Tales Bar

A super cozy bar in the heart of Zurich with extremely skilled bartenders. The cocktails are very creative and even if you desire something that’s not on the menu the staff can make it. The bar is quite small so getting there early or making a reservation helps in getting a seat. We will frequent this bar more often. Cheers!

This is the best bar in Zürich. There may be good bars that locals favour more but this is THE BAR for cocktail lovers. The bartenders were so knowlegeable and the drinks were brilliant. We visited this bar with friends on our Switzerland roadtrip when we spent a few days in Zürich. This one was best of the Zürich bars. The 20th century was delicious. Despite being one of the simple ones, not all bartenders know how to make it as balanced. This bar passed the test. I will definitely visit again on my next trip here.

For a bunch of bartenders… going for after-work drinks on a Tuesday there is not very many options in Zürich city. This Bar tho, is always exceeding our expectations, Michael is a true pro and due any circumstance he delivers the goods! Cocktails cocktails cocktails⚡️⚡️⚡️

One of the best cocktails bar I've been too. Crowded since I came on a Friday. All the drinks were superb and very interesting. They're so nice too.

Deserves to be the best bar in Zurich. Why the heck is it not in the 100 best bars of the world already? Service is amazing. Instead of ordering from a menu I told them what I want directionally: spirit forward, not sweet, bitter or sour is great and liquor preference as nothing too sweet and no tequila. Tried cocktails in this order: Paper plane Kentucky yacht club Naked and famous Old fashioned - this was the perfect last cocktail - very smokey and capped off a great night. If I had started with this, I would have had 4 of these instead!! Unlike every other run of the mill old fashioned, zero hint of sweetness, just a huge depth of flavor. Imagine that!! Thematically, they were perfect! The curry wurst, spicy was a great accompaniment to the cocktails!

It's a very unique bar for Zurich . All coctails are hand crafted and amazing. Atmosphere is great, dimmed lights. Service is too top ! Have looked for bar like this in Zurich long time !

My favorite bar in Zürich. The staff is really kind and serves also water and some snacks once you order. The quality of the drinks is optimal and there is really wide range of drinks to choose from. Also, there are different glasses depending on the drink you choose. Given that it is not cheap, I can definitely recommend investing 2-4 CHF more to come here.

Amazing cocktail bar in Zurich with a cool vibe. The bartender/owner was so welcoming and lovely to chat with that we went back a second time in our short stay. On our second visit the place was super packed but we scored a seat at the bar which allows us a chance to watch the master perfecting his craft. Seriously good cocktails.

If you're ever in Zurich! This is place is a must! As soon. As you walk in they make you feel like you're at home! The bartenders are some of the best and have officially made one of my favorite drinks. I let the bartender know what I liked and that I wanted a tequila based cocktail and he knocked out out of the park. This is definitely the place where you can really trust your bartenders and get the most perfect drink in a way that you wouldn't have thought about before. They have every ingredient you could imagine... from different tinctures, infusions and fresh fruits. They even had passion fruit which is my personal favorite especially with tequila. The vibe and ambience are really warm and welcoming and super cozy! It is a smaller space which makes it that much more cozy! They also have some great food options. My husband loved the pulled pork! It's a great late night spot for sure. It's also in a very convenient location right next to the train station which is great! We are always excited to visit when we are in town.

By far one of the best cocktail bars I have ever been to! The staff and service was outstanding and the cocktails were ice cold shaken very well or served with giant blocks of ice. If you are in Zurich and like craft cocktails you have to stop at Tales Bar.

Gönke(staff) was fucking tits man! I came with my bestfriend for drinks on our last night in Zurich. We were greeted immediately as we were looking for somewhere to sit. When Gönke came to take our order i told her immediately , "I dont know how to read German but i do like rum and tiki drinks." This is one of the best Cocktail bars I've ever been to. The staff is AMAZING. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. If you are confused on what to order, just ask and they will create something special and taste just for you. I visited this place more than once on my trip and it was wonderful every time! They want it to be like you walk into their living room, and it definitely has that feel, it's warm and inviting but also intimate. Very cool spot.

Gönke met my best friend and I at the door and immediately made us feel as if we were regulars here. Small intimate bar, music just loud enough to enjoy while having great conversation with your friends. The main attraction is the large selection of spirits, bitters and experienced bartenders dishing out complex yet amazing cocktails. Not only is the staff (Gönke)very knowledgeable on their menu but they take their time to get to know their customers and make the entire experience one to remember. I can't read German so when she came to ask for our order I told her, "I cannot understand the menu but I like rum and tiki drinks", So she made two recommendations and they were both perfect! I will always recommend this place to friends traveling here. Overall very satisfied with our experience, money well worth being spent. -Blake & Johnny

I see why this place gets such amazing reviews. Great atmosphere, amazing service, good food, and Sabrina probably makes the best drinks in Europe. I've never left a Yelp review on anything, so that's saying something. If you're in Zürich go here.

OMG Tales bar makes really good cocktails.. I had a few different kinds and all looked and tasted great. Bartenders were attentive and very accommodating for your wishes. The bar itself wasn't big but enough for a group. I don't think they serve food. So plan for dinner before/after the bar. Highly recommend for date night or just having cocktail night out.

Tales Bar: located in the middle of the city. directly nearby casino Zurich, Subway, trainstation Selnau, Baradox. Search it best directly with the exact address, because it is a little bit hidden. First, it is a small bar, but with nice decoration and staff I like. The bar has a really good range of different sort of alcohol. You should try a cocktail. This is the place for it. Wow- it's a hidden treasure which we just discovered. It's close to the station Zurich Selnau, even walking by a thousand times I didn't know about it. So I was even more amazed when a friend invited us for a drink on a Tuesday night. The bar is pretty small inside and it makes it even more intimate and likable. The guys working there knew what they are doing when it came to mixing the high quality cocktails. The drinks tasted amazing, not too strong and not too sweet (I'm actually avoiding white sugar, so I asked if he could prepare mine without- he said he'd try, but it might be too tart then- nope it wasn't). The only "negative" point are just the prices - but that's just because it's Zurich! Great cocktail bar which reminded me of a place in L.A.! Fancy fancy fancy!!

For me the best cocktail bar in Zurich; cosy, excellent bar staff, discrete, fabulous atmosphere even when not so full ( which does not happen often...)

Conveniently located right by Selnau (and very close to El Lokal and Reitenhalle), I walked right by Tales Bar while trying to find it. Once inside, it's small and cozy - and not too loud! It's easy to hold a conversation here without having to ask your present company to repeat him/herself. If you don't know what you want to drink, just ask the bartender or staff - they make great recommendations that suit your tastes! Drinks were not too sweet (nor too tart), and were just strong enough. The bar snacks were yummy as well, and the staff had to refill it a couple of times. If you've just come from work and are a little hungry, you can also order some cold or warm finger foods to your liking.

It's a hidden gem! The drinks are superbly made by knowledgeable bar staff in a nice, quiet and grown-up atmosphere. I really hope this place doesn't get overcrowded, which is a serious possibility given the quality of the drinks and the proximity to the affluent Kreis 1 banker crowd. Let's all agree that we'll be selective about whom we tell about Tales!
