We've ordered here before, but had it delivered. It was solid. The food this time was pretty good , but not as good as before. It happens, right? I'm willing to give a spot a few tries if I know there's a chance for greatness. Biggest issue with this spot, at least this time, was the attitude of the guy working the counter. I walk in early evening on a Sunday. There's no other people eating in there. The guy at the counter was apparently too bothered to take out his air pods when I walk in. I get to the counter and he pulls out an earbud and says something like, 'yeah?'. Seriously? It's summer in NOLA . Everything is dead. Places are making sacrifices to keep their teams employed, and this guy can't even greet someone with a hello? I then tell him I'm picking up an order. He half screams 'what?', as I assume his music was still playing in his other ear bud. I repay myself, but with a bit of saltiness this time (as is fair). He asks my name. I tell him. He asks again. I tell him again. There's literally ONE other behind him, and it clearly says my name in it. Also, I'm not a soft-spoken guy. When I talk, you'll hear me (assuming you aren't wearing ear buds). He then proceeded to half heartedly try to tell me that he's had several people with my name order today (that's BS), though I'm not sure what that has to do with my order.
I give a LOT of grace to service industry people in this city, especially in the summer. So got this guy to tub me this much the wrong way meant he was definitely not interested at all in actually representing his employer with any respect for the business.
Not gonna be back for a while. Try better, grumpy dude.
