Best Thai Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"This no-frills Thai restaurant is a popular spot in Suwanee for Thai curries, platters of basil rolls, chicken satay, and fried pot stickers, and entrees of drunken noodles, rama (sliced flank steak in coconut milk and curry paste), pad Thai, and a Thai lamb chop served in basil sauce. The restaurant offers a papaya salad done either Thai or Laos-style, as well as section of Talay (Thai-Chinese) dishes." - Carolyn Desalu

Absolutely outstanding experience! This Thai restaurant exceeded all my expectations. The flavors were authentic, vibrant, and perfectly balanced, every dish was clearly made with fresh ingredients and a lot of heart. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere from the moment I walked in. Service was prompt, friendly, and professional.

Google
Talay is one my favorite eateries. On a monthly basis I probably visit 10-12 times. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. Food is fresh to order, and always hot! I work and live in the area so Talay is usually top on the list when I want soup. Would I recommend yes, and I do. Coconut Chicken Soup -soooooo yummy!

Google
Talay is my family’s favorite local restaurant! We’ve been eating here for over ten years with only great experiences! The food is fresh, flavorful and the staff is always welcoming and delightful. With many vegan options, I’m always left satisfied. Portions are large and I’ve never regretted anything I’ve tried here! 10/10 recommend! :)

Google
Fast service. Food got to me quickly and well spiced. Appetizer was spring rolls with slightly watered down sauce. For main I ordered the Pad Thai as it’s usually a known dish for me and I was in a hurry. All in all not bad but two key areas were problems. It was entirely too sweet. I mean there is supposed to be a sweetness to it but it was overpowering. Also, the chicken was so thinly cut it had gone a little dry. The noodles however were cooked perfectly. Normal on the service side. Great presentation. For a quick eat I would eat here again but not if I was craving 5 star Thai.

Google
I’ve been coming here for a few years now, and I’m always very pleased with my experience. The staff is always very friendly, the food always hits the spot, and I’ve eaten in and ordered take out on numerous occasions. My go to’s are the pad Thai and basil fried rice. If you’re looking for a tasty meal full of flavor, definitely give this place a try.

Google
Pros- they have delicious veg spring rolls. The steamed rice was amazing. The best part is they had Singha beer and few other imported beers available in the menu Cons- the egg fried rice was flavorless. The lamb chops were undercooked and dragon noodles were more on sweeter side instead of being bit tangy in taste

Google
Gave 3 stars just because the food is good but out server was AWFUL! She had an attitude with all of her tables as soon as they sat down. You could see it all on her face and with her snark remarks when asked something. Get rid of her and your restaurant could be better!

Google
Environment: Decent. Paper Napkins were of good quality came as a wrapper of spoons & forks. Bathroom was clean & well equipped. Food: Calamari, as a starter, was pretty flat in flavor. I had better calamari before. Tom Yum Soup was ok-ish but after mixing their house blend spicy sauce, the taste & flavor increased significantly. At that point, I was kinda disappointed & was waiting for a surprise with our Entrée i.e. Drunken Noodle & Thai Basil dishes. But they didn't disappoint me! Though they didn't look like the pictures we saw in the previous reviews but taste was great. The veggies were fresh cut & therefore, flavor was running all over my mouth. The Thai Tea was perfect as expected. Service: The lady server was smiley & talkative. I don't know why but she preferred Thai Dishes over the Chinese dishes to serve & I trusted her preferences for the Entrée after being disappointed with the Starter & Soup, & of course she saved our evening with some good choices. Price: Price was decent for a but the portion could be more! Recommend? YES! We'll try next time some other dishes certainly.

Yelp
Great, authentic Thai food! We had the thai fried rice, calamari, Tom yum soup, pad Thai, and crispy walnut shrimp. All amazing, no complaints! The staff was also really nice and attentive and the restaurant was very clean. We also got our food pretty quickly. Perfect spot for a relaxed date night or for a family dinner or anything in between.

Yelp
BE AWARE: I tipped a good amount and the workers had taken an extra tip from my credit card once the transaction was done pending. I strongly encourage consumers to check their credit card postings after dining here to make sure the staff is taking out the correct amount for your credit card tip. In regards to food, I got the drunken noodles and my friend got the ginger chicken. The drunken noodles were a little sweet yet savory in my opinion. The only reason for the one star is due to extra tip taken out of my credit card without my consent. Besides that, the food and service were ok.

Yelp
Went to Talay for dinner. Food was mediocre, not sure if the owners changed or the chef changed. But i asked for my food to be spicy, but it was still mild. Service is quick, but quality of food could be better. It was nice to see that they had Christmas decorations up, felt festive. But overall, if this is your only option for Thai food you can try it, but don't have high hopes.

Yelp
A small thai place located in a complex. Plenty of parking available outside. Upon entering, we were seated immediately on a Thursday night for a party of 6. There were maybe 2-3 other patrons. Service was excellent, and food and drinks were brought out pretty fast. I ordered the pad kee mao with tofu (extra hot) and my boyfriend ordered the panang curry with tofu (hot). I will say the drunken noodles were pretty spicy, and delicious, but not the best I've had (ie Surina or little Bangkok). The sauce seemed a little thick? And coated the noodles weirdly, but it tasted delicious. I believe if you order the veggie they don't give any eggs in it either. The tofu was good as well. The panang curry was pretty mild in terms of spiciness and well portioned. They do give a little bit of rice, which may not be enough. Similarly to the drunken noodles, the curry seemed thicker? My suspicion is that they use a cornstarch slurry or something of the like to make it thicker. The taste was still great. The thai iced tea was good, but pretty watered down? I wouldn't get this again. Overall, worth a visit if you're in the area, but I will likely not frequent this establishment again.

Yelp
There is limited parking available by the restaurant, it can get busy during peak hours. It's pretty close to the Assi plaza. Very casual dining, only indoor seating available. A fair selection of Chinese and Thai food available. Only a few other table were there when we went for dinner. So we were seated right away and service was pretty fast too. Thai tea: tasted delicious! Not too sweet which I appreciated. Potstickers: very crispy, more on the lighter seasoning for the filling. Tom yum soup with chicken: if you like sour/more acidic flavor, this is the perfect soup for you! Not spicy, although you can ask for my spice. I do wish the soup was actually boiling...but it was at least warm. Spicy Thai Spaghetti with shrimp: we got 3 out of 5 for spicy level. It had a hint of spicy but the bell pepper sweetness balanced it out. The shrimp felt a little undercooked. Panang curry with pork: also got a level 3, but this definitely had more of a kick to it! The curry has a rich coconut flavor but still spicy! Overall really enjoyed the meal here and would be back.

Yelp
of I could build a time machine, I would kill the guy [aka younger version of myself] who left a lower review for Talay....Talay is a "must visit" every time I am in Suwanee. Great service, solid menu, many long time loyal followers. And- if you order something truly "spicy" .....get ready. They will blow you away!! Pad Thai, curries, pad see ew, all the hits are very well done w great service!

Yelp
Yes, just go! Delicious authentic Thai food that will satisfy your cravings! Thai food is my favorite go to! And my #1 rule of thumb is, if the papaya salad is good, everything else is good. This will be my new favorite spot for thai food! Yum!
google avatar

Yelp
Had the chicken fried rice -- was delicious, large portion too! Took it home for leftovers. I will say the mango on the mango sticky rice wasn't ripe and our waitress almost brought us the wrong plates. Ultimately was a great place, highly recommend the food! Will be back!

Lynette S.

Yelp
Ordered $15 curry and when it arrived it was practically an empty container and it's disgusting. What a complete rip off. Sharing a photo so you can see the garbage they served. This is the most unauthentic tasteless overpriced Thai food I've ever had.
google avatar

Yelp
We just tried this hidden gem tonight To say we were completely satisfied would be an understatement! The service was top rate and the food was so good that we will be coming back soon with family and friends. The atmosphere was comfortable and the design pleasing. We had coconut chicken soup and spring rolls as an appetizer. Our meal was basil chicken and fried rice with shrimp. Both were superb. Keep up the good work Talay.

Yelp
Talay is a long-time family favorite. We have our standby favorites because we're creatures of habit. All ingredients are fresh. Love all the soups. Pad Prik King is delicious, as is beef pepper steak. They use good cuts of meat, so never get an unchewable. The tangerine beef is crispy and addictive. Try their specials - the chef is amazing!
google avatar

Harris P.

Yelp
One of the best Thai restaurants I've ever had. Their Panang curry is amazing, are the Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, and Crispy Cheese Rolls.

Anna C.

Yelp
Best fried rice I've ever had!!! You've gotta try their Nasi Goreng rice and you'll see what I'm talking about. You won't be going anywhere else for fried rice but here!
google avatar

Pisey K.

Yelp
If you're in town, make sure to check this place out. They have automatic flavor foods and the decor inside is a must see. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Manoj P.

Yelp
My first visit to this place. Their drunken noodles is super good. Not over crowed. Good presentation. Clean. Give it a try!

Josh O.

Yelp
Best Thai food in the area. We always get green curry, drunken noodle, and coconut soup. The service is always good, and this is definitely a restaurant we eat at every other week. The Thai tea is great too!
google avatar

Yelp
Well, after many months I decided to take the owner up on their offer but the girl taking the order over the phone didn't want to honor the two dish order only one.

Kristin T.

Yelp
Best Thai food in Atlanta area. This is the place that I measure all other thai restaurants off of.

Yelp
We stumbled across this restaurant one day via DoorDash and it's now a fave. Love the chicken coconut soup, all the appetizers are great, and the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodle dishes are regulars for our family. Always consistently good.

Yelp
This place has been bookmarked for years even before moving into the area. I finally had the opportunity amidst this Covid-19 craziness to do a to-go order. They were super quick. Though they estimated 10 to 15 mins before the food to be ready, I was there in about 5 or so with the order being brought out to my car almost immediately. I didn't specify which type of pad Thai I wanted so I wasn't sure what the price or protein (if any) I was getting. I assumed a Thai place would have pad Thai, and I assumed correctly. Lol. It ended up being chicken and shrimp (about 3 pieces -- I forget now) for $8.75 for a lunch portion that included a veggie egg roll. The portion was pretty okay. Though thinking about it, a small chunk of the space was filled with carrots and bean sprouts in a smaller container (those half sized ones compared to the large). So portion wise, there wasn't as much noodles. Though I enjoyed the pad Thai (pretty authentic), I think the portion isn't as great compared to another place in the surrounding area. I would give this place 3.5 stars, but my experience was positive so 4 stars it is.

Ms P.

Yelp
I love everything about Talay. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. My favorite is Spicy Spaghetti!

Trey F.

Yelp
We ordered take out of Green Curry and Drunken Noodles - both were fairly bland (I had requested the Drunken Noodle be Thai Hot). Not planning to order from them again. Basil Rolls were mediocre.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
Basil fried rice is bomb! Talay Thai is that hidden gem! I have tried many items on the menu but every time I am drawn back to the basil fried rice. The basil fried rice comes with the meat of your choice and many vegetables. I like the chicken for this because it is sliced very thin and absorbs all the great flavor. In addition it has bell peppers which add good flavor and crunch to the fried rice dish and just elevate the experience! Be warned though it is spicy! Another point worth mentioning is that the last few times I went it was a bit too spicy for me but the team gladly granted my wish and made it less spicy for me which I appreciate greatly!

Yelp
I've been on the hunt for a good quality thai restaurant ever since my go-to restaurant in Decatur, GA closed for good many, many, moons ago. And this one is not it. My main thing is that I'm looking for is the food to have that balance of thai flavors of salty, spicy, sour and sweet. With my food, I only got the sweet. I came two weeks ago based on the reviews and ordered for pickup. I got the chicken rama, drunken noodles with chicken, cheese rolls and mango sticky rice. Both the Rama and drunken noodles were entirely too sweet. In fact, that was all I tasted, just the sugar. And the drunken noodles was missing that smokey flavour and charr (from the dragon's breath) when it is prepared in a wok. With the cheese rolls, they were bland and was just cream cheese with imitation meat. There was no other seasonings or veggies to give it any flavor. My go-to restaurant added veggies like carrots and onions with real crab meat and the cream cheese was lightly sweetened where the sweet chili sauce was not needed. The sticky rice with mango also did not have that balance. The mangos were not ripe and the rice with the sauce was just sweet. I didn't taste any saltiness that normally comes from the sauce. Also I've gotten spoiled with some recipes that added pandan leaves to soak with the rice mixture to infuse a warm nutty flavor. As for the locale, it is located in the shopping center behind the BP gas station on Old Peachtree Rd. With this shopping center, parking is very scarce when it is busy. On the day I came, I've seen some people get creative with parking, but it is an inconvenience for people trying to leave or coming in. Pickup was no muss, no fuss. I only saw one table for people dining in (maybe that was foreshadowing of how my meal would be). Well, I gave it a try and will continue my search.

Yelp
You probably wouldn't even know there's a restaurant here but this hidden gem is a can't miss. The food is fantastic and price is really good too. I hard the curry chicken and sampled the General Tso's Chicken, courtesy of my company and both were the best I've ever had. It's hard to find good Asian food and sometimes people say a place is "the best" but it's just average. THIS IS NOT THAT! It's truly delicious and you owe it to yourself to eat here. The place usually always has seating available, likely due to people not knowing it's here, so you'll get seated and fed quickly. 10/10 will be coming here more often for sure. Updated to correct some grammatical errors.

Gabby P.

Yelp
Best pad Thai I have ever had!!!!! Order online and easy pick up. My go to once a week. Rave about this place!
google avatar

Uma P.

Yelp
Very average Thai place. Clean and private parking. We were seated quickly and the service was fast and good. Everyone was nice and attentive but the food was neither bad nor great. Appetizers were meh. The thai spaghetti was alright and the duck curry was good. Chicken skewers were dry and chewy. Dumplings weren't bad. Overall, nice people, good service but average food. Prices are decent. Good place for a quick Thai dinner. Go check it out, judge for yourself.
google avatar

John F.

Yelp
Service was good but my Pad Thai was not great. overcooked and just a blob of noodles with no flavor.
google avatar

Kurt D.

Yelp
After leaving this area 12 years ago I am grateful that Talay is still here and still making wonder food.
google avatar

Krelin N.

Yelp
This is our go to Thai spot in Gwinnett. Absolutely love the flavors and portion size. Lately I've been picking up myself or UberEats if I'm lazier, but the food tastes just as great at home. We are a plant based household so only vegetables discussed here. My favorite dish is the Veggie-Tofu Masaman. This item is so addicting. Mouth watering while writing this. Sweet and Savory sauces circulate and soak the vegetables and soft tofu. The avocado comes packaged separately for the delivery order so I generally toss it on top just before I'm ready to eat. Although I often finish this is one sitting I really need to start having the disciple to split into 2 for a small leftover lunch. We've also enjoyed the Panang, basil fried rice, and the lo mein. So many great options to explore here and all pack a diverse flavorful punch. For the last few months this place has been a weekly pickup in our household. Will continue to support!
google avatar

Charli V.

Yelp
In the same plaza as roll and pho, but on the opposite end. I came here on a Thursday night for dinner and it was pretty steady. A few patrons came in to sit at the bar with wine and maybe 3 other parties. The menu is complete with your standard Thai dishes and more. There is a section of chinese entrees as well. My date and I ordered the thai fried rice, crispy calamari, tom yum soup (to share), and red curry with beef, Highlights: The portion size of each order was just right. I liked that you can adjust the spice level of any dish. Complaints: The soup was too simple for the price. Had to ask for white rice. Overall, Talay is good when you want thai if you're in this area.
google avatar

Dave W.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best Tai Flat noodles I've ever had. The flavor of the PadSeeYew was excellent, and I reluctantly got the beef, but it was soft and very tasty. The springroll that came with the meal was really ceispy, and tasted fresh. Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. Definitely coming again.
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
Decided to order takeout since the reviews are really good. I had the Panang Curry and my husband had the Pad Thai. He loved it and finished eating before I could get a pic. My curry was really tasty, but a little thin. Not a bad thing, just personal preference. I prefer a thicker sauce. The basil rolls were a tad bland.
google avatar

Vicki N.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by the Thai food here. I've had both take out and dine-in for lunch. The first time I tried their Drunken Noodles with Shrimp. Sooo good! The noodles were not dry at all, there were tons of shrimp and the flavor was really good. I think I will ask it for a higher spice level next time. It came with a tom yum soup for an upcharge. The soup was decent. Not super amazing, but not too bad either. The second time I dined in during lunch on a weekday. It was actually pretty full, about 75%, but that did not stop them from delivering super quick service. The food came out fast! I ordered the panang curry with shrimp this time. It came with a veggie eggroll which was good but super-stuffed with vegetables. The curry was really good! I definitely recommend it if you like panang curry. I will definitely be back. Normally I only like getting Thai food at Thai of Norcross, but this place will definitely suffice since it's much closer to me.
google avatar

Sado D.

Yelp
I usually appreciate the food here, but my most recent visit, I had Bangkok Fried Rice, and I had a crunch in my fried rice, and it was definitely not vegetable crunch. I had eggshells in my fried rice hidden between the rice. So the first time, I didn't mind too much. It happened again but this time with a bigger piece hidden in my fried rice. The best dish I had here was the tofu penang curry. I feel like the way they prepare their chicken is not my favorite cause it feels "slimy" in my mouth; it's easier to chew that's for sure. I usually get their shrimp or go all veggie or with tofu. Pad Thai is pretty good. Get it with shrimp. I think coming for lunch is cheaper. But there are some food that won't matter what time you come.
google avatar

Khush S.

Yelp
Always delicious food. The staff can sometimes be a little not that friendly which I think is because of the language barrier. But would recommend the food at any time.
google avatar

Ron B.

Yelp
Sorry to say tonight will be our last at what used to be a regular thai destination. Every dish tonight was smothered in either salt or MSG or both. I have had the same issue with certain Chinese restaurants but never with Thai food. Two thumbs down.

Vanessa J.

Yelp
Oh they are just really good. Wonderful fried tofu and shrimp rolls. I get the larb. It's so tangy and herbal. My husband and I love LOVE LOVE Thai Food and this is our favorite.
google avatar

Cathy P.

Yelp
This in a very unassuming location that I never noticed before in driving by. Located at the end of a brick plaza. The food was really good! Papaya Salad is a traditional Thai dish made with shredded green papaya flavored with salty, sweet, lime, peanuts. So good and it really is wonderful to eat with your meal. It wasn't as authentic as that I had in Thailand but the flavors are bold and complex. Mongolian beef had great flavor and a nice char in the outside. Was slightly sweet with white onions not tins of green onions as I have seen other places make. Pad Thai can be hit or miss in some places and here it was perfect. Nice balance and not overly sweet. Green Curry was really green and filled with green beans, bell peppers and I ordered it with chicken. The sweet flavor was nice over rice. We really enjoyed our meal and look forward to going back.

Yelp
I was curious what "Talay" meant in Thai. I bet you are now too. Don't worry, I got this. In Wookiepedia "Talay was a location in the galaxy that served as an Alliance to Restore the Republic regional headquarters and operations sector during the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire." I don't think that's it. In Urban Dictionary "The term "Talay" in Brazilian Portuguese language is often known as beautiful/sexy goddess from the heavens that has a free spirit and is full of laughter and happiness , light hearted and accepting, many of the gods cant resist her beauty and fall for her constantly" I was actually very disappointed in urban dictionary. I expected something much more graphic. When all else fails check online dictionary. The word talay is used in Thai meaning sea or ocean. Now go ahead and hit that useful vote. Or don't. Walking in you are greeted with a handwritten note demanding that all your party be there before seating. This must be a big problem here to make this the focal point of your entrance. The environment is traditional strip mall Asian, functional with intentional nice touches, like a huge aquarium with beautiful fish setting the mood, except for the handwritten signs of course, saying not to tap on the glass. It should be noted that never in the history of tapping on glass, has a sign ever prevented a child from tapping on the glass. Someone really likes signs here. We were seated right away. We ordered golden tofu as an appetizer but were told it would take a long time to make. Ok, skip the tofu. We decided on the Massaman Curry and the Pad Thai. I'll admit I'm a sucker for well plated Thai food, and sadly these dishes were not fancy. Both were decently prepared, and a good quantity for the lunch price. The Pad Thai had all the right ingredients, just seemed to be missing the love. Servers took turns coming to the table. Two of the three were nice, one not so much. On the way out a got a toothpick from dispenser with a handwritten sign on it that said "twirl." Thanks. So here's where it gets tough. Talay is a solid 3 1/2 star restaurant, but there is no half star on yelp. 3 equals A-ok, 4 means I'm a fan. It's all the little things that make or break it here. It's A-ok.

Michelle M.

Yelp
Just picked up my order and in the Basil fried rice, was a super long piece of hair, grossed out will definitely not be eating my lunch nor will I ever go back.

Yelp
I recently moved to the area and came across Talay Thai a few weeks ago, and have already ordered from them 5 times! So far I've had their Panang curry, Masaman curry, Mongolian beef, pork fried rice, and their crispy cheese rolls and OMG ... all were absolutely delicious! I read other reviews who mentioned their food being bland or too sweet, etc., but I did not feel that way about my dishes. All were seasoned well in my opinion, and even when I ordered the same dish on a different day it still tasted the same, so I love their consistency. I also love how their Mongolian beef has crispy noodles, as most restaurants aren't as crisp and fresh. From the dishes I've tried, I highly recommend them!

Yelp
I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you're craving thai food in the suwanee/duluth area! Their soups are so good, and their portions are pretty big! I haven't been here for lunch, but their lunch menu/deals look amazing! The owner and servers are so nice and friendly, and service was amazing! The prices aren't bad at all, either. You can expect to pay around $12 for an entree.. and it's so worth it. UPDATE March 2019: I just recently went for lunch. Their lunch menus are served Monday through Saturday (!!!!) and have basically any entree that you would want included in their lunch specials. Their lunch portions are well worth it, and comes with an egg roll or soup.
google avatar

Nycole W.

Yelp
The best Thai restaurant in the area. The Panang is bomb and their Indonesian friend rice is bomb too
google avatar

Clay C.

Yelp
I have to admit, I can't make an unbiased review of Talay. We eat there so much, that it's like reviewing a family member's food. I like very spicy food and it's pretty much impossible to find a place that'll actually serve me something with a real 'kick'. That is, except for Talay. Admittedly, it took a while to get to the point it is now, but now that it is, we can always rely on Talay for a consistently great dinner.
google avatar

Veronica V.

Yelp
Excellent lunch spot. They are so fast and attentive when you are dining in. The food is consistently hot and excellent. The ladies that work there are lovely and attentive. Try any of the curries, you won't be disappointing. I love the Thai tea and the spring rolls as well. The sauce that come with the spring rolls is the right amount of spice. I've had lots of the dishes here, from Pad Thai to the General's Chicken, all with excellent flavor. I recommend this place.
google avatar

Jamarcus T.

Yelp
Oh Talay, Talay, you dodged a bullet today! Okay, that's a little dramatic, but when I came in just before noon for some lunch, I was greeted with a line...not of customers waiting to be seated, but a line of customers waiting to pay, and I just was out of luck with my to go order, as I stood and waited, and waited, and waited. I did eventually order, and I waited almost 20 minutes on a 1 hour break, but I think it was worth it. Don't believe me? Read on! I got myself the green curry chicken lunch special ($7.95), which came with a decent amount of sliced chicken breast, green peppers, green beans and a decent amount of curry sauce. White rice and a veggie egg roll with dipping sauce also came with the lunch order. I enjoyed the flavor of the curry, very smooth, and with a nice slow burn that catches up to you after you take a couple of mouth fulls. The egg roll was crispy/flaky, and slightly greasy, but I liked the flavor of it too. Here's the worth it part of Talay Thai. They have amazing customer service! Initially as I waited, staff came up to me, apologized and handed me a cup of sweet tea on the house. As my order finally came out, in my left hand was the green tea curry, and in my right, they comped me a yellow curry chicken meal without me asking. Wow, excellent! The yellow chicken curry was saved for dinner, and was reheated in the microwave, but fortunately, the flavor and consistency of the yellow curry held up well to the microwave, and delivered the same great flavor as the green curry did, although not nearly as spicy. In the curry was the same sliced chicken breast, carrots, potato, white rice, not as much curry sauce, but another egg roll. The egg roll, sadly did not hold up well to the microwave at all, and was pretty soggy, dripping with grease, so eat your egg rolls immediately if you get them. Located off of Old Peachtree Road, in the little strip that also contains Roll and Pho, parking might be tight, since it's a small lot and construction is going on but space shouldn't be so terrible to find. There are two entrances/exits to the lot, although neither have a traffic light exit, so be careful when you cross Old Peachtree, heading back towards 85. I'm a sucker for great customer service, and as soon as Talay Thai showed me how great their customer service was, the fact that their food was also tasty was just icing on the cake. Definitely will be back!

I've been eating here for a few years. The spicy how wings are very good!! I have tried the pad Thai, the Thai fried rice & several other dishes all of which are yummy. Very consistent with the food quality.

Yelp
My review for Talay is long overdue. I discovered this spot by accident one evening maybe about three months ago. If I ever had a stalker, they'd know exactly where to find me, because I'm here nearly every week. I've introduced many many of my friends and co-workers to this place, and they absolutely love it. It's located in a quiet plaza next to the BP gas station. Talay is discreetly tucked into the corner, but don't be fooled, because this is a popular lunch spot. There's ample seating so there's little to no wait. Ambiance is nice and quiet, they usually have some light jazz playing in the background. Their lunch menu ranges from about $8.25-$9.50, and comes with a side of soup or spring roll. Sorry for the lack of pictures, I tend to inhale my food as soon as it comes out. Fair warning, portions are generous and will leave you with intense food coma. Highly recommend: - Drunken Noodle: Savory, flavorful thick flat noodles with veggies, meat, and basil. Very moist. This is my absolute favorite. - Thai Fried Rice: I'm not a big fried rice person, but Talay makes one of the BEST fried rice. Ingredients are simple, but there's a distinct 'wok' flavor. (Wok flavor = food that is particularly aromatic due to the intense heat of the wok) - Sesame Chicken: This is one of their Chinese dishes. White meat chicken freshly fried. The outside is crispy, the inside is moist. Delicious. Recommend: - Green Curry: I crave green curry every so often, but have found that green curry in Georgia is very different from what I'm used to in New York. The green curry here is creamy and on the sweet side. It comes with string beans and bamboo shoot. Still a good choice, but I much prefer the less coconut-y New York version. - Tom Yum Soup; Coconut Soup: Their soups are homemade, you can tell because they taste nothing like the commercial pastes available in grocery stores. Essentially, it's a light lemongrass broth. Very different than what I'm used to, but I've grown to like it. OK: - Massaman Curry: Decided to explore my options this one time after coming here so many times. I think this was the only dish I've had that didn't match my flavor profile. Comes with avocado, cashews, and meat. It's also creamy (due to the coconut milk), but there's a distinct spice in there that I'm not too fond of. Overall, THE best Thai food I've come across in Atlanta thus far. Give it a try, you won't regret it!
