Notable Seattle Restaurants That Opened (or Reopened) Recently - Eater Seattle

"West Seattle pizza spot Talarico’s, featuring monster single slices loaded with toppings (as well as full pies and pastas), has opened up a Fremont outpost. On the menu is the Mac Attack (a cheeseburger-type option with Angus beef, lettuce, pickles, and onions), as well as some gluten free choices, plus plenty of cocktails and beer. Available for takeout with online preordering." - Gabe Guarente

Stopped in for lunch and grabbed a seat at the bar. I had a slice, a salad, and an adult beverage; everything hit the spot. I’ve been coming here for years, and it’s always been a solid go-to. The food still tastes good, though I do think it had a little more of that wow factor when the place first opened. Before this spot, I remember the Chinese restaurant that used to be here, New Luck Toy. That was a great place with its own charm. Still, it’s nice to see this space continue to be a neighborhood favorite.

Google
Stopped in with friends for a birthday. Accommodating staff and GREAT pizza. The HUGE 13 in slices are well worth the $9.99/ea. We will definitely come back here if we're ever looking for food in the area.

Google
This place is huge! The vibe here is very relaxed. We really enjoyed the songs they were playing when we visited. We ordered melina mocktail, italian house salad, slice of drunken sicilian and west side. The salad had a mild dressing that we liked a lot. The mocktail was really sour but it started to taste better later when the ice melted some more. The pizza slices were big and they offered to cut it in pieces. They tasted fresh and were delicious. We really enjoyed our time here.

Google
This place doesn't fool around with pizza by the slice. Seriously one slice was enough, the second was the folly of hubris. The slices themselves came out pretty quick and hit the spot, pretty good pizza. The bartender was really friendly and the place itself is clean and seems well run.

We ordered takeout from their online order and the food was fresh and hot! You could feel the steam coming from the bag. I got the small pasta with meatballs and ordered an extra meatball which I don't recommend, too much meatballs. The tomato pasta had a great garlicky taste to it and definitely not your ordinary melted tomato sauce. Also the margarita pizza had refreshing tomatoes and lots of greens! But I was a little upset with the tiramisu because it's not the one I'm used to. This one was more watery and tasted slightly like throw up if I'm honest. The tiramisu was also slightly spicy and reminded me of leche cake but with a more coffee flavor. I personally do not like soggy cakes which is probably why I did not prefer this one. However, cool atmosphere and people and great food!

Google
Do you want great food, exceptional service, and tranquil atmosphere? This is the place for you! I wanted New York style pizza slices and this place did not disappoint. Portions are huge. The salad was amazing and even though we were stuffed, we had to order dessert. Don’t be afraid to ask for recommendations, our waiter was so friendly and made us feel like we were right at home, dining with friends. Next time we’re visiting there’s five more things on the menu that I’m going to have to try. Dine local y’all!

Google
Unfortunately the food was cold even though it was "being put together" when our son in law went to pick it up. At first, the person said the order wasn't received. We just wanted pizza that was convenient. Just not a positive experience 😔this was a takeout order.

Google
Dinner for 4, loved the vibe of the place, but everyone gave the food a 3-star rating. 👍 Cool vibe, larger than it looks from the street,. Warm, welcoming. 👍 Good service from Tyrone. 👉 The concept is cool with pizzas coming in essentially large or giant-size sharable slices but the execution is mediocre for flavor.

Yelp
I went here with a friend on a Saturday night to a sizeable crowd that was inside. It's a restaurant and bar with karaoke on Saturday nights so there were a ton of people packed in during my stay here, which added to the very noisy vibes here. The bar is situated in the mifdle of the place, and it's dimly lit inside, somewhat perfect for both big-group casual hangouts and maybe even casual dates. You get a menu and order what you want from there. Service was very fast, direct and wr got our pizzas - along with any water and napkins we wanted - very quickly. As for parking, you'll need to rely on street parking for the most part to get here. And parking is TIGHT on a Saturday night like for most places. The pizzas (and even the pizza slices) here are humongous! I heard they're 14-inch slices, and that's pretty much what it was when we got our swine lover's and Kauai pizzas. The swine lover's had pepperoni, bacon, Italian sausage and tons of cheese. The Kauai pizza was akin to Hawaiian pizza, and had pineapple and bacon. Both slices were huge though pretty thin. Regardless, my friend and I got full from each of our slices, and even shared a caesar salad on the side! Our salad was a side that served two people as a side note. My swine lover's pizza was dang delicious, and came out piping hot and fresh! The pepperoni was done well, and the sausage and bacon added even more savory taste onto the pizza. It was just awesome all over! And the Kauai pizza was too with its not-that-mild taste. Great place for great pizza and appropriate vibes for those who want to go out in West Seattle! This place made it feel like there was a nightlife I was missing out in this area.

Yelp
This place is great, good location and awesome food! Food wise, they have these giant slices of thin slice pizza which are amazing. We also got a couple pastas which was very flavorful, and a good amount of garlic flavor in the alfredo which is a plus! I got a arugula salad with chicken, and the grilled chicken was very good. Price is very reasonable too for the west Seattle area! Service was great also, the guy was super attentive for how busy it was. He was very quick and everything came fast! Ambiance was fun! It turns into more of a Karaoke bar on Friday and Saturday night, so people are jamming and vibing so you get a dinner and show kinda deal. The place is pretty clean too! Overall, I really enjoyed this place last night! It's in a great location with other bars in the area. Opens till late also, so you can always grab a bite and a beer with the gang and end the night on a bang!

Yelp
We have been dining and drinking at Talarico's since 2006 when it opened, for date night and family dinner out. The food has consistently been great and so has the service. Our last few visits have been underwhelming, but this last one was really disappointing. Our slices were undercooked and we had to send them back. When the new slices came out, they were still undercooked and unappealing. We also had a salad which was meh. We get this is just pizza slices and not the end of the world. But, it makes me sad that the dependable Talarico's is no more. There is plenty of pizza competition in the Junction, they better step up their game.

Yelp
I tried two of their pizza slices & their fettuccine Alfredo and wasn't impressed. The pizza wasn't super flavorful, and the pasta wasn't either. The service was good, and they do have a lot of TVs which would be great for if you want to have a drink and watch a game. I won't be back for the food, though.

Yelp
The pizza and spaghetti are very good. Very good customer service. I've been here during lunch and late night and it's still great service.

Yelp
I just had to come here again! This is by far the best pizza restaurant in Washington and maybe even the US! Service and ambiance is amazing as well!

Yelp
A local sports bar serving slices of pizza, as well as other items. The service was adequate; it was busy, but the servers stopped by to check on us. We sampled a variety of food. While the slices were huge, the dough was limp and overall a bit greasy. I didn't try the wings; one sibling said they were cold, the other liked the flavor. The house salad was plain iceberg lettuce with crudely chopped vegetables. The beet salad was tasty though, as were the meatballs.

Yelp
The pizza slices are huge!!! Lots of cool flavors and extra points for them being named after film directors. Great service, great atmosphere, highly recommend the swine lovers slice if you're a meat lover. Their ranch is also amazing to dip the crust in. Biggest and yummy pizza slices in Seattle!

Brian S.

Yelp
Straw/mint whiskey sour delicious. Wedge salad was great. Giant slice of Soprano was tough to know if it was enough but it was. Our server Diego was excellent and helpful getting our order correct. Extremely fast service! Fun environment.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
When you hear that each slice can be up to $9, you might think that this place is quite pricey, but it is in fact the opposite: each slice was gigantic and this was well worth the price. Honestly, just one slice was enough to make me full. The pizza quality itself was also quite good. I personally enjoyed the crust as it was not too chewy and crisp. The diverse pizza choices is also amazing as there should be a pizza for everyone. 5/5 just for the great pizza deal, but the servers and bartenders were also very nice and accommodating even though we came pretty close to closing.

Yelp
We had our holiday party at Talaricos and it was perfect. The food was delicious, the service was great. The party would not have been as wonderful if it were anywhere else. Thank you Talarico's for such a warm, fun environment!

Yelp
stopped in for a beer and a bite. sat at the bar, they had tvs and some light music playing. waitress was polite and helpful, food came out fast. they have a great caesar salad but i found the pizza so-so. didn't wow me.
google avatar

Kjerstin R.

Yelp
Tasty place and awesome to grab a slice. They are huge! But they also have a delicious caesar salad and their soups are always SO GOOD! They have karaoke on the weekends, so be prepared if you're going later in the evening. It can be a bit noisy. Service is very good and people are friendly! I definitely recommend this place!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here twice in a month, and it's been awesome. All the staff is attentive AND friendly. I got the West Side pizza, 14 in(awesome price!), and the soup of the day: Marsala, mushroom, and artichoke. Both YUM! The vibe in this place is they have their regulars, and for good reason. Kayla is a sweetheart, and so is Keanu-service with a sweet smile! Angel's Envy whiskey for $13, what??? Yes please! Pricing here is super reasonable. I'm going to join the "regulars" family

Yelp
I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT TALARICO'S! This is one of my favorite places in Seattle to take friends and family from out of town for a casual night out. - The pizza is amazing! HUGE SLICES at GREAT PRICES! The crust is flavorful and cooked to absolute perfection with a good fold and a nice crisp on the bottom. All of the toppings are fresh and well seasoned. I have tried every pizza on the menu and there is not a bad slice among them. - Outside of pizza, the other menu options are delicious too. Really enjoy the Artichoke dip and Chicken Parmesan. - Excellent drink menu with a variety of rotating local craft beers and cocktails. Good pours at great prices. - Tons of indoor and outdoor seating options. Even when it has been super busy, we have not waited long for a seat and they've always been able to accommodate our group size. - AWESOME STAFF! Everyone on the Talarico's staff has been super friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent service each time I have been there. They really put in the effort to make sure you are cared for and have a good time. Highly recommend Talarico's. This place does not disappoint!

Yelp
We loved this place so much! This place is legit amazing. The pizza slices are giant and absolutely delish, the caesar garlic perfection, the garlic bread will appear in my dreams, the pesto penne pasta chefs kiss... We never hang in west Seattle and now we have a reason to rush back! YUM! Great service and good vibes too!!!

Sarah S.

Yelp
Terrible service like wow. The atmosphere is very old modern like and targeted for adults it's not meant for family's whatsoever no kids I wouldn't recommend. If you enjoy mediocre food and very dim creepy bar vibes with most unreflective staff you encounter I would say dine here....However If you prefer a good selection of food and drinks and more so family atmosphere with kinder staff who are normal I would say look elsewhere.!
google avatar

Dave A.

Yelp
First time there. Overall positive experience. Pizza was on point and in my opinion the best item. Meatballs weren't bad despite rave reviews to try them. I found them dense and meaty without much taste. Caesar tasted like it had some older lettuce mixed in so wasn't a huge fan. Garlic bread was a good starter. Our sever was great and attentive.
google avatar

Jared C.

Yelp
Always great food and service when coming to Talarico's. Known for their giant pizza slices! My go to order is a slice of Swine Lovers and Kauai.
google avatar

Michele F.

Yelp
Agree with many others that the pizza is subpar. It's precooked cheese pizza lacking sauce with toppings thrown on during the reheat process. This was obvious when my slice came out so quickly after being ordered. I got a piece of the Kauai pizza and while the ham had sort of melted into the cheese topping, all of the pineapple pieces were just loosely sitting on top and both toppings were tepid at best. The crust was lukewarm, barely browned, and tasted like a frozen pizza crust. While the slices are huge (about the size of two normal slices), the quality is lacking. Our server was great and kept checking in on us during a very busy night, but that wouldn't be enough for me to come back for more pizza.
google avatar

Carolina A.

Yelp
I was really really hungry when I arrived at Talarico's which was recommended by someone who lives nearby and is a regular. We sat outside because I had my dog with me and were given the menu right away. But our server never came so we ended up ordering from the host. Our waiter came later to apologize and the saving grace was that the food came out super quick. We ordered the chop salad and I had a slice (yes, huge slice) of the butternut pizza Wow! I don't know what kind of sorcery they do to their crust that makes it so crispy and delicious. It has a special taste and I don't know what is but I loved it. Definitely recommend. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Giant slices, kewl bar, big TV's for watching the Mariners! What's not to like? Meatballs are great too!
google avatar

Yelp
Area: Very walkable. Street parking and pay lot are both conveniently located nearby. Location is on the main street, well-lit, and with good food traffic. Interior: Inside is somewhat like a sports bar, however they welcome families (under 21) until 10pm. Inviting, comfortable with plenty of table and bar seating. Service: Came here on two different occasions, once on a weeknight evening and the second during lunch on a Saturday. Both times the service was good, just a different crowd later in the evening. Food: Pizzas were great. We ordered a full-size salad to share. Fresh, tasty and generous quantities. Overall: We enjoyed both visits and will return.
google avatar

Marelle H.

Yelp
ENORMOUS slices of pizza! Compared to other pizza places, the slices are super inexpensive. The slices measure 14 inches, and are about $7. I've never ordered a whole pie, but I imagine you would need a truck to transport it lol! Other menu items are also very reasonably priced. Large bar, interesting seating options, and quick to-go orders.

Yelp
Best HAPPY HOUR IN TOWN!!! $4-5 14' inch pizza slices (HUGE SLICES) Cheap appetizers $5 dollar beers/wines/drinks Our server was super friendly and told us about the specials and everything in there menu looks amazing! Must go to pizza spot here in West Seattle (:
google avatar

Matt H.

Yelp
Actually went back and had really good experiences both times. Newer staff (I think?) are very friendly and food was quite good. Beet salad and Coppola pizza can't be beat. (No pun.) I normally don't eat pizza crust but did this time - had that great, yeasty, homemade taste. Delicate and lovely.

McKenn H.

Yelp
Love the environment is amazing darkish and intimate service and the food quality is good and they have amazing drinks

Yelp
This pizza spot is a huge staple in West Seattle. I went to Talarico's plenty of times when I lived in West Seattle about 10 years ago. Coming back today after years of not visiting, I am happy to report that their pizza slices are still as delicious as I remembered and still HUGE! Pretty affordable for $7 (I remember when they used to be $4). We went around 6:30p on a Saturday evening and the place was very crowded. We got lucky a table just got cleared off. I took off a star because the bathroom was rough.. dirty stalls with dirty sinks and paper towel dispenser out of commission. Also they got lazy with the pizza toppings and not evenly distributed. Still, the flavor was there and my crust had the perfect rise to it!

Alana L.

Yelp
So so delicious. Iverson took the best care of us and was so attentive. We love him. Hella good Cesar salad and good vibes and low lighting. Nice to people watch karaoke
google avatar

Johnny U.

Yelp
Best big slice pizza in WS. Good spot for a slice, cold beer and watching a game with friends.

R W.

Yelp
We ended up here on the recommendation of locals. They were not wasting our time. I ended up getting a slice of "South Street" and the mozzarella balls. Both of these things were outstanding. A couple days later, I came back and had the Chicken Parm. Which was very good. The next time I go, I'll stick with the pizza which I can hardly wait to have again. PS - beware there are multiple karaoke nights. So if you're not in the mood for that, get the pizza to go.
google avatar

Eileen H.

Yelp
Talarico's serves up humongous slices of pizza for ~$7 apiece. I've been here twice and have tried the Sweet Mia and Drunken Sicilian. Both were very tasty in their own way. The Sweet Mia was loaded with bold toppings, while the Drunken Sicilian had flavors that melded together and complemented each other perfectly. I would recommend eating both with a fork, because the pizza itself is quite thin and can't hold up all the toppings. The crust was on the drier side. Service was excellent during both visits. Our servers were very attentive and frequently came by to check on us and top off our water. Parking is challenging in this part of West Seattle, definitely plan to circle the block for street parking.
google avatar

Pakas L.

Yelp
Good first time experience. A group of friends and I went on a Friday night. We made a reservation. Service was ok, could've been better. Our waiter didn't seem interested in working lol. Food was good as well. Ordered a large 18 inch pizza, some garlic cheese bread, dip and spaghetti and meatball. Pizza = 4/5 Garlic cheese bread = 2/5 Dip = 4/5 Spaghetti meatball = 0/5

daine h.

Yelp
Sometimes great sometimes ok. The last two times I went the pizza was undercooked as is doughy. I'm not one to really complain. Im generally ordering a slice of pizza or two and it's a good price. I'm definitely going back at some point I just hope it's cooked long enough. hard to grade because sometimes it's a 4 star and sometimes it's a 2 star.
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
Woah these are some HUGE pizza slices. I used to live in New York so I know a thing or two about thin crust pizza and this is quite good. I'm not saying this is better than NY style pizza, but the gimmick of SUPER SIZED 14" long thin crust pizza works. Keep in mind that if you get an entire large pizza for family/friends, the entire pie will be 28 inches in diameter! Crazy right!? One thing that can make/break a thin crust pizza is the crust. If it's too crispy, it will likely either be hard or taste burnt. If it isn't crisp on the bottom, it will just be soggy and all of the toppings will just fall off which is sad. But these guys do a great job of ensuring its integrity. On top of that, they have quite a large variety of toppings/flavors, you're bound to find something that you like. My only negative thing is their tomato sauce. TBH, it's quite average. As a California native, it seems like most people on the west coast are more focused on the toppings, but tend to put less thought into making a nice crust and more importantly a delicious tomato sauce. This is essential to binding everything together and creating a well balanced slice/pie. I do however think that pizza from Talarico's is really fun, tastes good, and is quite filling. After 2 slices I was stuffed! If you're ever craving thin crust pizza in West Seattle and want something big to show off to your friends, I'd highly recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
Tallricos is decent. It's basically a dive bar level pizza place with loud karaoke on the weekends. If I'm honest, the drinks are wack and like what you'd have in college so just stick to beer or straight liquor. I didn't even finish my drink. Maybe we're spoiled in the PNW but I feel like were past the cheap mixer vibe. Use real fruits, juice, etc or it just tastes bad. They have gluten free pizza that's just okay and as overpriced as anywhere else. It's also cracker crust which is nothing to write home about. Their enormous pizza is fun for a party but overall this is okay pizza, open late. That's about it.
google avatar

Ms. Janette B.

Yelp
Just plain, Great Italian AND they have spaghetti squash on the menu. THERE is a first!
google avatar

Talulah M.

Yelp
Toppings thrown on cold pizza Ordered a whole pie online for takeout. Arrived to pick up the pizza at exactly at the stated time. For $62, we received a cold, dry, cheese pizza that was definitely pre-made and sitting around. The toppings had been thrown on after the fact. You can see from the photos that the pizza was sliced while it was cold and the toppings definitely weren't in an oven. We were excited to make this our first stop to celebrate the bridge reopening but this was so lazy and disappointing and not worth it.
google avatar

Pratima M.

Yelp
A poppin' spot in Fremont for pizza and good music -- we stopped by on a Friday night and were able to get seated outside easily. The setup inside was also SO sick, with tons of pool tables and a small dance floor later in the night. We came right before the kitchen closed, but they were super accommodating. Their pizza is honestly a bit gimmicky but... it was SO fun and tasty! We got the GIANT pizza and truly nothing could've prepared us for the sheer scale of this pie. You can easily split it between 4-6 people depending on how hungry you are. We got the Veggie Villani and it was super tasty. I loved the vegetables and the ricotta on top. I would totally come back here for more 'za and some pool in the future!

Daniel C.

Yelp
Love the ambiance. Like the food. Dont love being snapped at by the bartender. Thats not the way you treat your guests. She was holding the half empty beer without a napkin which usually indicates a taken seat.... but the bar was almost full--but she snapped at my companion who couldnt hear her cause its loud. Snide attitude. No bueno. So we were seated at a table off the bar. Oh and guess what? no one ever came back for the beer. Bar emptied and filled up again. Bar seat with the backwash of beer still at the bar--we save seats indefinitely??? We live across the street. Would of loved to say that we would be back; but too many great choices on the strip. And if we ever come back to the bar well make sure to sit at a table especially if the lovely young lady who was tending bar tonight is there. Nope!
google avatar

Adela G.

Yelp
The pizza here is HUGE and pretty good. The pasta is tasty however I probably wouldn't order the garlic bread again, wasn't bad but not worth it for me. Would definitely come here again for a late night bite given it's quick and the vibe is chill and relaxed
google avatar

Raquel O.

Yelp
The hostess was friendly and we got sat down right away and was not too busy for late dinner. The place has seating outdoors but it was full so we sat inside by a window. The waiter came by right and asked for our order. I told waiter we we're splitting and he brought out extra plates and even had the pizza cut for us to share! I thought it was a great gesture of him. I ordered their Cab and the menu does not mention the name but it was really good! It was a very smooth one. For appetizers we ordered the meatballs and they were so flavorful! My brother ordered the slice of the Swine lovers pizza and I got the penne pesto pasta with grilled chicken. I have nothing bad to say. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. I myself would add a tad bit more salt to the pasta but when I added extra parmesan it made a difference. Overall had a great experience with service and food and would definitely come back to try other menus.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh my oh my. I don't even know where to start. I'm the biggest pizza lover, and Talarico's has probably become one of my favorite pizza spots in Seattle. Although it doesn't beat NY pizza, it sure does come close to hitting the spot whenever I crave it. Their slices are SO big and so flavorful. The pizza is definitely high quality, with the perfect thinness and balance of crunch and chew. I cannot rave enough about Talarico's. I decided to take on the challenge and order two slices, but there was no way I was finishing it lol. One slice really fills you up, and will leave you more than satisfied with the pizza craving! They also had a nicely covered and heated seating area outside that just sets the vibe of the place even better. Their service is also top notch, and I could not get over how friendly and easy to talk to everyone was. I highly recommend hitting up Talarico's because I know I will be back very soon!

Bailey B.

Yelp
Busy place on a Friday night but it was delicious! I definitely recommend calling ahead of time and making a reservation. The entrance to the restaurant is small and they have you wait outside for a table if you don't already have a reservation. Reasonable prices, but they do charge extra for nearly everything: ranch, toppings, extra plate etc. loud environment but kid friendly. Full bar. And the slices are huge.

Travis H.

Yelp
So I guess the Kitchen closes early on Sunday's so I would call to double check. Even then I'm not certain the response you receive is accurate. Drove from Leavenworth just to find out that they closed the Kitchen.
google avatar

Sharine N.

Yelp
Very cute place. Dim lightning, twinkle lights, solid wooden booths, and a bar in the middle of the place. Reasonable prices with HUGE 14 inch slices. There are a variety to choose from! It was fun seeing everyone's different pizza slice. The crust was on the thinner side. Our server was friendly and refilled our waters frequently. Although there was a bar, it was still a great place to take our kids. Street parking.
google avatar

Hanna C.

Yelp
There's 3 reasons you come here. 1) For some eclectic delicious pizza; 2) Trivia Nights are excellent; 3) To solo at the bar top on a week day night and read a book, watch a game or make a new friend. The vibe here is just right for about any mood. The servers seem to have high turn over, but always make due.
google avatar

Yaela E.

Yelp
I haven't eaten here but I have enjoyed their Karaoke nights. They have a large selection of songs and good equipment.
google avatar

Toma C.

Yelp
We came in from Los Angeles and when we got off the plane our son suggested this place since we didn't have dinner on the plane. Omg this was incredible pie. I always gets pepperoni so I can compare them. The pepperoni was not as crunch as I like but still very delicious. You're able to request how you want your pizza I chose extra crispy. The Al pastor slice was off the hook. The sauce had a kick to it. I would definitely come back.
