Fort Lauderdale and Broward County’s 10 Best New Restaurants, 2024 | Eater Miami

"From its story to its tacos, it’s hard to not love Talkin’ Tacos. What started as a pandemic-era food truck started by two buddies in Miami has emerged into a rapidly-growing operation now with six Florida locations. Its Coral Springs outpost has quickly become a local go-to, with its carne asada and bang bang shrimp tacos being top orders."

Google
We had our lunch , we came by searching local medical , definitely so delicious , and manager David and his crew so down to earth , Highly recommend to visit this place , will not disappoint the vibes and food

Google
I ordered tacos and specified no onions and no spicy mayo. It was takeout and it was delayed for over 15+ minutes… Unfortunately when I got home the tacos had onion and my other tacos had spicy mayo. I requested a refund and haven’t gotten a response.

Google
The food was beyond of my expectations. The service was wonderful. You must ask for the avocado sauce, its a little sweet if you are into that. The service from Meile was amazing. Will definitely be recommending this to all my friends and family.

Google
About $16 with 15% ($2) tip for a birria burrito. Atmosphere is hip. Looks like Spencer's with glow in the dark Día de los Muertos paraphernalia.

Google
Gloria was incredibly helpful with showing us how to order and delivering our food to the table. The art on the walls were spectacular to admire and the food was incredible! The birria tacos and nachos are top tier. Would definitely come back again - highly recommend!

Google
I recently visited Talkin’ Tacos, and I was thoroughly impressed! The food was absolutely delicious, and the wait time was pleasantly short. I really liked the ordering system—after placing and paying for your order, your food arrives quickly, which made the experience smooth and efficient. The atmosphere was nice, and the customer service was top-notch. The staff were incredibly friendly and made sure everything was perfect. Overall, I give this place a 10/10 and would highly recommend it!

Yelp
5 Stars - A Wildly Tasty Twist on Birria Tacos! If you're looking for a traditional birria taco, this isn't that--and honestly, I love it even more for that reason. This place takes birria and gives it a bold, creative twist that somehow works way better than it should! The tacos were crispy, juicy, and packed with layers of flavor I wasn't expecting. The consomé? Absolutely drinkable. And the options? Let's just say they're not afraid to have fun--unexpected but somehow perfect. Think bold spices, surprising textures, and just the right amount of weirdness to keep you coming back for more. If you're a fan of birria and love a little adventure, this is the spot. Highly recommend if you're into quirky, crave-worthy food that breaks all the rules (in the best way).

Yelp
This place doesn't look like and place where you go to eat from outside. But the minute you enter, there is another world inside creating a total different kind of ambiance. Everything is halal and for foodies like us, this was just amazing, especially as we are suckers for Mexican food! The portions was great and the service was excellent. The only thing that bother a little bit was coming in with shorts and tshirts. Let's just say that the AC is too good, so wear a hoodie. Will be coming again for sure! By the way, a lot of parking as well so zero stress in that department. Kids loved it and so did we! Very attentive and courteous staff made an awesome experience

Yelp
My son Ezra and I decided to check out Talking Tacos as my fiance, his mom ,was talking about it. She had never been but heard good things and thought it looked great sooooooo we decided to ck it out. We were the near the Doral location ( there are several including Wynwood, Brickell , and North Miami ). We found a parking space in the open parking lot that's within the little mall that it's located in, which is always a bonus when you don't have to worry about finding a place to park. The atmosphere and ambiance is awesome. A Day of the Dead theme with meticulous attention to decor. You step up to an automated machine to place your order which is relatively easy to navigate and has great descriptions of all the menu items which is vast a lot of creativity on the menu. Ezra is a vegetarian so he elected to try the Takis burrito, that's right as in the Takis chips that everybody loves so much. We split the loaded fries and I decided to go with an old staple to see how they pulled it off with some carne asada street tacos. As we were celebrating his end of the school year and advancement into jjunior high we treated ourselves to some of their loaded churros. We washed it all down with a mango lemonade and a mystic lemonade ( tropical fruit flavors with a twist. Here's how it all broke down : Price- $72.00 and change. Yes expensive when you really think about the fact that we had tacos a burrito and two drinks and some churros. Service - you are given a number and they bring it to your table the loaded fries came out pretty quickly a little while later the drinks and 25 minutes later my tacos. Food - The Takis burrito- although tasty overall it was underwhelming a very small amount of Takis on it and a lot of cheese beans and everything else but Takis. Carne Asada Tacos - three larger street tacos with a fried crispy tortilla cilantro onions and a very flavorful steak aside from how long I waited for them and how much they cost they were pretty good. The dranks - Mango Lemonade was good , pretty straightforward a bit sweet but a nice mango punch. Mystic Lemonade- overall tasty kind of muddled on Flavor with a strong mango taste. The Loaded Fries- Fries, Cheese Sauce, Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, Guacamole, Avocado Salsa, Garnished with Crushed Takis and Cilantro. This clenched them the four-star review Thanks to Ezra I would have went three stars but these fries were delicious crispy and hot were the nice mixture of all the above ingredients came together beautifully and a huge portion this is enough for several people to split. Loaded Churros- very decadent but delicious crushed Oreos peanut butter sauce a few other things that don't come to mind and for some reason at the moment it's not on their menu anymore but nonetheless very good. Hot Sauces - one habanero one jalapeno green and one Cayenne all very tasty nice Heat point and complement all the dishes they're on the tables as you sit. And review it was a pretty good experience overpriced and not the best timing on the food coming out together. The four stars again is thanks to Ezra he's more generous with those than I am but we enjoyed it and would be willing to try one of the other locations.

Yelp
This place was extremely mediocre and probably the worst Mexican restaurant I've been to in Miami. The set up is pretty simple you order at an iPad and then they bring you the food to the table. The food was nothing special or out of this world, it was overpriced and very underwhelming. I would recommend any other place than this one when it comes to Mexican food. Didn't even bother taking a photo of my food.

Yelp
Soooo good! I visited four times when I was in Miami for a 3-week business trip. The best in order was: #1- Birria Rice bowl! This was OMG heavenly! #2- Birria tacos. I really liked these. Highly recommend. #3: Birria Grilled cheese. Didn't blow me away but it was good. I got a side of queso, which was good but it doesn't reheat well the next day. #4: Steak burrito. Flavor 8/10. It was a big burrito. Fell apart and was messy. Advice: eat it on a plate. I will definitely return for the Birria rice bowl. I also tried the refried beans. Good flavor. Could be kicked up a notch with some cheese and diced onions, maybe a little Birria sauce to punch it up a bit.

Yelp
Love this taco joint! Pretty impressive how its a chain restaurant, yet provides authentic mexican flavors and consistency throughout it's locations. It imports their tortillas from mexico from what the manager in the Doral location told me. The moment I took the first bite of the taco, I knew the tortillas had to be genuine and took me back to chicago. Best part is, they are open till 2 pm!

Yelp
Lived Talkin' Tacos, so yummy!! Loved that is open late, nothing like late night tacos service was quick and on point. I've dined in, but mostly had take out, the lights are a bit too much for me. Other then that, it hits the spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food but A little bit on the expensive side for lunch. Music a little too loud for my liking
google avatar

Kiana V.

Yelp
So glad to have this spot in the neighborhood! You order on an iPad and the food gets brought pretty quickly. The music is pretty loud which can be distracting, but I personally loved it haha. We ordered: Horchata: 5/10 - wayyyyyyy too sweet and thick for my taste (and I love sweet things). I would pass on this. Nachos: 9/10 - I love these nachos! They're so flavorful and the serving is amazing for the price. The only thing to flag about this is that they don't come with enough chips. I had to ask for more on the side. Carne Asada tacos: 9/10 - not much feedback on these, they were yummy. Fish tacos: 5/10 - the fish did not have much flavor at all, but the sauce was good. Would pass on these too. Would come back!

Yelp
I convinced my husband and our friends to check out Talkin' Tacos, and honestly, I regret it. When you arrive, you place your order on one of the iPads, and then the food is brought to your table. I ordered the Taco Trio with birria, steak al pastor, and Southwest chicken tacos, and my husband and I shared a Pumpkin Spice Horchata. The horchata came out quickly, and while it was good, it barely tasted like pumpkin spice. Then came the food... or at least, everyone else's did. My order took so long to arrive that everyone at my table had already finished eating. My husband finally went to ask about my food, and they told him it would be "right out" -- but still, nothing. A while later, I got up myself to ask and received the same response. Sure enough, when it finally arrived, it was cold. I mentioned the delay once again to the server, and she answered back rudely, blaming the kitchen staff. My tacos were bland, cold, and honestly, the first bite made me feel nauseous. My husband tried a bite as well, and it literally made him sick to his stomach. Unfortunately, we had already paid and I finished my meal. I rarely write bad reviews, but this place is awful. I wouldn't recommend Talkin' Tacos to anyone -- bad food and even worse service.

Yelp
Came here after the Heat game . So glad to find a good late night eat on a Monday night. The service was quick and the food was good. The place was nice and clean and organized. Will definitely be back. The birra ramen hit the spot last night for something warm in the tummy.

Yelp
Super happy that I discovered talking tacos in Doral, and right by my job! When coming in you can easily order on the kiosk. When it comes to the food, it was absolutely delicious. Five stars. I ordered the Birria tacos with a side of guacamole. And a small beef consome(spicy brothy and warm, so good) Prices are definitely reasonable. The only downside was that they forgot my order, and after 20 minutes and noticing that other people that arrived after me were getting their food I asked what happened to my order. They apologized profusely, they apparently lost it but quickly made it and gave me free chips. It took them only a few more minutes to put it together. The vibe was laid-back. They had some Spanish music. It was chill, I will definitely give them a try again and hope it was a one time thing. Some of the best Birria tacos in town. YUM!

Yelp
I ordered a Chicken Rice Bowl and Southwest Chicken Tacos. Regarding the chicken rice bowl, the chicken was absolutely delicious, fresh off the grill, moist, and well cooked, the rice was warm and flavorful, the fried bowl was flaky and crunchy, and the toppings were cool, juicy, and fresh. Mixing all of this together led to a wonderful mix of flavors and warmth. The service is great! The servers are very understanding and knowledgeable about their food and what is in it & how it's made. The food comes pretty quickly and it's made with care & attentiveness. The ambiance is super fun, with great music and beautiful murals on the walls and cute neon signs! If you visit when it becomes dark out, the inside has fun neon lightning that makes the tables & murals almost glow in the dark. Overall, a great place to eat.

Yelp
First time coming here and I thought it's such a cool decorated place. It's spacious enough, ordering is done through a kiosk which someone explained us through the process :) All the workers were really friendly. Everything we ordered was delicious! Birria ramen was very tasty and it very filling. The horchata was amazing as well! It almost tasted like arroz con leche haha, definitely recommend it! The Mexican corn was really good too, just a bit on the spicy side but good. The birria grilled cheese was really good too, it came with a small tomato soup and fries. The fries were delicious too, they came with a little seasoning on top that made them tastier! I'll definitely come back and try other items! :)

Yelp
Casual trendy taco spot! Atmosphere 4/5 Very cool dark vibe inside with some decorative neon lights. Not quite nice enough for a dinner date spot, but it's a fun casual dinner spot with friends or family! The music was a hint too loud for me for a Tuesday evening. Service 5/5 You place your own order at a kiosk and then a server brings your order to you. We needed some to go boxes and had to get up to ask for them. I think as long as you know what kind of service you're getting, this is a great casual experience! Each of the servers were very nice and helpful! Food 4/5 The tacos were so good! Particularly how they prepared the tortillas, making them slightly crispy! The steak was a little chewy/overcooked in mine, but the shrimp and chicken were cooked to perfection! The sunrise lemonade was good but veryyyy sweet, it would be nice if they offered a less sweet version. Overall 4/5 It's a great quick spot when you're craving a taco or burrito but you want something more fun and special than chipotle. I'll definitely be back to try their other dishes!

Yelp
We got in late from a flight and was looking for a place open later than midnight. Thanks to the few reviews this new place has we decided to give them a try and they did not disappoint. When you enter you order at little kiosk and if you eat there they will bring your food to your table. The restaurant has black lights and neon glow paintings on the walls and table which is a nice unique atmosphere. Both the girls working were super friendly and welcoming. They have tacos, burritos, nachos etc Starters Elote(corn in cup) It's not mayo forward which allows for you to be able to taste each ingredient such as cilantro and lime and takis not spicy Jalapeno queso and chips cheese is thick so it stays on your chip, cheese has a pronounced jalapeno flavor but not too spicy. Overall great flavor Birria grilled cheese was amazing. Soft yet toasted Texas toast, could use a tad more cheese but overall fantastic flavor on the meat and perfect size. Come with fries and tomato soup. My only complaint is the soup reminds me more of a marinara sauce than a soup. I would personally rather have consume to dip it in. Birria ramen what a unique concept. Ramen should only be eaten this way. Hubby raved about how delicious it was. Imagine ramen noodles in a package elevated to a whole new level with Birria meat and consume. Give it a try it's worth it. Dessert was cookies and cream tres leche cake which is a milk soaked cake. I didn't really get the cookies and cream flavor because there was an overpowering cinnamon flavor. But overall wast too bad. Overall next time I'm in Miami area this will be my go to spot.

Yelp
Let me start by saying this was possibly one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I went to Talkin' Tacos with a group of friends looking for a quick bite, and started off with a Mangonada to drink. A mango slushy with some tajin mixed in, sounds tasty right? Tasted like nothing, absolutely no flavor. No sugar, no mango taste, just a little bit of a saltiness because of the tajin. Couldn't be bothered to finish it and got a bottle of water just to have something to drink. Terrible drink for 8 dollars, total ripoff. Strike one. Then came my burrito, I had ordered the steak Cali Burrito as did one of my friends. When I started eating I could tell it was very dry, my friend was confused because his was fine and had sour cream and guacamole. Mine had nothing. No sour cream, no guac, and NO FRIES. The California burrito is famous for having french fries and my burrito didn't have fries. I realized that they must have given me some other burrito and not the one I ordered and paid for. Strike two. Finally, the overall service, abysmal. Not only did they get my order completely wrong, but the restaurant took 40+ minutes to serve an order of 3 tacos to one of the friends in my group. The rest of us were all done eating and she had still not received her food. We had to talk with the employees multiple times to have them notice and they had the audacity to have an attitude about it. Not to mention, another member of our group got physically ill and threw up minutes after leaving the restaurant. STRIKE THREE. This place is awful and is definitely not worth your money. If you're looking for Mexican food, literally look anywhere else.

Yelp
Doral just leveled up with the new Talkin Taco location! I've been a big fan for many years and I love to see that there is now location close to home. I love how convenient it is to order and how fast the services. All you have to do is walk up to the kiosk, place your order, sit down, and the food comes to you. My go to are always the birria tacos, the street tacos, and the quesadilla, but every time I go back to a location, there is always something new and exciting on the menu. This time I leveled up with the Birria Taki Tacos! OMG they were so good, and now officially one of my favorites on their menu. The ambience is super cute. Great for friends and family. And I always love how they decorate. It's just so fun!

Yelp
Online order was ready when we got there. Food was amazing for a late night craving. Definitely hit the spot.

Jeremiah J.

Yelp
The food is really good but they did get our order wrong but overall it's pretty good and I liked the vibe. And the workers don't really interact with you
google avatar

Yamila C.

Yelp
The service here is phenomenal, there is a ordering ipad or you can ask a waiter. The food is outstanding, ordered the Coquito, Taco Trio, Street Corn, and the Birria Burrito. It was one of the best Mexican spots in miami. The ambiance is very "dia de muertos" styled, featuring black walls with skeletons and colorful mariachi hats. Parking included.
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
We've ordered multiple times from here but using UberEats. This time we decided to go and dine in. If you haven't been there, please know that you will have to place the order and pay on the iPads by the entrance, then you seat wherever you want and when your order is ready they will call your name and take the food to your table. I liked the concept, young and fresh. Everything is delicious. The portions are very generous. You can probably share. Music is nice, the place is very clean. 100% recommended. FYI: We always get promotions on UberEats and the corn is 2x1.
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
So I've been hearing a lot of of these tacos and they open one in the row which is perfect closer to me the ones further of mission to park so when you come in they have a machine and you order by yourself you could take out or you could dine in the business is really cute really nice cleanI ordered three my tacos which there were the bomb and the sauce they put is amazing and that had for dessert 3 leches I need to come back to try more tacos
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing service, second favorite location that ive been to. Per usual the food is amazing. My favorite always being birria tacos. We came to eat for my birthday with my job and everyone left happy
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
The place is not bad , but the food wasn't the best one ! The tacos , nachos and burrito that was what I ordered , I had better ones ! In my opinion the this is not quality food !
google avatar

Angela B.

Yelp
The one in Doral it's the best! Great service and awesome food! Great combination!!! And the best part the closed late! So yummy
google avatar

Katherine V.

Yelp
Nothing really memorable! Since they opened we wanted to go and try, we finally went and as soon as we went in we decided we will take it to go, the ambience is not inviting, very loud annoying music and the place was empty. The staff was friendly and showed us how to order on a kiosk. Menu was a little hard to understand specially to find something for the kids! Once home we tried the food and it was ok, not bad but not something to repeat.
google avatar

Maria D.

Yelp
The food was fresh, made to order and delicious... an authentic Mexican meal. Even though the restaurant was full and busy with take out orders... the service was fast, I didn't have to wait long for my order. The ambiance was nice and relaxing. It was my 1st time at this restaurant, but it won't be my last!
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
First of all, the food was so good I forgot to take pictures. Loved the guacamole and chips dish, I had the shrimp tacos- and they were packed with flavor all in my little corn tortilla. And we ordered plantains for the kiddos. I also had horchata. My friends had the blue lemonade and the kiddos LOVED it. The food arrived pretty quickly. I was met at the door and was told how the ordering could be done. It was all pretty efficient. And I loved the vibe inside, music and screens were playing, but they never detracted from our conversations. All in all, great place, and clean.

Pam R.

Yelp
Simply amazing!! Fresh! Tasty! Clean! Friendly! We will be back! Kid friendly. We got the chicken nachos. Enough for 2!
google avatar

Natalie S.

Yelp
Los tacos más deliciosos!!! The chicken achiote tacos are my go to!!! I ordered these to go for a quick lunch break from work and they were a fire!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice ambience, fast service, great food. So far have ordered from Ubereats and dine in and we loved it their food.
google avatar

Kris C.

Yelp
The food was great and the service was good. We loved the birria tacos and the churros
google avatar

Ferg A.

Yelp
It's ok, the tacos were good but not like wow delicious. We ordered to go and it was all packed neatly and it was quick.
google avatar

Jill` B.

Yelp
Had the Barria grilled cheese. Fantastic. Friendly service. Came with a group of 5 everyone enjoyed their food. The decor is well done.
google avatar

Awzean F.

Yelp
The food is good overall and a cute spot, but slowest service ever, no matter what time you order the food. They don't prioritize the orders when they need to be ready or by when it was ordered. They don't accept cash either. And they're over here rolling their eyes. After waiting 40 minutes after my food was supposed to be ready for pick up, all it was missing was an Elote, I asked the cooks in the back to make it real quick so I can leave with my food. He nicely made it and let the rude, uneducated, women know to put it in my bag so I can go. This ugly women then persists to shrug her shoulders, make an ugly noise, and roll her eyes, purposefully not packing it and working even slower. The training needs to be reevaluated at this place, especially for that sad use of human skin. I most definitely won't be coming back as long as she works there.
google avatar

Carl E.

Yelp
I kept seeing the special for Street Corn in a Cup 2 for 1 deal in UberEats and couldn't resiste myself I love elotes and this deal did not let me down. Corn, cotija cheese, spicey mayo, crushed takis all in a cup, yummy. I also ordered the birria tacos, the shell was crunchy and the beef was equally delicious. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu.
google avatar

Kyler B.

Yelp
My absolute go to for door dashing good reliable food to my building. Have tried almost the whole menu and everything is always amazing. Any of the burrito options are a must, always look forward to my burritos from here. 5/5 stars consider me a loyal customer.
google avatar

Juan Z.

google avatar

Amber M.

Yelp
Can never go wrong with this place. Place is relatively new in Doral and I've already been a couple times. The vibes are right especially if you want to go with some friends. Staff is always super friendly and they are always quick with my order. No complaints! Food is delicious especially the birria it's my favorite. My #1 taco spot near me!
google avatar

Corey T.

Yelp
We were visiting Miami on our way to a cruise and I saw this place on TikTok. It looked so good I had to try it. Absolutely amazing! We ordered through DoorDash and everything was warm and full of flavor! I got the Birra Grilled Cheese, Queso and Chips and Dulce de leche Churros. That grilled cheese is the best thing I've had in a long time! It's cheesy, extremely juicy from the birra and so filling! The dulce de leche sauce is so creamy! The queso is probably my least favorite because it's yellow cheese instead of white but it's still okay. So glad I tried this restaurant! I'll definitely be back!!!
google avatar

Rigoberto G.

Yelp
Some of the best tacos and burritos I've had. The birria tacos were delicious, as was the Carne asada burrito. Staff is super friendly. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Ivan M.

Yelp
Average food for $$$. Rice bowl was simple, Chipotle is 100 mush better in any aspect
google avatar

Kiara D.

Yelp
my first time at this location and the service was exceptional! they were quick efficient and friendly, the food was AMAZING and You cannot leave without getting the churros absolute *French kiss* I was lucky and got to meet Jackie a manager and i can definitely see why this place runs the way it does. She was absolutely delightful AND told me about a new location in north Miami which I will definitely be checking out! can't wait.
google avatar

Walter L.

Yelp
Reasonably good tacos. Despite this place being one of the closest restaurants to where I live, I haven't felt compelled to return in almost a year. Perhaps the dehumanizing kiosks through which we're required to place orders sucks out all the atmosphere and makes this place feel like just another concept chain. It hardly feels like a neighborhood place. Does anyone else leave tips when ordering through a computer terminal without assistance? I don't, and I consider myself a strong tipper otherwise. With the food quality, this place could be so much more.
google avatar

Steve B.

Yelp
Birria grilled cheese changed my life, stoked to have this place in the neighborhood. Inside is nice, team is friendly and bilingual - check it out!
google avatar

Destiny R.

Yelp
soo good!! I ordered the nachos and the gauc, chicken, and pico de gallo tasted fresh. The churros were also goooooood
google avatar

William B.

Yelp
I went there at noon to order to go. I order 2 trio tacos. Orders are placed on a screen, and there is no human interaction. No paper receipt only a text message that stated around 20 minutes for my order. 35 minutes later, I approached the server and told her, "If my order is not ready, I will need to cancel." Her response was "Yes we will have to cancel because we have too many orders." Didn't take time to verify the order, and no apologies. I look at her, waiting for her to go ahead and cancel the order but she let me know that she will cancel ok for me to leave. An hour later and after two phone calls where the last one I had to raise my voice, they went ahead and "Cancel the order nd issued a refund". It took them 20 minutes for this, and I never got a text or any written confirmation, just the person on the stating they issued the refund. In summary they don't have respect for peoples time, no sense of customer service, and if you only speak english good luck!!! Adding 1 star because is mandatory but it should be zero.

Yelp
Went on Sunday 3/17/24 great experience all staff very nice and helpful nick the manager is always on top of the orders, food always fresh and hot. Nick is very attentive with the customers! Always a pleasure
