I had the French toast and scrapple. The scrapple portion was small so I ordered a side of bacon. Note to self always choose bacon. But back to the French toast; it was yummy with decadent drops of delicious in the form of cinnamon sprinkled on top that melted perfectly with the more than ample serving of butter! My dude felt like the butter was too much and opted to leave it on the plate. My little sister got pizza with pineapples because it is yummy...and it was. Now my uncle got the lasagna. I believe it to have been more than serviceable as no one was offered a taste and he didn't talk until it was gone. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and the perfect spot for varying tastes to all be satisfied. DO NOT FORGET TO CHECK THE DESSERTS...the orange cake did not disappoint neither did the cherry pie.

We stopped in for brunch before hiking at Great Falls. The food is great but they seemed understaffed and it's a pretty spartan operation. The prices were good though and we didn't have to wait for a table. I'd be willing to go back and give them another shot.

TL;DR: Pick up service staff ruined our Mother's Day. We decided to order lunch/brunch for pick up on Mothers Day so neither my Mom nor I had to cook for 8 people. We have lived in Potomac for about three years now, and never tried Talley Ho, but I heard the food is terrific, they have a great menu, and it's small, family-owned business that I wanted to support. So I placed our order for pick up through Seamless, and my 78-year-old father went to pick it up. When he got the food home to us, a third of the food was missing, and most of it had been put in the boxes and bags so roughly that there was sauce and grease everywhere - on the packaging, and all over the backseat of my Dad's car. They also gave us the wrong salad dressing, which wouldn't have been a big deal except that when my Dad drove all the way back to get the rest of our food, the pick up guy actually argued with him about it! Arguing with a customer about two little plastic thingies of salad dressing for crying out loud! He also proceeded to put the rest of our food in the boxes and bag upside down, looking my Dad straight in the face as he did so, so there was another mess to deal with when we got home the second time. I really don't appreciate how rude the staff person was to my father, a grandfather just trying to make Mother's Day nice for us, nor how carelessly they packed up the food. Put a real damper on our Mother's Day and a real sour taste in my mouth. I wish I had just cooked.

Some of the best pizza I've had, definitely a notch above some of the other places nearby. Always feel like I'm welcomed when I come in, very friendly staff

Came here for breakfast after seeing it name dropped on my favorite show, RHOP. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious and the prices were good! We loved our classic American breakfast.

Google
This is not just a pizza place! They have delicious breakfast too. Could not have been more impressed. I went here thinking I was in for a mediocre time, as it is a sleepy restaurant that’s sort of hidden in Potomac. I ordered the steak and eggs and who ever cooked that thing hit it out of the park. Got the temperature to a perfect medium rare, the eggs were cooked precisely to what I requested, and the home fries were delicious. Could not have been happier.

Google
Food is the best in Potomac but man! It's so expensive we understand that we are Potomac, :) but yeah, it's just not fair. When you gotta give thirty dollars for bacon and eggs:(

Google
I called 2 times and the person that answered did not say hello or anything. I’m not sure if when they answered they immediately said HOLD, or if when they answered they immediately hung up couldn’t make it out, I do know they didn’t say, thanks for calling Tally Ho please hold! A proper greeting to let a customer know they are calling Tally Ho would be the hospitable way to answer the phone when someone is calling to spend money with your establishment. Mom and Pop or not…. Customer service is the priority! It starts from the initial interaction.

Yelp
It was awesome! We ordered for delivery and could not have been more satisfied. We had 2 gyros with everything, fries and a small greek salad. The food arrived only 30 minutes after we ordered, delivered to Avenel. The food was packaged nicely and still warm. There was a ton of meet, fresh lettuce, onion and lots of feta cheese. The small greek salad was very good with again, fresh ingredients. They gave us an extra container of Tiziki sause and the salad dressing all on the side.

Yelp
I have ended up here willingly multiple times. Loved the food & the laid back mom & pop vibes. Until today... The waiter, Tony, was probably having a bad day, we all have those, but if you're having a bad enough day to not care if your customers walk out without paying you should not be working at an independently owned restaurant. Shameful. As I "faked" my exit, I reconsidered my dine & dash & walked back in to see where I needed to pay. Asked someone directly behind the counter where I needed to pay & they refused to look up from their phone or let alone give me an answer. No worries if they're on their break but I was not making a ridiculous request, especially if you're several feet from the register. Please correct me if me wrong. I ended up reconnecting with my beloved waiter, Tony, who was prepping Oregano for the chefs, several feet from the register. After asking again where I needed to pay, I received no dialogue but he did point me back to the individual who did not care to interact with anyone for that matter. They then got into an argument over the fact that the only woman working outside of the kitchen was not attentive to the register... Which proceeded to Tony begrudgingly ringing me up, making me reach over the counter to tap my phone to pay, the list goes on. By no means do I expect a Michelin star experience from my local Tally Ho restaurant. Great prices with decent food. But I do hope management can figure out how to turn these frowns upside down & not lose profit due to lackadaisical employment. Unfortunately I will be back to check in on my sweet Tony

Yelp
Mostly mediocre, and overpriced without the expected quality. The burgers are ok, but the fries disappoint. The world has changed and we expect more from a nice restaurant that charges what this one does. The fact is that even though the food isn't great, you can have a decent meal in a relative short time. The tvs are entertaining... Potomac simply does not have an excellent restaurant. You have to drive to Old Angler's Inn to get into the illusion of great dining, but you will be paying even more.

Yelp
LOVE Tally-Ho!!!! Family owned awesome restaurant that delivers and has been around forever. It never disappoints!
google avatar

Rishi G.

Yelp
I ordered a steak and cheese sub for my son and this is what they gave. One dry layer of steak and a slice of cheese. It was mostly bread (and they randomly put mayo on it). The meat didn't have much flavor either. It's certainly up to the restaurant how they make their food but to call this a steak and cheese is almost misleading. It also shows little to no effort. The other items we ordered were about on par with this. Hopefully, they improve or have a conversation with the chef.

Yelp
Great salad and best 9 inch pizza in town. Staff is friendly and takes no huff. Real people from all walks of life eat here. Leave politics and religion at the door. A great hideaway spot.

Margo T.

Yelp
I love Tally Ho! It's the perfect, cozy little diner/cafe. A hidden gem. Their Greek pizza is awesome and service is very kind. It's a little slow - but it's a laid back place. I love the groove!

Jerry S.

Yelp
We hadn't been here for a while mainly because they have no fruit - and both my wife and I can't have sugars - so no cake, pie, cookies, or anything else typically found on dessert menus. However, we like the food here and decided to come back. The food was good as usual - at least a 4, if not a 5. Service, however, was a 1. Our server seemed to be more interested in her phone than in serving customers (we were the only ones there) and we had to flag her down for refills on our drinks. She never did stop by to ask he our meals were. Appetizers were good. However, I ordered an entree which included a salad and a side. After quite a wait, she brought the salad (which was large, although mostly lettuce) and the veggie. Then we found out the reason for the wait - she immediately brought my entree. So I had a choice - skip the salad I had already started eating or put the salad aside. Didn't anyone ever tell her that salads should be served BEFORE entrees? I went ahead and finished the salad, but by the time I was done my entree was only warm. This restaurant would get a 4 or maybe even a 5 if they get servers who know how to take care of their customers and when to serve each course.

Yelp
Best pizza in the area by far, lamb is incredible a family favorite for years.

Yelp
The fried eggplant pizza at Tally-Ho is to die for. I would venture to say it's the best speciality pizza available in all of Potomac/Rockville/Bethesda. Their other speciality pies are killer, especially the Mykonos.
google avatar

Linda K.

Yelp
Great Greek food in this pizza joint. Go figure. It's certainly order a selection Greek foods again.

L Y.

Yelp
Delicious eggplant pizza! Great Greek food, and the onion rings are delicious. Nice diner and there is a buy one, get one 1/2 off of pizza or pasta dish on Mondays and Tuesdays during August 2023.

Yelp
This place had been around for ages, but today was the first time I've visited. A bit smaller than I expected with the way the seating and kitchen area are split up. I arrived and one side was full so my friend and I sat on the side that faces Falls Road. A little cold when the door opens, but expected during the winter season. I had the hot cakes with bacon. They were fluffy and big. Tasty. But heavy with the butter. Bacon was typical deli/diner bacon. Friend had a cheeseburger. It was big but he didn't like it. Said the patty tasted like typical frozen beef patties. I don't eat red meat so burgers aren't even in my line of sight when I look at a menu. Server was nice and attentive. I'd go back to try other things on the menu.

Yelp
Visiting family nearby. We've had breakfast here two days in a row. Wonderful variety. Something for everyone. Service is fast and friendly. Cute diner ambiance. Quite comfortable. They also have many choices for lunch and dinner. Our kids tell us the gluten free pizza is good.

Michael G.

Yelp
Mediocre food. Mediocre service. Mediocre in every way. Absolutely not worth going out of your way to go there. Pizza is fair. Steak and cheese had a huge chunk of lettuce with very little steak. and for almost $15, wasn't worth it. It just seems like they are going thru the motions.
google avatar

Johanna M.

Yelp
We love their pizza and hoagies! My kids think their pizza is the best, especially the Hawaiian and pepperoni. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Orders are ready when they say they will be. Love that they are a family-owned business and that they do their own delivery. This is a Potomac gem!

Martin R.

Yelp
I came to Potomac, Md. on business and one night had craving for pizza. Checked Yelp and tried the Tally-Ho. Much to my pleasure, the prior reviews were accurate and the pizza was outstanding. I hate to admit it, but I killed a medium in two days. I ordered the Meat Lover and it was delicious. Big thumbs up! MLR
google avatar

Ellen G.

Yelp
Really good pizza. I'm not a pizza person (my kids are) but I think this is the first pizza I've had where the crust is really tasty, and it's really worth ordering. The greek chicken/lemon soup is always great. The desserts always look fresh baked and smell delicious. I also appreciate that delivery is through the restaurant itself rather than Uber Eats, etc., so you're not paying all this administrative costs that don't go to the restaurant.
google avatar

Stefanie M.

Yelp
My family and I take out from here often whenever we want pizza or salad. If we order pizza, it is usually an entire pizza so it is hot and fresh out of the oven. I love their Greek salad and grilled halloumi salad. Both of those salads have the perfect amount of cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers and onions (though I usually ask for onions on the side) and their house dressing is a great and simple oil and vinegar with what seems like oregano. The staff are always kind and accommodating and the food is always ready by the time they tell us to arrive to pick it up. I know they have plenty of items on the menu, but for some reason our go to is always pizza and salad, sometimes the occasional side of fries. I look forward to returning soon!
google avatar

Willie T.

Yelp
Tucked way spot that hits the right taste buds. They serve breakfast and comfort foods like fish n chips, pizza, burgers, etc.
google avatar

Nikki E.

Yelp
We love picking up food from Tally-Ho. They are very responsive to take orders over the phone, and everything is always ready on time. They have an extremely expansive menu - we've ordered salads, sandwiches, pizza, etc., and we always enjoy our meal. Our go to pizza is pepperoni and sausage, and we ask for extra toppings. They do not skimp - they are extremely generous with the toppings and the pizzas are so filling. The crust is really thick and delicious. We also enjoy their Greek salad with chicken and Caesar salad with shrimp. Both are good sizes. We have not dined at the restaurant so I can't speak to that, but this is a fabulous place to pick up an easy and tasty dinner for the family. There is something for everyone.

Yelp
Just had lunch there today with my two year old son... I had a Congressional burger, which was excellent and Little Junes had a hot dog, which came split in a hero bun rather than a hot dog bun, but the little guy scarfed it all up anyway. The place was packed and everyone seemed to be doing OK with good looking sandwiches. In my tradition of doing a drawing whenever the staff brings Little Junes some crayons, I left them two masterpieces...

Michael H.

Yelp
Now that we can enjoy the wonderful Tally Ho through pick up, I am very impressed with their carry out. Despite the generous portions, the quality bite by bite, Is rich with the delicate and delicious flavors of Greece. Strangely enough I have, for 30 years, ordered and loved the amazing breakfasts and Italian dishes and here I discover the culinary delights of Greece. This has also been a secret of us accused of being elites in Potomac, but considering the price vs. quality , Tally Ho is Five Glittering Stars at a diner price. Please remember to tip at least 20%. These ladies and gentlemen are struggling as well- and they are just so professional and caring.
google avatar

karen k.

Yelp
This is our favorite pizza. Reasonable price, quick and ever so good with no skimping. I only wish it was closer to home. Be sure to try the Mikinos and the BBQ chicken. Have a piece of baklava too if so inclined. You have to love Greek Italian food,

William J. G.

Yelp
Met a lifetime friend for lunch, he said his hamburger and fries were great and my grilled chicken sandwich with sliced fresh onions, sliced tomato and shredded lettuce was fantastic. Waiter recommended the onion rings, he was right, excellent flavor and crispy!!
google avatar

Ariana N.

Yelp
The best pizza in all of Potomac!! This is a really nice family owned business that's been around for years that we should really be trying harder to support.

Jessica T.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place, it's a family friendly restaurant that's perfect for breakfast and or pizza delivery! By far some of the best pizza around Potomac. Also greatly appreciate that they always deliver the pizza prior to the quoted delivery time. A hidden gem for sure!
google avatar

James M. N.

Yelp
Tally-Ho has the best sausage pizza I've ever eaten. And the breakfast service is so good that the owner remembers what I order: western omelette, dry rye. It's an institution in Potomac.
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
We have lived in Potomac for several years but somehow just discovered this hidden gem. The food was absolutely fantastic - the delivery and ordering process was seamless. We can't wait for our next order. The pizza and salads were among the best we have had in the DMV.

Josh L.

Yelp
Never knew this place existed until now! Where have i ever been? Great pizza, great greek foods and burgers. Kids, wife everyone was happy and so was i
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Ordered a large pizza with everything on it. They definitely didn't skimp on the toppings, but I didn't really like how they put the toppings under the cheese. The toppings get steamed under the cheese and the pizza ends up being a little wet. I couldn't get it crispy when I heated it up the next day. They use a conveyor belt oven here. Crust is on the thicker and doughier side, which I liked. I was pretty full after eating 2 slices.

Yelp
About 2 weeks ago I was in with my 2 children, 5 and 9. Our server was very sweet and very helpful. About halfway through our meal, I noticed our waitress being manhandled by one of the managers. He was yelling at her over something that seemed small. He was calling her names and even said "you're not going to make it anywhere else as a waitress" is what I believed i heard. She stood there apologizing and saying she was trying the best she could. I don't know what she could of done wrong for a reaction like that but no one deserves that mental abuse. Especially a young girl who seemed to still be in high school. Overall the service was good from everyone besides management. Food was a 3-10. My children didn't enjoy their meals so we took them To-go. After this experience I will not be coming back and I think something needs to be done about the management. I'm highly disgusted.
google avatar

Jackie R.

Yelp
I placed a to go order , staff was friendly and prompt over the telephone and took order correctly . I liked that since sometimes placing a takeout can get complicated and loud . I haven't eaten at the establishment yet My boss picked up the food and order was correct. I did enjoy the pizza a lot it was not too greasy and yummy. But it also wasn't four star pizza , not the best or worst i've ever had but still delicious . I did like the size it was huge ! I do have a lot of compliments for this place food was fresh and yummy. Why not a four star ? hmmm.. cheese was kind of plasticy
google avatar

Cindy M.

Yelp
Tally Ho is officially my vote for best pizza in Potomac! A little noisy but the ambiance is very family oriented. Don't expect fine cutlery or fancy napkins, it's very low key but calamari is on point and pizza was top notch.
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
I used to eat here when I was a kid when it was in the Pharmacy and used to order the cheese surprise burger, man that was good! I just had 2 slices of their pizza yesterday and it was so good I'm back today for 2 slices. I never knew that had such good pizza. I'm really glad they're still in business after all these years!!!
google avatar

Petrod P.

Yelp
Today is buy one pizza get the 2nd half off. I've been ordering pizzas on Mondays for a long time now & the order takes 15 minutes to pick up. Straight forward. Tonight I believe the owner was working and when I called in the order I was told 25 mins. I immediately called back to change something and it was lost in translation- long story short, I had to wait 55 mins for 2 medium pizzas because the owner felt like making me wait...shameful.

Yelp
Tucked away in Potomac Village Shopping Center on Falls Rd near the Walgreens, Tally-Ho is a stand-alone hidden gem for casual eats. The owner and his wife, Pete and Youlla, are two of the nicest people I've ever met, and they treat their customers very well. Youlla or the staff constantly check on tables and will quickly sort out a problem if a customer is not satisfied. The food is heavily Greek-influenced, as the owners are Greek. The Greek food, when it's cooked by the owners, is usually very authentic and delicious for the most part. They also have a tasty pizza menu. The inside of the restaurant is very casual and small. It's definitely more suited for take-out, but that does not compromise the quality of the food! My favorite items on their extensive menu are the Greek pizza with generous amounts of gyro, feta, bell peppers, tomatoes and onion, as well as the Santorini pizza with sautéed mushrooms, spinach, a combination of mozzarella and feta (no red sauce or meat). Their gyros are very good and are served in decently sized portions, and their stuffed grape leaves are made the correct way with the right amount of spices and filling, as I would expect from a Greek-owned restaurant! My boyfriend loves the pizza, as well as the chicken souvlaki platter. I would recommend you try the Greek entrees or pizza versus the other things they offer, since their Greek dishes and pizza selections have the best flavor on the menu. They also serve breakfast all day which is great and the breakfast items are your typical diner-style breakfast menu items. The prices are in line with the 20854 "inflated zip code tax" due to the area it's in, so I can't criticize the prices--they are fair for Potomac. Definitely a great place to stop by and order takeout breakfast or lunch after a hike on the canal or take-out for a really casual, relaxed dinner!

Yelp
Good diner for breakfast. Bagel with lox was satisfying and staff was friendly. Came here to wait while car was being fixed and it was raining. Very comfortable space.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Wonderful and varied menus . Offering 16 categories. Feeling like breakfast Ordered Steak & Eggs , ( Overstuffed ) Blueberry Pancakes , Home fried Potatoes, Cranberry Apple Juice & Coffee. Food was quickly prepared. My Steak, (Flat as a Crepe ) "T-Bone,mmm -not 12 ounces, but good. Place has lots of " Lunch traffic, vast majority of Vendors walk-ins / phone orders. I whole-heartedly agree with 3/5 Star ratings. Pricey, for regular "Comfort Food". Just because it's "Potomac"... Pricey just"Because it's Potomac! Still waiting for a refill of my coffee. Not one single "Authentic Dessert". Oh well my sweet tooth can wait! Will I rush back. Not really.
google avatar

Isabella H.

Yelp
Have been here at least 6 times and have love every visit. Lots of menu items from Burger to Italian dishes. They even have calzone. The pizza you order can either be thin or thick crust. They do free deliveries for lunch and dinner every day. I will definitely be going back once a month if not more often going forward.
google avatar

Victoria Y.

Yelp
I grew up in the area and Tally-Ho has been here as long as I remember. I hadn't been in years so I figured I'd give it a try again with a friend of mine. Food was alright 4/10. Nothing I couldn't make at home but the portion size was big. Wait staff was iffy. The man who served us was very nice and prompt. The woman at the counter though was not. Older woman with an accent, tried to make a joke once or twice that wasn't funny but I just brushed it off. Then she came over to our table and touched my shoulder. I pulled away and felt very uncomfortable. I am a very private person and have been much less receptive to being touched by strangers while I am pregnant. I don't care how old you are, who you are, where you work, it is never acceptable to touch someone without their permission, especially when you were already clearly annoying us and not the one serving us. Overall, I don't think I will be coming back to dine in anytime soon.
google avatar

Nan P.

Yelp
Wow! Food is ok, place is cute, but I overheard managers yelling at waitresses. I felt so uncomfortable and won't be back. Over priced for the quality.
google avatar

Bryant B.

Yelp
Food was ok I got a steak sub that had more topping then meat ...... guess when you hungry it a due ..... guess I'll go to a hood carry out next time a least they pack it with meat

Stephanie H.

Yelp
WOW, classless. Delivery was late by 60 minutes (after already waiting 45 minutes). Owner continued to say 5 minutes, then 2 minutes then 7 minutes then 20 minutes. And then cold food. Owner even hung up on me. TERRIBLE.

Kathy P.

Yelp
We ordered several days worth of food today from Tally-Ho. It all looks wonderful. The meal lovers pizza was the heaviest pizza I had ever bought. It was wonderful. They had the food really for pick up and the process was very easy.
google avatar

Josh R.

Yelp
Not the best place. I would go to Potomac Pizza. Awful service and they don't even act like they care to make a good impression.

Kenneth C.

Yelp
Good pizzas. I like their thick crusts. Plentiful with their toppings and cheese. great bargains on Tuesdays when you get the second one for half price. The pastas are very good, too, and on Mondays the second pasta is half off. My favorite angel rose pasta with shrimp.
google avatar

Jeremy K.

Yelp
On Monday my wife and her fellow teachers from a local elementary school ordered lunch from Tally Ho. They delivered the order however it was missing an ordered item which was clearly on the receipt. My wife called and they said they would send over the missing item in 20 minutes. After about an hour when the missing item had still not arrived, my wife called back and they said driver had not returned. The missing item finally arrived 2 hours late. My wife called again and spoke to owner's son, he acknowledged the error and was disappointed to learn they were not impressed with the food. He promised to make things right and earn their business and offered to refill the order for free the following Friday. That Friday my wife called and asked for the son as he directed, and spoke with the owner. The owner refused to honor their promise. He instead offered a $15 discount. When my wife pressed him to honor their original promise, he rudely responded that he didn't care if they ever ordered from Tally Ho again and hung up. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Yelp
Tally Ho. Ha. Im shocked theyre able to pay the rent every month, given how expensive real estate is in the Potomac Village, and how it's never really busy. The pizza? I go back and forth on it. Sometimes I think it's really good, sometimes I think it sucks. Truth be told, I haven't had the pizza here in probably like 5 years. I do know the thin crust with sausage is (was) pretty good. It's fine if you need some early morning dinerish breakfast. I went over the weekend and got an egg white omelet with turkey, cheese, and broc. No complaints. The potatoes are actually pretty good (fresh chopped onions give it a nice kick).
