Google
I don't remember what all the dishes are called here as it has been a few weeks since I took the photos, but I can tell you the taste of everything here was insanely good. This is definitely the best ramen broth in Vegas. The tonkatsu was creamy and changed my world thinking about what I thought was good ramen. The sushi is all great too. The chef here is definitely a master of his craft. Highly, highly recommend. One of the best spots in Vegas. Very limited seating. So, try to go at a time that isn't going to be busy if you are worried about a wait.

Google
Tiny place with big flavors! I went here with my family, and we all loved what we had. Will visit again. Staff is friendly as well. Wasn't able to take pics of tuna carpaccio, tonkotsu ramen, and rolls. But all were yummy!

Google
Awesome place. I got the $30 nigiri chef’s choice and is was a great experience (pic shows 11 pieces, but includes 18). The Chef even spoiled me with some Otoro and Uni. Seems like a really nice guy, and the server was great too, and most importantly, the fish was quality. Highly recommend, I’ll be back

Rosie Baker

Google
The best Hokkaido scallop sashimi I’ve ever had. I dream about it. Chef really knows what he’s doing. A hidden gem and so unassuming, I selfishly want to gatekeep this place. So good.

Google
This is an izakaya that has a very homey feel. The fish for the sushi is very fresh, and the side dishes are delicious.

Google
Well-deserved 5 stars. This place is absolutely a hidden gem. If you’ve read my reviews before, you would know that I’m quite knowledgeable when it comes to Japanese food. The first time I had their Saba Shioyaki I almost cried. The perfect temperature control made it so juicy. After trying a lot of their dishes over my three visits, I can promise you, their dishes are very authentic and tasty. In addition, their staffs and owner are always so welcoming and friendly. Wonderful food, great service, and beautiful prices make this place unbeatable. This is the place you have to give a try. One of my top 3 Japanese restaurants in Vegas. Will come back again. Very soon.

Google
What a little gem! This is an authentic Japanese sushi and izakaya restaurant! Sushi by chef Takashi is amazing, with just the right amount of rice, perfect temperature of the fish and rice, and super fresh fish, so yummy! We also enjoyed the happy hour drinks, great selection of white/red wine and also sake and beer! I would come everyday!

Google
Omakese is the best way to try a little but if everything. Everything is great from service, food and the local vibe. Best to make reservation ahead of time or call before you head in. It's a small restaurant, it fills up quickly. I saw a lot of guests being turned away because they're full. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
I've gone to Takumi almost every month since the first time I visited and am still blown away every time I visit. We love sitting at the bar and the ~local~ vibes of this place. I imagine that it's rare that a restaurant has its original sushi chef as the only sushi chef. Get the omakase, you won't be let down. If your appetite is small, go for the chirashi bowls - the amount and caliber of fish is still amazing. Thank you, Takashi!

Yelp
Takumi Izakaya has been a welcome addition to the southwest community as it took over Ramen Show 2's spot. With its limited seating, reservations are a must for a weekend meal. More often than not, we've seen plenty of people turned away on a Friday evening. We usually get a combination of shared dishes and a chirashi whether it's a party of 2 or 4. These are some of the items we've gotten in the past two years, prices may have changed since then. * Shishamo $5.95 * Edamame $4.50 * Baked Mackerel with Miso $8.25 * Fried Oysters $6.25 * Skewers $7.25 * Fried Jalapeno Stuffed with Tuna $7.25 * Pork & Vegetable Gyoza $6.50 - Their version is now deep-fried, although it used to be pan-fried. * Spicy Salmon Roll $6.95 * Shishito Peppers $5.50 * Baked Mussels $5.25 * Agedashi Tofu $6.25 * Steamed Egg Custard $6.95 - This is a repeat item as it's just silky smooth. * Chirashi Special $34.95 - It's usually pretty loaded with fish. We often need an additional plate to unload the fish on so we an get to the rice. It's supposed to be on sushi rice, but I find the rice to not have enough vinegar to taste different than regular rice. It has gotten less throughout the last couple of years though. * Breaded Scallops - Although the menu picture shows tartar sauce, they no longer serve it with that. It comes with a brown sauce now. * Baked Salmon Cheek $10.95 - The Husband loves getting this as it's such a general portion each and every time. He'll order a side of rice to enjoy this with. There are many other items on the menu, including curries, dons, ramen, tempura, sashimi, sushi rolls, sushi, nigiri, handrolls, and daily specials too. Be sure to check out the chalkboard behind the sushi bar. With it being a smaller restaurant, the wait staff varies from one or two people on the floor and the chef/owner behind the sushi bar. There are TVs on, usually with the latest games dominating the screens. Service is efficient as can be, with the initial wait on your hot food items. I wouldn't recommend parties larger than 4.

Yelp
It's a small, cute place - reminded me a lot of the little izakayas in SF or NY. The server was by himself - and he was on top of things. I had high hopes. Food was overall tasty until ... I took a bite of my uni. My biggest regret was being fat and taking it all in one bite; I realized how OFF it tasted until it was too late to spit it out since it was all disintegrated in my mouth already. It was a bad piece of uni, no doubt about it. It tasted like poo. I knew I effed up. Shortly after, my stomach started getting cramps, and I started getting cold sweats. That night/early morning was really tough. Such a shame - never coming back, unfortunately.

Yelp
Very small restaurant. Food was good but nothing spectacular or special. Service was a little slow but overall decent place.

Yelp
We've been here a few times and this will be my first review... 5 STARS Chef is amazing. I had the chirashi chef special and it was awesome! Best one I had. The unagi don is also amazing. So worth it. My wife had the sukiyaki and she said the same thing, amazing! I highly recommend this place. Come and check them out.
google avatar

Kim H.

Yelp
I am so glad to have this place in the SW! I keep coming back for the special chirashi bowls, and they are premium. $35 gets you so much more fish than a few pieces of nigiri at other nice establishments. The quality is outstanding, and the bowls include uni and chu toro! Absolutely an amazing deal. I hope this place stays around forever!

Yelp
Super glad I'd stop by Takumi. Love this place. They are located in the Southwest part of Vegas. Those looking for authentic sushi spots, you gotta check them out! They take reservations, and booking in advance is best if you have a large or small party. They get busy quickly. Service is on point. The sushi chef takes care of his patrons. Large menu to select from. Let's dive into the food::: Appetizers- Takoyaki: Standard Deep-fried Oysters::: Fried perfectly. Slightly raw in the middle. Love it! Salmon Nigri::: Fresh and soft. YUM! Halibut::: Love the perla leaf touch. Yellowtail::: One of the fav for the night! Must try! Ordered twice! Sweet Shrimp::: Yummy! They didn't overcook the shrimp head like most places. Excellent! Mackerel::: Fresh! Ordered twice! Uni::: From Santa Barbara. Excellent quality! Chefs kiss! Salmon Roe::: Love the overflowing roe... *** Drool*** lol All and all, we had an excellent experience here. Highly recommended for the Southwest part of town. We will be back! ~ Cheers!~

Yelp
Came back with my sister and tried new things! We had the salmon and sashimi special. The fish was soooo fresh! The scallops was so sweet. It was so delicious. Also tried ochazuke for the first time. The saltiness of the fish gave the dish great flavor. The skewers were also perfectly grilled. Service was great as usual. It was a bit busier this time. We came in on a Friday night. Great experience!

Yelp
I went here two days this week and I loved it both times. I already felt like a regular the second time. This is an Izakaya in the SW area of town- Rainbow & Windmill area. An Izakaya is kind of like a Japanese pub- they specialize in Japanese pub food and comfort food and sushi as well as beer and sake. They are great for sushi with high quality fish for a great price and the place is so approachable. Both times I got the sushi special for $30. It comes with 18 pieces of nigiri. Also, it's a true Japanese style and Japanese owned and operated spot with a well known chef with over 30 years of experience. Some other stand out dishes are the rolls: they don't over press them so the rice is nice and fluffy. They have a really good teamed egg, they have great rice bowls, and their $10.99 ramen is solid! They have a happy hour two times a day and they have a specials board.

Yelp
Best sushi & wine in town. Chef is very generous and great conversation if you sit at the sushi bar. Lots of hidden menu items... just ask chef for secret menu items
google avatar

Phi P.

Yelp
We usually call for take out when we need a sushi fix. Their chirashi special bowl is superb. Great quantity and quality for the price. Some of the best around. Highly recommend them. The chef is great, funny and professional.

Yelp
Another Izakaya and we loved this place as well! Any foodie place with great customer service is always accepted in my books. The place is small but cozy for the vibe it's giving. So we sat the counter so we can watch the amazing chefs do their work. We chose a 7 course meal and we pretty much had the best fresh raw fish, each plate was designed well, and later we kept being ask about what other sushi we wanted. Overall such a great experience!
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
My local "hole in the wall" Japanese Izakaya spot near home. Service is great, even when they are busy. Food is exceptional for the price as well. Chirashi Special all day! Sometimes change it up. Local, regular, always get greeted from chef as well.
google avatar

Laura A.

Yelp
They do accept reservations on the phone. Lots of Japanese people eating here. It's not a big place. Service was maybe a 3. No one seated us, we got our own menu and reviewed it. We were given water and then a server almost gave us soup but it was for the other table and she was very apologetic. The chef was the only one who greeted us with a bow and a smile. When our order was taken, we got our food not very long after. Food: We ordered agedashi tofu, tonkatsu ramen, kakuni black pork and sukiyaki. All were extremely scrumptious. We were craving for another dish at another restaurant but parking was terrible and we landed here. Ambiance is cozy. We know the chef Takashi from other Japanese restaurants. We will return and we will be seating at the bar next time
google avatar

Lisa E.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. Small and unassuming. I have a hard time finding Okonomiyaki at most Japanese's restaurants. So was really excited to see it on the menu. It was a bit smaller than previous places I've been to, but it was very good. We also tried the ramen which was just ok. We also tried the Sukiyaki, and dynamite roll. The sukiyaki was fantastic. The service was good and the employees were friendly. I wish they had one in California.
google avatar

Bobby M.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Everything is always fresh and delicious. I love the Large Chirachi Bowl. Awesome Chef and the wait staff are always attentive

John S.

Yelp
An excellent meal and experience. We were searching for ramen late in evening on a Friday and this hit the mark on all accounts. Great service and good items were superb. We both had ramen combo with California roll. Reasonably priced by Vegas area standards.

Yelp
On a recent visit, I had my belly satisfied along with a frosty mug of refreshing icy cold Kirin. It's a local izakaya spot serving up tasty and high quality Japanese food at reasonable prices. Be sure to check their seasonal specials board. What I ate on this visit: - Otoro fatty tuna nigiri from the specials menu. Melt in yo mouth will have your eyes rolling to the back of your head upon first bite. - Unagi don. Not overly salty. Delicious to share. Fluffy rice. - Braised pork. Tender, porkalicious juices. - Assorted tempura. Solid. - Baked yellowtail cheek. Squeeze some lemon. Silky, bursting with flavor. I sucked every last morsel of meat from those prickly and sharp fish bones. I'll be back again real soon.

Yelp
I was really craving Japanese food after an impromptu hike on a Saturday, and am so glad I found Takumi. When I arrived, the place was already packed and there was one server on deck managing about 7-8 parties. I was a little worried that service would be understandably be slow. To my surprise, he and a busser were rockstars at keeping the whole restaurant afloat. In fact, we were seated almost immediately because they cleaned up right away. You can also see the owner manning the sushi bar. I was really impressed by how they were able to deliver great service that day. My bf got their ramen, while I got their small chirashi bowl. I originally wasn't sure if their small would be enough, but the server genuinely assured me that their portion was sizable. And he was right. I had thick and fresh delectable pieces like salmon, tuna, and tamago. We also wanted to try their tempura, and the batter was spectacular. Will be coming back!

Yelp
Takumi Izakaya is by far the most scrumptious Japanese food in the city of Las Vegas! You walk in you immediately have a Homey style such as home cooking of Japanese food! Was Quidditch by the owner/chef and the waiter! Customer service was very attentive very knowledgeable of each menu item! All food that was present on the table tasted fresh with a reasonable price to it. Each item had its unique flair such as the curry, sushi, salads, and Eel box. We walked in,it was packed. Yelp
This is a local izakaya which I've never noticed before. Once you enter the establishment, you noticed how small and intimate the environment is. We arrived at 6 o'clock and there was plenty of tables, but I would say by 630. It did fill up and we went on a weekday. Sashimi here is pretty fresh however, the owner does all the sashimi orders so please be aware that it may take a while, especially if the orders get backed up. Udon was hot and the noodles were bouncy. Salad was enough to share amongst our party of 4. Now they do close at midnight which is a bit early than other izakaya however it's a great place to grab a drink and eat some good Japanese style pub food!
google avatar

Jed J.

Yelp
Small place but cozy and clean. Service is great and food is really tasty. This was our first time here. Definitely will come back again.
google avatar

Paige B.

Yelp
I love the ambience inside of the restaurant. The food is very delicious and they have multiple options as far as proteins and broth. The appetizers have many different options and the dessert menu holds a variety of delicious desserts. I highly recommend taking a family member or even dining as a single diner with a warm comforting bowl of pho
google avatar

Levi A.

Yelp
Best food Best server love that chef he is amazing Best setting and music. He is an amazing chef the food is amazing. The waiter was great and the music was amazing. There is no other word than amazing to describe it
google avatar

Alexis W.

Yelp
After recently moving to the area, my partner and I happened on this gem, and it certainly lives up to its name. You might best describe the ambiance as intimate--comfortably so, while still keeping the character of an izakaya. (If you're planning on going during the weekend, you may want a reservation.) The service was friendly and attentive; we were never left wanting for anything. But my goodness, the food. Texture. Consistency. Balance. Every single bite had something to say, and it did it in a way that spoke volumes about the amount of craft and care the chef puts onto every plate. If you're looking for a place to start, try the okonomiyaki--it was hands down the best I've ever tasted. When navigating the menu, I would suggest that when the menu says something is spicy, they mean it: the spicy tofu in particular was delightfully assertive, but those tempted to ask "how hot is hot exactly" are probably better served by trying any of the other amazing dishes on offer. That said, I'm not sure you can go wrong otherwise. Literally everything I've tasted so far, from the takoyaki to the yakitori, has been delicious. I have no doubt we'll be coming back again and again.
google avatar

Kiyoto K.

Yelp
I had the chef's omakase for $70, and it was a huge amount of high-quality sushi. I ate the most delicious sushi ever since I came to America. There was a wide variety of other izakaya menu items, and everything I ate was super delicious. We recommend you to make a reservation as it is fully booked even on weekdays. Takashi-san, thank you very much for the meal. Please take good care of your body! If I come to Las Vegas again, I will definitely visit you again.

Yelp
One of our favorite Izakaya restaurants to go to in the southwest. Conveniently located in the Robindale and Rainbow plaza towards the middle of the plaza. We love coming here to eat when we are in the area for their good quality and reasonable pricing. It is always a pleasure to come here to eat and see Chef Takashi. Love his smile and happy personality. He is a great chef! My daughter loves the Caplico mini ice cream treats he gives her after her meal. Food quality is great. Portions are a decent size so you get a good value for the price. Egg Custard - Delicious! Has a nice silky egg texture to it with a hint of flavor from the shiitake mushroom Crispy Rice with Spicy Salmon - Good. Portion was much bigger than I thought it would be which was great Fried Spicy Tofu - Good. Has a nice sweet and spicy sauce on it Rice ball - Good. Had cooked salmon inside . Comes with 2 for $6 Okonamiyaki - Good and a good size Potato Croquettes - Nice and crispy Carpaccio - Excellent. Hamachi Kama - Great Tako sushi - Good Uni - Fresh Perfect place to go to for small bites and good quality fish. Service is wonderful and welcoming.

Yelp
I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Takumi Izakaya! The quality and taste of the food were beyond exceptional. The menu offered a wide variety of delicious options, all prepared with great care and skill. The ambiance was delightful, and the personal touch from the owner, who treated us to some extra sushi and dessert, made the evening truly special. It felt like a homey and welcoming atmosphere, and I can't wait to return. The owner's passion for sushi truly shines through in every dish!

Yelp
It was an amazing experience coming here. It is a small place with a cozy feel. When we walked in we got seated at the bar and from there ordered some edamame, nigiri, a few rolls and spam musubi. All the food tasted great and we saw the chef took his time to not only make the food look great but also taste amazing. The crunchy shrimp was our favorite that we ordered two. We ended up trying the cooked yellowtail which was delicious super well seasoned and had a good crunch to it. Definitely recommend coming here and we will be back!
google avatar

Luc L.

Yelp
One of the few places in town left that makes a good chirashi bowl, with fresh fish of various variety that's worth the money. The chef is legit. The only thing is they're only open for dinner. Plenty of parking outside, service is attentive and the place is small so call ahead in case there is a wait.

Ken L.

Yelp
The food is fantastic!!! The staff is great, and the owner is awesome. It's a must try in Las Vegas!!'
google avatar

Stephanie O.

Yelp
We wanted to try a new izakaya spot, and we came across this place! The restaurant was super busy with bar seating and few booths and tables. We got seated pretty quickly and were immediately brought menus and water. We tried the baked green mussels, Takumi roll, the soft crab roll, and sukiyaki soup. The food is pretty tasty but we found the sukiyaki soup a bit salty. Wished the soft crab was a bit more crispy, but overall it was still pretty good.

Yelp
This place was conveniently open on Christmas Day. My boyfriend and I wanted a quick dinner before heading out to the strip and this place was open till midnight. The staff and chef was very nice and attentive. The place was very clean and quaint. I really liked that their chopsticks were in an origami fold, it was actually super cute and creative. As far as the food, my favorite rolls were the crunchy shrimp and blue diamond roll. Each roll had 8 pieces. It was definitely worth the money. The nigiri we got was tuna and salmon, both delicious, but definitely on the pricier side as it's $8 for only 2 pieces.... However, the takoyaki and mackerel karagge were amazing appetizers. I definitely think those were quite delicious! They were sweet to have given us a little dessert snack before leaving.
google avatar

YI C.

Yelp
I think this is the first time I came to this restaurant. It is a smaller yet cozy place. We ordered sake that was very good. It was surprising that the sushi and sashimi was so fresh, from the color to the taste. We also had agedashi tofu and other appetizers that were great. And the cake desert was great as well. I highly recommend this place. Even just the miso soup can tell you how much better it is compared to other places. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Nelson Q.

Yelp
Fresh seafood at an affordable price, not an AYCE spot but you come here for QUALITY, not quantity! The Ultimate Chirashi Bowl is worth every penny, and don't forget the daily specials board. Great spot on the Southwest side if you're looking for tasty Japanese fare. ALOHA!!! SHAKA METER: \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ 5

Yelp
What an amazing experience. The owner/chef was so nice and the food was great! I had a Japanese Lasagna like I've never had before. Nice inside nice location.

Yelp
Great place to go for lunch they do occasionally have good specials but they are a little bit over service is excellent parking is convenient neighborhood is okay I would recommend eating here just prepared to pay a little bit of money
google avatar

Tonitini C.

Yelp
Looks like....I'm about to break-up with AYCE. After my intimate experience here, with the Chef...the staff...and even the people who sit at the bar. What an amazing time. I'm compelled to share how amazing this Sushi Bar is. As much as I want to keep to myself, I feel a great responsibility on how amazing the Chirashi Bowl was, the Blue Diamond Roll my boyfriend ordered...and did I mention Happy Hour on drinks everyday too? The place is small, which I love. You have to be here to experience it. End of story. Go or miss out... *chefskiss*

Yelp
Stopped by here for a late dinner after work. Small but humble and relaxing locale located within a plaza full of other restaurants. I had the ramen and karage, and my empty stomach was not disappointed. Service was outstanding by the chef and wait staff. Will certainly return!
google avatar

Peter B.

Yelp
This was what I would call a 10/10 experience from the food to the service and the hospitality provided by the Chef himself. I have no idea if it was normal or not but Chef brought us extra Toro because the place was busy and we waited a bit for food but well worth it Chef would not let us leave as he kept the fun and food coming. We had eaten just enough to content but we could not dishonor the chef and found room for what he graciously sent to the table and even gave us a bottle of lovely Sake. Fantastic and we will be back. The strip has nothing on Takumi Izakaya !!!
google avatar

Steven W.

Yelp
simply great authentic japanese food without any sort of pretentiousness. chef takashi is friendly, treats everyone like family and is an excellent sushi and izakaya chef. everything we had was top notch and i am so excited to eat here again and try new things. i absolutely loved the yellowtail collar and the blue diamond roll.
google avatar

Keli G.

Yelp
Wonderful sushi restaurant. We were seated right away at the bar. The chef was very kind and helpful. At the end he allowed us to try the otoro special. The quality of the fish was amazing.

Kwan K.

Yelp
Saturday night dinner around 6pm. Smaller restaurant with about 6 tables and counter seating. Food is izakaya esque with sushi and hot food. Ordered blue diamond roll, salmon carpaccio, karaage, tako wasa, sashimi salad. The sashimi and sushi was great, fish tasted fresh, sashimi cuts were generous especially in the sashimi salad. Chicken karaage was juicy with a side of Mayo. Overall a great experience, the owner is behind the counter making the sushi. Would recommend.

Yelp
Food: This was my first time stopping by with my niece and we both ended up getting some ramen which was decent. I had a spicy tuna roll that was pretty yummy but overall I would say the food is pretty average here. Maybe I'd have to give something else a try. Service: Originally we were sat and talked to by an older lady and she wasn't the nicest but later we were help by a gentleman who was super attentive and definitely made the place better Ambiance: Small and can get packed easily but overall a good spot would I come back yes and no lol

Yelp
We started with a sashimi salad. Not great. They added mayo on top. Did not taste like a typical Japanese salad dressing. Tasted like mayo, if you love mayo, get it. The edamame was next and it was good. We have the tempura shrimp and vegetables next and it was spot on, best item we had. Next we had both ramen soups and they were really good. Service was excellent. It's a small restaurant but everyone was real nice. 3.8 stars but not 4. I'll try it again and if I have a better experience I'll rewrite.

Yelp
Another hidden gem. Been meaning to post for awhile but finally decided to share. Omikase is so good- great pricing for quantity and quality. Best to make reservations to get a seat especially on peak hours. Best to sit at bar with the chef. Everything we had were so good.

Yelp
We came for happy hour but they don't have it anymore (except for drinks after 10pm). Even without happy hour this place is priced well for nice and comforting food. We got the tempura shrimp udon, caterpillar roll, and curry Katsu. Everything was good and service was friendly and attentive. They're open late so I'm sure I'll be stopping by again!

Yelp
Excellent friendly service! Food preparation and food taste were superb! Generous portions. Enjoyed the sushi, spicy garlic edamame and Lemon Ramen. Quiet low keyed ambiance-atmosphere where you can actually hear each other talk without shouting. Really enjoyed this restaurant and I will definitely recommend it to all of my friends.

Yelp
From the service to the food, everything was great. The theme/aesthetic of the establishment is super cute and clean. If you haven't tried this place yet, make time to. And if you have already tried it, try it again. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and promptly sat. Chef Takashi and his staff were all personable and fast with their services. The portions, prices, and flavor of all the food were totally worth it! I would suggest sitting at the sushi bar if you get the chance to, and actually watch how Chef makes the different dishes. Each dish had a distinct flavor and you can tell it is all fresh. They have noodles, izakaya, salads, cold dishes, sashimi, nigiri, sashimi and sushi specials, signature rolls, rolls, rice/bowls, and dessert. Most of the specials are written on the board, and they even have housemade green tea ice cream! As for the drinks, they even have soft drinks, iced tea, bottled waters, ramune, cream sodas, hot or cold sake, wines, and beer! They even have a Happy Hour! (My favorites included the Oysters, Salmon Roll, Salmon, Yellowtail, and Tamago!)
