty. I probably would go for kimchi or coleslaw instead of kale that made taco a bit too dry overall, or will ask for more dressing ( they put very little).
google avatar

Donna Y.

Yelp
I ordered a bulgogi bowl with all the toppings. It's like chipotle styled ordering so you can choose whatever you want. Service was a little slow because of so many people in line but it moved quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're looking for Asian fusion cuisine in a laid back environment, then head over to TaKorean at the Union Market food hall. TaKorean combines Korean flavors with tacos! The food hall offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and is easily accessible from the Red Line at the NoMa-Gallaudet metro station.
google avatar

Traci N.

Yelp
This TaKorean is located in Union Market. It's a reliable choice -- menu stays the same (except for the rotating extra veg option you can add for a bit extra) and it's consistently delicious. Fast food Korean tacos, slaw/rice bowls, that kind of thing. You can add something similar to guacamole at the end, or a fried egg, hot sauces, etc. Union Market has a lot of delicious but HEAVY foods so if you want something a bit healthier, TaKorean is a good choice. Note there is a military discount!
google avatar

Georgina W.

Yelp
I tried this at Union market because it had a pretty short line due to the style of building your bowl which moves rather quickly. Unfortunately my food was not very warm and although it was ok it wasn't as flavorful as I would've liked . If I were to go back I would ask for more sauce and see if that helps With so many other restaurants in union market I just wasn't impressed
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
TaKorean is nowhere near me, so when I go to Union Market, I like to go there for lunch. The staff is always nice, and the food is consistent. I really like the bulgolgi, although it was just a tad dry. The flavor was good, though. Overall, I enjoy coming, and will continue to do so
google avatar

Bailey P.

Yelp
It is set up as an assembly line which makes service super fast. I decided to go with a bowl (the tacos are another popular option) with a base of brown rice, tofu as my protein source and kale as my slaw with a few of the free toppings. The tofu was very plentiful and FULL of flavor. Not many places know how to do tofu justice but this place was spot on. However, the slaw was a bit bland and dry and could of used something like lemon juice to spruce things up. I went to the location inside Union Market so there was plenty of seating options but it was also very crowded.

Yelp
Good tasting food, good friendly service. Place was empty but food was amazing. Kinda pricey on the small side guac.

Yelp
Located in the Union Market, this restaurant always has lines during peak hours. I decided to give it a try, but was a bit disappointed with the flavors. Given that this is a fusion restaurant, I think the balance between Korean and Mexican is off. It doesn't taste very Korean or Mexican, it just ends up being a bit of a boring bowl. I ordered a pork rice bowl with kimchi and all three sauces (salsa, gochujang, and lime sour cream). The pork wasn't what I expected, it's more of a barbacoa. It's not very seasoned and tastes a bit bland. The sauces are also very mild. I wish the salsa had a stronger kick, gochujang had a spicier taste, and the sour cream tasted more limey. In addition, the kimchi is more like a salty slaw - I would not consider it kimchi at all. Overall, I wish the meats, sides, and sauces had more robust flavors. Fusion doesn't have to be mild.
google avatar

Tricia R.

Yelp
Veggie tacos were outstanding! Got the tofu hoison w kale slaw and added cilantro cream. So delicious. The marinade in the tofu was very tastey. They had 3 options of slaw but kale was so good I will stick w that. Perfectly balanced crunch and citrus flavor.

Yelp
Stopped to union market after work. The food looked good so decided to give it a try. I had The bowl with brown rice, spiced kale, chicken topped with pico de gallo, and radish. Meal was good and tasty overall. Affordable prices.
google avatar

Joanna M.

Yelp
I had the pork with kale bowl. The bowl cost me $15 with tip. The portion was big, but it still wasn't worth the price. It was very very salty and fatty.
google avatar

Christine A.

Yelp
I enjoyed the idea of this place and the staff is very friendly. I feel like the food can have a little more flavor but I still enjoyed it. They have different options to choose from and service is very quick! I would go here again and try some other things on their menu.

Yelp
Unión market is a great space, but it can be so hard to decide what to eat! Well the workers at the TaKorean stall saw my friends and I struggling and promised us we'd love their food...they were right. TaKorean came out swinging with a sweet yet savory beef taco with some hidden Korean flavors. My friends were super impressed and we will definitely be back! Follow us on Instagram @brwndbutter for more DC food reviews.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good. Very very good! One would think when you go to a place the features tacos...get the taco, BUT it's hard to resist the bowls full of flavor and made to your liking...sweet and savory, or a little heat whatever your preference they have or. The customer service is good and the assembly line approach works perfectly to keep the steady line moving. I'll be back for sure.

Yelp
Every time I've been inside of Union Market this place always has a stack of people in line. I've been wanting to get out this spot, and I finally found my window of opportunity. I've heard about the tacos @takorean , and decided to go to their location at 1309 5th St., N.E. Washington D.C. (inside of Union Market). They have tacos, with a Korean fusion thing going on here!! . . . All right here we go with my beloved simplified menus!! This book has tacos... and bowls. You go in you choose whether you want a taco or a bowl (white or brown rice with the bowl). You choose a slaw Kimchi, Romaine, or spiced kale. You choose a protein...chicken, steak (bulgogi), pork, or pan roasted vegetables. You got your add-ons like a poached egg, pickled radish, or their Guakamole (avocado lightly seasoned with ginger and rice vinegar). When you finish everything off with their toppings...salsa Roja, Lime Crema, Sesame seeds, cilantro, crunchy Shallots, and their Gochu-Pie sauce (a spicy sauce from fermented Korean gochujang paste). That's it. . . So I got four tacos for $11.20( $.60 extra for the bulgogi and $2.65 for the 4th taco), and a bowl for $11.69 ($1.80 extra for the bulgogi). Everything I copped has lime crema, crunchy shallots, salsa roja, cilantro & sesame seeds. Let's get to it. . First up is their chicken taco (pictured with spiced kale)...STAMP!! All these ingredients were tasty with a twist, and fulfilling!! I'd DEFINITELY get this again!! . The Bulgogi (pictured with Romaine)...STAMP!! You could really taste the spice on the steak, 3 bites...this was gone!! . Next up is the tofu taco (pictured with hoisin & pickled cabbage)...DELICIOUS!! This one definitely hit the spot, I'm just not a fan of the fermented pickled cabbage. 'Twas delicious though. . Last of the tacos is the pork "Bo Ssam" (pictured with spiced kale & Gochu Pow sauce)...DELICIOUS!! The pork was a tad tough, but delicious nonetheless!! . The bowl (pictured with chicken, steak, brown rice, & kale)...STAMP!! I recommend this bowl!! Trust!! I also got some chips that I didn't even touch for $2.25. . . Customer service was on point here, online navigation is smooth, they do deliver via 3rd party, the establishment was clean, and parking was decent. Good food!! Go!! That's it. #bigschlimsreviews #litepocketmeals #koreanfusion #tacos #bulgogi #bowls #chicken #pork #tofu #limecrema #cilantro #spicedkale #Gochupowsauce #crunchyshallots #deliciousness #stamp #go #thatsit

Yelp
My favorite place to eat when I'm at union market. Their tacos are so delicious! The workers also know some signs so it's easier for me to communicate with them. So friendly workers!

Yelp
TaKorean Korean Taco Grill Ratings: 3.9/5 Food: 4/5 - Tacos are excellent, and the tortilla was decent too. I ordered chicken, steak and pork. The pork is by far my favorite, because the meat is very tender. I think their sauces are the reason why the tacos are so good. There's just so much flavors to it, I love it. Interesting flavor profile. They also have a variety of toppings and sauces to choose from with no additional cost, so that's a plus. Lastly, the taco is quite small, so ordering 3 would be perfect for one person. Ambiance: 4/5 - Union Market is always my go to for a quick bite. It is always clean and there are lots of outdoor seating available for people to sit. There are seating available in the back of the building such as the garage and a rooftop, but that requires reservation. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. Price: 3.75/5 - Thought $4 per taco is getting a bit over the limit, especially when the portion isn't that big. I think before it was around $3 to $3.5 per taco before, but not sure. However with COVID-19, it makes sense to increase price a bit to survive or stay in operation. Service: 4/5 - The server was patience with my order requests and suggested the slaws and several toppings/sauces, because there are a huge selection of options to choose from. Yeah, the number of toppings to choose from can be overwhelming, but they got a good assembly line going on there. BLUF: I think this place is pretty good compared to the other vendors at Union Market. Also, the line isn't too long either, and they move pretty fast. Would recommend if you are looking for something fast and somewhat healthy.

Yelp
This place is located inside of a larger market area with a ton of different options of food & a bit of stores (like kitchen towels & stuff like that). I have been waiting over a year to come here, since I heard of it randomly while yelping. It did not let me down. I will say I like the tofu better than the bulgogi, which was a shock to me, but the tofu has more of a sweeter taste to it. It's inside the Union Market building, but definitely come here if you're in the DC area- well worth it!
google avatar

Nina R.

Yelp
The food is ok. I think it was a bit overrated. They use soft, corn tortillas straight from the bag without warming them up. Add the fillings and recommended toppings. I had a beef taco and chicken. They were ok, but I needed more condiments or sauce. It was sort of dry. There was an extra charge like $.50 so I passed. Will not return.

Yelp
Had the chicken tacos and veggie tacos. Nice amount of vegetarian options and tasty tacos.

Yelp
I ordered "The Bowl" with the Steak Bulgogi and it tasted like an authentic Korean food with an appearance in Mexican style.

Yelp
TaKorean is one of the first Korean taco places in the DMV area and I was happy to check out this place. The place is now a staple in Union Market and I'm glad that it's surviving COVID. I would say that the hiked up prices at $4/taco is getting to be an eyebrow raiser. There are so many competitors that I hope that it could stay at this point. $3.50 was much more reasonable. Nonetheless, I'd boost a 3.5 to a 4 for solid flavors and working to survive COVID - Food Pork Tacos (4/5) and Chicken Tacos (3.5/5)- These tacos are both excellent and I appreciate the fact that they had distinct tastes instead of both tasting like the soy/garlic bulgogi marinade that some Korean taco places have. The bossam taco has strong pork flavors, so if you're not a fan of the "porkiness", I'd suggest one of the other meats. We went with the server's suggestions for slaw and didn't regret it. I would say that the tacos are juicy and border on oily, but the flavors go well together. - Service 4/5 I was happy that the server took it upon himself to say that he would suggest the slaws and sauces because the permutations of options can be a bit overwhelming. Thank you! - Cleanliness 4/5 - The place is doing the best they can with COVID - Ambiance 4/5 - I'm happy to see that this place is surviving COVID and that Union Market is also doing well despite the chaos in DC. Even if you have to dine outdoors in the rooftop in less than warm weather, nothing beats good flavors with good socially-distanced company.

Yelp
I look for Korean food and flavors wherever I go. We got a steak bulgogi bowl with romaine slaw, pickled daikon, gochu-pow sauce, lime crema, and shallots. It was good. Not very strong flavors at all. Could use more gochu-pow sauce to make up for lack of flavor and maybe no crema. Oddly charged extra for pickled daikon and service was a little rushed. ROMAINE SLAW Shredded lettuce & cabbage dressed with a mild rice vinegar & sesame oil vinaigrette STEAK (BULGOGI) Thin sliced all-natural beef marinated in a sweet & spiced soy-based sauce GORDY'S PICKLED DAIKON Locally made pickled daikon radish with turmeric & bayleaf for TaKorean.

Yelp
This place is not good. I waited 10 minutes to get service in line. When I got to the front I was totally ignored by the staff. They were almost out of "the slaw" and gave me two spoons of slaw. Then the person left me waiting some more and when he came back, he asked me if I was done, at which point I said "you have not even offered me the rest of the ingredients." I left so pissed off with the sad looking bowl, I won't be coming back here. BAD SERVICE, SAD LOOKING FOOD, POOR UNREMARKABLE TASTE. Go to the other places around, it's a better use of your money

Yelp
Love this spot, I wish I knew the young man who took my order he was so kind. They are very patient even for the first timers. The tacos here are amazing! I've had the chicken, steak and cauliflower although they use it as a main I used it as a topping and love it! I highly recommend this place. Parking is plenty it's located inside Union Market. You can find lot or street parking. They close early I believe at 8 so grab and go and hit the road. They are located at the entrance of the city which is cool if you're on your way in or on your way out.

Yelp
Loved loved loved! I get these tacos almost every time I go to Union Market. The ingredients taste so fresh, the corn tortillas hold up surprisingly well. Great portion great price

Yelp
1 star for the poor service. I was excited to get the tofu bowl so I ordered that and when the man was finished plating the rice/tofu/veggies he handed my bowl to the next man on the assembly line. That man just starred at me with a blank face and said nothing. I didn't know what was going on. Then he said with an attitude "is that it". Ummm I guess so? So then I paid. As I was doing so, I saw the next person got a sauce on their bowl. I didn't know that was the next step, he didn't explain anything to me. So I missed out on that. Why do their wear masks around their chins?
google avatar

Jess T.

Yelp
It's wild to me that this isn't a five star rated spot, because every time I come to Union Market it always ends up my favorite option. I wonder if it's really determined by what you order, so if you're headed here, try the following: Bulgogi soft tacos, kale slaw, lime cream, crunchy shallots, cilantro. I don't know how anyone could be disappointed with the above combination. It's just SO GOOD. The bulgogi is great quality, not fatty, and extremely flavorful. Try it!!

Yelp
Awesome fusion restaurant line service style. Awesome bowls and tacos, even have taco Tuesday deals!

Yelp
My parents always tell me to follow the crowd because there's usually a good reason behind it. TaKorean is a Mexican-Korean fusion cuisine located in the Union Market. The way you order is very similar to Chipotle's assembly line style - pick a bowl (white or brown rice) or tacos (1 taco or 3 tacos), pick a slaw (pickled cabbage, romaine slaw, or spiced kale), pick meat(s) (you can choose 2 out of 3 meats), and pick toppings and sauces (included mild, spicy, and Sriracha). Line moved pretty quickly, but I unexpectedly got a bowl instead even though I originally told the staff that I wanted 3 tacos. Our group had to sit outside of the market because there's no place to sit within the market. *** The Bowl (brown rice, 1/2 steak + 1/2 pork, mild sauce - $9 + additional $1.50): I can't say it was the best bowl I have had, but both flavors and texture for meat were better than I expected. Shallots added a nice crunchy texture and mild sauce tasted pretty good. *** If you are looking for a healthy lunch, then this is actually a great option in the Union Market. Personally I am not too crazy about TaKorean, but I dig it.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE! I live right across the street from Union Market, so I come here on the regular. It's reasonably priced, and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Their staff is also very friendly, and help explain what everything is to those that are not korean-food-connoisseurs . I always go for the bulgogi tacos. I've never tried anything else, but to be honest why would you want anything besides bulgogi at a Korean Taco Grill? Definitely swing by this spot for a taco or two next time you find yourself at Union Market!

Yelp
Another spot chosen for our lunch, we ordered a few tacos just to try. The employees were friendly and they moved fast. Overall our tacos weren't that great. I do like a great korean fusion taco, but it was just lacking in flavor. SEASONAL VEGETABLE CAULIFLOWER- pan seared and reduced with a chili-lime glaze I love cauliflower so I had to give this a try. It didn't have that seared flavor I was looking for and flavors were dull in general. The chili lime could have been stronger because it didn't provide much depth to the taco. The other tacos were okay or sub-par. I need more flavor! Adding pickled veggies gave our tacos some acidity and we also opted for some sauces, but overall there needs to be more.

Yelp
Not bad though I'm not in love. I ordered the tofu, pork, and steak tacos and only ended up really liking the pork ones. I did the spiced kale with gochu-pow suace, sesame seeds, cilantro, and crispy shallots. The tortillas could be better. I will try the chicken eventually. Maybe I just need a different combo of toppings next time.
