The dinner we had wasn’t just a meal for two, it was a real experience. Only 7 (out of a maximum of 8) people gathered round a chefs cooking table. We had a lovely sommelier explain the wines that went with the meal and the chef explained each course - where the ingredients were sourced and how he cooked it. It tasted amazing and we were so full after. We were celebrating a birthday but look for any excuse to visit this place, you won’t regret it.

Lovely place for a special occasion. Atmosphere is considered and cozy. Service friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Cooked to perfection. We opted for the pollock, potato rosti and a couple of sides. I’d definitely recommend the chocolate waffle to finish. Would recommend.

We first visited two years ago for our anniversary and had such a memorable experience that we made the 40-minute drive to return this year — and it was absolutely worth it. The service was excellent throughout; we felt genuinely looked after. The guest cocktail, a mango and coconut rum punch, was a delicious start to the evening. I controversially paired a white wine with my lamb, and our server's recommendation worked brilliantly. The bread offering was particularly memorable: a crumpet served with Marmite butter. We're not usually Marmite fans, but it won us over — the crumpet was one of the highlights of the meal with its perfect texture and savoury twist. Starters of cured monkfish and ox cheek were both beautifully presented and full of flavour. For mains, we had lamb and red mullet — both cooked to perfection. Desserts rounded off the meal wonderfully: the strawberry and white chocolate tart was delicate and fresh, while the chocolate coffee financier was rich and satisfying.

OMG, I absolutely loved this place. The whole experience was incredible. I loved sitting there talking to the chef while he was cooking and hearing about how he ended up where he is, his upbringing, his family the food that he’s cooking and where it comes from, etc etc. The Pain perdu with caramalised onion, Tete de Moine cheese and summer truffles was my absolute favourite and I still dream of eating this again! Absolutely wonderful! The area sits eight people. There were four couples. Towards the end, everybody was talking to each other. It was really great and I can’t wait to do something like this again.

Head the hype around Tallow few years back. The food was stunning, perfectly presented, with a balance of flavours that made each dish stand out and sing. First course I had lambs sweetbread, glaze and pickle. Worked fabulously together. Mains - I usually would go for meat 9/10. Instead - Goats curd , hazel nuts, chanterelle mushrooms and a sauce (Their description is much better) Wow! what an incredible combination of flavours. Dessert - cremeux , meringue and chocolate (really badly explained by me). Sensational. Tells your friends , tell your granny, places like this need to stay open forever.

We enjoyed the Chef’s table experience. The service was amazing, food incredible and just such a lovely experience. Chef Rob was great at explaining each course and answering all of our questions about the food and the food he cooked for us was just simply delicious, every dish better than the last. Lily was a wonderful host as well, always attentive and checking in with drinks and food and was so lovely and enhanced the whole experience. We are already planning another visit for next year! The Chef’s table experience is well worth the cost.

I don’t know where to start. We came to celebrate my partner mums birthday and we’ve got an essence of the best hospitality we’ve ever seen. The owner - absolute Wonder Woman of her kind. She made us very welcomed, entertaining our humours all night long. Such a hear! Food - that’s a fine dinning experience you won’t see nowhere near. Amazing wines, regional selection and local ones too! I am can describe how grateful I am for that night! Thank you am we will be back ❤️
